OBN Jay Reveals His Favorite Weed Strains On “How To Roll”

We’re back with another one. How To Roll has been one of our most popular video series for years and today, we’ve got a new episode with Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based rapper OBN Jay, who stopped by to unpack his smoking preferences, his favorite strains, and much more.

The “Big Ole” rapper went the classic route, picking out a pack of Backwoods and getting started on his rolling process. Smoking on Rainbow Sky from Cookies, OBN Jay revealed that his two favorite strains are likely Skittles and Gushers. Clearly, he’s got a sweet tooth that extends to his smoke sesh. “They’re sweet and they’re indicas,” he said, explaining why he likes them the most. As for what you won’t catch him smoking, Jay says he isn’t a fan of OG strains. “That shit make you go to sleep,” he said.

OBN Jay started smoking regularly in middle school, telling us that it helped him cope with family issues. “I wasn’t smoking much at all,” he admitted, saying that he often hung around older kids who were smoking weed, asking for puffs here and there.

K Camp Drops Off Bouncy “Game Ain’t Free”

Those looking for a silky smooth R&B banger for the start of the Summer should look no further than Milwaukee singer-songwriter and rapper K Camp’s new release “Game Ain’t Free.” The singer returns to his signature sound with this new single, floating melodically through a simple yet smooth 808-driven R&B beat. K Camp seamlessly transitions between intimate vocal melodies and fast-paced bar spitting between thumping 808 hits, proving that there is no downtime or empty space with his versatility.

The song finds K Camp reaching out to his one and only and giving himself to her. Not only can he not get enough of his partner, but his attraction to her is so overwhelming that it drives him to frustration. This single follows the release of his soulful “Life Has Changed” collaboration with PNB Rock that has racked up over 2 million streams since it dropped in April. These two singles back-to-back cement K Camp as someone to watch this year as he rises to the top of the R&B and rap game.

Check out the song below as well as our R&B SEASON Playlist on Spotify.

Russ Serves Perfect Summer Vibes With “Lucky”

Following the release of “Money on Me,” which dropped earlier this week, Russ wastes no time with a follow-up. His new single “Lucky” is a track perfect for the beginning of the summer. Over a self-produced instrumental, he reflects on how lucky he is to be with his current main squeeze. “Let’s go to Rome, maybe let’s just stay home, Baby, except we popping and everyone knows,” he sings, IG captions in the making. “Pictures in France, then we fly to Japan / Baby, except we popping and everyone knows.”

Russ has consistently been dropping new heat ever since he went independent in 2020, and following the release of his album Shake the Snow Globe, he’s been on a roll. He makes it a point to emphasize how artists should believe in themselves and not fall prey to record labels that are eager to take advantage of those on the rise.

Earlier this year, the “Ride Slow” rapper also launched his own cannabis company aimed at artists who spend long hours in the studio. He partnered with WonderBrett to release the marijuana line CHOMP. Russ has also rescheduled his Shake the Snow Globe Tour for 2022.

Reporter Who Masturbated On Zoom Call Reinstated At CNN

The Covid-19 pandemic has introduced an onslaught of issues as workplaces and conference rooms have transitioned to Zoom meetings and FaceTime calls. Among the myriad of normal issues brought on by working at home, nobody could have anticipated the specific problem brought on by Jeffrey Toobin, who was caught masturbating during a staff meeting for the New Yorker. Though he has been vacant from his positions since October, Toobin reclaimed his role as CNN Chief Legal Contributor yesterday, marking his first official return to the news world.

“I have tried, and I am trying now, to say how sorry I am, sincerely, in all seriousness,” Toobin said upon his return to CNN, offering that he “didn’t think anyone else could see” him.

He then continued: “Above all, I am sorry to my wife and to my family but I am also sorry to the people on the Zoom call, I’m sorry to my former colleagues at the New Yorker, I’m sorry to my current, fortunately, still colleagues at CNN and I’m sorry to the people who read my work and who watched me on CNN and who thought I was a better person than this.”

Though it seems he may be making his gradual return to the spotlight, he is still largely estranged from the news community. Toobin was a lawyer and a government official until 1993 when he joined the New Yorker.

Blueface Seemingly Disses Coi Leray’s New Boyfriend Pressa

Coi Leray and Pressa have been showing off their love on social media, displaying all kinds of PDA after it was revealed that the “Attachments” collaborators started dating. As the rest of the world gets caught up on who Pressa is, the Toronto rapper continues to be the butt of the joke with fans claiming that they thought he was a girl at first.

Some of the most popular comments on Coi’s posts with Pressa are from dumbfounded fans who seemingly can’t believe that Pressa is a man. People are saying that because of the rapper’s feminine facial features, they were convinced that Coi was experimenting with another girl. Apparently, her ex-fling Blueface agrees with the majority of trolls making fun of Pressa, tweeting a subliminally-charged message that some believe is targeted toward Coi’s new man.

Coi and Blueface were previously romantically linked for a little while. Blue appeared to voice his thoughts on her new boyfriend, tweeting, “Dat n***a look like a bitch.” After fans realized he was probably talking about Pressa, the LA-based rapper added, “Y’all reachin smh I’m not talm bout that.”

Despite his explanation, people are still under the impression that he was talking about Pressa. What do you think? Was he throwing shade at his ex’s new man? Check out Coi and Pressa’s latest posts.

Quavo Says He Is Not Mad At Kendrick Perkins, And Actually, It’s All Funny To Him

Quavo went on First Take on Thursday morning ahead of Migos’ newest release, Culture III, which dropped on Friday. Part of what made his cameo on the show so much fun was it gave him and Kendrick Perkins the chance to have a conversation — Quavo and Perk have been involved in a back-and-forth over the last few years ever since Perkins’ name came up on 2018’s Quavo Huncho.

