The ‘Fast & Furious’ Family Could Have Featured André 3000, Who Revealed He Auditioned For One Of The Movies

André 3000 was on The Late Show in January. While there, he and Stephen Colbert taped a “Colbert Questionert” segment, in which Colbert asks his guests a series of general questions in an attempt to get to know them better. These segments usually air a couple weeks after the guest’s initial Late Show appearance, and André’s segment finally played last night, February 8. Colbert’s questioning actually unearthed an interesting piece of trivia: André once auditioned for a Fast & Furious movie.

One of the standard Questionert questions is, “Do you have a favorite action movie?” Nothing came to mind for André, so Colbert playfully followed up, “Why haven’t you been in one of the Fast & Furious movies? I could see you driving a fast car, off a cliff or something into a boat.” André responded with a bit of a laugh, “I would have but I think Ludacris took the role.” He added, “No, I actually tried out. I tried out for Fast & Furious and Ludacris actually took the role,” which took Colbert by surprise.

Ludacris’ first time portraying Tej Parker in the Fast & Furious franchise was in the second film, 2003’s 2 Fast 2 Furious, so it would seem that’s the movie André auditioned for.

Colbert asked André if he was angry about not landing the part and he responded, “No, not at all. I mean… ’cause I wasn’t ready. […] I remember that audition. I was so nervous, man, like I wouldn’t have hired me.”

André went on to have a fine acting career, though, with roles in movies like Four Brothers, Semi Pro, and Jimi: All Is By My Side.

The Sky Is Blue, Grass Is Green, And Kanye West And Ty Dolla Sign Didn’t Release ‘Vultures’ On Time Yet Again

In January, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign announced that their collaborative album Vultures was a three-part project, with the different volumes set to drop on February 9, March 8, and April 5. I wrote at the time, “While those dates in February, March, and April are certainly worth keeping an eye on, if nothing materializes on those days, it won’t be the world’s biggest shock.”

Given how often the release of Vultures has been delayed, that wasn’t exactly a surprising or especially insightful thing to say. Well, today is February 9, and as of this post, the first volume of Vultures is not available on streaming services, even after Ye and Ty’s listening event last night. There’s still plenty of time left for West and Ty to release it today, but given that new albums tend to drop at midnight, it feels likely that Vultures has once again been delayed and the first volume will ultimately not be released on February 9.

West is a trending topic on X (formerly Twitter) this morning, with users complaining or making jokes about Vultures not being out yet. One user, for example, shared a photo of a clown using a computer and wrote, “How I look checking Spotify to see if Kanye West dropped Vultures.”

Saweetie Refuses To “Spin The Block” About Quavo With Shannon Sharpe

Saweetie refused to be baited by Shannon Sharpe when she joined The Nightcap for a live show. Sharpe eagerly began the conversation by asking the rapper about her past relationship with Quavo but Saweetie already had things on lock. “Is that all I have? I don’t got Icy Girl? Or being Ms. McDonald? Or having a Mac campaign? All I got is that?” Saweetie asked as Sharpe backpedaled. Furthermore, the rapper refused to “spin the block” about her past relationships when pressed by Sharpe. “I don’t have a record of doing that. That’s not me, I don’t do that,” Saweetie said bluntly.

However, she did allude to a few things after Sharpe asked her why she gave back the Bentley Quavo gifted her during their relationship. “I didn’t give it back. You know what happened,” Saweetie said coyly. It has long been reported that Quavo repossessed the car after the couple broke up. Despite this, it’s not something she is sweating. “I got myself the rose-colored Rolls Royce so I don’t need it,” she added.

What Happened To The Saweetie Barbie Song?

