Yeezy Apparel Reaches Settlement Over Shipping Delays

Kanye West’s Yeezy Apparel has a notorious reputation for taking a long time to ship orders. The Adidas-ran company is self-important, as their founder Ye is, and often neglects timeliness in processing their customers’ orders.

The state of California finally penalized Yeezy for their consistent delays in a civil lawsuit, where Yeezy Apparel and Yeezy LLC will pay $950,000. The Los Angeles district attorney George Gascón spoke on the settlement: “Online consumers are entitled to protection against unwarranted fees and unreasonably long waits for purchases to arrive on their doorsteps. We will enforce state and federal laws governing online shopping in Los Angeles County.”

Although there was no admission of guilt or wrongdoing from Yeezy, they did not put up much of a fight in response to these accusations. California statute requires businesses to ship online orders to their customers within 30 days of the purchase. If that cannot be met due to a delay, the business must notify the customer.

Yeezy was accused of falsely advertising timely shipping, and gave no updates to customers when the 30-day period had passed in California. The suit was first brought forth on Oct. 22, and ended swiftly around two weeks later.

This legal blemish comes on the heels of Yeezy launching their NSLTD Boot on Nov. 5, which sold at the retail price of $340 USD.

Next, they will drop their highly-anticipated 1050 Boot in December for a staggering $400 USD. Hopefully they will have shipped their NLSTD Boot to their customers before then. If not, the state of California will certainly have a bone to pick with Yeezy.

Devonté Hynes (aka Dev Hynes aka Blood Orange) is one of the most talented musicians in the modern music landscape. Even if you removed his efforts as Lightspeed Champion and Blood Orange from his catalogue of music, you would still be left with an amazing career from an amazing artist.

In the past decade, Hynes has turned in moving piano performances at some of the most esteemed venues in the United States, and has composed scores for films including 2013’s Palo Alto, and 2019’s Queen & Slim

Most recently, Hynes was tasked with composing the score for Rebecca Hall’s new Netflix movie, Passing, which, according to Pitchfork, was “adapted from Nella Larson’s 1929 Harlem Renaissance novella about a light-skinned Black woman who lives under a white alter ego.”

Today, Hynes shared the title track from the film’s score. And while “Passing” features no vocals or lyrics, the beautiful ensemble of keys and horns conveys emotion as well as any songwriting could.

Astroworld Festival Security Guard Speaks Out, Says They Were “Severely Understaffed”

Eight people died and over three hundred people were injured at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival last weekend in Houston, Texas following a crowd surge that led to a stampede. Fans in attendance have been sharing firsthand accounts of what happened, including videos and photos, which have been heartbreaking to read and watch. Many festivalgoers have complained about how NRG Park was understaffed with security last weekend, and now a man that was hired to work security at the event is speaking out, echoing that sentiment.

In a video interview with TMZ, Darius Williams, who was hired by a company called Contemporary Services Corporation (CSC) to work event security at Astroworld, claims that the festival was “severely understaffed” and unprepared to deal with a tragedy of this magnitude.

Williams says that he was hired a few days before the festival began, and his role was not properly explained. He says that he only found out he was working front-gate security when he arrived on the festival grounds and asked right away to be moved to a different area because he was uncomfortable with the training he received. Williams revealed that he needed to pass an open-book exam before being hired, but teachers were allegedly giving him and others the answers needed for a passing score. He completed his training the day before Astroworld, but he ended up bailing on the job when he arrived at NRG Park because he was uncomfortable with the incompetence he witnessed.

Williams immediately realized that the festival was understaffed when he got there, saying that there was approximately one security guard for every five hundred people. He says that other guards expressed a desire to leave as well, especially after being asked to work a security role despite having no security background.

Post Malone Will Replace Travis Scott As A Day N Vegas Headliner

With Travis Scott dropping out of Day N Vegas in the wake of the deaths at his own Astroworld Festival, the Houston rapper has been replaced as a headliner by another Texan, Post Malone. He’ll close out the Saturday date this weekend, which Day N Vegas announced along with the rest of the set times on Monday evening.

Variety reported Travis’ withdrawal from the upcoming festival, citing a source that said the “Franchise” rapper was “too distraught to play” another show in the aftermath of the Astroworld incident, in which eight people died due to injuries sustained when the crowd pressed forward to get close to the stage. Another 300 people were reported injured.

Travis shared both a written statement and a video expressing his regrets for the incident. “My fans really mean the world to me,” he said. “I always just really want to leave them with a positive experience. […] I’m honestly just devastated. I could never imagine anything like this happening.” However, that hasn’t prevented him from being inundated with lawsuits, the first of which had already been filed the next day accusing Travis of “encouragement of violence.”

