BIGBABYGUCCI Displays His Range Across 22 Tracks On “Baby 5”

BIGBABYGUCCI has been developing an expansive sound for quite a long time all while remaining supremely underrated. One of Charlotte, North Carolina’s best-kept secrets, he’s flexing his versatility, and it doesn’t come across as half-assed. If you caught the title, BIGBABYGUCCI is doing so on his newest album, Baby 5. His 13th studio LP, this project comes on the heels of multiple promotional singles such as “Captain Crashout”, “Pink Sprite”, “You a Joke”, and “Temporary”. Based on what we heard heading into this listening experience, we grew more and more excited for what was to come. Overall, it’s safe to say that we have been more than happy with the final results.

22 songs might automatically turn a lot of people off. Inflated tracklists are a huge problem in today’s streaming era. However, what justifies BIGBABYGUCCI doing this is that he manages to never bore you. According to the press release for Baby 5, the mission was to give off this feeling that you are flipping through television stations with each one presenting a different soundscape. His team describes the first half of the record as the more hype and high-octane side to GUCCI. Then, through the halfway mark, you are hearing softer, vulnerable and more “sophisticated” lyrics and instrumentals. Finally, the last leg is sort of a culmination of the previous two, which shows off just how creative he can get. Overall, there is really something for everyone, so give Baby 5 a try if you are looking to discover someone whose doing things a little differently than your mainstream star.

Rarri True Aims To Make A Statement In “Only Ten Mins”

Chicago rapper Rarri True is making his comeback after a year and a half away. In 2023, he released Time To Talk, his third album. Now, he is back with a new EP, the release of which was accompanied by a series of music videos. Over the past month, Rarri has released a new song and video each week. Additionally, he released behind-the-scenes footage of how his videos came together. ONLY TEN MINS offers listeners a glimpse into Rarri’s world, telling part of his story through four well-crafted tracks. Rarri’s latest work is similar to fellow Chicago rapper Polo G’s early music. The production is melancholic, and the lyrics are surprisingly thoughtful. Selflessness and sacrifice, as well as resilience and growth, are overarching messages that Rarri wants listeners to take from his latest work.

The second and lead single, “Last Supper”, released earlier this month. That track is the best showcase of what Rarri aims to achieve musically. He reflects on his time away and details his determination to return better than before. He acknowledges the struggles he’s gone through in the streets and in other aspects of life, interpersonal or otherwise. Rarri is determined to prove that he has more than “ten minutes of fame.” Of course, those already familiar with Rarri True may be through his relationship with model Blac Chyna, which ended several years ago. On ONLY TEN MINS, he aims to prove that he is more a name one might see as a footnote in the tabloids. Not only is he a rapper, but he is also an aspiring businessman and entrepreneur. The budding artist is aiming very high. Who are we to deny that? Stream ONLY TEN MINS below.

Meek Mill Co-Signs Donald Trump’s Young Thug Stance

Meek Mill responded to Donald Trump’s comments on Young Thug and the ongoing YSL RICO trial in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday. In doing so, he agreed with the former President about Thug receiving unfair treatment from the court system and called for his freedom. “Free Jeffrey. …. A loving man that put on a lot of people on in atl and created millions for a bunch of families from nothing!” Meek wrote.

Trump had discussed Thug’s legal situation during an interview with Adin Ross earlier in the day. Ross brought up the topic of Young Thug while speaking with Trump about various celebrities. He mentioned that district attorney Fani Willis has been treating the rapper unfairly. “I heard that actually,” Trump responded. “So, I’ve heard about him and I’ve heard he’s being treated very unfairly by her [Willis] and I would tell her she’s gotta treat these patriots that are being all– it’s terrible. They’re going after them.” He concluded: “He’s gotta be treated fairly.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Trump discussed the Democratic Party switching to run Kamala Harris against him in the upcoming election. He accused them of staging a coup against Joe Biden to do so. “I don’t know if I was brilliant or he [Biden] was horrible, maybe a combination of both … he’s done tremendous damage to our country. I actually think he’s smarter than her [Harris], and I think he’s a really not smart person. She was convenient, she was there. They have much better people. All the people were better than her. They would’ve run, but they didn’t want to go through the roadblock that was her.” Additionally, he discussed Kanye West and labeled the controversial rapper a “really nice guy” but admitted he’s a “complicated” person.

