Young Thug’s Sister Reacts To Quando Rondo Getting Bond Before Him

Young Thug’s sister, Dolly White, believes that another famous rapper got off easy on gang-related charges while her brother remains behind bars. Moreover, she reacted on Twitter to the news of Quando Rondo getting a $100K bond on charges of allegedly leading the Rollin’ 60s gang, drug-related charges, and other crimes. Given the nature of these allegations, it’s easy to compare his sprawling indictment with 18 codefendants to that of Thug and YSL. In addition, White also lamented the unsuccessful (as of writing this article) search for jurors in her brother’s criminal case. Most importantly, she questioned why a failing system gives one person bond on these charges but leaves another in the dust.

“So quando got a bond on Rico charges but they won’t give Jeff one,” White tweeted of Young Thug’s situation in relation to Quando Rondo’s, although she’s probably not suggesting that Rondo should be in jail for more. In subsequent tweets, she elaborated on her thoughts. “Let alone found not one juror to start the process,” White wrote. “The system failing us when they won’t Free Jeff already damn.” While both cases are surely quite different, the quest for Thugger’s bond proved to be much more difficult than many likely expected.

Dolly White Laments That Quando Rondo Got Bond, But Young Thug Hasn’t

For one, the necessity of bond was stressed when the Atlanta trap pioneer was hospitalized amid reports of poor health and fatigue. Also, it’s been over a year since Young Thug and other YSL member were arrested, and yet there’s been little progress in the trial. As such, Dolly White’s clamors join a whole host of others online that beg for Thug and company’s release. Seeing other rappers’ freedom on similar charges, however unique their case may be, must be a frustrating experience. Nevertheless, hopefully this changes soon and we at least see swift development in the RICO indictment to at least keep family members out of limbo.

All that said, the 31-year-old continues to make huge impacts in the game, even from a jail cell. He just released the album BUSINESS IS BUSINESS that recently had a reordered version from Metro Boomin with two new tracks, one of which features Juice WRLD and Nicki Minaj. With that, fans are happy that more of his music is coming out amid hard times, which will surely support his family and maintain his artistic legacy. Still, it doesn’t change the fact that he’s behind bars, and that more humane and equitable treatment is all that his family asks for. A recent and egregious example of this was a crazed Cardi B fan starting a fake petition from Minaj’s neighbors to kick her out of her community. However, the Queen is still having a wild year of highlights despite these developments. For example, she just appeared on Metro Boomin’s reimagined tracklist for Young Thug’s BUSINESS IS BUSINESS. Moreover, she wasted no time in calling out various blog pages and news sources on Twitter for not getting the facts straight.

First, reports online suggested that the 40-year-old rap star bought a “Big Sleeze” chain for her husband Kenneth Petty. Although it seems harmless, Nicki Minaj was still not happy with the page spreading false information out there. “This is a blatant lie,” she tweeted. “Would you like to be added to the list of blogs making up random stories, not FAQ checking & getting sued too, boo?” However, another instance of this seems to come down more to the focus of the report rather than the report itself.

According to TMZ (now her target), a producer sued Nicki Minaj and Mike Will Made It for allegedly stealing one of their beats for Minaj’s 2014 album The Pinkprint. “Do I make beats?” she asked TMZ on Twitter. “You first on the list dummy.” Given the vagueness of the reports, it’s unclear whether Minaj is saying she wasn’t sued at all or is mad at outlets for attributing blame to her in the first place. Either way, it’s still frustrating to deal with on top of swatting incidents and other allegations of stealing song ideas and beats.

Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg were noticeably absent from the 2023 BET Awards’ tribute to 50 years of hip-hop tribute. However, the two rap titans were quite present during a studio session with Russ. The rapper dropped his latest EP, Chomp 2.5, last month, but that didn’t stop him from working on something new. In a new post uploaded to Instagram, the musician revealed that he has something in the works with the genre’s legends.

After sharing the image of the three entertainers’ names on a soundboard, Russ captioned the post, “Man, what a week, LOL the pictures don’t even come close to how insane it was. Blessed.”

Another image from the slideshow depicted Russ in deep conversation with Dr. Dre as Snoop Dogg looks on from afar. Although the recording artist did not outline what the chat entailed, Russ has been outspoken about how he found success without a major label throughout his career. Snoop Dogg has also shared gems with newer artists looking to catch a break in the music industry as an independent act.

Last year, Russ doubled down on his beliefs, saying, “I do think at some point [major labels] will become obsolete, just because the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. You don’t need them; they’re not doing anything for you that you can’t do for yourself,” he said. “I just think that some artists are not very business-minded, and they kinda just want to be the artist, so that’s why they go the label approach so that they have a team that does everything for them.”

Recently, reports emerged that Kodak Black turned himself in to authorities concerning another arrest warrant. For those unaware, these stem from his failure to comply with mandatory drug testing in connection to a July 2022 arrest for drug trafficking. Since then, the Florida rapper has been hard at work on his music while also trying to reckon with the terms of his release. After another instance of him violating these conditions, he went to prison on Monday (June 26) to seemingly address it. However, apparently this all went quite smoothly for Yak- and even wound up being in his favor.

Now, Kodak Black is free from prison on a $250K bond, though that amount has an asterisk attached. According to TMZ reports, he stopped at a Florida jail on Monday to renegotiate the stringent terms of his release in court. After all, these mandatory drug tests and pretrial meetings have apparently been weighing heavily on the 26-year-old. Moreover, his lawyer Bradford Cohen expressed that he wanted to get rid of these restrictions, and the judge in his case actually agreed. Still, the court increased his bond from what he originally paid, $75K, to $250K.

Nevertheless, he was reportedly in and out of prison in about an hour and paid the $175K difference to complete his new bond. Young Thug and Metro Boomin are here to show us that business isn’t done, and there’s still more heat to come from the former’s latest album, executive produced by the latter. Moreover, the two just released BUSINESS IS BUSINESS (Metro’s Version) as a surprise drop, featuring some changes to the original. At first glance, the most notable ones are the additions of Juice WRLD and Nicki Minaj on the new track “Money.” Also, another big change is the added track “Sake Of My Kids,” which closes off this interpretation of the project. Finally, there’s the tracklist as a whole, which rearranges the order of its previously released material.

For example, now the gorgeous and heartfelt “Jonesboro” starts the album off. Metro Boomin even explained some of the logic behind these shifts on Twitter, stating that this is his original version of BUSINESS IS BUSINESS‘s sequencing. Still, it opens up a conversation around which order of the songs you prefer, as they both have their standout choices. “Uncle M” and “Want Me Dead” pair well as two of the more menacing cuts on the album. On the other hand, if you’re a Travis Scott fan, you might prefer his back-to-back-to-back features on “Wit Da Racks,” “Uncle M” (as a sample and added vocals), and “Abracadabra” on the original version.
