Young Thug’s Lawyer Refutes Claims That The Rapper Put A Hit On Someone Citing Lil Uzi Vert’s Diamond

We’re only two days into Young Thug’s YSL RICO trial and revelations are already coming at a rapid-fire pace. Today while trying to refute a piece of evidence brought by the prosecution, his lawyer referenced one of the strangest hip-hop news stories of the past few years. The piece of evidence is a conversation where Thug reportedly said “YSL rule the world kid. 24m on a n*gga head, y’all just start bringing me money.”

The prosecution introduced the evidence under the interpretation that the 24m line is about putting a bounty on someone’s head. But Thug’s lawyers had an entirely different explanation. in court today the defense claimed that the comment was actually a reference to Lil Uzi Vert, who famously got an expensive diamond embedded in their forehead. Subsequently the story was widely shared online with thousands of fans and numerous fellow rappers, including Young Thug sharing their reactions to it. Check out his lawyer making the explanation in court.

Young Thug’s 24m Comment Was Allegedly About Lil Uzi Vert

It’s yet another big revelation within the world of hip-hop from day two of the trial. Earlier today, defense lawyers claimed that the title phrase in Young Thug and Gunna’s song “pushin P.” But the explanation wasn’t what many thought. They claimed that it stood for “Pushing Positivity” which many online cracked jokes about after it happened. The song proved to be a massive hit for the pair in 2021. Even at the time it was called into question what exactly the title phrase meant, though this was not the explanation many were anticipating.

Earlier today, the defense lawyers made yet another surprise revelation. They explained the origin of a supposed beef between Thug and YFN Lucci. The beef is mentioned often in the prosecutions evidence. They explained that the beef was manufactured primarily for Lucci to generate attention and clout towards his own rap career. What do you think of the explanation that Young Thug’s statement was actually a reference to Lil Uzi Vert’s forehead diamond? Let us know in the comment section below.

Young Thug’s Lawyer Claims “Pushing P” Stands For “Pushing Positivity” In Court

Young Thug’s YSL RICO trial got started earlier this week. Since even before it got underway the trial has been making waves. A lot of that has come from disconnect between the judge and lawyers for both the defense and prosecution. The start of the trial was delayed by the prosecution failing to deliver all the text slides from their opening statement to the defense. The jury from the trial had to be dismissed while it was sorted out which delayed opening statements in the case.

Now, the trial is fully underway revelations are coming quickly. Earlier today, Thug’s lawyer made the claim that he and YFN Lucci’s beef only existed to help Lucci get clout and exposure. Now, he’s made another even more surprising claim. Last year, Young Thug teamed up with Future and Gunna for the hit song “pushin P.” The title became a popular meme and today in court his lawyer tried to explain what it means. He claims that the phrase means “Pushing Positivity” which many online found funny. Check out the video of his lawyer making the statement below.

Young Thug’s Lawyer Gets Attention For “Pushin P” Claim

In the comments of a video of the claim being made, Thug’s fans react. “That lawyer cooking” and “Man is doing a great job Fr” two commenters joke. Others question the believability of the claim and whether or not it will actually help Thug in the trial. Many fans are following the trial closely expecting to get some behind the scenes looks into Thug’s world as a rap star.

Yesterday following the jury dismissal, Thug’s defense team filed a motion for a mistrial. They cited the prosecutions failure to turn over their slides as their primary reason. Ultimately, though the judge agreed that the slides needed to be handed over, he declined their push for a mistrial ruling. Do you believe Thug’s lawyer’s claim that “Pushin P” actually stands for “Pushing Positivity?” Let us know in the comment section below.

Young Thug’s Lawyer Explains YFN Lucci Connection In Court

Young Thug’s high-profile YSL RICO trial got started earlier this week. Though it’s just the second day, there are already major revelations being made. According to Bryson “Boom” Paul, Thug’s attorney Brian Steele provided an explanation for the original of Thug’s beef with fellow rapper YFN Lucci. He alleged that Lucci is actually broke and is attaching himself to more relevant rappers in order to generate attention and clout. Steele even claimed that Thug himself did something similar to Lil Wayne when he was a much less popular artist.

