Boosie Badazz Trolls His Son After Rough Night At The Club

Boosie Badazz and his son have a pretty lax and grounded relationship when it comes to substances and partying out on the town. For example, he recently chastised Tootie Raww for always smoking no matter the occasion, although he did so in a pretty light and teasing manner. Moreover, the Baton Rouge rapper just added another chapter to that story after his son went a little bit too hard at the club. He published a video on social media of him seemingly throwing up out of an open car door, and responding to his colleagues and his fathers’ mocking jabs. Even though the 41-year-old would’t want Tootie to go through this, he’s at least there for him when he needs him, albeit while taking advantage of the moment for some social media laughs.

Furthermore, a lot of people debated whether this is the right thing to do as a parent. Some folks online believe that no father should expose his son in this way, while others remarking that this is just another way of showing love and enjoying the moment despite someone feeling not so well. Regardless, Boosie Badazz is much happier to deal with his son not holding his liquor on a club night than getting involved in the streets. On that note, we’re sure most folks agree that they’d rather throw up in front of their dad rather than commit crimes under his eye.

Of course, apparently Tootie Raww’s made a lot of money from “trapping,” so there’s only so much a parent can do. Still, Boosie’s cheeky jokes and breezy response to this might throw you back to when another authority figure helped you while you felt sick. Hopefully you had a similar experience to this and not a harsher reality. We may read too deep into this, but it’s a reminder that no matter what a parent thinks of their child’s life, they should always be there, even in small ways.

Meanwhile, the Trill Entertainment affiliate recently reflected on almost signing with Suge Knight before his jail stint. It’s interesting to think about what could’ve been of his career, but we’re glad that things worked out the way they are. After all, perhaps Badazz wouldn’t have been there to help his son with this and so much more. For more news and the latest updates on Boosie, check back in with HNHH.

Why Yasiin Bey Is Considered A Hip Hop Legend

Yasiin Bey, also known as Mos Def, is a hip hop legend from Brooklyn, New York, best known for his work on tracks such as “Oh No,” “Ms. Fat Booty,” and “Mathematics.” The rapper has an extensive catalog of hit solo records and serves as one-half of the iconic hip-hop duo Black Star alongside fellow Brooklyn MC Talib Kweli. Though many young listeners may not be familiar with Yasiin Bey’s work, a brief glance at his bio showcases his versatility and influence on the modern rap sound.

Currently, the rapper is making headlines in the news for referring to Drake as a pop star who makes commercial music for mass consumption. While these comments are objectively true, some have taken issue with Yasiin Bey’s wording, misinterpreting the comments as a diss. Regardless, hip hop heads have long revered the legendary emcee for his thoughtful lyrics, capable rhymes, and powerful social commentary. Here’s a brief look at Bey’s career, examining the artist’s life and legendary career.

Early Life & Career Start

Yasiin Bey was born Dante Terrell Smith and raised by his mother in Brooklyn. In his youth, Bey encountered a range of traumatic issues in his community, including gang violence, drug use, and poverty. A particularly traumatic moment occurred when the rapper saw a car hit his five-year-old brother. Though his younger brother survived the incident, Bey chose to avoid the streets as much as possible in the years following the event.

To stay away from crime and poverty, Yasiin Bey took up acting at a young age. By the time he was a Sophomore in high school, he had already flown out to Los Angeles to film a season of the short-lived sitcom You Take The Kids and appeared in leading roles in multiple stage shows. Before long, Bey quit school to perform full-time. As he began to launch his rap career, he had already shared the screen with legendary performers of both music and film, including Michael Jackson, Bill Cosby, Deion Sanders, and many more.

Later, Bey launched his solo rap debut Black On Both Sides under the moniker Mos Def in 1999, with the chart-topping single “Ms. Fat Booty.” Throughout the early 2000s, Mos Def found massive success in both film and music by frequently collaborating with the likes of Kanye West, Q-Tip, Dave Chappelle, and many other prolific artists. His largest screen acting credits include works such as 2003’s The Italian Job, 2005’s The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and a 5-episode stint in the Showtime series Dexter.

Name Change & “Retirement”

In September 2011, the rapper elected to legally change his name to Yasiin Bey and retire the Mos Def moniker. He explained that after years of cultivating a diverse media career, the title of Mos Def had become more of a product or brand than an actual person. During interviews, the rapper clarified that close friends and family members had been calling him Yasiin for over a decade. He expressed his readiness to officially adopt the name in all aspects of his life.

