Beyoncé Is Reportedly Planning A ‘Renaissance World Tour’ Concert Film For Release In AMC Theatres
Beyoncé‘s Renaissance World Tour is wrapping up this weekend, but Beyhive members who weren’t able to get tickets — or simply wish to relive the concert experience — may get the chance to see the critically-acclaimed concert on screen.
According to a report from Variety, the Queen Bey is apparently in talks to deliver a concert film based on the Renaissance World Tour. Variety reports that the publication spoke with sources with knowledge of the project, who said that the film would premiere through AMC Theatres.
Another source reportedly told Variety that mega-agency CAA reportedly had talks with major studios and streamers over the course of the past few weeks, alerting the key players to be ready to bid on a series of projects that Bey has been developing over the past few years. Such projects reportedly include “elements of her top-grossing 2023 live shows, elements of the long-gestating visual album Renaissance and a documentary-style account of making the record and building out the tour.”
The rumored AMC release follows news of Taylor Swift releasing a concert film based on her Eras Tour this coming October.
At the time of writing neither Beyoncé nor representatives from AMC have directly commented.
However, earlier this week, Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, shared a post on Instagram congratulating her daughter, along with Swift, for the role their tours have played in stimulating the national economy.
Erica Mena Says Bernice Burgos Is Her Skin Colour Goals, Responds To “Blackfacing” Backlash
After a rough few weeks of being one of the most-talked-about reality stars in America, Erica Mena felt that the time was right for a vacation. She and some of her closest friends are currently soaking up the sun together, and the former Love & Hip-Hop cast member has been surprisingly active on social media. Seeing as she’s still in hot water for referring to Spice as a “monkey” on Love & Hip-Hop, we assumed Mena might be fixing to take a break from the public eye. However, according to her latest livestream, she’s got plenty of exciting projects in the works, and some ambitious goals for her physical appearance.
While broadcasting to her Instagram followers, the New York native proudly showed off her curvy booty in a string-cut bathing suit. “I better leave here the same colour as Bernice,” she told her company off-camera while floating in the pool. “If I’m not Bernice’s colour, I’m not getting on that plane,” Mena said with a smile, referring to Drake’s former lover, Bernice Burgos.

Of course, it wasn’t long before Mena began to face criticism for aspiring to darken her complexion after insulting a Black woman. Thankfully, there were a few people who came to her defence. “She’s referring to Bernice because they are both of Hispanic/Latina culture. Practically saying how can she hate Black as a skin colour when her nationality produces the same skin colours,” one person inferred on @theneighborhoodtalk’s post.
“Who wouldn’t want to have Bernice’s beautiful colour?” Mena asked when sticking up for herself in @theshaderoom’s comments this afternoon. “Especially on vacation,” she continued. “The fact that I actually do get colour naturally in the sun ALL my life and it’s now being considered as me blackfacing is pathetic.”

Mena then declared, “This is ins*ne how pressed people are about someone they claim is ‘cancelled’ .” Do you think social media users are doing too much when it comes to the embattled starlet? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for more music/pop culture news updates.

Kanye West’s Timeless Classic “Through The Wire” Was Released 20 Years Ago Today
When you think about the greatest artists ever, a lot of different names from all sorts of genres might come to mind. One that you cannot ignore is Kanye West. Atlanta-born and Chicago-raised, Ye has been viewed as a polarizing visionary for most, if not all of his career. That is no secret and has not been for a long time. However, from a purely music perspective, there is not many better than him.
His debut album was proof of that back in 2004. The College Dropout is viewed by many as still his greatest body of work even nearly two full decades later. Even with others like Graduation, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and Late Registration, the original stands the test of time. With classics like “Jesus Walks,” and “All Falls Down,” it is not hard to see the vision. But, what basically shot Kanye into immediate star status was “Through The Wire.”

Relisten To “Through The Wire” From Kanye West

It is a classic because of its amazing sampling of Chaka Khan’s “Through The Fire,” but there are plenty of other reasons too. For one, some of the recordings were done right after he broke his jaw in a nasty car accident. Even with his mouth nearly closed shut he was so dedicated that he laid down vocals anyway. On top of that, it is a great storytelling track, as you can see from some of the lyrics below. Kanye continues to inspire and create some of the best material all these years later, and it is all because of songs like “Through The Wire.”
What were your initial thoughts on Kanye West’s classic song “Through The Wire?” Is this his greatest song of all time? Is he the master of sampling and telling personal stories? We want to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Quotable Lyrics:
I must got a angel, ‘cause look how death missed his a**
Unbreakable, what, you thought they’d call me Mr. Glass?
Look back on my life like the Ghost of Christmas Past
Toys “R” Us where I used to spend that Christmas cash
And I still won’t grow up, I’m a grown-a** kid
Swear I should be locked up for stupid **** that I did

Fani Willis Defends Use Of Rap Lyrics As Evidence
Fulton County DA Fani Willis has defended her choice to submit rap lyrics as evidence in the cases that she prosecutes. “I think if you decide to admit your crimes over a beat, I’m going to use it. I’m going to continue to do that; people can continue to be angry about it. I have some legal advice: Don’t confess to crimes on rap lyrics if you do not want them used. Or at least get out of my county. I’m not targeting anyone, but you do not get to commit crimes in my county and then decide to brag on it. Which you do as a form of intimidation, and not be held responsible,” Williams told reporters at the start of September.
Two notable examples of Willis submitting rap lyrics as evidence came in August. Willis submitted the music of members of the Drug Rich gang, who were accused of targeting the houses of rich and notable residents of Atlanta. Meanwhile, Willis also submitted Young Thug lyrics as evidence in the ongoing YSL RICO trial.