Of course, Quavo is not the only person that Saweetie could “spin the block” about. Last year, she revealed that she is still working on plans to release her song intended for Barbie. Prior to her comments, Compton rapper Problem alleged that Nicki Minaj’s “Barbie World“, which appeared over the film’s end credits, was actually stolen from Saweetie. It was a claim that the Cali rapper appeared to confirm. “There are no rules. It’s the wild wild west. [But] it’s inspiration. I love to inspire, that’s my purpose here. And they look bomb as fuck in that video. So it’s just like, okay bitch I see you. Mine’s still coming out though, stay tuned. I’m saving it for a very special moment,” the rapper said of the theft allegations.

The track, reportedly called “Icy Girl”, could make an appearance on Pretty Bitch Music, her to-be-released debut studio album. Following in his father’s footsteps, Sanders Jr. picked up American football in his early years. All through high school and college, he was a star athlete, playing in the position of wide receiver. However, he transitioned into fashion after he dropped football in his Junior year in college. In 2016, he launched his streetwear fashion brand, Well Off, and has maintained it ever since. Also utilizing his musical talent, Sanders Jr. has released several singles and albums. His most recent project, Rwbr 1.5, was released on December 30, 2023.

Deion Sanders married Pilar Biggers-Sanders in 1999, and while they stayed married, the couple bore three kids. The first of their children, and Deion’s second son, Shilo, was born on February 9, 2000. Another talented sportsman, Shilo has been playing football for many years now. However, unlike his brother, he seems to be interested in seeing it through and building a career in the sport. The 23-year-old played at the University of South Carolina for two years before transferring to Jackson State University in 2020. While there, he was coached by his father and remains under his tutelage at the University of Colorado where they both currently are. Besides his blossoming sports career, Shilo has an impressive online presence and has taken on a few modeling gigs.

Evidently, the athletic blood of Deion Sanders runs strong in the veins of his kids. Similar to his older brothers, Shedeur Sanders seemed to have an innate talent for sports even at a young age. The second child shared by Sanders and Biggers-Sanders, Shedeur was born on February 7, 2002. He has been a football superstar since high school, where he played as a quarterback. Subsequently, in 2021, he joined his dad and older brother Shilo at Jackson State University to play college football. Praised as an outstanding football player, the 22-year-old has also bagged brand deals left and right. Shedeur Sanders has had deals with Gatorade and Beats by Dre, among others. He is currently coached by his dad at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he plays alongside Shilo.

The youngest of all the kids Deion Sanders has welcomed into the world, Shelomi Sanders is also a gifted athlete. Born on December 14, 2003, she is the last of three kids Deion Sanders had with Biggers-Sanders. While she is not a football player like her brothers, Shelomi is steadily building a legacy as a star basketball player. In 2022, she signed up to play college basketball at Jackson State University. Since then, she has made a name for herself on the court, and continues to make her family proud.

Little Simz Explores The Club Scene On “Drop 7” EP

One of the most intriguing rappers from the UK area is back to bring something fresh to her discography. We are talking about London’s Little Simz. Arguably the best the country has to offer, the soon-to-be 30-year-old is always blending creative instrumentals with pinpoint lyricism. If you have the mindset that female rappers these days are trash, just check out a Little Simz project. She is as close as a sure thing gets with every release. The amount of effort that goes into each song is something to behold.

Little Simz dropped her last full-length record just a little over a year ago with NO THANK YOU. It was a terrific listen that quickly became an album of the year candidate right before the end of 2022. Simz had some beautiful songs about being comfortable with yourself and loving everything about you. Today though, she is adding onto a series that she started in the early stages of her career.

Listen To Drop 7 By Little Simz

The colorful musical mind has sporadically put out an EP series called Drop. Usually, the tracklists a do not exceed five songs, but this seventh one ironically has seven. This also marks a decade long achievement for Simz. On Drop 7, she explores some dancier sounds that have a faster pace to them. There are some melodic cuts sprinkled in as well, allowing for Simz to show off her singing talents. The one drawback is that a good deal of the songs are too short. But, this is an EP and this may not be the last we see of her this year.