The two seemed to really go at one another on the show, which raised the question: Do Quavo and Kendrick Perkins legitimately have beef with one another, or is this just two dudes having fun? In a new interview on Complex’s 360 With Speedy Morman, Quavo made clear that he’s mostly having fun.

Via Complex:

“I don’t give a damn about no Kendrick Perkins, man,” said Quavo with a smile. “He’s an analyst. He said his kids love my bars, his kids running around and teasing him. Matter fact, I’m gonna take the kids on a field trip and just leave pops at home. Settle the beef like that.” He made it clear that it’s mostly in jest, however, and that it’s just as “funny” to participate in the beef as it is to watch it all unfold.

It’s unclear whether Perkins views things the same way, but hey, at least Quavo’s having a good time with this whole thing.

Drake And Nicki Minaj Reunite In A Post Promoting The New Polo G Album

Until very recently, it had been kind of a while since we last heard Drake and Nicki Minaj together on a song, or even seen them in the same place at the same time. A lot of that was probably due to the rigors of their individual schedules and some of it might have been residual resentment over Drake’s tiff with Meek Mill while the latter was dating Nicki and a bit of it could just have been the results of growing up and growing apart, which happens to a lot of people in life.

But fortunately for fans of their tag-team chemistry, the duo recently reunited — along with Young Money founder/mentor Lil Wayne — on “Seeing Green” from the DSP version of her seminal mixtape Beam Me Up, Scotty, which she finally got around to uploading a month ago. Despite Nicki admitting that her collaborators “washed” her on the track, the result was a satisfactory conclusion that seemed to also wash away the years of disconnect between the trio, as Nicki revealed in a behind-the-scenes clip from the making of the song.

It seems that Drake and Nicki also finally found time in their busy schedules to link up in real life, as Nicki posted the first photo of them together in years on her Instagram in a post hyping her newly released collaboration with Polo G, “For The Love Of New York.” “Oh, look who stopped by, ya’ll?” Nicki purrs as Drake poses and mugs in the background. It’s unsure whether they were working on new music or just finally sharing the playdate they previously penciled in for their kids. For some fans, it’s just enough to see two of the icons of the past decade still flourishing after all this time.

Austin McBroom & Vinnie Hacker Share Fight Night Music Picks Ahead Of Their Social Gloves Boxing Match

Some of the biggest names in YouTube and TikTok will be going pound-for-pound this Friday (June 12) at the Miami Hard Rock Stadium for the highly-anticipated event Social Gloves: Battle of the Platforms. Ahead of the massive showdown, a few of the fighters, including YouTube superstar Austin McBroom of the Ace Family as well as TikTok influencers Vinnie Hacker, Ryland Storms, shared with Uproxx the songs that get them amped up and ready to rumble.

For McBroom, who will go up against TikTok topliner Bryce Hall, it’s the vibey-yet-hard-hitting 24KGoldn cut “Company” by 24KGoldn featuring Future. “Makes me feel like I’m on top of the world,” he told us.

Hacker, who will see YouTuber Deji, chose “Young, Wild and Free” by Wiz Khalifa. “I first heard this song when I was filling up my car with E10 and it stuck with me,” he said about his choice.

Popular TikTok star Michael Le, who is expected to face off with YouTuber Faze Jarvis, uses J. Cole’s “95 South” to get pumped. “’95 south’ is a raw, dope ass song,” he told us. “The energy I get when I listen to it is the exact vibe I want people to feel when they see me Saturday night. I’m goin’ in with a beast mentality, ain’t nothin shakin’ that off me.”

Storms, who will fight YouTuber Tanner Fox, happens to get his adrenaline going with Giorono’s Theme from anime series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, whereas Deji prefers to get hype off his own song “The Truth.” YouTube star AnesonGib on the other hand, who will fight TikTok’s Tayler Holder, likes to get in the zone by listening to the rambunctious “Original Nuttah 25” by UK Apache with Shy FX, which he described as “A song fit for a mad man!”

Fans can livestream the PPV fight on the LiveXLive.com Platform. If you want to catch it in person tickets are available over at Ticketmaster. Lil Baby, Migos, Trippie Redd and DJ Khaled are all expected to grace the stage with fire performances.

“It’s going down at Social Gloves on June 12, and I’m excited to be a part of it,” Lil Baby said in a press release. “It’s great to see all these YouTubers and TikTokers putting in the hard work to prepare for these fights. We are bringing big energy to Social Gloves. I’m looking forward to this day, and I’m sure fans won’t be disappointed.”

Kyrie Irving Speaks On Bruce Brown’s Horrendous Final Possession

Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets have been on a roll in the playoffs although there have been some games where the team has gone completely cold. Game 3 against the Boston Celtics turned out to be one of those games and last night against the Milwaukee Bucks, it happened all over again. The Nets struggled to score and in the end, they were defeated by a score of 86-83, which is reminiscent of a game from the 2000s.

During the Nets’ final possession, Bruce Brown had two opportunities to score the go-ahead basket which would have given the Nets the win. However, he missed by a mile on both occasions which led to a lot of slander on social media, despite his 16-point performance. After the game, Irving spoke on Brown’s missed shots and how the loss was far from Brown’s fault.

“Usually, Bruce puts us in a great position to at least have something at the rim that goes in, but tonight it just didn’t go for us. It’s not on him. It’s not on any one person. Just got to execute,” Irving said.

Despite this loss, the Nets are still up 2-1 in the series and it seems likely that they will be able to close it out. While this series may very well go six games, the Nets have more firepower and this was just a small setback in what is proving to be a deep playoff run.