The name Yasiin is derived from the 36th surah of the Qur’an, holding special significance for the artist formerly known as Mos Def due to his roots in the Islamic community. During an interview with The Guardian, the rapper explained, “Mos Def is a name that I built and cultivated over the years, it’s a name that the streets taught me, a figure of speech that was given to me by the culture and by my environment, and I feel I’ve done quite a bit with that name… it’s time to expand and move on.”

In January 2016, Yasiin Bey announced his retirement from film and music. His final screen acting credit came later that year for his appearance in the film Tour de France. His final album, December 99th, serves as a collaborative effort with producer Ferrari Sheppard and debuted in December 2016. Despite his claim to retire, Bey has continued to tour and appear on tracks as a featured artist. In March 2019, he performed songs from an unreleased album, Negus, at Art Basel Hong Kong. According to a press release from the artist, the album is not intended for mass consumption through digital or physical means. Instead, he plans to release the music exclusively through a series of live installations.

Podcasting, Future Ventures, And Return To Black Star

In 2021, Yasiin Bey teamed with Dave Chappelle and Talib Kweli to launch The Midnight Miracle, a podcast series available exclusively through the subscription-based platform Luminary. As part of an ongoing promotion for the podcast hosting service, Kweli has released several albums available only through streaming on the Luminary app, including a Black Star reunion project with Bey in 2022. Though the long-awaited project No Fear of Time has gained a cult following by die-hard fans of the duo, the inaccessibility of the platform has left many fans to miss out on the 2022 release.

Still, this marks a turning point in Yasiin Bey’s career, leaving many fans to wonder what’s next for the visionary artist. For now, only time will tell, though Bey has continued to tease new music since his alleged retirement.

Boosie Badazz Says He Nearly Signed With Suge Knight Before Prison Sentence

Boosie Badazz says that he met with Suge Knight back in the 2000s, prior to his prison sentence, to discuss signing with Death Row. Appearing on VladTV, Boosie claimed that people had told Knight he could be the “next 2Pac.”

“Before I went to prison, Suge came down there to Baton Rouge in ’09/’08, he was talking about signing me. People was telling him I was his next 2Pac.” He didn’t go into details besides confirming he was interested in signing to Death Row. “Everything happen for a reason. When I’m down with you, I’m down with you. I’d have been beefing with everybody Suge would have been beefing with,” he added.

Boosie’s revelation about Death Row comes after he recently came to the defense of 2Pac’s legacy on social media. When T-Pain argued that Pac’s lyrical prowess wouldn’t hold up in the modern era, Boosie called him out on Twitter. “Why PAC still hittin n yo favorite lyricist Not? I don’t like when y’all sh*t on 2Pac,” he said at the time. “If he was living YALL wouldn’t step r talk about PAC n then death row n****s! 2Pac was a great lyricist. U probably wouldn’t understand him if u never been through the struggles that this world brings! @TPAIN I disagree the lyrics n songs these days last a couple years n there gone because they don’t have meaning. The lyrics don’t touch your heart.”

Boosie Badazz Recalls Meeting Suge Knight

Lupe Fiasco & Kid Cudi Beef: Unpacking Their Feud

Over the course of almost ten years, Kid Cudi and Lupe Fiasco have kept up one of the oddest and seemingly pettiest hip-hop beefs in recent memory. Its origins center around a near-encounter at a BAPE store over fifteen years ago and a debacle over Fiasco allegedly exploiting his fans for quick money through expensive per-request verses. However, they admire and praise each other’s work and companionship through Lupe’s early support of Cudi and his personal struggles. This long-running tale of rivalry is that of avoidance, principle, and the importance of a one-on-one conversation. First, let’s start in 2008, back when Mr. Rager was just Scott Mescudi, a BAPE store employee.

One day, the Chicago lyricist arrived, and Kid Cudi went downstairs to avoid him until he left, which he said was because he didn’t want any famous rappers seeing him at his job because, he felt that when he would eventually get famous, they might bring up this past against him in future beef. What’s ironic is that Lupe Fiasco ended up feuding with him anyway for unrelated reasons. Regardless, the Cleveland native thanked Lupe for his support in a 2010 Complex cover story. “There’s one artist in this game who has always had my back and had nothing but love to show, and that’s Lupe Fiasco,” Cudder remarked. “Every time I see that man, it’s nothing but love. I saw him a little after it, and he was like, ‘I’m worried about you, man, just checking in.’ He’s somebody who I know really genuinely gives a f**k.”

How Did This Beef Start?

