Kevin Durant Injury Isn’t As Bad As Fans Feared

Kevin Durant is easily one of the best players in the entire NBA. Unfortunately, over the years, Durant has been injury prone. From Achilles injuries to knee issues, Durant has had to fight through a lot. Overall, this has made it hard for the star to find the consistency needed to carry a team to a title.

This season, Durant has been playing some of his best basketball. With Kyrie Irving by his side, he has shown tremendous poise, which is great news for the team. However, on Sunday night, he went down with a knee injury, this time after being toppled over by Jimmy Butler.

Luckily for Kevin Durant and the Nets, they still pulled out the win. Kyrie Irving scored 29 points and it was quite the performance by the point guard. As for Durant, he had an MRI on Monday morning where the team explored the damage done to his leg.

Kevin Durant Gets Good News

According to ESPN and Adrian Wojnarowski, Durant simply has an MCL sprain to his right knee. This means that he will not have to miss a significant amount of time. Instead, he will be re-evaluated in two weeks. Subsequently, the Nets will determine whether or not he is in good enough shape to return.

After winning 18 of their last 20 games, the Nets have built up a solid cushion in the Eastern Conference. Regardless, it will be a lot tougher to succeed without KD in the lineup. For now, it is up to Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons to carry that load.

Stay tuned to HNHH as we will be sure to bring you the latest news from around the sports world. Additionally, let us know what you think of this KD update, in the comments down below.

Ghostface Killah Releasing New Album Via STEM Player

After sharing his limited edition holiday album, Ghostface Killah is making more special moves with his music releases. The Wu-Tang Clan icon is the latest artist to partner with Kano Computing, the company responsible for the STEM Player. According to Fader, Ghostface is looking to switch things up in 2023 and offers exclusive releases via the tech giant.

The STEM Player gained wide popularity thanks to Kanye West’s Donda 2. The mogul shared the project via the circular music player that carefully isolated portions of production for an enhanced listening experience.

However, not everyone was excited about the player. Customers complained about its $200 price point, but still, it was a hit. Ghostface Killah will reportedly have two STEM Players available for purchase.

The first will be a Cream Edition which will be available for $240 and reportedly hosts five songs. The Black edition goes for $360 and features 10 songs. Both will host “video documentaries, direct meetings with the crew, and access to an exclusive Stem fest concert.” They ship to customers next month.

Additionally, fans can make their way to the STEM website, where they can stream Ghostface’s “6 Minutes” single for free until Tuesday (January 10).

Following Kanye West’s string of controversies, Kano shared a statement announcing they severed ties with the rapper.

“STEM was created and is owned by KANO, the education computer company,” the company said in October 2022. “We’ve removed Kanye’s music from our platform, and turned down his $10 million off to buy our technology.”

They continued, “Instead your money will go to a company that is focused on giving power to artists and the artist in everyone. Power based in truth and unity – not lies and hate. A portion of profits on the new STEM devices will go to the ADL and NAACP.”

SOURCE SPORTS: Lil Wayne Asks For Special Favor After Packers Miss Playoffs

Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne is one of Hip-Hop’s most avid sports fans. He has constantly voiced his love and respect for the Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Lakers and even had a close relationship with the late great Kobe Bryant. He even dropped a dedication song to the “Black Mamba” back in 2008 after his 4th championship.

Weezy is also a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan. On Drake’s “Ignorant Sh*t,” he raps, “I’m a cheese head, word to Vince Lombardi.” The Packers fan base is referred to as “cheese heads.” After the Packer’s 20-16 loss to the Detroit Lions Sunday night, the Young Money founder was one of many disappointed cheese heads. He took to Twitter to react to the L.

“Pls do me a favor and don’t call or text me I don’t want talk,” tweeted Lil Wayne.

Lil Wayne voiced his frustration with Rodgers and the Packers back in November after a previous loss to Detroit.

The Packers struggled this season as Rodgers adjusted to playing with a young receiver core. The silver lining was the late-season breakout of rookie wide receiver Christian Watson. Watson finished the season with seven touchdowns in the final eight games.

After the game, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers addressed his future, and his comments won’t spark inspiration in fans like Lil Wayne.

“At some point, the carousel comes to a stop and it’s time to get off, and I think you kind of know when that is,” Rodgers said Sunday. “And that’s what needs to be contemplated. Is it time? Also, what’s the organization doing? That’s part of it, as well. But the competitive fire is always going to be there. I don’t think that ever goes away. Sometimes it gets transferred, I think, to other things that might not ever fill that large void. But like I said, I feel good about what I’ve accomplished in this league and wouldn’t have any regrets walking away. But I got to see what it feels like once I get away from this.”

