FERG Drops Rambunctious Banger “FERG STRONG”

After such a long hiatus from two of the A$AP Mob’s biggest stars, it is great to see them back in action this year. In terms of A$AP Rocky, he is presumably dropping his long-awaited album DON’T BE DUMB on August 30. His fourth studio tape will end a six-year drought and will be the follow-up to 2018’s TESTING. As for A$AP Ferg, aka FERG, he has been active on the singles and features front in 2024. He made his return a little over a month ago with the YouTube exclusive release, “MDMX”. Since then, the “Shabba” lyricist has gone on to put out two more solo cuts and features for Trae Tha Truth and Denzel Curry. However, FERG is showing that he does not intend on slowing down anytime soon as he drops off “FERG STRONG”.

This single came out of nowhere, as the New York native announced it on his Instagram alongside a intense workout video. FERG along with some close friends are getting a full body pump at a local park it appears. “FERG STRONG” perfectly embodies that visual, as the record is extremely intense and aggressive from beginning to end. The beat, provided by tweektune, is loud but not over the top. The drum pattern, rumbling 808s, and swirling synths create a fire environment for FERG to roam in. In typical fashion, he brings various cadences and loads of energy. Hopefully, “FERG STRONG” gets a wider release. However, he seems content with keeping it limited. Childish Gambino has fans feeling as free as he seems on his brand-new single “Lithonia”. The veteran multi-talent just released the lead-off track for Bando Stone & The New World moments ago and it is already receiving heaps of praise. Honestly, it is well deserved, as the song beautifully produced and evokes a lot of emotion. Massive credit goes to Gambino, but also the additional producers who were brought on. They include Ludwig Göransson, Max Martin, and Michael Uzowuru, and the instrumentation perfectly matches the tone of the song. From the grand organ in the beginning to the rockin’ guitar licks, it embodies the feeling you get when you release all the stress off your mind.

It seems like that will be a heavy focus thematically speaking for Gambino on his presumed final album. Donald Glover has stated already that this is essentially the sendoff for his onstage moniker. Additionally, Bando Stone & The New World is going to be the accompanying soundtrack for his film of the same name. He is going to be wearing a lot of different hats, as he is directing, acting, and of course composing. While we now know the release date for the project, July 19, we are all still in the dark about when the movie will land in theaters. Gambino did premiere the trailer just yesterday and it will be about a former musician stranded on an island in an apocalyptic world.

Joe Budden Debates Whether Drake Is An Outsider In Hip-Hop Amid Kendrick Lamar Feud

Joe Budden discussed Kendrick Lamar’s criticism of Drake as being a “colonizer” in hip-hop during a recent appearance on the BagFuel podcast. While he didn’t come right out and agree with the take, he discussed the merits of Lamar’s argument. On his viral diss track, “Not Like Us,” Lamar raps: “You run to Atlanta when you need a few dollars / No, you not a colleague, you a f*ckin’ colonizer.”

“Culture is where Kendrick was shifting his conversation: how do you dress? Who’s your barber? Are you a good dad? Can you dance? Your slaps? What’s your hood? Did you have a nickname growing up? Sh*t like that is what Kendrick was leaning into to,” he said. “Those people, I believe, created hip-hop.”

The Bronx, New Yorker has been taking her sweet time since the release of her GRAMMY-winning debut full of hits, Invasion of Privacy, back in 2018. However, even with it being over six years in between projects, she still has incredible pull. Cardi B’s last few solo singles such as “Enough (Miami)”, “Like What (Freestyle)”, “Bongos”, and “Hot S***” all have over 24 million streams each. Additionally, he influence is still there, as she recently won the Hollywood Unlocked Inspiration Award. Overall, the details on the hitmaker’s next album are extremely muddy.

All we can really assume right now is that those songs we mentioned are potential tracks for the project. We have no word on an artwork, features, a title, and most importantly, a release date. For now, fans of Cardi B are going to have to continue to sit around and wait patiently, although that is already highly unlikely. In fact, viewers of the 2024 BET Awards were hopelessly searching for any sort of clues about the tape. Cardi wore a bedazzled jersey with the number “11” on it and some were speculating that it could mean that CB2 is dropping in November on the 11th day of a random month.
