Russ Drops Another One With “When This Was All New”

Love him or hate him, Russ has built himself up into a genuine success story. No stranger to performing his vast catalog to thousands upon thousands of adoring fans, Russ has once again delivered a new addition to his repertoire. This time, he’s tapping into his melancholic eighties bag with “When This Was New,” a vibey new drop that paints a bittersweet picture of fading passion.

Though it’s not quite so heavy on the bars as some of his material, Russ makes sure to keep himself sharp with a slick verse — though in reality, it’s the melodic sections that steal the show, effectively capturing his inner conflict. Fans of the once-declared Soundcloud King will likely vibe with “When This Was New,” and who knows — perhaps it might even signal a new style for the versatile artist.

Quotable Lyrics

Here I go, tryna do the most
Emotional damage, the bandaid’s a boat or a Ghost
Yeah, I know that our problems are deeper than that
But you fucked up too though, I ease to the back
Just to peep where you at, let me see how you act

Ric Flair Exposed For Alleged Sexual Assault, WWE Fans React

Ric Flair is considered to be one of the biggest legends in the history of wrestling although there are certain things about the wrestler that have remained uncovered. While there are some stories that are kind of public knowledge, there are extra details that have simply not been explained by those who lived through the experience.

A perfect example of this came yesterday during the airing of Vice’s Dark Side Of The Ring. The third season of the show promises to be extra interesting, and on last night’s episode, fans got to see the “Plane Ride From Hell” episode which details a 2002 incident where numerous wrestlers got way too rowdy on a plane ride from Europe back to the United States.

For years now, fans have known about the part in which Ric Flair exposed himself to the stewardesses. In the past, this incident has been played off as some joke that no one took all that seriously. Now, however, Flair is being accused of sexual assault for his part in the ordeal. In fact, a stewardess came forward to explain what she was allegedly subjected to.

“I was in the galley. Ric Flair was naked and he decided to come back to the galley to get a Coke,” she said. “Then he wouldn’t leave the galley. He had me back against the back door and I couldn’t move, I couldn’t get away from him. He was spinning around his penis and he wanted me to touch it. He took my hand and put it on him.”

Fans were appalled by these details and they immediately took to Twitter to give their reactions. While some defended the former wrestler, others demanded accountability. It even led to the resurfacing of a clip in which longtime WWE personality Teddy Long describes being called a racial slur by Flair.

Needless to say, fans are demanding answers as one of the WWE’s biggest legends is currently being hit with some pretty hefty allegations.

Lil Nas X Drops Daytime Talk Show “The Montero Show” To Go Along With Album Release

If Lil Nas X has taught us anything in the last year, it’s that at the young age of 22, he has already mastered the concept of the album rollout.

From dropping the lead single “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” and sexually-Satan-themed visuals to go with it or grabbing rising star Jack Harlow to assist with the second single “Industry Baby” and appear in that record’s all-pink-prison video, to more *abstract* ideas, like an entire pregnancy saga leading up to the birth of Baby Montero and the release of Montero itself, Lil Nas X has shown that he knows how to grab attention and keep that attention over a sustained period of time.

Last night, to accompany Montero‘s release, Lil Nas also debuted The Montero Show on YouTube.

The Montero Show, designed to look and feel like a mid-2000s midday talk show, was hosted by Lil Nas X playing the Oprah-like figure Montero, and was graced with a guest appearance from a very-pregnant “Old Town Road boy” who quickly corrects the host that he is Lil Nas X.

The show begins with Montero asking Lil Nas X about working with Billy Ray Cyrus to which the rapper answered that it’s been three years since “Old Town Road” and that there have to be new questions to ask. Continuing on to inform Montero that he had a crazy year, capped off by the fact that he is “literally f**king pregnant.”

Montero and Lil Nas X continue on with Lil Nas ducking “Old Town Road” questions and the pair going through all of the music videos incorporated with the new album. Just as Lil Nas begins to announce the premiere of a new video for “That’s What I Want” however, his water breaks and the rapper seamlessly transitions his day-time TV appearance into the birth of Baby Montero and the official Montero release.

To say Lil Nas X went all out for this album rollout would be an understatement. Between so many moving parts and their near-flawless integration with each other, it is clear to see the immense amount of planning and execution that went into rolling this project out to the masses. Featuring a handful of already-huge records, Montero was already set to do numbers but with the entire rollout and Lil Nas X impressive weekend at the VMAs and Met Gala, it seems that the entire internet had eyes out for this project and now it’s here.

Go stream Montero and let us know what you think of the album and its rollout in the comments.

Saweetie Links Up With Hidden Valley Ranch To Drop Crocs Collab

Saweetie’s rise to fame and subsequent stay in the public eye has been an interesting one, to say the least. From her time spent with Quavo to her Santa Monica Pier busking video, there have been highs and there have been lows but one thing has remained the same: she knows how to secure the bag.

