Joe Budden Speculates That Tory Lanez Was Set Up In Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Case

Earlier this week, a statement from Tory Lanez’s former driver Jauquan Smith was released, in which he discusses what he saw on the night of Megan Thee Stallion’s shooting. Smith insists that he didn’t witness Meg get shot, but alleges that he saw her ex-bestie Kelsey Harris grab a gun away from Lanez. The statement sparked a conversation about the case in a new episode of The Joe Budden Podcast and led Budden to share an interesting theory.

Budden revealed that he speculates Lanez was set up, though he doesn’t think Meg was behind it. “First of all, I think it’s above her,” he explained. “I don’t think she made it up. It’s above her. She’s a mere pawn in this. This play is greater than her. She didn’t make nothing up.”

Joe Budden Has An Interesting Theory

He went on, speculating that the gun used to shoot Meg was planted in Lanez’s car. “I ain’t gon’ say who I think made it up but it wasn’t her,” Budden said. “Actually, ni**gas out there know who it is. I ain’t saying it on this broadcast but I know exactly who it is, I know how that gun got there, I know who gun it was.” He then brought up Harris, who was a key witness in the case, and a private chat they once had about it.

“I thought it was weird that the last time we talked about this sh*t, Kelsey [Harris] jumped in my DMs talking ’bout, ‘Hey, don’t talk about this no more.’ Why? You got immunity. It’s odd. Why wouldn’t you want somebody to talk about one of the biggest cases in however many years? That was odd to me,” he added. Earlier this week, he took to Instagram to share a series of cryptic photos. In one of them, he’s seen standing in a studio holding a bass, seemingly indicating that he was working on new music.

Of course, this doesn’t exactly confirm that Ocean has something on the way. Regardless, it’s prompted mixed reactions from social media users. While most can’t wait to hear whatever’s to come, others think they could do without another album. “We as a society have moved past the need for Frank Ocean,” one person said in response to the apparent teaser.

As expected, the critic’s comment sparked a major debate among loyal fans, who definitely don’t agree with their claim. “We? Who’s we?” several fellow users wonder in the replies, claiming that society might need Frank Ocean more than ever. “Speak for yourself,” another demands. A few commenters are coming to the critic’s defense, however, arguing that they’re no longer interested either after so long. “So true, ever since that Coachella ‘performance’ and him always teasing MAYBE dropping more music, it’s like bro whatever,” one writes. “Agreed,” someone else says simply.

Either way, it looks like there’s certainly something in the works. Earlier this month, Ocean’s longtime collaborator Michael Uzowuru also confirmed they were back in the studio during an interview with The New York Times. Lil Yachty Admits He Regrets Speaking On Drake & Kendrick Lamar’s Feud

Lil Yachty says he wishes he never addressed the viral feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Reflecting on having done so during an appearance on the Flagrant podcast with Andrew Schulz, Yachty explained that nothing good came from speaking on it. “I just wish I had never spoke on it,” he said. “I wish I hadn’t said anything about it.” While he didn’t elaborate on his feelings, he previously discussed the beef during an episode of his own podcast, A Safe Place.

“Drake was deemed a loser in this battle before it started, because people don’t like him, and haven’t, and he’s won for a very long time,” he said in an episode from May. “And he’s sat at the top of the throne… honestly, respectfully, I think he still sits on top of the throne. I think that even if opinionated masses would say that Kendrick won, I don’t think that people are going to stop listening to Drake and Drake’s career is going to flush, you know?”

The use of “Not Like Us” isn’t the only involvement hip-hop got during the night. Megan Thee Stallion also performed on stage. “Now I know my ladies in the crowd love their bodies. If you want to keep loving your bodies, you know who to vote for,” she said before launching into song. Quavo also spoke about the issue of gun violence and the death of his Migos partner, Takeoff. “One of these issues that I care about is resolving the gun violence issues,” he told the crowd. “You can’t understand the struggle of gun violence if you not in the field or in the heart of it. So, one thing I learned from working with Vice President Harris is she always stand on business. From inviting me to the White House last year to discuss these solutions, to passing the biggest gun safety laws today.”

He announced his role as Doctor Doom at San Diego Comic-Con on July 27, and the moment later went viral on social media. In footage from the event, he dramatically rips off his mask, then the crowd unsurprisingly goes wild.

Of course, fans are looking forward to seeing RDJ’s comeback, though the announcement also reignited conversation around Jonathan Majors. Majors previously played Kang, and was set to reprise the role in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which was announced a couple of years ago. Late last year, however, he was found guilty of assaulting his ex Grace Jabbari. Marvel cut ties with the actor as a result.

The announcement left fans to speculate about how bummed Majors must have been over the news, which he confirmed during a recent chat with TMZ. The outlet caught up with him in West Hollywood yesterday, where they asked him if he was upset about Marvel Studios’ decision to go a new direction. As expected, he is, as he grew fond of his iconic character. “Yeah, heartbroken,” he explained. “Come on, yeah, of course. I love him. I love Kang.” They went on to ask Majors if he’d ever be interested in playing Kang again in the future. According to him, he’d be in if that’s what fans and Marvel Studios want.

“Hell yeah. … If that’s what the fans want, if that’s what Marvel wants, let’s roll,” Majors confirmed. You have the unforgettable quotes like, “You played yourself”, “you smart, you loyal”, and of course, “another one”. Also, you cannot forget the countless videos such as the one where he crashes the golf cart and says, “life is like Roblox”. As of recent, though, he might have another one on deck. Across all social media platforms, a video of DJ Khaled’s ice cream freezer is going insanely viral. In fact, according to AllHipHop one repost of it has over 12 million views and counting.

In the clip, Khaled opens up his freezer, which reveals a stash that is almost as big as a small ice cream shop’s. It features tubs of Breyers, pints of Haagen Dazs, Ben & Jerry’s, Jeni’s, as well as dozens of other frozen treats. Before choosing his sweet snack, Khaled calls his son over, Asahd, to help him make a decision. He eventually selects an Oreo popsicle and before the video ends, someone holding the camera hands him a box of Fat Boy ice cream sandwiches (coincidence or staged?).
