Young Dolph’s ‘Hall Of Fame’ Is His First Posthumous Single
In the less than 12 months since Young Dolph was gunned down in his native Memphis, his Paper Route Empire cohorts have made a point of honoring their fallen brother. In January, the Paper Route Empire Presents: Long Live Dolph compilation album dropped featuring PRE rappers Key Glock, Big Moochie Grape, and others. And today, PRE has leveled up with “Hall Of Fame,” the first track from Young Dolph to be released following his death.
“Hall Of Fame” is accompanied by an animated video, which is a loop of a boy admiring a shrine to the late rapper. A Dolphin logo/Paper Route Empire branded sports car rolls down Memphis’ Adolph “Young Dolph” Thornton Jr. Avenue to a hall where Dolph’s legacy is honored. The iced-out doors open and the boy looks upon a wall of Dolph’s records, framed in jewel-encrusted borders. A bust of Dolph with his diamond-studded PPE necklace around it sits in the center.
Produced by Bandplay, Dolph floats on the track, rapping swiftly like he always did, spitting: “They say I’m showing out, they say I should be ashamed, I don’t do it for the clout, b*tch, I do it for the gang. You can walk in any trap and I bet they know my name, Frank Matthews of the South, put me in the hall of fame.”

Today would have been the 37th birthday of Young Dolph. The late rapper, entrepreneur, and visionary of Paper Route Empire leaves behind a legacy filled with classic bangers and moments that fans will cherish forever. In celebration, The SOURCE salutes Young Dolph a Happy Heavenly Birthday and recalls some of his most iconic fan moments.
Young Dolph Gives Away Lamborghini to a Fan
in 2020, Dolph was releasing his Rich Slave album. In promotion, he gave away a Lamborghini to a lucky fan. “THEM: ‘Dolph not gonna give away his Lamborghini, why would he do that?’” he wrote on Instagram. “ME: ‘BECAUSE I GOT THE BEST FANS IN THE WHOLE WORLD.’”
The fan would meet Dolph and also receive the Lambo, which the fan turned around and sold. Once the fan flipped the car for cash, Young Dolph hopped on IG with a simple message: “GET PAID.”
Dolph Mentors Troubled Youth, Who Asks to Go To the Trap House
By court mandate, Young Dolph had to spend time with a youth whose mom stated he was acting out and stealing. One ot capture his life for socials, Dolph showed the time spent with the kid and gave fans a laugh by revealing the kid asked to make a visit to the trap house instead of a mansion.

Young Dolph’s First Posthumous Single, “Hall of Fame,” Releases to Celebrate His 37th Birthday
In honor of what would have been the 37th birthday of Young Dolph, Paper Route Empire has released the late rapper’s first posthumous single, “Hall of Fame.”
Dolph is in vintage form on the Bandplay-produced song, detailing his history, celebrating his accomplishments, and showing off his undeniable charm with uncommon flexes.
“Have you ever felt a V12 when the gears change?/Have you seen my new charm? It’s taller than Johnny Dang.”
As Paper Route Empire pays homage to Dolph’s legacy by working as hard as they can, Dolph’s first posthumous record continues a very busy year for the label he founded. The label compilation album Paper Route Empire Presents: Long Live Dolph, which includes heartfelt tributes to Dolph from practically every artist on the roster, from emerging stars like Key Glock to relatively rookies like Paper Route Woo, served as the beginning of the run.

ICYMI: Court Date Postponed For Young Dolph Murder Suspect’s Trial
A court date has been postponed for one of the men accused of murdering Young Dolph, born Adolph Thorton Jr., on Nov. 17, 2021 in Memphis.
32-year-old Cornelius Smith was expected in court last Monday, but will now appear on July 29. Smith will appear with his co-defendant, Justin Johnson who’s also accused in the shooting death of the “100 Shots” rapper last year.

Smith has been charged with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm, employment of a firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony, and theft of property over ten-thousand dollars. He’s also been charged with the attempted murder of Young Dolph’s brother, who was present at the time of the fatal shooting.

They worked side by side on J’s The Grind Don’t Stop, Nipsey’s Bullets Ain’t Got No Name, Vol. 2. and J added a standout solo song, “All Get Right,” too Nipsey’s revolutionary Crenshaw.
After shining on one of the highest-profile mixtapes of all time, J. Stone went deeper. The Coldest Story Ever, 25 / 8 No Brakes, and Neighborhood Watch became catalog milestones, which helped All Money partner with a major label, Nipsey then urged J to create the series that would propel him further. Although Nip’ was unable to see it, The Definition Of Loyalty met that challenge. After nearly quitting music after the tragic 2019 loss of Nipsey, J. Stone let hurt become hunger, evident on The Definition Of Pain (2020). Both albums peaked at #2 on the iTunes Hip Hop charts.

Young Dolph’s Alleged Killers’ Court Date Was Moved After New Evidence Was Discovered
Memphis’ FOX13 News reports that the court date for Justin Johnson and Cornelius Smith, the two men accused of killing Young Dolph, has been moved per their attorneys’ request. Both men appeared in court on Friday, May 27, where their attorneys requested a reset to July 1 due to some new discovery that they say will be vital to the judge setting Smith’s bond. July 1 will also be Smith’s new bond hearing.

Smith’s attorney, Michael Scholl, said, “We are receiving more information and I want to take a look at it. One of the factors that go into the bond is the likelihood of conviction. Other factors are [whether the accused is a] flight risk.”
Johnson was identified by police as a suspect in the case around two months after Dolph was shot to death outside a local Memphis bakery, Makeda’s cookies. A warrant for Johnson’s arrest was issued in January and he was arrested shortly thereafter in Indiana.
Meanwhile, Smith was identified and arrested when the car used in the murder was linked to another shooting in the immediate aftermath of Dolph’s death. A third suspect, Shundale Barnett, was arrested in January but was mistakenly released, while two other men, Devin Burns and Joshua Taylor, were also named as persons of interest in the case.