BossMan Dlow’s Manager Accused Of Scamming DJ Vlad For An Interview

BossMan Dlow is in a pretty sticky situation right now, as a fan recently seemed to film Florida police arresting him and fans have many theories as to why. However, based on a recent tweet from none other than DJ Vlad, it seems like he might have another big issue to worry about when it comes to how he can move in his career. Moreover, the controversial VladTV host accused Dlow’s manager Chris Silvers of being a stingy negotiator and of withholding deposits over plans for an interview with the rapper. While there isn’t any public response from his team at press time, we’ll see whether or not this becomes more contentious in the future or if they clear up this misunderstanding.

“I want to warn everyone out there who is booking @bossman_dlow,” DJ Vlad’s tweet about BossMan Dlow’s manager read. “We recently gave his manager Chris Silvers a small deposit for an interview. After getting the deposit, he asked for 4 times the agreed upon amount and refused to return the deposit. D Low, you need to be a better Bossman and hire a real manager if you want to succeed in this business long-term.”

DJ Vlad Claims BossMan Dlow’s Manager Is A Scammer

While a lot of fans thought that, if true, this is a pretty low move on BossMan Dlow’s manager’s part, others were more quick to clown DJ Vlad for this incident. “So you got finessed [crying-laughing emoji],” one fan on Twitter replied to this warning. Still, Vlad was happy to explain things further and defend himself, and we’ll see how far that goes. “The person who made the booking for us got finessed. It wasn’t a big amount, but it’s just surprising that they wouldn’t return the deposit after changing the terms.”

Meanwhile, some other Vlad detractors think that Chris Silvers actually isn’t BossMan Dlow’s manager at all, adding to the “finesse.” At the end of the day, this is sadly a more common occurrence these days thanks to the nature of social media. But what’s definitely true is that Dlow has bigger fish to fry at the moment than a VladTV interview. Maybe they can actually lock it in one day and laugh back at what happened.

PnB Rock’s Alleged Killer Takes The Stand In The Rapper’s Murder Trial

Freddie Trone, one of the men accused of murdering PnB Rock, took the stand to testify in the trial regarding the rapper’s murder on Monday. In doing so, he denied the prosecution’s claim that he drove his 17-year-old son to Roscoe’s Chicken ‘N Waffles and gave him a weapon with instructions to rob Rock.

“I understand you’re trying to put together your story,” Trone said during cross-examination, as caught by Rolling Stone. “I never had nothing to do with it, I wasn’t there, I didn’t tell nobody to do nothing, I didn’t hand nobody no gun.” He also admitted he left Roscoe’s parking lot in his Buick Enclave around 1:14 PM on the day of the shooting, but claimed he didn’t return six minutes later after picking up his son. Instead, his legal team says he went to his beauty supply shop to use the bathroom. He left his car keys on a counter nearby, but when he finished up, the keys and his son were missing.

Rock’s fiancée, Stephanie Sibounheuang, previously gave testimony detailing his final moments. Closing arguments in the case have since begun. “Freddie Trone knew the dangers of sending his 17-year-old son in there with a ski mask, semiautomatic weapon and mission,” Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Timothy Richardson told the jury. “This is the same time that a robbery and a murder is being committed, and you don’t want to tell the jury who [the driver] is? It’s because they don’t exist. It’s another lie.”

Trone faces one count of murder, two counts of robbery, and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery. Another man, Tremont Jones, is also facing charges for his alleged role in locating Rock and providing a murder weapon. He faces two counts of robbery and one count of conspiracy. Closing arguments in the trial will continue on Tuesday. Be on the lookout for further updates on the murder trial for PnB Rock’s death on HotNewHipHop.
