Playboi Carti’s New Song And Music Video “Ring The Alarm” Is Coming Soon

Playboi Carti’s new era is fully underway, but you wouldn’t know it if you only listen to music through digital streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. His new singles have been dropping exclusively on YouTube but that hardly means they’re throwaways. Earlier this week he shared a new song called “Backr00ms” which featured Travis Scott. The song racked up millions of views right away and even got a shoutout on Twitter from Ice Spice.

He’s been dropping quite a bit of material recently and doesn’t appear to be done any time soon. News is making its way around hip-hop sites online confirming that a new song called “RING THE ALARM” is on the way. Much like the other songs it’s expected to be attached to a new video. Pictures from what looks like the music video shoot are spreading online alongside the news of the single’s impending drop. It still hasn’t officially been announced if all of these singles are building towards a new album, or when that album might drop.

Playboi Carti Continues Dropping New Music

Playboi Carti has been making waves online even outside of the series of new songs he’s shared. He’s found himself at the center of some new dating rumors after sharing come content online with Camila Cabello. That first started last month when he shared a picture of the two of them together in the studio. He doubled down earlier this week revealing he had been facetiming the pop star and former Fifth Harmony member.

While that’s been going on he’s also been dealing with drama surrounding his baby mama Iggy Azalea. After he shared a video of himself with their son during the holidays, Azalea clapped back. She called Carti an absent father, something she’s accused him of numerous times publicly. Carti didn’t respond directly to the allegation as he’s largely avoided discussing them publicly. Jay-Z Heard Pimp C Dissing Him For Prior 2pac Beef, According To Record Exec

During a recent episode of The Art Of Dialogue, record executive Greg Taylor sat joined the show to discuss a variety of rap-related subjects. During one of the segments, he told a story about an awkward encounter that happened over the phone. The story begins shortly after the deal for Jay-Z and UGK to collaborate on “Big Pimpin” was cut. Then during a call that was unfortunately on speaker phone, he delivered the news to Pimp C and problems started to emerge.

“I called Pimp on the phone like, ‘Yo Pimp’ … I got a million-dollar check for you and all we wanted was a $100,000. He was like, ‘Who’s that with?’ I said, Roc-A-Fella. He was like, ‘Ain’t that over there with JAY-Z.’ I was like, ‘Yeah.’ He was like, ‘Man, tell him to take that check and give it to 2Pac momma. He gonna be stealing all my sh*t,” Taylor explains. Unfortunately, he wasn’t quick enough at turning speakerphone off to prevent Jay from hearing it. “Yeah, [Jay-Z] heard him. Because I had to jump up and apologize for this n*gga to clean that sh*t up quick. I didn’t realize he was in the room. Jay-Z Overhearing Pimp C’s Diss Story

Recently, Dame Dash has been making a big deal out of telling old stories about Jay-Z. It comes as many fans have claimed that Dame has basically been cut off entirely from Jay and company and he’s had to dodge many accusations of using Jay’s name to get headlines. Most recently he told the story of how the legendary Roc-A-Fella rapper’s beef with DMX began. He faced accusations from fans online for over-exaggerating the role he personally played in the events.

Last month, Jay-Z shared his Tidal playlist highlighting some of his favorite songs of the year. Hip-hop favorites like Nas, Drake, Travis Scott, PLayboi Carti, lil Yachty, Westside Gunn and more also popped up on his list. NBA YoungBoy is an artist who has been able to capture the youth. Overall, this is no easy task. However, with a plethora of huge viral hits and some great albums, YoungBoy has been able to make it happen. He is still very young and has lots of time to continue developing his sound. That said, it seems like his formula is most definitely working. He dropped a ton of albums this year, and his fans were ready to hear all of them. In 2024, he is gearing up for another big year, and fans are excited for what he has in store.

If you know anything about YoungBoy, you are aware of the fact that he has consistently been at the forefront of YouTube streaming. He is one of the best-performing artists on the YouTube platform. In fact, in 2023, he was the highest-streamed hip-hop artist on the video-sharing platform. This is pretty impressive when you consider how Drake and Bad Bunny were behind him. Peso Pluma was number one on the list, while Taylor Swift found herself in the fifth spot.

DC The Don Releases Coveted Throwaways On New Mixtape “SACRED HEART 2 (+)”

A few days ago we compiled a list of five artists who we expect to really blow up in 2024. We went for names that were starting to garner some attention but have not reached the maximum potential just yet. After sitting with it for the past week or so, there might have been someone who should have made the cut. DC The Don, a Wisconsin native, was grossly underlooked.

He can sing and rap and floats around the trap and melodic rap subgenres. DC shares similarities with other artists in these lanes, but is developing a unique sound. Last year he impressed us with some singles such as “Tell Shyanne” and his deluxe version of FUNERAL. DC The Don is back now to deliver a sequel to his SACRED HEART mixtape series.