Kanye West Compares Himself To R. Kelly, Bill Cosby, Jesus & Diddy On “Vultures”

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign held their album listening party for Vultures last night (February 8) at Chicago’s United Center… and of course, it didn’t end up dropping. Who’s really surprised was our first question, but as they previewed more and more tracks, more pressing matters emerged. Moreover, there was a particular track that caught many listeners’ ears, and its title going around social media right now is “Carnival.” In it, the Chicago rapper makes reference to various “canceled” individuals, particularly entertainers accused of sex crimes, and as usual, drops a comparison to Jesus Christ, for good measure. ‘Cause, you know, it’s Kanye.

“Anybody p***ed off, gotta make them drink the urine/ Now, I’m Ye Kelly, b***h/ Now I’m Bill Cosby, b***h/ Now I’m Puff Daddy rich,” Kanye West raps on the previewed song. “That’s ‘Me Too’ me rich/ First she say she suck my d**k/ Then, she say she ain’t suck my d**k/ She ’gon take it up the a** like a ventriloquist/ I mean, since Taylor Swift, since I had the Rollie on the wrist/ I’m the new Jesus, b***h, I turn water into Cris’.”

Kanye West Previews “Carnival” At Vultures Event, “Cancels” Himself

Furthermore, this is alluding to Kanye West’s tendency to rope his personal life and circumstances into his music, whether specifically for his antisemitism or the backlash surrounding it, which is why he mentions movements like #MeToo. Whether or not you’re a fan of this, it’s hardly surprising or notable anymore given everything that’s happened up to this point. Even though this song didn’t drop officially, fans still have some new Ye material to chew on, for better or worse. He and Ty Dolla Sign dropped the “Vultures” music video, plus visuals for “Talking / Once Again.”

Meanwhile, with another listening party in New York tonight (February 9), maybe this is when the album will actually drop. Until then, Vultures seems more like a fleeting idea, performance art concept, or just a dream that we’re still living in. Lamar Jackson Named Near-Unanimous MVP

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson has been named the 2023 NFL MVP in a landslide vote. Jackson received 49 of 50 first-place votes to earn him since second career MVP award. Dak Prescott and Christian McCaffery finished a distant second and third respectively. Josh Allen earned the other first-place vote. Preseason favorite for the award Patrick Mahomes finished 7th with just six total votes. However, Mahomes will play for a Super Bowl after beating Jackson and the Ravens two weeks ago in the AFC Championship.

Jackson becomes the ninth multi-time MVP of the Super Bowl era but stands alone as the only one in the club without a ring. However, Jackson’s 2023 MVP season is a unique one. Finishing 11th in touchdown passes and 15th in passing yards, Jackson became the first QB MVP to finish outside the top ten in both metrics. However, Jackson, who led the Ravens to a 13-4 record and an AFC Championship Game appearance, earned the award by proving he could take down the best. 10 of the Ravens’ 13 victories would come against teams who finished the season with a winning record. Jackson also had 821 rushing yards, his highest mark since a 1005-yard season in 2020.

Lamar Jackson: From Holdout To MVP

Of course, there is some much more than unorthodox stats that define this season for Jackson. In the run-up to week one, Jackson was on the verge of demanding a trade out of Baltimore. That would not come to pass as Jackson finally landed a lucrative five-year extension and didn’t miss any games for the team.

Furthermore, Jackson made sure to make it clear that he saw his award as a team effort. “I want to thank my organization, the Baltimore Ravens, for finally getting the deal done. My offense [and] offensive line, I can’t thank them enough for what they’ve done. I’m not out there blocking and catching the ball and doing everything. It’s a team thing for these awards,” Jackson said while accepting the award.

Kanye West Doesn’t Drop “Vultures”: Fans React

February 9 has rolled around, and to very few fans’ surprise, Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign did not drop Vultures as promised. Of course, they still held their album listening party at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, but after a couple of hours in the morning, there’s still no sign of the collab album. Moreover, this is one more loop around the cycle of promised release dates, snippets, song teases, listening parties, and eventual disappointment that a Ye rollout lives off of. As such, we’re back to not knowing anything about the project, and even less about the two volumes that are supposed to come out later in the year.