Snoop Dogg’s New Funko Store In Inglewood Finally Brings The Hobby Shop To The Hood

Los Angeles’ geography is a confusing, expansive wonder. Long Beach is a good 20-30 minutes (and a couple of freeways) away from Inglewood. But the two cities are inextricably linked by culture and demographics — and especially by music. Consider that on Dr. Dre’s 1999 hit single “The Next Episode,” the producer shouts out both alongside his hometown, Compton. His guest on the song, longtime rhyme partner Snoop Dogg, was also instrumental in the rise of Inglewood indie rapper D Smoke, in addition to Dre, Snoop, and a colorful cohort of longtime collaborators taking over the recently constructed SoFi Stadium for the Super Bowl’s halftime show last year.

So it makes sense that Snoop Dogg already has a store, Snoop Dogg Clothing, in Inglewood, right across from the stadium on the corner of Praire Ave. and Arbor Vitae St. It also makes sense that when he was looking for a home for Tha Dogg House, his new retail partnership with the Funko toy company, he’d take over a former 7-11 in the same corner strip mall, where he held a neighborhood launch party on Friday. The store — modeled after a convenience store like the one it replaced — houses Snoop’s new collection of Funko Pop! figures and an impressive array of recording artists, athletes, and pop culture icons from the collectible giant.

But what makes the store special is its location; historically, there haven’t been many hobby shops in the hood. South LA hasn’t exactly been a hotbed of nerd culture, but from the boom in media specifically targeted to the “Blerd” demographic — from the 2015 coming-of-age comedy Dope (which is set, of course, in Inglewood) to the wealth of social media influencers in that space like Julian Green (bka Straw Hat Goofy) — it’s clear that the demand has always been there, even if it was obscured by the one-dimensional gangland perception of LA’s inner-city neighborhoods.

“The beauty of Inglewood is the only thing changing about Inglewood is everything,” Snoop told Uproxx at the store’s opening. “And to be able to have a relationship with the city and to be able to have a plaza like this to bring some businesses that normally you would see in Hollywood or Beverly Hills or different areas like that is something the city needs. Inglewood’s been good to me and we’re gonna keep adding on, business after business.” He also admitted to being an avid Funko collector himself, saying that his favorite is “the one with the pigtails and number 20 jersey on with the football,” as only befits a Long Beach Eastsider.

The opening was attended by Los Angeles luminaries like radio royalty Big Boy and Inglewood’s own D Smoke, as well as social media stars such as Straw Hat Goofy (a Compton native) and other influencers from the Black geek space. Packing into the store, fans were able to be the first to purchase the Snoop Dogg Pops — mine has pigtails and a basketball jersey, a nod to the Doggfather’s close friendship with the late, great Kobe Bryant, and his Lakers fandom (Snoop insists that the only Clippers Pop, Kawhi Leonard, being on a bottom corner shelf was a coincidence). As always, Snoop graciously offered photo ops to practically everyone in attendance, even granting a fun moment to one fan when he learned her selfie was a video.

On a personal note, Tha Dogg House represents something I would have loved to have in my neighborhood growing up as a lonely nerd thinking no one else in Compton shared my interests. To see an icon like Snoop Dogg so openly embracing the hobbyist space in a place where such a thing would have once been considered weird and worthy of bullying doesn’t just give kids affirmation, but it also offers a look at the value of such hobbies. After all, if Snoop can have a Pop, and bring so many celebrities to the hood, it also shows there’s a bridge to more opportunities outside of it — not to mention, creating some of those same opportunities at home, which is just as important. That kids can grow up feeling like it’s okay to be a geek and not a gangster makes Tha Dogg House a worthy new addition to Inglewood’s changing landscape.

Terrifying Killer Doll M3GAN’s Spooky Rendition Of ‘Titanium’ Is On The Film’s Official Soundtrack

M3GAN is sweeping the nation. The Gerard Johnstone-directed film centers around “a life-like doll programmed to be a child’s greatest companion and a parent’s greatest ally,” according to the film’s official synopsis. The murderous, terrifying doll was designed by a roboticist named Gemma (Allison Williams) and voiced by Jenna Davis — and the latter has a song on the official soundtrack.

In the movie, M3GAN’s chosen lullaby to serenade Cady (Violet McGraw) with is “Titanium” (as analyzed by The Daily Beast). The 2011 hit by David Guetta featuring Sia peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 over a decade ago, and apparently, one of M3GAN’s underrated abilities is that of reviving a dance-pop earworm.

Previously, at the December world premiere of M3GAN in Los Angeles, the titular doll aligned herself with Taylor Swift. More specifically, eight M3GAN-looking dancers made “It’s Nice To Have A Friend” way creepier than Swift likely ever intended. There was also some Meghan McCain discourse sparked by McCain tweeting, “I feel personally attacked by this movie and the entire premise.”

M3GAN hit theaters on Friday, January 6, and debuted with $30 million across North American box offices, per Variety. The full official soundtrack from Anthony Willis can be found here.

