Lizzo And Live Nation Pledge To Donate $1 Million To Planned Parenthood And Pro-Choice Organizations

Lizzo is one of several artists who have spoken out against the overturn of Roe v. Wade. Ahead of her upcoming tour in support of her upcoming second major-label album, Special, the “About Damn Time” rapper is teaming up with Live Nation to donate a portion of the sales from her tour to Planned Parenthood.

“I’m pledging $500k from my upcoming tour to Planned Parenthood and Abortion Rights,” she said in an Instagram post. “Live Nation agreed to match— to make it 1 MILLION dollars.”

Lizzo continued, emphasizing the importance of remaining vocal and providing funds to organizations aimed toward helping people affected by today’s ruling, including Planned Parenthood and the National Network Of Abortion Funds.

“Black women & women of color have historically had disproportionately less access to family planning resources— this is a great loss but not a new one,” Lizzo continued.

Throughout her career, Lizzo has been outspoken in her support of marginalized communities. Earlier this month, she re-recorded a portion of her song “Grrls,” when fans expressed concern over an ableist slur in the song’s lyrics. “As an influential artist I’m dedicated to being part of the change I’ve been waiting to see in the world,” she said.

Lizzo’s Special tour is set to kick off in September, with guest, Latto.

French Montana Breaks Down His Role In Drake & Diddy Squashing Their Beef

This New Music Friday, French Montana’s Montega is just one of the many new arrivals to hit streamers. In celebration of his project’s arrival, the Morrocan-born rapper headed to New York City for an interview on The Breakfast Club, where he opened up about everything from his role in the squashing of Drake and Diddy’s beef to his recent comments on “the Kardashian curse.”

On the opening track, “Blue Chills,” the 37-year-old raps, “Drake and Puff back after that little beef,” prompting some of the hosts to ask him to elaborate further. “I think it was something going on, I didn’t really know the exact details of it,” he began.

“But I know I had a birthday party that Iggy Azalea threw for me on a boat, and when I got there, Drake was there waiting for me,” adding that Sean Combs had shown up on a “little boat” of his own. “That was the first time they met after they was going through they beef.”

The drama in question could stem from DJ Khaled’s birthday party in 2014 when Drizzy and Diddy allegedly got in a fight with Puff later accusing the Canadian of “stealing” the beat for his hit “0-100” track; Complex notes that this was resolved during a 2015 phone call.

However, tensions are said to have bubbled up again when the father of one delivered “4PM In Calabasas,” which some thought was a diss aimed at the 52-year-old and Joe Budden. As of 2016, things seemed to have been patched up though, as Diddy accepted a VMA on behalf of the 6ix God.

French Montana revealed that at the aforementioned party, he told Combs that he and Drake “[needed] to dead” whatever was going on between them seeing as they’re both dear friends to him.

“I’m glad they didn’t even know each other was coming to the party. When they came, they just spent the whole night talking to each other… I didn’t tell Drake Puff was gonna be there, and I didn’t tell Puff Drake was gonna be there… They was good friends before that, so when they got there they just spoke the whole night. And I’m like, ‘You see? Y’all was best friends to start with.”

Elsewhere in his sit-down, Montana addressed the bars he spit about the “Kardashian curse,” revealing he doesn’t believe it’s real. “That’s why I’m still doing my thing. I think that’s what I’m doing in the song,” he clarified.

“Shout out to them, I just feel like when you go out with them or have a relationship with them, with anybody at their calibre, I feel like the media start picking up on your relationship life and forget about your, you know, your talent life.”

Cardi B Claps Back At A Troll Who Attacked Her Daughter, Kulture: ‘Go Play In Traffic B*tch’

Typically outspoken in her political beliefs, Cardi B shared a video of herself dancing this morning, seemingly unaware of the overturn of Roe v. Wade. She eventually caught wind of the news, however, trolls had already begun flooding her mentions.

In response to someone trolling her, who has since deleted their tweet, Cardi posted a video, in which she claims she had just woken up, but even if she had spoken out, she feels she would’ve received hate regardless.