Kid Cudi Lupe Fiasco Beef Timeline Hip Hop News

Their beef really began in August 2014, when Kid Cudi questioned Lupe Fiasco’s financial decision to charge fans $500 for a personalized verse. The DRILL MUSIC IN ZION legend felt blindsided by his colleague and friend and clapped back by referencing Cudi’s own expensive fashion collaborations. In January 2015, they battled again over Azealia Banks’ comments that Lupe and other artists (including Kendrick Lamar) seemed to blame the Black community for the death of Mike Brown.

Since then, Lupe Fiasco proceeded to repeatedly call Kid Cudi out for switching up on him and refusing to make amends or confront him about the situation. During a November 2015 show, Lupe threatened to fight Cudi and said he wouldn’t hold a grudge against him in the same performance and even provided a bizarre Santa metaphor to explain why the Kid was a “b***h.” He mocked the Man On The Moon artist for threatening Drake from rehab in 2016, expressing that he “needs his a** beat,” and later, dissed him in 2018 while apologizing to Barack Obama and Kendrick for his criticism. Even though their attacks died down for a bit, Lupe reignited things in 2021 by dissing him about his feature on the Drake album Certified Lover Boy. At this point, it became clear that this was mostly one-sided since Cudi refused to engage.

Where Are Kid Cudi & Lupe Fiasco At Now?

Still, all this beef emerged while these artists continued to praise each other back-handedly on occasion. For example, Lupe Fiasco said that Kid Cudi was “a GOAT, but a b***h” in 2022. In addition, he wished for Will Smith and Chris Rock to make up after the Oscars slap while standing on his distaste for the 39-year-old. Lupe quadrupled down at the end of 2022 by responding with “F**k him for life” to a fan asking if they’d ever reconcile, but history took a turn this year with Cudi’s recent interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music. Here, he recalled the 2008 BAPE story with the 41-year-old, which prompted him to respond on Twitter with more attacks. While the “GHOST!” creative offered an apology via social media, the “MS. MURAL” lyricist wasn’t having it and said that he needed to talk to him if this was to resolve.

Now, at the end of all this, Kid Cudi let fans know via Twitter that he spoke with Lupe Fiasco and that they hashed everything out, and his former opponent’s co-sign of this and promotion of his new album INSANO means that they finally squashed their decade-long beef… for now. Afterward, Lupe trolled a fan by suggesting that part of their deal was that he would beat one Cudi fan up (which you can read below). As such, maybe this tale isn’t over, but we’re happy that these two amazing artists are finally at peace. A collaboration would be one of 2024’s most heartening hip-hop moments, so let’s see what the future holds in store.

Cam’ron Reveals That He And Ben Simmons Were Close To Fighting, OJ Simpson Would Have Had His Back

Cam’ron and Ma$e’s hit sports talk show It Is What It Is has never failed to produce some downright hilarious moments. It is part of the reason why it was picked up by a major sports betting company and is raking in tons of viewers and money. Cam knows how to tell stories while also giving his unfiltered commentary on sports and it all comes together in a perfect symphony. Those two aspects of the show were on full display recently.

The New York legend retold something that happened to him this past weekend. Cam’ron attended the Nets at Lakers game on Friday, January 19. His Brooklyn squad walked out of L.A. with a 130-112 win. However, as they have done for the majority of this season, they played without Ben Simmons. The troubled LSU product for whatever reason cannot stay on the court. Cam’ron is at many of the Nets home games as well and as he was walking out of the arena, he and Ben had a tense moment.

Cam’ron Hilariously Fills The Crew In On What Went Down

Cam made quite a fun poke at Ben during his story saying that he was “buggin’” from the fact that he forgot he still was in the league. As the host continues, he mentions they had a stare-down essentially. Comments must have been made by Cam’ron to have Simmons be upset with him. However, it never went past that and he was quite frustrated that he did not confront him about it. Cam would have rather had that than him “playing games.” The panel asked frequent guest OJ Simpson about his thoughts on it and he mentioned that he would have had his back. “I have had to zip my n**** suit once in a while.” That sent everyone and had them laughing. Ben has only appeared in six games this season with his last one being against the Bucks on November 6.

What are your thoughts on the video clip above from It Is What It Is? Do you think Cam’ron went about things the right way? Did Ben Simmons also react professionally? Do you think the rapper could have taken on the NBA star? Is his playing career slowly coming to a halting end? Will the Nets retain him or release him by the deadline this season? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Cam’ron and It Is What It Is. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on around the sports world.