Meanwhile, Travis has also pledged his assistance to the victims’ families. Incidentally, his Day N Vegas replacement Post Malone recently postponed his own Posty Fest to 2022 citing logistical issues in the production of the event.

Kim Kardashian Says Travis Scott Is ‘Truly Devastated’ In Her Statement About Astroworld

Ever since the tragedy that took place at the Astroworld festival last weekend, Travis Scott has shared a couple of statements about what happened. In both of them, he understandably seemed to be in a down place emotionally. Now, Kim Kardashian, who is of course related to Kylie Jenner and therefore probably knows Scott better than most, has noted that Scott is indeed feeling some significant sadness right now.

In a pair of tweets, Kardashian wrote, “Absolutely heartbroken for the lives who were lost and anyone who was hurt at Astroworld. Just like all of you, our family is in shock by the tragedy. We are keeping all of the victims, families and loved ones impacted in our prayers for healing — as well as Travis who we know cares so much about his fans and is truly devastated.”

Meanwhile, Jenner gave a statement of her own, saying, “I want to make it clear we weren’t aware of any fatalities until the news came out after the show and in no world would have continued filming or performing. I am sending my deepest condolences to all the families during this difficult time and will be praying for the healing of everyone who has been impacted.”

Khloe Kardashian Gets Hate For Posting Thirst Traps Before Acknowledging Astroworld Tragedy

Since Friday, people all over have been mourning the tragedy that occurred at Astroworld Festival in Houston, Texas. Eight lives were lost, and hundreds of others were injured when a crowd surge took place at Travis Scott’s show, and the event has been described by many attendees as a “literal hell.”

While dealing with the aftermath, Scott has announced that he’ll be covering funeral costs for those who didn’t make it out alive, and will also be partnering with Better Help to provide mental health services to those in need after enduring so much trauma.

In the days since, several of those closest to the “90210” rapper have released statements regarding the incident, expressing their shock and disbelief at what happened. Scott’s baby mama and girlfriend, Kylie Jenner posted to her Instagram story on Sunday, and Kim Kardashian followed suit on Monday.

“Absolutely heartbroken for the lives who were lost and anyone who was hurt at Astroworld,” the mother of four wrote. “Just like all of you, our family is still in shock by the tragedy, we are keeping all of the victims, families and loved ones impacted in our prayers for healing – as well as Travis who we know cares so much about his fans and is truly devastated.”

While her sisters were sharing statements, Khloe Kardashian took to her Instagram page to show off a few sultry selfies, wearing a skin-tight printed dress that shows off her hourglass figure and rocking her signature long, blonde locks. It didn’t take long for the reality star to be bombarded with hateful comments for her “tone-deaf” photo dump.

“Read the room. The first Astroworld victim was buried yesterday,” one commenter replied. “People are watching you guys. I think we can pause this for a week or so after people died at TS concert. Just a thought,” another user added.

Several other comments flooded in, gassing the mother of one up, but those who are throwing shade refuse to be silenced. Just a few hours after showing off her dress, Khloe reposted a screenshot of Kim’s statement to her story, finally acknowledging the “mass-casualty incident.”

Dancers Thank Drake For Allegedly Throwing A Million Dollars In Houston Strip Club

Drake is no stranger to the strip club. He’s made that clear himself.

And a couple listens through his debut commercial mixtape, So Far Gone, and his most recent album, Certified Lover Boy, will tell you that he has a certain affinity for Houston strip clubs.

From 2009’s “Houstatlantavegas” to this year’s “TSU,” The Six God has always paid homage to H-Town clubs, and according to a DJ Akademiks IG post, it looks like Drizzy recently threw close to a million dollars in one of them.

The video, which Ak captioned, “They saying #drake went to the strip club in Houston and threw like a milly,” features a handful of dancers in a sea of cash, counting up the money Drake allegedly tossed on stage. All of the dancers call out, “Thanks, Drake!,” (a nod to the “Child’s Play” outro) and a couple of them can be seen wearing t-shirts boasting 21 Savage’s “I’m Mr. Bodycatcher, Slaughter Gang soul snatcher” line from CLB‘s “Knife Talk.”

While there’s no way to confirm Drake actually threw a million dollars at Houston’s Area 29 strip club, the amount of money shown in the IG video is impressive, and knowing his aforementioned affinity for strip clubs and proclivity for flexing his preposterous bank account, it would not come as a surprise if The Boy was tossing six figures around.

What do you think of Drake allegedly blowing a million dollars at the strip club? Let us know down in the comments.