Furthermore, a lot of fans did have particular hope for the February 9 release date given some previous releases and movement. For example, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign released the dual music video for “Talking / Once Again” earlier this week, which uplifted expectations that Vultures was soon to follow. That wasn’t the case, but maybe they just used these visuals to put even more pressure on the drop and build it up some more. It’s like they gave themselves more excuses to have to drop the album eventually, and not give up on it.

Kanye West Fans React To Vultures Not Dropping

In addition, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign also dropped a music video for the Havoc version of the project’s title track. It was the first taste we ever got of Vultures, and seeing them go back to it rather than make something new was an odd choice. Nevertheless, considering how this week ended up being another false flag, we’re sure many die-hards will be at least pleased with it. There are still a lot of listeners who would much rather not hear the album in light of his controversies, or who consider those to be the more important factor here. Jonathan Majors Faces New Allegations From Two Ex-Partners

Two women, Emma Duncan and Maura Hooper, have gone public with allegations of physical and emotional abuse against actor Jonathan Majors. Both women had their allegations referred to in a Rolling Stone exposé about Majors last year. However, the pair have since publicly reiterated their claims in an interview with The New York Times. Duncan claims that Majors “threw her across the room” and “threatened to make sure she couldn’t have children” during a fight in 2016. Meanwhile, Hooper called Majors “deeply controlling” and told her she was “not allowed to speak with anyone about the relationship”. While Majors has denied the accusations, his attorney noted that the actor was “deeply embarrassed by some of his jealous behavior”. Both women had previously declined to speak directly to Rolling Stone, with one citing a fear of retribution.

The testimony of Duncan and Hooper follows semi-public claims from another woman, who spoke to The Cut under a pseudonym. “Anna” told the publication that she had pulled her story from the Rolling Stone article after receiving a threatening letter warning her not to go public with her allegations. According to “Anna”, the phone number included with the letter was linked to the law firm retained by Majors for his criminal trial last year. Majors’ attorney denied any involvement from her or her firm in the letter.

Jonathan Majors Sentencing Delayed

Meanwhile, a judge delayed the sentencing of Majors after the actor’s legal team filed to dismiss his guilty verdict. Majors’ team argued that the actor had not been given a fair trial. The argument is based on the premise that the prosecution had portrayed the actor’s assault on his ex-girlfriend as intentional. However, they then eventually asked the jury to consider his actions “reckless”. As a result, the presiding judge has continued Majors’ case until early April.

Majors was found guilty of misdemeanor reckless assault in the third degree and a violation of harassment. However, he was acquitted on additional charges of assault and aggravated harassment. Despite this, Majors has continued to feel the professional ramifications of his verdict. The most notable of these professional consequences is that Disney has officially decided to recast Kang the Conqueror, Majors’ pivotal MCU role.

Los Angeles Lakers Unveil First of Three Kobe Bryant Statues

The Los Angeles Lakers have unveiled the first of three Kobe Bryant statues. The new figure is No. 8 Kobe, holding his finger high in the Lakers’ Sunday white jersey, remembering when he lit up the Toronto Raptors for 81 points.

“For the record, Kobe picked the pose you’re about to see, so if anyone has any issues with it, tough shit,” said Vanessa Bryant.

The statue reads, “Leave the game better than you found it. And when it comes time for you to leave, leave a legend.”

“When I found out there was going to be three statues, I just said, ‘That’s fitting,’” said Rob Pelinka, vice president of basketball operations and general manager of the Lakers. “Because it’s just how the City of Angels feels about Kobe. He deserves something that no other athlete that’s ever played here deserves.”

When fans visit the statue, they can scan a QR code leading to a video tribute narrated by Denzel Washington.