The trial is properly underway now after a rough start to the proceedings yesterday. The judge was already frustrated with lawyers from both sides, even before the opening day proceedings. But he was even more frustrated with the prosecution after they failed to deliver all the text slides in their opening statement to the defense. As a result, the opening statements were delayed. The jury had to be dismissed while they sorted the problem of sharing the opening statements between lawyers.

Young Thug’s Lawyer Brings Up YFN Lucci, Lil Wayne

As a result of the failure of the prosecution to hand over all their material Young Thug’s lawyers moved for a mistrial yesterday. Despite his issues with the prosecutions handling of the proceedings, the judge denied the mistrial request. It’s the most recent in a series of issues between the lawyers in the case and the judge who is hearing it.

During the pretrial, the judge had a heated moment with Thug’s lawyer Brian Steele. While they were examining a witness brought in as a gang expert, Steele was frustrated with the prosecutions constant objections. When he described the evaluation as a “farce” the judge specifically warned him to not use that description. That was just one of numerous issues that emerged with lawyers throughout pre trial proceedings. What do you think of Young Thug’s lawyers explanation of his beef with YFN Lucci? Let us know in the comment section below.

Young Thug Defense Attorney’s Opening Statements Reveal Meaning Of Rapper’s Moniker

Waiting for the YSL RICO trial to finally begin has been an unbelievably lengthy process, but now that Young Thug and his co-defendants are in court, we can hardly keep up with the updates as they come at us. After filing a motion for a mistrial on Monday (November 27), the So Much Fun hitmaker and his defense team were ultimately denied. The “Day Before” artist is no stranger to such circumstances, as his requests for bond over the past 500+ days were all rejected, citing him as a serious flight risk amid the allegations he’s facing.

Thankfully, Thugger has been able to stay positive through it all. He looks to have filled out more during his jail stint, with some speculating this could be a result of clearing drugs and alcohol out of his system. The producer/lyricist is in the capable hands of Brian Steel in court, and on Tuesday (November 28), we heard the attorney’s opening arguments, which were compelling, albeit sort of comedic.

Brian Steel is Standing on Business for Young Thug

While the prosecution is painting a photo of the 32-year-old that reflects a violent, dangerous gang member, Steel insists that his client has holiness watching over him. “Truly Humble Under God, that’s what THUG means,” the celebrity lawyer said in Georgia court this morning. The internet is happy to see things off to such a strong start for Jeffrey Williams and remains hopeful that he’ll walk away from this experience a better man.

It’s been nearly two years of Young Thug being locked away from those he loves most, but still, the Atlanta native knows he’s got an abundance of supporters standing behind him. Among them is his girlfriend, Mariah The Scientist, who’s been sharing frequent updates on the man (and his Candy Crush addiction) with the YSL community. Check out her outfit in support of Thugger’s first day of trial at the link below, and let us know what you think of Brian Steel’s work so far in the comments.

The YSL Trial: Defense Attorney’s Push for Mistrial Denied on Day One

Defense Attorney's Push for Mistrial Denied on Day One

The YSL Rico Trial is underway, and the opening day saw the defense attempting to receive a mistrial.

According to court reporter Jewel Wicker, Young Thug’s attorney Brian Steel, noted the prosecution had “intentional misconduct” by not providing “all of their displays and opening statements,” which were previously requested by the judge.

“Three weeks ago, you ordered the parties to share all of their displays and opening statement to the others so we don’t have to have these interruptions. I did that,” Steel said. “The state shared with me four attachments. That’s all they had. That’s what I got.”

The mistrial was denied. You can watch the moment below courtesy of 11 Alive.

Young Thug Trial Judge Brings Service Dog To The Courtroom: Watch

Young Thug is currently on trial in the YSL RICO case. Overall, this is a case that a lot of people have been keeping a watchful eye on, and for good reason. If convicted, Thugger could be going to prison for decades. However, if he gets off, it would be a huge win for the hip-hop world. The trial began just yesterday, and already, there is quite a bit to unpack. In fact, a lot of the biggest stories involve the State and how they have already made some massive mistakes since their opening statements.

