Dave Chappelle Cracks Jokes About Protesters & Cancel Culture After Venue Cancels Show

As usual, Dave Chappelle is taking the protests against him in stride. The comedy legend once again made headlines this week after his show at First Avenue in Minneapolis was canceled just hours before he was to take the stage. First Avenue is the iconic venue shown in Prince’s Purple Rain, and after receiving backlash for booking Chappelle, they released a statement apologizing to people who were angered by the appearance.

“The First Avenue team and you have worked hard to make our venues the safest spaces in the country, and we will continue with that mission,” they said. “We believe in diverse voices and the freedom of artistic expression, but in honoring that, we lost sight of the impact this would have.”

Meanwhile, Chappelle’s comedy show was moved to a nearby theater, and Daily Mail reportedly sent their reps to check things out. They stated that Chappelle cracked jokes about the cancelation, adding that he would “respect” his protesters “more if there was at least one black person!” Chappelle also reportedly took aim at “Cancel Culture” while also speaking on his “difficulty using pronouns.

He also reportedly told jokes that involved his peers including “Chris Rock, Will Smith, and Louis CK.” During an exchange with people in the audience, a teenager was said to have told Chappelle that he wanted to be a comedian. Chappelle received laughs after he advised the teen to stay far away from making jokes about trans people.

Tiffany Haddish & Yung Miami Star In Diddy’s “Gotta Move On” Music Video Directed By Teyana Taylor

Just over a month ago, Diddy dropped off his upbeat breakup track “Gotta Move On” featuring Bryson Tiller. At the time, the single raised eyebrows as some thought the lyrics were targeted towards Sean Combs’ ex, Cassie, but now, it’s caught our attention once again, for entirely different reasons.

When it came time to film a music video for the song, the New York native recruited Teyana Taylor to direct the project and also had comedian Tiffany Haddish appear, as well as his boo, Yung Miami.

The former was commissioned to take on the role of Diddy’s professional vibe checker, standing security at the door while assessing would-be patrons to see if they’re worthy of entering Club Love.

“Your smile is right. Go ahead inside,” she tells one person. “Eh, eh, eh, I feel like you a little bit bitter. Ah, I think you a little bit messy. I’m gonna need you to go to the end of the line and get your chakras together,” another is guided.

Inside the club is where we could find Caresha, who had a message for all the partygoers while on the loudspeaker. “Welcome to Club Love, you know the drill! If you ain’t come to bop? If you ain’t come to have a good time? You ain’t gotta go home, but you gotta get the f*ck outta here!”

Soulja Boy Allegedly Maced By Charleston White During Confrontation

We weren’t sure what to make of the rumors about Charleston White and Soulja Boy, but for now, one of them is sharing his side of the story. Earlier today (July 22), news began to make the rounds about an alleged altercation involving Soulja and White. The rapper is known for the often verbal lashings that he gives to his peers and pop culture figures, and according to internet gossip, White was out and about when Soulja and several members of his entourage allegedly approached White.

As the story goes, White wasn’t interested in a heated conversation so he reportedly pepper sprayed Soulja and his team. Later, White hopped on Livestream to discuss the alleged altercation.

“They didn’t know what happened,” White said before laughing. “I hit they motherf*ckin’ ass one more time just for goodness sake. That man Soulja Boy said [laughs]. Man, that n*gga say, ‘Bruh! You maced me?!’ Yeah, n*gga! [laughs]… I don’t know [why] twelve n*ggas wanna talk. Next time, you n*ggas better holla with a bullhorn… You can’t just walk up to no n*gga like me talkin’ ’bout, ‘I wanna talk.'”

“I don’t want to talk to a bunch of n*ggas.” Soulja has yet to speak about the alleged exchange.

Jhené Aiko Dishes On New TWENTY88 Album, Shares Maternity Pic With Big Sean

Fans of TWENTY88 have long been awaiting a new album from musical duo/lovers Jhené Aiko and Big Sean, and while we may not have an expected release date for new music, we are getting a collaboration in the form of the couple’s first baby.

Weeks ago, rumours began floating around online that the California native is pregnant after a fan spotted her sporting a baby bump a Whole Foods, and since then, she’s stepped out in front of the paparazzi alongside her baby daddy, proudly showing off her growing belly in a skin-tight dress.

Both Aiko and Sean have been gushing about how excited they are for this new chapter in their lives, but that hasn’t stopped the media from pressing to know more about the other (obviously more important) part of the couple’s relationship – their music.

During a sitdown with Billboard, the soon-to-be mother of two opened up about what she and the “Mercy” hitmaker have been working on since their duo’s 2016 debut.

“With the first TWENTY88, we were playing characters — and that was really fun because we both like to act, and love watching movies,” Aiko shared. “Expect more theatrics on the next one.”

She continued dropping hints, revealing that she’s been working on “a few other projects” that she’s “really excited to share,” though she hopes disappointment won’t be too high if it doesn’t happen on their timeline.

“It will be when the time is right,” the R&B vocalist said. “Because I like to be intuitive with my releases.”

Just a week after dropping off a celestial solo maternity shoot, the 34-year-old shared another one with Big Sean yesterday (July 21). Check it out below, and tap back in with HNHH later for more pop culture news updates.