This second installment is currently available on Soundcloud and YouTube. However, it will be out on other DSPs on January 24 according to Genius. Additionally, this was something that DC really wanted the fans to listen to. He explained in detail why. “Psa. Sacred heart 2 is a body of work that was purely curated for the fans. I know the mixing is s*** on some songs most of these are lost records from when my car was robbed & they took my hard drive/laptop. so I couldn’t mix these but I wanted you to have them.”

Charleston White Threatens YouTuber For Setting Him Up With Transgender Woman

Charleston White’s wild antics and perspectives continue to draw interest online for his outspoken and wholly unfiltered personality. Moreover, he recently participated in a YouTube video from creator Unghetto in which he would meet 20 women and give his thoughts on them. It’s a relatively popular content genre right now in which many rappers have participated, and whether it’s too cringeworthy or creepy is for yourself to decide. Regardless, things went sour when the social media provocateur met a member of the LGBTQIA2+ community. Some reports say they were a gay man, but most indicate that they are a transgender woman.

Then, Charleston White proceeded to rant against Unghetto and the woman for tricking him, stating that the interview was over and that they broke a contract. He left the studio shortly after, and then took to social media to rant some more about the issue. “We got the backend, without having to sue!” the alleged animal assaulter captioned his Instagram Live video. “But we’re still going to sue @unghetto though.” As such, it seems like he’s really taking this far and might get himself in a whole lot of backlash as a result.

Still, it’s impossible to say whether this would actually manifest, and would open up a much larger conversation about gender and whether misgendering under false promises would constitute any legitimate legal repercussion. Perhaps 2024 will hold some answers in that regard. Meanwhile, Charleston White will likely continue to be as viral, provocative, and incendiary with his takes, actions, and content. Hopefully he tones down at least a little bit, as there is so much animosity that someone attacked him while he got his hair cut.

Another reason as to why the Texas native could keep popping up in headlines is his ongoing beef with Soulja Boy. They both have too many conflicts to name, so some smoke is definitely coming next year either way. SZA Reveals She Struggles Controlling Her Temper

Earlier this month, SZA sat down for a very long conversation with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. The interview has been making waves for weeks now as the R&B darling gets impressively candid on a variety of subjects. She also revealed plenty of details to fans about her massive 2023. The year saw her riding the massive success of her album SOS to two massive hits in “Kill Bill” and “Snooze.” But despite all of her success, there is at least one thing she still thinks she can improve on.

“My biggest priority now is being an emotionally regulated person with healthy relationships,” she explains at the beginning of the segment. That’s in line with something else she says in the interview about fame. She feels like the sensation of being famous is unnatural and wants to escape it. The singer also goes on to explain how she’s also praying to control her temper. She wants “to be slower to anger, like I literally pray, like oh, you know, may I be slower to be anger, may I be calm, like filled with love and kindness.” Check out the full interview below.

SZA concluded the segment by saying that she just wants to be a better person. “and not in like the idea of what a good person is, I want to be honest enough to create boundaries, healthy boundaries and I want to be honest enough to say no,” she claims. The new interview sheds plenty of light on what the R&B darling may have been up to privately in the past few years. There was a 5-year gap between the release of SOS and her previous album CTRL.

Earlier this month there was discussion online about SZA’s hit “Snooze.” Fans were discussing the list of songwriters involved in the track. That was until Punch from her label Top Dawg Entertainment had to weigh in. He clarified that she did, in fact, write every word of the song herself. Peso Pluma, Drake, Bad Bunny, And More Were YouTube’s Most-Viewed Artists In 2023

YouTube released its list of the most-viewed artists for 2023, and Peso Pluma took this year’s top spot. The musician gained over 8.5 billion views on his music videos across the globe.

“I feel humble and grateful that my music has made it to the top spot on YouTube,” Peso Pluma told The Hollywood Reporter. “A huge thank you to my musicians and team, my fans, everyone at YouTube and all the people who have made this project possible.”

Two of his songs, “Ella Baila Sola” (feat. Eslabón Armado) and “La Bebe (Remix)” (feat. Yng Lvcas), placed in third and fourth on YouTube’s Top 10 Songs in the US for 2023 as well.

According to the publication, “Ella Baila Sola” got a significant boost through TikTok. It broke a ton of records, too. Peso Pluma’s hit became the first regional Mexican song to make it in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 4 on the chart. It also spent 19 weeks on the Hot Latin Songs Chart and is certified 21x Platinum — amounting to 1.26 million in units.

As for the other artists rounding out YouTube’s most-viewed list this year, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Drake, Bad Bunny, and Taylor Swift were the rest of the Top 5.

