Drake Drops ‘Scary Hours 2’ With Lil Baby And Rick Ross As The Wait For ‘Certified Lover Boy’ Continues

Drake has never been one to make his fans wait long periods of time between projects. The last time the rapper went a full year without a full-length effort was in 2014 and while the wait for his upcoming sixth album, Certified Lover Boy may be longer than fans expected, it hasn’t been nearly as grueling as the wait some of Drake’s peers have left their fans to endure. Following Dark Lane Demo Tapes and a number of “leaks,” and guest features, Drake is back with more music, this time in the form of a new EP.

The rapper touches down with Scary Hours 2, the sequel to his 2018 effort that featured “Diplomatic Immunity” and his smash-hit, “God’s Plan.” Switching things up this time around, Drake drops a trio of songs with help from Lil Baby and Rick Ross. The former appears on “Wants And Needs” for a blunt request to keep them away from drama while Drake rekindles his decade-long chemistry with Rick Ross for “Lemon Pepper Freestyle.” The final track is “What’s Next,” a braggadocious anthem that sees relishing in the superstar spotlight.

The road to Certified Lover Boy hasn’t been as smooth as Drake might have hoped. It began with the release of “Laugh Now Cry Later” with Lil Durk last August. He later confirmed the album would drop in January 2021, but as the release date approached, he returned to say it would unfortunately be delayed. “I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery,” he said in a post to his Instagram story. “I’m blessed to be back on my feet feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January. I’m looking forward to sharing it with you all in 2021.”

A recent report from DJ Akademiks said the Certified Lover Boy would arrive within the next two months, but that remains to be seen.

Until then, you can listen to both songs here.

Tory Lanez Croons His Way Through R&B Capsule “Playboy”

It’s about that time for another Tory Lanez Capsule. It was about a week ago when the multihyphenate performer teased us with the cover art of his latest release, an “R&B Capsule” titled Playboy. Some fans saw this coming after Lanez called on Chris Brown to round out their recently released “F.E.E.L.S.” single, but now we’re able to get a firsthand look at what Lanez has been working on.

There were rumors that the rapper-singer-producer switched things up on Playboy and the project is said to feature all-new productions. Unlike his acclaimed Chixtape series, fans reportedly won’t hear any samples this time around as beats were built from the ground up. Lanez is fervently moving forward as his shooting case looms and it doesn’t look as if he’s allowing for anything to slow him down.

“This R&B Capsule ‘PlayBoy’ …. Was made off of pure pain , heartbreak , and hard liquor …. Tread lightly listening,” Lanez tweeted. C. Breezy is the only lone feature on the record, so stream Playboy and share your thoughts in the comments.

G Herbo Is Ready For Battle On “Really Like That”

It’s been some time since we’ve received a new release from G Herbo, aside from his features, and on Friday (March 5), the world was blessed with two new tracks. The Chicago rapper has been busy balancing his personal and professional life as he faces legal troubles and a growing family. We’ve previously reported on the charges against Herbo in connection to an alleged fraud case, and while his attorneys attempt to keep him out of jail, Herbo has been preparing to welcome his child with fiancée Taina Williams.

The rapper enthusiastically posted about his two singles on Instagram—”Break Yoself” and “Really Like That”—by writing, “I AINT DROP SH*T SINCE I DROPPED MY ALBUM. FEELS LIKE A GOOD TIME TO GET BACK TO IT.” We’re highlighting “Really Like That” first, and it’s clear that Herbo is ready for a productive and game-changing 2021. Stream “Really Like That” and let us know what you think about G Herbo’s latest.

Quotable Lyrics

That’s why I walk like this, talk like that
Iced out all my n*ggas, b*tch, ’cause I’m a boss like that (Swerve)
Puttin’ miles on my foreign, f*ck up my exhaust like that (Just like that)
Overkill ’em why you had to nail him to the cross like that (Dang)

Denzel Curry & Kenny Beats Return With Remix Album “Unlocked 1.5”

They’ve put a new spin on their critically-acclaimed project and it’s an upgrade that fans have already been enjoying. In February 2020, Denzel Curry and Kenny Beats shared their collaborative project Unlocked, and immediately, the visual concept partnered with an immaculate production was praised near and far. The collaboration between the Florida emcee and accomplished producer is a pairing the Hip Hop needs, and they’ve returned for a remix album where you’ll find the original tracklist has been chopped and screwed.

Deluxe albums are all the rage and often, we find artists adding a few new unreleased tracks to the updated album, but we don’t regularly find artists fully and completely remixing their entire records. Both Unlocked and Unlocked 1.5 are deserving of praise, and features on this new version include production credits from Charlie Heat, Jay Versace, GODMODE 950, The Alchemist, and Georgia Anne Muldrow. You’ll also find additional vocals from Kenny Mason, Joey Bada$$, Arlo Parks, and Benny The Butcher.

Drake Delivers “Scary Hours 2” 3-Pack Ahead Of “Certified Lover Boy”

If the rumors are to be believed, Certified Lover Boy is on the way. Akademiks has given us a few updates about Drake’s highly-anticipated, forthcoming album with the news that Drizzy has revealed CLB will hit streaming services sometime in April. There was gossip about Drake taking over “all Summer ’21,” but if Akademiks is to be believed, the OVO mogul is about to run the Spring.

To whet his fans’ whistles, Drake returns with a surprise three-pack: Scary Hours 2. It’s said to be an extension of his 2018 EP of the same name and we’re pretty certain that at least one of these songs will creep its way onto the CLB tracklist. We’ve previously received EPs and drop-offs from Drake including his Care Package and Dark Lane Demo Tapes, and we’ll enjoy this one as we twiddle our thumbs in anticipation of CLB. Stream Scary Hours 2 and let us know what you think of Lil Baby and Rick Ross’s appearance on the record.

Kodak Black Mushes Piece Of Cake In Son’s Face & People Are Upset

It was all about family fun for Kodak Black who was recently enjoying time with his kids. The rapper has been making the most of his first months out of prison, even reportedly becoming engaged to rapper Mellow Rackz and possibly even expecting a child. We’ve watched as Kodak has partied for the Super Bowl and collaborated with Lil Yachty, but the rapper showed just how much of a family man he is in a recent video clip that has gone viral. In it, Kodak is at a party for his son, but it’s the cake-cutting moment that has given some viewers pause.

The video shows Kodak surrounded by kids as he cuts what looks to be a birthday cake. Things start off quite normal until the rapper decides to sneak attack the little boy by mushing a slice of cake in his face. Kodak laughs hysterically as the boy cries, and soon others are finding their faces full of cake, as well. Many people are laughing and having a good time as the kids patiently wait for their true piece of cake.

The jovial moment was shared online as a funny bit from the event, but some people have taken issue with the playful exchange because they believe the rapper used too much force. Check out the video and a few reactions below. Are people overreacting?