For instance, the DA tried to shift the burden of proof over to the defense, which is simply not how trials work. The judge has been quite ticked off about the State and the defense not doing the things he asked of them. He seemed frustrated with the waste of time that was being displayed in the court, and he has already become a viral figure. Central to this is the fact that he brought a service dog with him to court, and he will continue to do so throughout the rest of the trial’s proceedings.

In the video above, he explains that the dog is extremely friendly. Overall, he doesn’t bark or really wander around. Instead, he is just extremely well trained and there to do a singular job. Moreover, the judge made sure to warn people that they are not to feed his pooch. This is because he believes the dog is already pretty spoiled. It was a humorous moment in the trial that a lot of folks appreciated. However, it remains to be seen how the dog will affect the trial moving forward. Most likely, the dog won’t make an impact. Albeit, the dog is cute.

Young Thug’s Mistrial Motion Denied During Chaotic First Day Of Trial

After months of jury selection and more than a year and a half behind bars, Young Thug’s YSL RICO trial finally began earlier today. The trial is streaming online and thousands of fans are tuning in to follow the twists and turns as the rap star’s fate is decided. Before opening statements could even get underway today, however, there was already drama.

Thug’s attorney Brian Steel accused the prosecution of intentional misconduct after they failed to provide the defense with the text slides in their opening statement. The judge was forced to excuse the jurors from the courtroom while the situation was sorted out. While the judge did chastise the prosecution for not turning over all of their slides he ultimately declined Steel’s move for a mistrial. The judge clearly wasn’t happy with either the prosecution or the defense for delays in the trial. Check out the most recent updates in the Young Thug case as they happen below.

Young Thug’s Trial Off To A Rocky Start

Even though the trial itself just started today, there’s already been months of drama for fans to sift through. A few weeks ago the judge officially ruled that lyrics from various Young Thug songs will be allowed as evidence in the trial. The decision was largely unpopular with fans and fellow rappers. Subsequently many, like Meek Mill and Killer Mike spoke out against it. Rap lyrics being used in trials has been a hot topic for years. Some states are even moving to pass laws forbidding them from being used as evidence. Unfortunately for Thug, they’re allowed in Georgia where he’s on trial.

There was also more friction between lawyers and judges during the pre-trial process. The judge in the case had to administer a warning to Thug’s lawyer. It came after he called one particular witness evaluation a “farce.” It was just one of many issues the judge had with lawyers leading up to the trial. What do you think of interruptions already taking place in the YSL RICO trial even on the very first day? Let us know in the comment section below.

Young Thug Requests Mistrial In YSL RICO Case

Day one of the Young Thug and YSL RICO trial already got off to a pretty wild and contentious start. Moreover, during the prosecution’s opening statements, in which they presented some PowerPoint slides, Thug’s attorney Brian Steele interrupted- which reporter Meghan Cuniff noted is bizarre for legal proceedings- and called for a mistrial in this case. This is due to his claim that the information in these slides wasn’t disclosed, and the defense lawyer said that these revelations were barred in court. All this is according to Cuniff, who added that the District Attorney’s team acknowledged that they messed up by proposing a curative jury instruction. Of course, they still objected to a mistrial motion.

Furthermore, Cuniff also quoted a prosecutor in the Young Thug trial whose inflammatory take provided objection. “‘What you will not hear any evidence of is that the defendants were not involved in a criminal street gang,’” she wrote. “Unreal burden shifting from a prosecutor here. Stunning that she said this and seemed surprised when there was an objection. ‘If that’s the case, then she’s just lying to the court.’” It’s unclear who the journalist quoted with that last sentence, but we can assume it’s the defense’s opposition to the prosecutor.

