Billie Eilish Under Fire For Allegedly Using Anti-Asian Slurs & “Blaccent”

Seven-time Grammy winner Billie Eilish is facing the heat over a video that allegedly shows her saying the Asian slur “ch**k” and putting on a “blaccent”.

In the first seconds of the alleged evidence, the “bad guy” singer is seen supposedly mouthing the Asian slur under the guise of an internet challenge as the video is captioned, “if u can name every song in this i will pay you”, leaving lots of room for interpretation.

The middle of the clip is a little more incriminating, as you can hear Billie switch her tone and even hear her producer-brother Finneas ask her, “why are you talking like that” in the background of a longer version of the clip.

The most damaging evidence is presented at the end of the TikTok, showing Billie yelling in what appears to be an attempt to offensively mock Asian languages

Tiktok user @icxvy set the match to the fire when they posted the video on Monday with the caption “#billieeilishcancelled lol”.

Since Monday, the video has garnered millions of views and over 13K comments. Social media erupted with reactions claiming that this is just another example of Billie’s insensitive behavior.

Some fans claim the video is dated, possibly going back to 2015 when Billie was 14 years old and less aware of the impact of her actions. One TikTok commenter said, “yall so soft” and another commented “oh god she’s a CHILD. people make mistakes. people change.”

Billie has yet to comment on the video or set the record straight. She’s also been under fire for her alleged boyfriend’s homophobic and racist comments online, which you can read about here.

BRS Kash Samples Viral TikTok Song For “Oh No”

BRS Kash went viral on TikTok with his ultra-raunchy single “Throat Baby,” which went crazy after DaBaby and City Girls jumped on the remix. The Atlanta-based rapper, who is signed to Love Renaissance, is officially back with potentially his next big hit, sampling a popular sound from TikTok and catching onto the algorithm for his new track “Oh No.”

The dance banger was released today exclusively as part of the Madden 22 soundtrack, which was unveiled this week. The football-referencing smash will get your toes tapping and your mind ready for the gridiron.

This is the first new music from BRS Kash since his Kash Only mixtape earlier this year, despite some one-off appearances, including one for the LVRN cypher a few weeks ago. What do you think of the new record?

Quotable Lyrics:

Bust the defense, open runnin’ through somethin’
I don’t know no plays on the field, I just freeform
Caught it with the left but I’m better with my right arm
When they call Blitz, hit stick don’t mean no harm

Billie Eilish x Air Jordan 15 Teased For This Fall: First Look

Billie Eilish is among some of the biggest pop stars in the world right now and while she might be embroiled in some controversy amongst her young fans, it seems like she is unbothered. The singer-songwriter has a lot of brand deals going on right now and just last week, it was revealed that she would now be working with Jordan Brand. In fact, a highlighter yellow Air Jordan 1 KO colorway surfaced online shortly after the announcement, and it has already led to a large debate amongst sneakerheads.

Now, according to the Instagram sneaker insider @zsneakerheadz, Billie will also be getting her very own Air Jordan 15, and the mock-up for it can be found, below. As you can see, the shoe has an all-over creamy beige color, which fits with the monochrome aesthetic of the Air Jordan 1 KO which got shown off at the beginning of the week.

It has been revealed that the shoe is set to drop on September 9th, however, this date is subject to change. Once again, this is another polarizing model although considering it’s Eilish, we wouldn’t expect anything less.

Let us know what you think about this new shoe, in the comments section below.

Chris Brown & Wale Are Shooting A Music Video

It has been a while since we’ve last seen an official release from R&B singer Chris Brown, who has been missing since his early 2020 mixtape Slime & B with Young Thug. You’d have to go back even further to two summers ago for his most recent solo album, Indigo. With that in mind, fans have got to feel excited to see that the 32-year-old is shooting a music video for an upcoming single with rapper Wale.

According to The Shade Room, the music video that was being shot on Tuesday night is for the D.C rapper’s upcoming single called “Angles.” This was subsequently confirmed by an Instagram post from the singer himself, teasing the new track with interactive cover art and a brief glimpse of the song itself.

Brown notoriously has left his comments off all throughout his Instagram page, but his posts still receive an immense amount of support despite the generally cryptic captions. In teasing “Angles,” Brown had little to add to the post caption beyond the eyes and fire emojis. On the flip side of the coin, Wale has been more direct in promoting the upcoming single, drumming up hype for it on Twitter.

The two artists are mutual collaborators and have worked together multiple times in the past. Brown last featured on Wale’s “Heaven On Earth” off of his 2017 Shine record. Wale featured on Brown and Tyga’s Fan of a Fan collaborative album in 2015 on the song “It’s Yo Sh*t.”

Check out the behind-the-scenes look of the upcoming music video below and let us know if you’re excited for the song’s official release.

If you are a big fan of the Nike Dunk Low, then 2021 has been nothing short of exciting and overwhelming. With so many new colorways making their way to the market, fans have been given an abundance of choices, and in just a few months, Virgil Abloh will be giving us 50 more, in what should prove to be his most ambitious Off-White x Nike collection yet. That’s right, Off-White and Nike are coming through with 50 new colorways of the Nike Dunk Low and the collection is going to be called “Dear Summer.”

Numbers 2-49 will have a white and grey upper although the main difference will be the colors of the laces. From there, the first colorway will be a unique white and yellow offering while the 50th pair is an all-black model. This is an overwhelming amount of colorways to be released at the same time although if you know anything about Abloh, you know that he likes to go big with his projects.

Now, it is being reported by Nike that the shoe will be released exclusively through the SNKRS app and invitations will begin rolling out as of August 9th. This essentially means that the release will be spread out over a few days.