SZA Reflects On Her Achievements This Year, Reveals She Has No More Goals

While it’s obvious that SZA had an absolutely massive 2023, she may have accomplished even more than people realize. During a recent interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music she reflected on a year that saw her star power reaching higher than ever before. During one segment of the interview when she focuses on what’s next she makes a surprising revelation. “I don’t have any more goals,” she revealed.

In an effort to explain herself, she discussed the incredibly impressive list of achievements she’s pulled off. “I didn’t think I would ever go platinum. I sold a bunch of records, I got to meet Stevie Wonder, I got to meet Beyoncé and work with her, I got to meet Frank Ocean. My mom came and my dad came to all these cool countries to see me perform. I’ve had sold-out shows, I got to headline a festival,” she explained. “I’m nominated for Grammys. I’ve won a Grammy. I’m done, for me, personally. … Anything past this is so much more than I wanted, thought of, dreamed of.” It’s a fair question to wonder what else is even left for her to achieve. Elsewhere in the interview, SZA made a number of other notable points. She spoke on the nature of fame and how uncomfortable she is with being famous. Subsequently she claimed that it leaves her “on edge” and wasn’t a normal thing for a person to experience.

Additionally, SZA recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of her smash hit album SOS. She did so by posting a series of teasers about a deluxe version of the album. The deluxe edition is called LANA and it’s been teased multiple times across the past few months. Despite that, the project doesn’t have an official release date quite yet. Lil Nas X Finds Surprise Ally In Christian Rapper Lecrae After He Defends Nas’ Controversial Comments

Last month, Lil Nas X took to Twitter and Instagram to share a tease of some brand-new music. Like much of what the rapper does, it eventually became controversial. This time the controversy spawned from Lil Nas claiming that he was entering his “Christian era” with his new music. That didn’t sit right with some Christians. The rapper famously drew the ire of many religious fans and critics when he used devil imagery in the music video for his song “MONTERO.”

Though Lil Nas X quickly responded to haters with a statement of his own. he’s now finding another surprising ally. Christian rapper Lecrae came to Lil Nas’ defense following the Christian era comment, sharing a statement to his YouTube channel. “I don’t like it when I see non-Christians being chastised with Christian belief. They don’t subscribe to what you describe to. So how can you challenge them with that? They don’t even subscribe to the same book. They don’t play the same game you play. So how are they breaking the rules?” he said in defense of the rapper. Later in the video, he asked fans not to judge Lil Nas for his past actions and even extended an invite to the rapper to explain himself on Lecrae’s platform. Lecrae Stands Up For Lil Nas X

Lil Nas X’s debut album MONTERO dropped in 2021 and he’s been pretty quiet since then. His most recent single “STAR WALKIN’” dropped last year as a collaboration with League Of Legends. The song wasn’t an instant hit but rose up the charts in late 2022 and now has more than 380 million streams on Spotify alone.

Last month, Lil Nas X began teasing his new era online. While he has shared some snippets it’s been pretty scant on actual details in terms of when fans can expect new music. Jaidyn Alexis & Funny Marco Chop It Up In New Interview

Jaidyn Alexis has become the latest star to sit down with Funny Marco. The viral music star, and baby mama of Blueface, sat down to talk about everything that came to mind. The interview covered everything from her viral fame to her contentious relationship with the LA rapper. However, it’s a very low-key interview, and very reminiscent of Bobbi Althoff’s style of “awkward interview”. Despite the title of the series being Open Thoughts, Alexis is not the most open interviewee. Be sure to watch the full 20-minute interview below.

Alexis’ interview comes a few weeks after Blueface walked out of his own interview with Marco. In what was likely a staged bit, Blueface walked out of the interview after Marco was unable to name three of the off-beat talent’s songs. Marco got as far as Thotiana and it’s Cardi B remix but couldn’t think of a third song before Blueface called it quits on the discussion.

Funny Marco Speaks On G Herbo Interview Fallout

Meanwhile, Funny Marco has claimed that his interview with G Herbo going viral led to Herbo’s team demanding its removal. “Okay, Mr. Herbo. The sh-t go viral. Y’all seen it. Team then calls. ‘Take this shit down! Take this shit down!’” Marco claimed during a stand-up show this week. However, Marco said he refused the demand and kept the interview up. Since the interview went live, Marco has claimed that the final product was much tamer than what actually happened on set. Marco alleges that he was called a “bi-tch” multiple times and that his guests broke his $30,000 watch. Herbo, who also reportedly threw a cup at Marco, has since claimed that there was no ill intent behind anything he did during the interview and that he was just being playful with Marco. Southside also weighed in, calling Marco a “b-tch” and asking why he was trying to start beef over the interview. Marco has not directly responded to either Herbo or Southside.