Young Thug’s Lawyer Brian Steele Keeps Pushing For Mistrial: See Updates

However, this isn’t a win on either side, as the court denied previous motions to dismiss this case and no one is any happier with what prosecutors have been doing. As such, it’s harder than ever to tell what will happen with this case moving forward, which is ironic considering that it’s finally underway after so long. What’s most worrisome about these developments, though, is how they obfuscate what Young Thug and YSL’s tru culpability is in all this. With so many differing procedures, contested approaches, and lack of informational organization, it’s clear that both sides are struggling to reckon with the breadth, scope, and visibility of this case.

Regardless, this rocky start to this RICO trial prompted many to look back at what happened with Thugger and YSL up until this point. There’s a lot to sum up and consider, without even accounting for the details and developments that didn’t make it to the media cycle. Nevertheless, hopefully this trial aims to concern itself with the evidence and the arguments at hand in a clear, fair, equitable, and effective way for the sake of all those involved. On that note, stay up to date on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Young Thug and the YSL RICO trial.

Mariah The Scientist Sports A Suit And Tie To Day One Of Young Thug’s Trial

Nobody can claim that Mariah The Scientist doesn’t stick by her man. Her commitment to Young Thug hasn’t wavered a bit since he was arrested all the way back in May of last year. Now after all the time he’s spent in police custody and months of jury selection, his trial finally got underway today. Opening statements began this morning and Thug was unsurprisingly present in court. But Mariah was also in attendance.

She took to her Instagram story to share a sneak peek at her attire for day one of the trial with fans. She’s sporting a sleek black suit and tie combo that had fans comparing her to Janelle Monae. But it was her white undershirt that many fans honed in on. They took to the comments to crack jokes about Mariah wearing a YSL-branded shirt to the trial of a gang that’s also called YSL, even though they’re different YSLs. “Wearing a YSL shirt to a Rico case for YSL is crazy,” and “Wearing that name brand don’t really help the case” two fans joke. Even before the trial began there was already tension between the parties involved. Reports earlier in the month claimed that the prosecutions methodology for turning in evidence was upsetting the judge overseeing the case. Later on he had a tense moment with Young Thug’s lawyer. It happened after the lawyer called one particular witness evaluation a farce. The judge instructed him not to describe the trial in those terms again.

Fans and fellow rappers are divided on whether they believe Young Thug can beat his case. Many fans online are taking a more pessimistic approach. But rappers like Meek Mill have looked at the messiness of the trial and decided that it actually favors Thugger. Young Thug Appears In Court For Opening Arguments In YSL RICO Trial

After an incredibly long wait, it’s officially day 1 in Young Thug’s YSL RICO trial. The rapper has been in police custody for over a year and a half awaiting trial since the sweeping arrest of more than two dozen YSL affiliates shocked the rap world last year. Earlier this month, the exhaustive jury selection process finally came to a close and the trial was officially scheduled to get underway today. Thugger is one of just 6 remaining defendants left in the indictment after others took plea deals to avoid trial or were tried separately.

Earlier today, opening statements in the case began. That meant that the newest images of Young Thug in court hit the internet a fans had a chance to react to the start of the trial. While hundreds are still calling for his release, there are many who doubt his chances to beat the case against him. The massive indictment suggests that Thug was the de-facto leader of a gang, which the prosecution alleges was also called YSL just like his music label. Unsurprisingly, Thugger has denied all charges. Check out a new photo of the rapper on day one of his trial below.

Young Thug’s Trial Officially Underway

Earlier this month, the judge in the case made a controversial ruling. Lyrics from various Young Thug songs will be allowed to be entered as evidence in the trial. Debates over whether or not rap lyrics should be allowed in court have raged for years. Some states even passed laws to ensure that they aren’t admissible. The hip-hop world reacted with loud objections when the ruling was made public earlier this month. Artists like Killer Mike and Meek Mill came to Thug’s defense and spoke out about using rap lyrics in court.

Earlier this year, Young Thug released his new album Business Is Business. The project was largely assembled from already existing material recorded prior to his arrest. What do you think of Young Thug in court for the first day of his YSL RICO trial? Let us know in the comment section below.
