Tory Lanez Adds “Skate On Jake” & “Sweat It Out” To His Prison Tapes Collection

Tory Lanez is upholding steadfast promise to his fans as he drops off “Sweat It Out” and “Skate on Jake”. These are the newest additions to his Prison Tapes playlist that he announced on July 24 and started two days later. This is his way of delivering material to his fans while he serves his 10-year prison bout for shooting Megan Thee Stallion. Originally, the Brampton, Canada native was dropping two “Lost Tapes” per week which started at the beginning of last month. These are songs that Tory and his producers recorded throughout various points in his career.

Some go back to 2015, and others are as recent as 2020. They are now a part of this playlist and continue to be this week too. Additionally, though, Tory is recording new music in real time while being locked up and he had been doing that for the past two weeks. Those releases include “Cell 245”, “Wish I Never Met You”, “Shots Come For Free”, and “Know What You Need”. For this weekend of August 9, Tory Lanez is going back to the vault this time around as “Sweat It Out” and “Skate on Jake” are past works from 2019 and 2020, respectively. Also, as per usual with these two packs, Tory is constantly reminding you of his abilities to rap and belt out some singing cuts. You can give them each a spin with the links down below.

Travis Kelce’s Dad Slams Kanye West Over “Vultures 2” Taylor Swift Lyrics

Last weekend, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign unveiled their eagerly anticipated project, Vultures 2. Unfortunately for the duo, however, it looks like Travis Kelce’s father Ed is not a fan. On their track with Lil Wayne, “Lifestyle,” Weezy drops some bars about the athlete and his girlfriend Taylor Swift. “Ice up in my veins, old flames tryna melt me / I twist my Taylor spliffs tight at the end like Travis Kelce,” he spits.

Of course, the lyrics themselves aren’t too wild, but Ed appears to have taken offense. He shared a Daily Mail article about the namedrop earlier this week, throwing quite a bit of shade in his caption. “Mental illness on full display,” he wrote. This could likely be explained by the pop icon’s long and rocky history with Ye.

Following the release of Vultures 2, some fans speculated that Swift tried to troll Ye by dropping several new versions of her own latest album, The Tortured Poets Department. These arrived on the same day he released various new versions of the collaborative album, each of which included exclusive tracks featuring Kid Cudi, Kodak Black, and more. It’s unconfirmed whether or not this was intentional, but social media users think it might not be a coincidence.

A few days ago, Swift even raised eyebrows with one of her “Eras” tour outfits, as she sported a t-shirt featuring the phrase “I Bet You Think About Me.” Some thought this was a direct nod to the shoutout on Vultures 2, though this is also just a rumor at the time of writing. What do you think of Travis Kelce’s dad’s response to Kanye West’s lyrics about his son and Taylor Swift? Melyssa Ford & Lucky Daye Share A Steamy Onstage Moment, Fans Wonder About Joe Budden’s Reaction

Lucky Daye is quite the impressive live performer, and the singer drove fans wild at a recent show with not just his buttery tone but with his special guest, the legendary video vixen (now best known as a co-host on The Joe Budden Podcast), Melyssa Ford. Moreover, she sat on a stool onstage while Daye serenaded her and put her hand on his stomach, with some more touchy-feely interactions leading to quite the steamy display. “This was not on my bingo card but HOOTIE F***ING HOOOOOO!!!” she captioned her Instagram video of the flirty moment. “@iamluckydaye at #radiocitymusichall. Me & the boys had a slice tonite! @joebudden @emannymusic.”

Actually, it’s pretty funny that she tagged Joe Budden, since a lot of fans started to joke and theorize as to how he and the rest of thee podcast’s cohort would respond to this Melyssa Ford and Lucky Daye moment. Maybe they will give Daye his props, tease Ford for appearing, or comment more about fans’ reactions to the whole thing. Either way, it should make for a pretty entertaining and interesting moment on the pod, at the very least. Who knows, maybe the Algorithm artist even pulls up to talk about the concert.

Of course, we know that these jest-heavy and more cheeky moments on The Joe Budden Podcast can result in some controversy from time to time. In fact, he and his male co-hosts faced recent backlash for their relentless teasing of Melyssa Ford during a recent podcast episode. Even though some folks made excuses about her being “one of the guys,” others suggested that these are indicative of more potentially harmful attitudes. Still, it’s a small moment to use as a generalizing tool, so it’s a futile effort either way.

In other Melyssa Ford news, Toccara Jones recently recalled when she and Melyssa Ford found out that they were dating Drake at the same time. “She was just telling me about her situation with the guy that she was dating and she went on to tell me it was Drake,” Jones recounted. “Instead of me telling her right then and there, I wanted to go talk to him first. This wasn’t the first time that me and Melyssa was seeing or talking to the same guy.”

Kodak Black Seeks Violence On Ominous “Hit Stick”

Kodak Black is daring anyone and everyone to step to him if they wish on his latest single “Hit Stick”. This track is immediately following up on a handful massive features. The most recent are for Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s VULTURES 2 and you can hear him on “FIELD TRIP”, as well as the YEEZY.com exclusive “DRUNK”, which also features Peso Pluma. Going back just a little further to June, him and Don Toliver’s “BROTHER STONE” showed that these two starkly different artists could coexist. Also, in that same month, Kodak and his Vulture Love signees would put out their first posse tape Vulture Love Presents: The Last Zombies on Earth.