“Every single time that I talk about political sh*t, y’all get me f*cking dragged,” she said. “So shut the f*ck up, you hear me? Matter of fact, just a couple of weeks ago, I talked about, ‘Hey, watch, we’re entering a recession. When is the government gonna talk about we entering a recession?’ Y’all know what you told me? Mind [your] business, you’re rich.’ Matter of fact, every time single time that I talk about something that’s going on in the community, y’all tell me to mind my business, so suck my d*ck.”

While Cardi was met with much support from her fans, she received a large amount of vitriol from trolls, some of them even went so far as to attack her three-year-old daughter, Kulture.

“Your daughter is literally autistic,” wrote one troll, “and you’re on stan Twitter instead of making sure she’s not sticking her fingers in outlets.”

“My daughter is not autistic…You can’t call her ugly so y’all have to diagnose her with something,” Cardi replied. Go play in traffic b*tch.”

Another troll claimed Cardi was acting immature and insisted that rappers like Megan The Stallion wouldn’t spend their time hitting back at trolls online.

“You’re 30 years old, even Megan [who’s] younger than you not on the internet acting like a miserable child,” they wrote.

Cardi responded: “30,40,50 …Don’t bring my kids up on sh*t…This is all because I put a video of me dancing and y’all wanted me to talk about rod vs wade …WHY YALL BRING UP KIDS FOR? Wtf my kids gotta do wit y’all misery?”

Despite the hate she received earlier, Cardi refuses to be bothered. She later quoted Beyoncé, saying “You won’t break my soul …THATS ON GANG!”

Omarion & Mario Share Shady Messages Following Last Night’s “Verzuz”

Last night’s Verzuz battle was chaotic, to say the least, from Ray J’s disappointing vocals during the pre-show (which his big sister Brandy didn’t hesitate to flame him for) to the main event between R&B stars Omarion and Mario, there was plenty to take in. Now that the curtains have fallen and the latter has been declared the winner, both recording artists have spoken out on social media.

In the caption of a photo of a casket, the 35-year-old wrote, “YEAAA… room for 3! HAHAHAHAHAHA R&B ain’t dead @omarion but you and your friends rest well tonight.” Though some thought his gloating was a little harsh, Joe Budden dropped by the comments to say, “Nah, my n*gga deserves to talk his shit!!!”

“I spoke to @omarion after his wake last night. He woke NOW!” Mario’s teasing continued in another post. “Said I inspired him to become a full-time author. @0ryan0ryan is gonna grow the watermelons and O’s gonna write books! I’m proud of them. I know mom’s proud too. O saw her backstage and said ‘Hi!'”

Though he ultimately lost, Omarion kept the energy on his post somewhat positive, revealing that he took longer to participate in the online discourse as he had a Hello Beautiful magazine cover shoot the morning after his Verzuz show to prep for.

“I wanna take a moment to thank everyone for tuning in last night,” he began. “Thank you @therealswizzz and Timbaland for being trendsetters and providing this incredible platform for artists.”

Omarion said that he had a great time, not failing to mention that his streaming numbers have been going up since he took to the stage. “Looking forward to our next performance on July 29th at the MGM Grand Harbor in Washington D.C. where YOU will open up for me, per usual,” he teased Mario.

“And yes there will be a sound check that date and this time, we don’t use your front-of-house sound man.”

The California native then addressed all the commentary that’s been floating around online. “I love all the jokes and opinions,” he said. “Y’all are hilarious, I’m enjoying the creativity.”

“If you’re lucky enough to be in this business for 22 years you understand that at some point you will experience malfunctions,” Omarion shared. “It comes with being an artist and making yourself vulnerable to the world.”

In conclusion, he threw some shade at his “three background dancers” letting him down, writing, “I’m not surprised because this is how y’all always been even while in [B2K]. Praying for my downfall. Well, keep praying cause I’m overbooked and busy. Meanwhile, y’all really gotta get a job other than hatin on O. I heard UPS is hiring.”

