YG Shares A Heartfelt In-Studio Video For ‘Alone’ From His Forthcoming Album
Earlier this month, YG began the rollout for his upcoming sixth studio album, I Got Issues, with a smooth performance of the album’s lead single “Toxic” for A COLORS Show. After announcing the project’s official release date, he’s getting going in earnest with another laid-back single, “Alone.” The common throughline appears to be a thread of introspection that has always been in his musical output but has become more pronounced now that he’s in his 30s with more control over his music and career. While it remains to be seen whether more aggressive singles like “Run” and “Scared Money” will appear on the project, YG has displayed a growing sense of balance in his music.
Rather than dropping an elaborate video for “Alone,” YG doubles down on the song’s reflective nature with an in-studio performance video highlighting its moodiness. Seated on a stool in front of his microphone with a red Solo cup and backed by candles and masked security guards (the skiing kind, not the COVID kind), YG takes stock of how his gangster habits — formed by the trauma of growing up in Compton — interfere with his current lifestyle. He’s got money, status, and safety now; he’s got to leave the streets alone. Whether he’ll be able to is another story entirely but we’ll say this: He has a way of staying out of trouble and making amends when he does mess up. That’s more than you can say for a lot of entertainers.

I Got Issues will be out 9/30 via Def Jam. The album is available to pre-save and pre-order here.
YG Announces New Album ‘I Got Issues’ for Sept. 30
YG is ready to invite you back into his rap world, announcing his new album, I Got Issues.
I Got Issues will be available to fans in both digital and CD offerings on September 30. The album will feature the singles “Scared Money” featuring J Cole and Moneybagg Yo, “Run” featuring Tyga, 21 Savage, and BIA as well as YG’s most recent single “Toxic.”
Recently, YG hosted a VIP private dinner at the Warehouse Downtown in Los Angeles, California, to kick off the revival of the 4Hunnid brand. Zack Bia, Guapdad4000, Chiquis, Boo Johnson, Coco Jones, and Emily Tosta were just a handful of the attendees.
With Drop I, YG, best known for his contagious, Mustard-produced, party-ready songs and candid accounts of life in Compton, proudly revives the 4Hunnid brand. Similar to how the Compton culture influences his music, way of life, and daily morality, so is the 4Hunnid brand. The 4Hunnid line, featuring T-shirt 4H GANGSTA SS logos that represent the “real street definition” of a gangster, is ingrained in YG’s DNA.
Instead of capturing the spirit of streetwear, the 4Hunnid collection honestly reinvents it. The goods are entirely cut, stitched, and built in Los Angeles, California, with prices ranging from $60 to $180. The line combines individually customized and modern boxy fits and is made of high-quality, heavy-weight fabrications. The BLOCK RUNNER, a classic wardrobe item from Los Angeles, is recreated in the collection using only 100% genuine leather and a flame-shaped emblem sewn onto the side panels.
You can check out the pieces and event photos below. The collection is available at 4Hunnid.com.

YG Announces His New Album, ‘I Got Issues’
This Fall is looking to be a promising season for West Coast hip-hop. Today, rapper YG has announced his third studio album, I Got Issues, for later this month.
Ahead of the upcoming album, YG has already released three singles — “Scared Money” with J. Cole and Moneybagg Yo, “Run” with Tyga, 21 Savage, and BIA, and the solo track, “Toxic.”
Earlier this year, YG spoke about the creative process for this album during an interview with Power 106. He revealed that the album will be introspective and show how he’s grown while he’s been in isolation throughout the pandemic.
“It’s just the growth of me, my headspace, what I’m on in life,” he said. “And I think the whole COVID pandemic sh*t, I hated it, but I also look at it as like this sh*t kinda helped me get to where I’m at mentally.”
Also during the interview, YG said his new music is reflective of where he is at this moment in time. “The music is just gonna be my truth, as far as my life right now.”

I Got Issues is out 9/30 via Def Jam. The album will be available to pre-save and pre-order on 9/9.
