Tyler, The Creator Shares New Album Release Date

Every two years without fail, Tyler, The Creator blesses his fans with a new album. It’s become a trend in the hip-hop superstar’s career, pushing himself to elevate his artistry with creative displays of his originality and fearlessness. For the last few weeks, Tyler has been cryptically teasing his new music, launching a toll-free hotline that played a song snippet when you called the number. On Wednesday, the 30-year-old rapper officially kicked off his post-IGOR chapter with the release of his new single “LUMBERJACK.” One day later, he’s officially sharing the release date for his next album, titled Call Me If You Get Lost.

Seemingly announcing that the album will be released on June 25, Tyler shared an identification card with his picture, writing in the album’s release date. He also posted a painting of himself in a Wes Anderson-like landscape, holding two briefcases in his hands.

If the new album is anything like Tyler’s latest single, we can expect a different side of the artist — one that we possibly haven’t seen before. The DJ Drama-curated new track draws inspiration from the Odd Future days when Tyler was rapping more aggressively, but it also has a strong mixtape feel that might feature the artist in a different bag than usual.

Ben Simmons & 76ers Roasted Online After Epic Collapse

Last night was supposed to be a statement game for the Philadelphia 76ers as they were tied 2-2 against the Atlanta Hawks in the second round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs. The 76ers are easily the better team when you compare both rosters although, at times, the 76ers have looked like a shell of their former selves.

On Wednesday night, everything started out perfectly for the Sixers as they jumped out to a 26-point lead. However, down the stretch, the Sixers went cold all while the Hawks played some of their best basketball of the season. Trae Young went off, all while the Sixers’ star players Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid were awful. It made for a frustrating night that resulted in a Hawks win and a 3-2 lead in the series.

With the Hawks now one win away from going to the Eastern Conference Finals, Sixers fans are livid and understandably son. Simmons is supposed to be a superstar-caliber player and throughout the series, he has struggled to score double-digit points. Meanwhile, role players like Tobias Harris have also been absent, and the fans are starting to get fed up.

Sixers Twitter was in shambles last night and this morning, and you can see what they had to say about the ordeal, below.

Pooh Shiesty Was Not Only Denied Bond, But He Now May Also Face More Charges

After being arrested for aggravated battery earlier this month, Pooh Shiesty was again denied bond today and now may face additional, federal charges stemming from a previous case, according to the Miami Herald. The Memphis rapper’s attorneys argued that he should be granted bail after the alleged victim in the attack, a shooting in a Miami nightclub, recanted his prior statement, saying that he was under the effects of a power painkiller when police initially interviewed him.

However, the judge assigned to the case refused to grant a bond and prosecutors are investigating why the victim changed his story. The victim, a security guard at Miami’s King Of Diamonds, said that he couldn’t remember what happened in a statement provided by Pooh’s attorneys. The prosecutor told the judge, “This is very concerning to me. Our office is obviously investigating it.”

Meanwhile, it was also revealed during the proceedings that the US Attorney’s office has placed a “federal detainer” on his case, meaning that federal authorities could be seeking charges in a separate case. That case involves a shooting incident in Bay Harbor Islands in 2020; police say a drug deal went wrong. If additional charges are filed, the Miami case may end up being the least of Pooh Shiesty’s problems.

Pooh Shiesty is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Redman Penned “Supreme Clientele” Bars In The Car

Ghostface Killah’s Supreme Clientele is easily regarded among the greatest projects to emerge from the Wu-Tang camp and beyond, to the point where it’s praised as a definitive part of the hip-hop canon. A masterpiece from start to finish, Tony Starks’ album continues to fascinate hip-hop historians, and RZA recently unveiled an interesting tidbit about the album.

Speaking with HipHopDX, the RZA reflected on creating one of the album’s hardest tracks — the stacked posse cut “Buck 50,” featuring Method Man, Cappadonna, and Redman. “When Wu-Tang had success and we built our first studio, we would make the songs and then bring it downstairs to the car and play it in there,” he explains. “If sound bopping in there, you know you was good. Especially on an album like Supreme Clientele.”

“I feel like almost every song, like when we finished that, we took it down,” he continues. I’ll never forget when Redman came to the studio, he actually wrote his [Buck 50] verse in the car. We put the beat on tape and he’s just going to take the beat downstairs and write the verse in the car.”

Given how thoroughly he snapped on the urgent classic — “The words you talk better be the words you walk / Body you in the bed where the nurses are / Put your vein out, watch me insert the dart / Til it plagues from Bricks to the Persian Gulf” — Reggie’s solitary process certainly paid off. In fact, perhaps its time to start recognizing Redman as one of the great lyricists,

Polo G Reacts To NBA Youngboy’s Troll Fans

Even in Youngboy Never Broke Again’s absence from the rap game, his fans have remained as loud as ever on social media. It isn’t uncommon to see fans of the Baton Rouge rapper posted up in any major hip-hop account’s comments section, boasting to other fanbases that Youngboy is “better” than their respective favorites. They’re likely one of the biggest troll bases on the internet and they’ll do anything to promote the 21-year-old rapper’s music.

During a recent Polo G live stream on Instagram, the Chicago rapper celebrated his Hall Of Fame album release when a barrage of Youngboy trolls swarmed the comments with “ratio” remarks and “Youngboy better” nonsense. The rapper was confused about the action in his comments, remarking such and vocalizing his reaction.

“YB better…” he said, quoting a comment he noticed on the screen. “Y’all come up with a whole new language, I swear to god. And I don’t even be understanding that shit. That’s not some shit I say on the day-to-day. I’m not finna talk to my homie and say ‘ratio.’ What the fuck do that even mean?”

Clearly, Polo G isn’t in tune with meme culture. “Ratio” has been around for a few years with trolls antagonizing original posters and trying to stack up more likes or retweets than them, hence the ratio. As for the “YB better” comments, those are just passionate fans who will do anything to shout their love for the rapper from the rooftops.

What do you think of the trollery in the comments sections?