So, yes, the Florida rapper has been busy lending his time to other artists as of late. Because of this, possibly, Kodak Black felt the need to come back hollering on “Hit Stick”. Here, you’re getting nothing but the business from the MC as he dishes out threats to his enemies. “Blitz a n**** s***, hit stick tackle
Soon as the Spyder whip, get off the streets, swing it right after, mm / I get on a bih, nothin’ make me back up / Think I got a bih, oh, he sleep, come here, boy, smack ’em
“. This intimidation display is done over an epically dark and grand instrumental with ear-piercing string sections. Kodak is definitely back, that is for certain.

Pras Blames Lauryn Hill’s “Reputation” For Last-Minute Fugees Tour Cancelation

Earlier this week, it was announced that Lauryn Hill canceled the North American leg of her upcoming Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill anniversary tour with the Fugees only days before it was scheduled to begin. While this certainly left fans disappointed, most weren’t surprised. Hill doesn’t exactly have a perfect attendance record and is known to arrive late or cancel shows altogether.

Shortly after the announcement, Hill took to Instagram to provide fans with an explanation for the last-minute cancelation. According to her, “some media outlet’s penchant for sensationalism and clickbait headlines have seemingly created a narrative that has affected ticket sales.” Her statement prompted a bit of backlash from some fans. They think Hill should shoulder at least some of the blame for her infamous reputation.

Her fellow Fugees performer Pras seems to agree. Recently, he told TMZ Hip Hop that he too finds her frequent tardiness disheartening. “I saved her reputation for 20 years by not telling my side of the story,” he said. “But oops … cat’s out the bag.” At the time of writing, the Fugees are still scheduled to proceed with dates in the UK and Europe. Pras also tells the outlet he hopes these go on as planned, and that they should as long as fans buy tickets.

What do you think of Lauryn Hill canceling the North American leg of her Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill anniversary tour with the Fugees days before it was scheduled to begin? Are you surprised she’s receiving backlash for it or not? What about Pras’ take on the debacle? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Quavo & Lenny Kravitz Team Up For Electrifying New Single “FLY”

unnamed 35

Following the success of his recent Hot 100 hit “Tough” with Lana Del Rey, GRAMMY nominated artist Quavo (Quality Control Music/Motown Records) is back with another impressive release, “FLY.” This single offers a fresh take on Lenny Kravitz’s classic 1998 track, enhanced by Quavo’s distinctive style and melody. Quavo’s lyrics, “Flyest in the room, who Flyer than you? / Flyest in the room, you just past the moon?” are complemented by Kravitz’s newly recorded vocals, bringing a renewed energy to the song.

The accompanying video, directed by Jake Nava, showcases Quavo and Kravitz as a dynamic duo, delivering a captivating performance. Their synergy is palpable, creating an electrifying atmosphere that translates through both the music and visuals. Quavo and Kravitz’s collaboration follows their connection earlier this year when Quavo honored Kravitz at the BMC dinner. Kravitz, a celebrated rockstar, continues to make waves in the industry with his latest album, *Blue Electric Light*, released earlier this year.

Earlier this month, Quavo released “Tough,” a pop-infused track with Lana Del Rey. The song, which explores new musical territories for both artists, has been well-received by major outlets like Rolling Stone, Complex, and Billboard. Currently, “Tough” is holding strong at No. 61 on the Billboard Hot 100. Quavo also made headlines in Atlanta recently when he appeared alongside Vice President Harris at a rally, supporting her stance on gun control and endorsing her run for the presidency. Quavo’s new white cognac, White X, created in partnership with Sazerac, makes a cameo in the video upon the brand’s nationwide launch. Quavo’s latest foray into the spirits industry is just another step for him to become one of music’s preeminent entrepreneurs.

Polo G Goes To The ‘Darkside’ In His Confessional New Video From ‘HOOD POET’

After months of delays and setbacks, Polo G was at last able to release his fourth studio album, HOOD POET. An acronym for “He Overcame Obstacles During Pain or Emotional Trauma,” the title turned out to be prophetic, as Polo had to deal with multiple arrests and a raid on his Los Angeles home while trying to promote the album. Still, he persevered, and the album is out now via Columbia Records.

Its release is accompanied by the video for “Darkside,” a standout, confessional inclusion, in which Polo vents about some of the aforementioned traumas and tribulations of his life. “I might never cough again from all that mud that I was sippin’,” he recalls. “Missin’ school every day, but on that block, perfect attendance / Bein’ broke the root of evil, it’ll turn you to a menace / It’s so hard to beat the odds when we was taught to be statistics / In this life, you only see the graveyard or go to prison.” The video sees him performing in a desert wasteland, flanked by a pair of armed guards. He’s been lifting too.

The Chicago rapper released four singles prior to the album: “Barely Holdin’ On,” “Sorrys & Ferraris,” “Angels In The Sky,” and “We Uh Shoot” with Lil Durk.

You can watch the video for “Darkside” above.