Whether it be an appearance in a Call of Duty commercial, receiving her own McDonald’s meal a la Travis Scott or more recently, becoming a global ambassador for MAC Cosmetics, it is clear Saweetie understands the power and potential earnings that come with endorsement deals and just yesterday, the “Best Friend” rapper announced a probably-unexpected but very interesting collaboration between herself, Hidden Valley Ranch and Crocs.

Coming off the heels of collaborations with the likes of Justin Bieber, Post Malone, Bad Bunny and streetwear brand Carrots, Crocs is no stranger to the limelight and this most recent crossover is sure to keep them in it for at least a little while longer. The Icy Girl’s Crocs will feature a cream-colored rubber clog with the same green flecks seen in ranch dressing. Nine jibbitz, all shaped like foods including pizza, french fries, tacos and a few dippable veggies will be included in the collaboration as well.

The Saweetie x Hidden Valley x Crocs collaboration will be available for $69.99 on Crocs.com from September 16 to September 20 but, like with most footwear drops nowadays, will only be available to purchase online through a lottery system.

ZillaKami Delivers Experimental New Album “Dog Boy”

It’s not uncommon to see more hip-hop artists experimenting with different styles, and ZillaKami has never been afraid to take his music into heavy metal territory. Now, his new album Dog Boy has landed in full fifteen-track glory, and while his sound might not be for everyone, there are many who respect what he does — and damned if he doesn’t do it well.

In an era where more and more rappers have taken to calling themselves “Rockstars,” Zilla actually goes above and beyond to implement live instrumentation into his music, which in turn imbues his songs with urgency and aggression. It also benefits from a pair of notable guest appearances from Denzel Curry and Lil Uzi Vert, who appear on “Bleach” and “BADASS” respectively. For the most part, however, DOG BOY is largely Zilla’s show, and he’s versatile enough to hold attention throughout.

Should you be one who enjoys a healthy dose of rock-infused rap, ZillaKami is easily one of the most accomplished in that department. If you’ve already listened to his latest drop, be sure to share your thoughts on DOG BOY in the comment section below.

The Alchemist Says Earl Sweatshirt’s ‘Incredible’ Next Album Is Done And Will Be 21 Minutes Long

Earl Sweatshirt hasn’t dropped a new album since 2018’s Some Rap Songs but that may soon change according to his frequent collaborator The Alchemist. The producer told Anthony Fantano’s The Needle Drop that an album he and Earl have been working on was recently completed and sounds “incredible.”

“He has an album that is done and it’s incredible,” Alc reveals. “I’m excited about that and I do have some work on that… It’s insane. I think everybody will be happy. He’s in his bag.” When asked whether he had any additional details about the project, he said, “I couldn’t even describe it… that would be a disservice to it.”

Fans have no shortage of collaborative work between the producer and the rapper to judge by. Going back to last year, the duo has worked together extensively on tracks including “Whole World” with Maxo, “Nobles” with Navy Blue, and even an entire secret album hidden on YouTube under a fake name.

Whether or not this new album is the one Vince Staples recently hinted at working on with the duo remains to be seen, although The Alchemist did say, as he does in the interview above, that he’s waiting on Earl.

Lil Nas X Says Drake And Nicki Minaj Aren’t On ‘Montero’ For Good Reasons

After a months-long gestation and a slew of mild controversies, Lil Nas X’s debut album Montero has finally arrived. The album turned out to be a star-studded affair, with appearances from major names like Doja Cat, Elton John, Megan Thee Stallion, and Miley Cyrus. However, one pair of prominent names were missing from the final tracklist, although according to Nas, it wasn’t from lack of effort on his part. During the triumphant young artist’s recent interview with New York’s The Breakfast Club, he revealed which stars were missing and explained their absences.

He explained that despite reaching out to both Drake and Nicki Minaj, he was unable to secure their features. “No reply from Nicki, Drake was still working on [Certified Lover Boy].” Nas accounted for Drake’s rejection by pointing out how busy he was on his own album. “Drake replied, ’cause you know Gee Roberson’s my manager,” he said. “Drake and Gee are cool. And he was still working on Certified Lover Boy and whatnot and he was 100 percent focused on that. This was like a few weeks ago and I understood completely, and he said he’s down to do something but [it was] just not the right time. He was trying to get his own sh*t together.”

When asked which song he wanted Drake on, Nas’ answer, “Dolla Sign Slime,” prompted some light roasting from Charlamagne, who wondered, “‘Slime’ is gang slang. Is Nas in a gang? Is Nas banging?” Ever the diplomat, Nas replied simply, “Next question,” with a shy grin. The hosts took a minute to educate him on the slang’s origins after he explained how it’s meaning has expanded for Gen Z — it’s a pretty funny moment.