YSL Attorney Gave Young Thug His First Felony
View this post on Instagram
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that one of the YSL attorneys actually gave Young Thug his first felony. YSL defense attorney Suri Chadha Jimenez has claimed he gave Young Thug his first-ever felony charge. According to Jimenez, who was speaking on the nuances of the current RICO case, he prosecuted Thug on a weapons charge back in 2014. Jimenez began his career as a prosecutor before going on to set up his own defense firm. Furthermore, Jimenez’s name has popped up throughout the trial as the attorney has gotten something of his own spotlight.
Meanwhile, prosecutors in Georgia successfully lobbied for the resumption of the larger YSL trial. Thug and seven other defendants are facing a litany of charges relating to the group’s operations in Atlanta. However, it has been a long and tortured process. Despite the trial starting in January, jury selection is currently ongoing. It is unclear when the trial proper will actually begin. Meanwhile, things were complicated further when Fulton County also indicted Donald Trump and over a dozen associates on charges relating to his interference in the 2020 election.

Beyonce’s “RENAISSANCE” Concert Film Dropping In AMC Theaters, Source Claims
According to a recent report by Variety, Beyonce is in the end stages of working out a deal with AMC to distribute a RENAISSANCE concert film to their theaters. A source reportedly told the outlet that fans could get to see the project as soon as December 1 of this year. The source also adds that the deal will see Beyonce taking home roughly half of the film’s gross earnings. The deal is similar to the deal Taylor Swift recently agreed to for her Eras Tour concert film coming out next month.
Fans have been eagerly-anticipating more news of Beyonce’s RENAISSANCE concert film for some time now. Another source claims that the film will include documentary-style elements showcasing Beyonce’s process of putting the tour and album together. It’ll also reportedly include footage from some of her most significant performances from the tour, as well as pieces of her long-awaited RENAISSANCE visuals.

Beyonce’s RENAISSANCE Concert Film Reportedly Arrives December 1
At the beginning of this month, it was rumored that the icon was shopping the visual album around with various streamers and studios. Above The Line spoke with a source who revealed that the “artsy” film was directed by Nadia Lee Cohen. “It’s a visual album movie,” the source explained. “But it’s like an art film, and I’ve also heard it’s better than Black Is King.”
Apparently, she had been weighing out her options for some time, and started shopping it around earlier this year. Nothing had ever come of it, however. “I’m guessing the price and lack of replay value for the casual viewer,” the source said. “Or maybe Beyoncé didn’t like how it turned out? I don’t know…” What do you think of Beyonce’s reported plans to distribute her RENAISSANCE concert film directly to AMC Theaters? Are you looking forward to seeing it? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on Beyonce.

SZA’s Old Tweets About Other Artists Resurface Amid Drama With Teen Concertgoer
SZA didn’t like it very much when a young fan attending her SOS Tour recreated a viral meme insulting the 33-year-old’s vocal abilities, and at first, many social media users sympathized with her. However, in the hours since a video breaking down a TikToker’s experience interacting with SZA went viral, old tweets allegedly from the black-haired beauty’s account have been circulating – and they’re not very flattering.
One star who fell victim to a diss from SZA in 2011 was Queen B herself. “Beyonce looking more and more like Madonna every day,” the R&B diva wrote at the time. “Coulda swore she was Black at one point… #JustSayin.” Elsewhere on her profile, trolls dug up her take on the infamous Ciara and Rihanna feud, which found her taking aim at both of the singers. “I don’t get it!” was her thought process in February of the same year. “Neither @rihanna or Ciara can hold a note worth a d**n. One’s just worse than the other. So [what’s] the beef?!?”

SZA was Ruthless with Her Twitter Fingers Back in the Day
Interestingly, when similar sentiments were made about her singing, SZA expected better from her fans. “I don’t think you realize how f**ked up that actually is and how hurtful it was back then and how it RUINED my confidence and desire to perform live,” she lashed out in the 18-year-old’s comments earlier this year before further tearing into her in her DMs. “Before I block you, I just wanna remind you, Imma PERSON. Like, I have feelings and a life and anxiety, like anyone else, and it’s really hard to have courage to get up on stage and even wanna do my job,” the “All The Stars” hitmaker vented.
Even though SZA’s haters have gotten her down in the past, at this point in her career, it’s unlikely that the TDE artist will let a few negative comments dull her sparkle. She’s got plenty to look forward to over the coming months, including the highly anticipated Jingle Ball Tour, which the Ctrl singer is headlining alongside Nicki Minaj and Olivia Rodrigo. Read more about that at the link below, and tell us your thoughts on SZA’s old tweets in the comments.
