Gucci Mane Takes Two Spots On Our “Fire Emoji” Playlist This Weekend

Over the past couple of weeks, our “Fire Emoji” playlist has added hits from some of the most popular female artists in the game like Latto and Megan Thee Stallion. While we’re all for supporting women in music, our most recent additions feature all male rappers– some more than once.

Starting off, Gucci Mane is featured twice on this weekend’s list. His single “Dissin the Dead” speaks about gun violence and how he started the trend of talking about the deceased. He appears again as a feature on Quavo and Takeoff’s record, “Us vs. Them.

Next up is Young Dolph’s posthumous record “Hall of Fame.” “Gotta put me up there with the greatest, man. All-star. Superstar. Hall of Famer,” he states in his intro. The record dropped on his birthday, July 27– the Memphis rapper would have been 37.

Another solo record added is “Blood” by EST Gee where he talks about living a dangerous lifestyle.

Making an appearance for the second week in a row, we have Maxo Kream with “MIXIN JUICES” featuring Babyface Ray. Joining them, with another artist-feature collab from an album, is Doe Boy and G Herbo. Titled “SET IT OFF,” the track comes from Doe’s latest project, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN.

Lastly is NAV’s three-minute, upbeat track featuring Travis Scot and Lil Baby. The Toronto rapper teased the collaboration last week, causing fans to highly anticipate its release.

Homeboy Sandman Delivers The Deluxe Edition Of Aesop Rock-Produced EP, “Anjelitu”

Nearly a year after dropping off his Anjelitu EP on August 6th last summer, Homeboy Sandman has returned with the project’s deluxe cut, boasting two new songs (also produced by Aesop Rock, just like the rest of the collection), along with instrumental of all eight tracks.

“I make art perpetually,” the Queens lyricist told Rock The Bells following the arrival of his There In Spirit effort earlier this year.

“Part of staying nimble is not only finding new sounds to rap on, it’s not only finding new flows to rap through or finding new topics to rap about. It’s also about opening up more — it’s about finding more about me to put out there.”

Just last month, Homeboy delivered his 20-track I Can’t Sell These project, which is loaded with “songs he couldn’t legally sell because he doesn’t own the rights to the music,” proving that he truly is constantly working to hone his craft.

Instagram Model, Gena Tew, Says AIDS Made Her Blind And Immobile

AIDS is the final stage of HIV occurs when the immune system has been severely damaged due to the original virus. Though it is rare, affecting less than 200,000 people every year, its symptoms can be deadly. While most people are aware of its harsh aftermath, one person, in particular, is reminding everyone of just how bad it can get.

Gena Tew, an Instagram model who has allegedly been linked to numerous men in the hip-hop industry, took to social media to detail how the disease has altered her life. She explained that she began to notice her health deteriorating, as she had trouble completing simple tasks like controlling her bowels and standing up on her own.

According to Tew, when she did get tested for STDs, she assumed that results from HIV/AIDS were included– however, that was not the case. “I was going to the doctors and no one knew what was wrong.” Some professionals assumed it was cancer, while others concluded that she was perfectly fine.

Eventually, a doctor informed her that she had AIDS. Until this day, Tew does not know whom she contracted it from, but she has informed her former sexual partners of her status– and so far, none of them have tested positive. Since becoming aware of the disease, not only has she lost mobility in her legs, but she has also gone blind in her left eye.

Something else that Tew addressed was the rumors about her former encounters. It was stated that she had been sexually involved with Nick Cannon and Chris Brown, but she has denied those claims. As of now, a GoFundMe account has been made to help her move closer to her loved ones.

Balenciaga Ridiculed Over Their $1,790 “Trash Pouch” Purse: “Name Brands Are A Bitch”

In its over 100 years as a company, Spanish fashion house Balenciaga has caused several stirs and scandals, though some of its most recent releases have the internet questioning whether the brand is conducting a social experiment, or simply trolling the masses.

If you haven’t already heard, the famed brand has begun selling $1,790 “trash pouches” that resemble the plastic bags you put in your garbage bin. The product comes in three different colours – black with a black string, blue with a black string, or white with a red string – and has already been raising plenty of eyebrows online.

When asked about the controversial product, it’s been reported that designer Demna Gvasalia explained, “I couldn’t miss an opportunity to make the most expensive trash bag in the world, because who doesn’t love a fashion scandal?”

Over on Twitter, plenty of debates have been taking place about the trash pouch. Of course, there are critics writing things like, “Luxury ‘fashion’ is legal theft. High fashion is a joke at this point. Balenciaga made a ‘trash bag’ pouch for $1,790. And on top of shit like that, a lot of you fashion n*ggas just simply can’t dress.”

Though the hate has been showing up on social media loud and clear, there are several users expressing their love for the product, even jokingly requesting that their followers send them the funds to buy one for their own collection.

Bankroll Freddie Drops “Water” Featuring Young Dolph

Bankroll Freddie is a rapper hailing from Helena, Arkansas. Known for his utilization of trap beats and lyrics that reflect his lifestyle, the 27-year-old has had his fair share of hit records. While being in the industry, Bankroll became very close with the late rapper, Young Dolph. The two collaborated on a few songs and held a tight bond until Dolph’s death last November.

Yesterday (July 29), Freddie released his newest mixtape, From Trap To Rap 2. Equipped with 13 tracks, the fifth song on the project, “Water,” featured a verse from the South Memphis artist. Lasting three-and-a-half minutes, the song mainly talked about the plethora of jewelry both of the artists own and how it all glistens. Freddie started the song by rapping, “All these chains around my neck look like a slave master.”

Making the hook memorable, he rhymed, “I got ice round my neck/Water/Watch on my wrist/Water/Ring on my hand/Water.”

Keeping the same energy in his verse, Dolph talked about being iced out in VS diamonds. He also flexed about his riches, saying, “Just made me a quarter million dollars off of two shows.”

Stream the record below. Rest in peace, Dolph.

Quotable Lyrics

Rappers come round me
And get intimidated or exposed
The streets, that’s what I chose
The streets, that’s all I know