Rubi Rose Gives Cheeky Response To Fans Hating On Her XXL Freshman Placement

Unless you’ve been avoiding Hip-Hop news coverage and social media altogether, you’ve undoubtedly seen XXL’s newly unveiled 2021 Freshman Class. Blazing newcomers such as Pooh Shiesty, Coi Leray, 42 Dugg, Blxst, Toosii, Flo Milli, Iann Dior, DDG, Rubi Rose, Lakeyah, and Morray make up the list, and as usual, the Hip-Hop community has been debating the merits of this year’s Freshman Class.

As previously reported, droves of fans hit Twitter to rip the 2021 XXL Freshmen to shreds, with many Twitter users taking aim at Rubi Rose especially.

A day later, it appears that the For The Streets rapper has definitely caught wind of the social media reactions to this year’s Freshman Class, and she isn’t letting any disgruntled fan ruin her latest accomplishment. After reposting the XXL cover to her Instagram story, a fan responded to her it saying, “U make music? I thought u was just a hoe!!! Congrats.”

Rather than getting worked up about the disrespectful comment, Rubi Rose simply screenshotted the fan’s response and posted it to Twitter, writing, “you learn something everyday” alongside a winking emoji. In addition to her cheeky response, Rubi also took a moment to retweet and shine a light on the positive feedback that she’s been receiving from fellow artists like Rico Nasty.

Do you think that Rubi Rose deserved to be named a 2021 XXL Freshman?

Foo Fighters Are Re-Branding As The ‘Dee Gees’ To Release A Collection Of Bee Gees Covers

The Bee Gees have clearly been living rent-free in Dave Grohl’s head lately, and now Foo Fighters are taking their admiration of the disco icons to a new level: Foo Fighters announced today that on July 17’s Record Store Day, they are releasing a collection of Bee Gees covers.

The album will actually be credited to the Dee Gees and is titled Hail Satin!. The release will be divided into two parts (as Spin notes). The first half, dubbed The Dee Gees, will feature the band covering five Bee Gees songs: “You Should Be Dancing,” “Night Fever,” “Tragedy,” “Shadow Dancing,” and “More Than A Woman.” (Technically, “Shadow Dancing” isn’t a Bee Gees song, but it’s in the literal Bee Gees family: It was a No. 1 single for Andy Gibb, the Bee Gees co-wrote it, and Barry Gibb sings on the song.) Then, the second half of the release features a handful of live versions of Medicine At Midnight songs.

Grohl previously picked the Bee Gees’ Saturday Night Fever as an album all kids should listen to, saying, “I like myself a little party every now and then. I do like to dance. I mean, come on, let’s just go with Saturday Night Fever. If you put Saturday Night Fever on, it’s going to feel like Saturday night, but it could be a Monday morning. So, I would have to go with those three albums. It’s a good way to start.”

Check out the Hail Satin! tracklist below.

Side A — The Dee Gees
1. “You Should Be Dancing”
2. “Night Fever”
3. “Tragedy”
4. “Shadow Dancing”
5. “More Than A Woman”

Side B — Live At 606
6. “Making A Fire”
7. “Shame Shame”
8. “Waiting On A War”
9. “No Son Of Mine”
10. “Cloudspotter”

DaBaby, Lil Baby, Tyler The Creator, And More Are Performing At The 2021 BET Awards

The 2021 BET Awards are set to air live on Sunday, June 27 at 8 pm ET/PT live from Los Angeles with a truly impressive lineup of the most performers in the last 21 years. Today, BET announced that those will include performances from Andra Day, City Girls, DaBaby, DJ Khaled, HER, Jazmine Sullivan, Kirk Franklin, Lil Baby and Lil Durk, Migos, Moneybagg Yo, Rapsody, Roddy Ricch, and Tyler The Creator, among others. The show will be hosted by Taraji P. Henson and will honor Queen Latifah with a Lifetime Achievement BET Award.

The nominees are led by DaBaby and Megan Thee Stallion, who are each nominated for seven awards, including Best Female Hip Hop Artist for Megan and Best Male Hip Hop Artist for DaBaby. 2020’s Awards featured performances from Roddy Ricch, Public Enemy, Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, D Smoke, Anderson .Paak, Lil Wayne, and more, and set the blueprint for how awards shows could flourish without a live studio audience.

This year’s show will be the first with an audience since 2019, the lowest-rated show in BET Awards history, but it seems some of the lessons the network took away from last year’s show stuck; namely, the focus on performances over bells and whistles.

Tate McRae And Khalid Are ‘Working’ It In Their Bouncy New Collaboration

When this year began, we named Tate McRae as one of the year’s rising pop stars to watch, and boy has she delivered on that. The multi-talented dancer, singer and songwriter has been on a tear of late, kicking off with her Too Young To Be Sad EP in March, McRae has since released a collaboration with Troye Sivan, “You,” and a gloomy new ballad for Amazon’s Panic series called “Darkest Hour.” Today she’s back with another new big collaboration, though, this time featuring R&B “Location” darling Khalid, who is “Working” alongside her on their bouncy new single.

Tate’s rise from dance superstar to one of the year’s most prominent new pop voices is well-documented, but it seems like this new single is going to catapult her into the spotlight in an even bigger way. On the track, the two young musicians trade verses about their, well, work ethic. “I am so stoked for this song I did with Khalid,” Tate said in a press release. “I usually release a lot of songs that are pretty emotional but this one is just a straight summer bop. We had such a fun time creating this song — I seriously can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

Check out the new tune above and get ready to hear Tate and Khalid working it all summer long.