Lizzo Pledges $500K To Planned Parenthood In Wake Of Roe V. Wade Overturning

It’s been a tough day for many all around the world with news of the overturning of Roe v. Wade coming out of the United States Supreme Court earlier today (June 24). In the hours since the decision 6-3 decision was made, California has acted to protect abortion rights, while states like Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Arkansas have already made moves to ban abortions, making them illegal.

Reactions have been pouring in across social media all day, from everyone from former President Barack Obama, who wrote, “Today, the Supreme Court not only reversed nearly 50 years of precedent, it relegated the most intensely personal decision someone can make to the whims of politicians and ideologues – attacking the essential freedoms to millions of Americans,” to Keke Palmer, who couldn’t help but vent her disappointments.

“I’m past disgusted [with] my country and their constant inability to protect one another’s right and keep their word,” the Jump In actress began. “How [you] overturning the wrong things? So many things to overturn that make sense. But this is what you choose?”

While many famous faces have been sharing poignant statements and petitions, “About Damn Time” hitmaker Lizzo is putting her money where her mouth is and has promised to donate a sizeable chunk of revenue from her upcoming tour to protecting abortion rights in America.

“I’d pledging $500K from my upcoming tour to Planned Parenthood and Abortion Rights,” the Detroit native tweeted earlier today, adding that Live Nation has promised to match her, making the grand total a whopping $1 million dollars.

When a fan urged her to ensure that all the money goes to abortion funds directly, Lizzo promised, “We are going to give proceeds to @AbortionFunds as well!” before thanking them.

Elon Musk’s Daughter’s Name Change Approved After She Wishes To “No Longer Be Related” To Dad

Earlier today, Elon Musk’s eldest daughter made her dreams come true by legally cutting some pretty serious ties with her famous father. As we reported this week, the 18-year-old girl he shares with his ex, Justine Wilson filed legal documents requesting both a gender and name change to help separate her identity from Musk’s.

“The fact that I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form,” was Vivian Jenna Wilson’s reasoning for requesting the switch, changing her name from the previous Xavier Musk.

As TMZ notes, the L.A. County Superior Court judge signed off on the request on Friday (June 24), with documents revealing that the young woman will receive an updated birth certificate reflecting her change in gender, as well as her new name, once issued by the state registrar.

Her new moniker appears to be a tribute of sorts to her Canadian author mother, whose maiden name is Wilson. While Elon has previously tweeted about pronouns being “an esthetic nightmare,” Vivien’s maternal figure has been more supportive of her journey.

“‘I had a weird childhood,’ my 18-year-old said to me,” the mother of six tweeted just a few days ago. “‘I can’t believe I’m as normal-seeming as I am.’ I said, ‘I’m very proud of you.’ [They said,] ‘I’m proud of myself!'”

At this time, neither Vivien, Elon, or Justine have spoken about the apparent family drama publicly, though the newly named young woman is sure to be smiling ear to ear after being granted her dream.

Ceasar Emanuel From “Black Ink Crew” Alleges Viral Dog Abuse Video Was A “Setup”

As we previously reported, VH1 made the official decision to cut ties with tattoo shop owner Ceasar Emanuel, star of the reality series Black Ink Crew, earlier this week after a video of him seemingly attacking one of his dogs with a metal folding chair went viral online. Now though, the artist is claiming that the whole thing was a setup.

TMZ ran into Emanuel in the streets of New York City on Thursday night, just hours after news broke that he had been fired. According to him, the video has been completely taken out of context – what looks like serious abuse was apparently just him “breaking up a fight” between his dogs, until one of them went for him, that is.

The business owner admitted he “wishes he could take [his actions] back,” although in the moment, “he felt like he had to back down his dogs any way he could,” adding that he felt “afraid of what would happen next.”

Emanuel told the outlet that the incriminating viral clip came from his home security camera, revealing that “he thinks someone had it out for him since the video was leaked online.”

Both dogs involved are said to be “fine now,” though Ceasar said he gave one away while enrolling the other in some “serious obedience training.”
