Ice Cube Asks People To Stop Calling Him A “GOAT”

Even though Ice Cube is one of the most iconic, influential, and important rappers to come out of Los Angeles, he’s not a fan of being called one of the greatest of all time. Moreover, the N.W.A. legend took to Twitter to voice his frustration with the title, although he thanked fans for the respect. “For those who think it flatters me, please don’t call me a f***ing goat. Carry-on,” he tweeted recently. “Don’t get me wrong. I appreciate the respect but don’t call me that.” Still, the California native didn’t clarify exactly why he doesn’t like the popular acronym.

Moreover, this leads to many theories as to why Ice Cube doesn’t want to be called the GOAT. The thought that maybe he doesn’t understand that it’s acronym to being with, and not actually a comparison to the animal, is unlikely. After all, he said he appreciated the respect, so maybe the 54-year-old thinks that other MCs are more deserving of the title. However, maybe some would think that’s not as competitive as he can be, so perhaps he has an issue with the imagery or viral proliferation of the title? Either way, it’s ultimately his thoughts, and one that’s innocuous and harmless enough for fans to respect.

Ice Cube Doesn’t Want A “GOAT” Label

Regardless, whether it’s old heads or the next generations to come, we doubt there will ever be a time in which O’Shea Jackson is not in that conversation. In fact, with a new album to look forward to, maybe Ice Cube will get even more of the flowers he deserves. Through at least two decades of dominance and definitive records, he established himself as a premier lyricist and a defining figure in West Coast hip-hop. Other than that, the actor and businessman found success in other areas that still failed to dilute or diminish the significance of his pen.

Meanwhile, this will always be a contentious debate, whether you’re talking about fellow Cali titans like Tupac, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, and many more, or comparing him to East Coast or Southern contemporaries and superstars. He definitely deserves the praise, but maybe there’s another name we can find for him. Until then, we’ll have to hold our tongue and simply call him one of the best artists to grace the genre- if he’s okay with that, of course. Plies is one of Donald Trump’s biggest fans; not because he likes him (far from it), but because he loves to talk about him online. First, it was him clowning the former president for his various criminal indictments, going so far as to make his mugshot his profile picture on Twitter. Now, though, the rapper took to the social media platform to speak a little more seriously on 45’s policy hypocrisy. Furthermore, it concerns Trump’s views on looters, which are pretty radically unforgiving when it comes to what punishment they deserve. However, as the Florida native pointed out, this goes contrary to what many of his followers did at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

“When they’re there, they’ll knock the hell out of you, and kill you in some cases,” Donald Trump said of “looters” during a recent speech in Anaheim, California. “We will immediately stop all of the pillaging and theft. Very simply: if you rob a store, you can fully expect to be shot as you are leaving that store. Shot!” When Plies saw this, he couldn’t help but ask the million-dollar question. “I Wonder Why He Wants To Shoot & Kill The Looters?????” he tweeted. “Why Didn’t He Think Someone Should Shoot The People Who Stormed The Capital (Jan. 6th)???”

Lil Tay Plays Piano And Metallica While Flexing Musical Talent

Lil Tay continued her bizarre return to the public eye with the 14-year-old showing some serious musical talent. In a new livestream, Tay took to the piano to beautifully play a classical piece. Several people in the comments took to calling her “Taytoven” due to her ability. Later in the same stream, she moved from piano to guitar and near-perfectly played the ever-daunting Metallica classic, “Master of Puppets”. While Tay’s original internet persona was all about shock value, she is very clearly trying to forge ahead with her sheer talent this time around.

Furthermore, she also dropped a music video for her new single “SUCKER 4 GREEN”, which is a catchy if generic dance-pop number. While Tay and her mother, whom she now lives with, have expressed an interest in Tay genuinely pursuing music, not everyone is a fan. Of course, there are going to be haters. However, many people expressed exploitation concerns given the fairly sexual content of “SUCKER 4 GREEN”, especially given that Tay is 14.

However, Tay has also begun to open up about where she’s been since disappearing abruptly after becoming a viral star at age 8. In a recent livestream, Tay made disturbing allegations against her father, Christopher. Tay, whom Christopher consistently referred to as “Claire” during the recent death hoax, labeled her father as a sexual deviant. She alleged that her father used Craigslist to seek female companionship and that his current wife, Hanee, is a “scammer”.

Furthermore, and perhaps more disturbingly, Tay alleged that her father would perform sexual acts in front of her. “Inappropriate sexual behavior” was reportedly “normalized” in her father’s house. Additionally, Tay said that her father would “do the most out-of-pocket sexual shit” in front of her. While shocking, some people have already called cap. Some have pointed to the aforementioned “SUCKER 4 GREEN” video as proof that Tay has not moved to a better environment.

Maxo Delivers His Second LP Of The Year With “Debbie’s Son”

One of the rappers who is doing it a bit differently from the rest of Los Angeles talents is Maxo. Born In 1995, Maximillian Allen, is specifically from Ladera Heights, California, according to his Genius annotation. As a few rappers have, their first true passion was sports. The same rang true for Maxo, as he was really into playing basketball growing up. However, that all changed for him when his brother, who used to go by Sharp, got him into making music.

He does not rap anymore, but it had a lasting impact on Maxo. Things began to pick up career-wise in 2015 when he put out his first-ever project, After Hours. The EP was released under an Alaskan cassette label called Burnt Tapes. After gaining some momentum off of that release, he then hopped over to another label called LOVETURL. There, he put out his second release, SMILE, three years later.

Listen To Debbie’s Son From Maxo

He then joined Def Jam Records in 2019. His big turning point, Maxo capitalized right away putting out LIL BIG MAN. To this day, he remains on the label and he has a new listen for his fans. Debbie’s Son comes after his release from earlier this year, Even God Has A Sense Of Humor. Maxo specializes in more lo-fi soundscapes compared to the more bouncy and modern productions coming out of the West Coast. His profound lyrics are also another key identifier for him and he is taking this philosophy as far as he can.

The gesture is a reference to the swapping of bracelets that has become a staple of Taylor Swift concerts, especially on the Eras Tour.

In fact, it was a friendship bracelet that kicked off the whole Traylor romance. “[Taylor] doesn’t talk before or after the show because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs she sings during the show. So I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her. If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets and I received a bunch of them. Moreover, a new TMZ report with eyewitnesses as sources shows that the two, if not actually flirting, at least know how to lean into that for an audience. Apparently, the reality star and football icon went to an auction to bid on a George Condo painting at the Reform Alliance Charity in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Saturday night (September 30). Apparently the SKIMS mogul started the process with a $500K bid, which the former New England Patriot one-upped. In fact, they kept that going until launching a full-on bidding war between themselves.

Eyewitnesses labeled their interaction as “super fun and flirty,” TMZ detailed, as they giggled and stared in each other’s direction. Eventually, the bid got to $2 million, at which point event organizers decided to give both Kim Kardashian and Tom Brady a George Condo painting of their own (apparently Brady got the one they were bidding for, and Kim will get her own commissioned piece from the artist). Of course, they still had to cough up $2 million for their artwork. But what dent can that make in their wallet when they sit at the top of their respective fields?