“Inside Job” Season 2 Cancelled By Netflix, Twitter Reacts

If there’s any platform that has an undeniably impressive selection of original content, it’s Netflix. Over the years, the streaming service has created various fan-favourite shows and movies, though not all of them get the attention and respect they deserve. Of course, nothing lasts forever, but users certainly didn’t think we’d be seeing the end of Inside Job so early.

If you’re not familiar, the animated adult series is a conspiracy comedy that’s been markedly described as “a sendup of the ’90s sci-fi drama, ‘The X Files.’” Voice actors attached to the project include Lizzy Caplan and Christian Slater, as well as Clark Duke. It initially debuted in October of 2021, with the following eight episodes landing last November.

As per Deadline, the show chiefly takes place in the offices of Cognito Inc. The organization further exists within a shadow government, and our main characters are anti-social tech nerd Reagan Ridley and her pal Brett Hand. Together, they work to eventually uncover the infinite secrets of the world “hidden in the shadows.”

A second season of Inside Job was previously green-lit in the summer after much success. However, it appears the streamer has since changed its tune on the project, and will no longer be moving forward with new episodes.

The sad news was correspondingly confirmed by creator and showrunner Shion Takeuchi on Sunday night via Twitter. “I’m so heartbroken to confirm that Netflix has decided to cancel season two of ‘Inside Job,’” she told fans in her post.

“Over the years, these characters have become real people to me. I’m devastated not to be able to watch them grow up,” she later added.

Almost immediately, social media users consequently let their distaste for the decision well known. Across hundreds of tweets, they’ve specifically threatened to “never forgive” Netflix. Some are even joking about visiting the platform’s HQ to “talk,” with weapons in tow.

Check out Twitter’s reaction to the upsetting cancellation below. Afterward, tell us if you were looking forward to Inside Job season two in the comments.

Angela Bassett Is Proud Of Son For Apologizing Over Michael B. Jordan Death Hoax

A new TikTok trend has killed off many of your favorite very-alive celebrities, and Angela Bassett, unfortunately, was caught in the chaos. There are several trends on the popular app that gain worldwide attention, but when people began killing off the rich and famous, some people didn’t appreciate the viral moment. Recently, we reported on Angela Bassett’s 16-year-old son Slater getting caught up in the trend. It resulted in his tearful apology after tricking his mother into believing Michael B. Jordan had died.

As we recall, Bassett and Jordan famously starred together in the Black Panther films. Slater filmed his mother’s shocked reaction to learning that someone she considered family was allegedly no longer alive.

When it was revealed that Slater was pranking the Waiting to Exhale icon, he soon returned with an apology video.

“I apologize to Michael B. Jordan’s entire family, his extended family, and him directly as he is an idol of mine,” Slater said in his clip. “Taking part in a trend like this is completely disrespectful. I don’t wish any bad ramifications upon his family nor my parents, as they deserve none of the backlash.”

While at the Palm Springs International Film Festival’s Creative Impact Awards, Entertainment Tonight spoke with the actress about the controversy. It seems as if it’s something that she’s also ready to put behind her and her family.

“We all make mistakes, own up to them, take responsibility. Then hold your head up and move forward,” Bassett said.

Meanwhile, although Jordan hasn’t said a peep about the Bassett controversy, he does have big plans on the horizon. It was announced last week that on January 28, he would act as the host of Saturday Night Live. The musical guest for that episode will be none other than Lil Baby.

Goldman Sachs To Lay Off 3,200 Employees: Report

Goldman Sachs intends to lay off as many as 3,200 employees this week, according to a new report from Fox Business. It would be one of the biggest job cuts ever for the investment bank.

While the cuts will primarily affect the firm’s investment banking division, layoffs will still hit most major divisions.

Speaking during the company’s third-quarter earnings report, CEO David Solomon explained that even “against the backdrop of uncertainty and volatility in the markets, we continue to prudently manage our resources and remain focused on risk management as we serve our clients.”

The bank’s revenue during the third quarter of 2022 dropped 12% from a year ago while investment banking revenue dropped 57%. At the end of the third quarter, they maintained 49,100 employees.

The report follows Solomon’s own admission in December that the company had been looking to cut back on expenses.

“We continue to see headwinds on our expense lines, particularly in the near term,” Solomon said during a conference. “We’ve set in motion certain expense mitigation plans, but it will take some time to realize the benefits.”

At the time, reports had surfaced that the company intended to slash 8% of its workforce. Additionally, they were reportedly considering cutting the bonus pool by at least 40%.

The new wave of layoffs comes after the firm already laid off 500 employees in September.

Goldman Sachs has declined to comment on the report.

Experts expect 2023 to be a tumultuous year for the economy. Amazon announced earlier this month that it intends to lay off more than 18,000 employees.
