Kanye West Files Trademark For “YZY Sock Shoes”

Ye, formerly Kayne West, has lost a lot of his mainstream appeal in recent months. His anti-Semitic tirade on Twitter cost him a lot of fans, as well as his incredibly lucrative partnership with Addidas. Despite claiming he wanted to step away from the spotlight, the musician is still finding ways to generate controversy. This comes alongside news that Ye is still co-parenting his children alongside his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.

In terms of controversy, much of it revolves around his various fashion lines. The Yeezy Season 10 fashion show had several elements that commentators noted were linked to Nazism and white supremacy. Furthermore, he just also recently ordered to pay $300k in the lawsuit surrounding YZY SHADZ. Safe to say the fashion side of things isn’t going great. But in the midst of all this, and his Presidential run, Ye is somehow still innovating.

Ye Files Sock Shoe Trademark

According to TMZ, Ye’s Mascotte Holdings Inc. submitted a trademark for “YZY SOCK SHOES”. The identifying information provides the additional description of “Socks; socks with leather soles.” This is not actually a new idea from Ye, who was seen wearing a similar product in 2019. However, little more than the trademark submission and the document identifier exist at this time. Ye and YZY are yet to make a public announcement about the upcoming project.

As for who might sell the Sock Shoes, if they ever hit the market. Addidas is out for obvious reasons. Meanwhile, other major companies and retailers will likely avoid working with Ye if possible. While he could sell them directly through the Yeezy brand, it’s unclear how much operational capacity the company still retains. However, Ye is set to make some money the coming months. It was reported that Addidas will sell off the remaining stock of Yeezys, which is valued at over $1 billion. Ye will make 15% of that sale per his contract with Addidas. How do you feel about sock shoes? Let us know in the comments.

Ye and Yeezy Brand Ordered to Pay Freelancer $300K Over Unpaid Wages

Ye and his Yeezy Brand will have to open their wallets and pay a freelancer $300,000. A Brooklyn artist was hired to direct a photo shoot for the brand’s sunglasses creatively but was never paid.

According to Hypebeast, freelancer Katelyn Mooney sued the former billionaire and his brand for the awarded amount in December 2022, citing unpaid invoices and additional damages. Mooney stated she was originally supposed to be paid $110,000 for her work but only received $15,000. There wasn’t a contract in place, instead, text messages and invoices to the brand.

Mooney stated that Ye not paying, she was forced to max her credit cards and take out loans to take care of the costs of the shoots and her personal expenses.

Adidas Facing Lawsuit Over Kanye West Partnership

Ye’s anti-semitic meltdown was one of the biggest stories of 2022. The debacle began when the musician, formerly known as Kanye West, wore a “White Lives Matter” shirt in Paris. “White Lives Matter” is a slogan heavily associated with white supremacist groups and other far-right entities. Ye then doubled down, posting screenshots of a conversation with Puff Daddy. The texts show Ye saying “Ima use you as an example to show the Jewish people that told you to call me that no one can threaten or influence me.”

Two days later, on October 9, Ye’s anti-semitic remarks became even more blatant. The rapper took to Twitter to declare “I’m going death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE. You guys have toyed with me and tried to blackball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.” He was then interviewed by former Fox host Tucker Carlson, where Ye said “I prefer my kids knew Hanukkah than Kwanzaa. At least it will come with some financial engineering.” This finally led to sportswear company Adidas cutting ties with Ye. Adidas had collaborated with Ye on the Yeezys shoe line since 2013. The final straw appeared to be a public declaration by Ye that he could be publicly anti-semitic without facing consequences from Adidas.

Shareholders Allege Financial Damage From Not Dropping Ye

Adidas is reportedly set to lose around $1.3 billion from unsold Yeezys inventory. That is just one of the reasons that they are now facing a class action lawsuit from their investors. Shareholders have alleged that the company’s refusal to cut ties with Ye, as well as their inability to financially weather their eventual decision to drop him, is starting to hurt their portfolios.

However, that’s not all the suit alleges. In addition to the financial impact, investors are claiming that senior Adidas executives knew about Ye’s anti-semitic beliefs. The suit alleges that this information was kept from the public view to mitigate its financial impact. Furthermore, the suit alleges that this course of action led to the artificial inflation of Adidas’ share price. Moreover, hiding Ye’s behavior and thus inflating the share price worsened the financial impact when the stock later tanked. Adidas is yet to publicly respond to the lawsuit.

Logic Referred To Kanye West As A ‘F*cking Moron’ In His New Video Ranting About The Internet

In the last few years, Ye, better known as Kanye West, has been called every name in the book. Now, rapper Logic is deciding to chime in. Why now? Apparently, at one point, the rapper decided to sit out from the conversation around Ye’s recent actions supposedly in hopes of working with him one day, but in his eyes, that’s out of the question now.

In a new vlog uploaded to Logic’s YouTube channel, the “Shimmy” rapper goes into a rant about the internet, public perception, and more Ye somehow takes centerstage. Earlier in the video, Logic indirectly referred to the producer to somehow emphasize that he himself has been unfairly treated by users online.

“It’s kinda dope to realize the more people talking about me, positive or negative, makes me more rich,” said Logic adding, “Only I’m not like evil, so I’m not out here spewing bullsh*t out of my mouth or wearing White Lives Matter t-shirts or some dumb sh*t like that. F*cking moron.”

Despite the harsh declaration, Logic wants it to be clear that he doesn’t have any personal issues with the musicians. “Love Kanye by the way, [just a] stupid f*cking idea,” said Logic.

The rapper closed out by saying, “Let me preface that. I love Kanye West. I think he’s a genius. I wouldn’t be here without him. I can have a f*cking opinion, and as long as my opinion is respectful and from the heart, then it is what it is.”

Isn’t it ironic that, at this moment, Logic’s opinions should be honored? However, when Ice Cube fans bashed him over his “Good Day” cover, he proclaimed, “Who gives a f*ck?

Ye & Bianca Censori Attend North West’s Basketball Game, Kim Kardashian Also There

The co-parenting life certainly isn’t easy. Still, it’s the route many end up taking when their relationships crumble after having children. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, who share four young kids, have learned a lesson or two in this department since their divorce. Thankfully, they seem to be doing much better now than they were this time last year. The exes obviously aren’t besties. Nevertheless, they’re civil enough to respect one another’s boundaries – and sit in the same gym during their eldest daughter, North West’s basketball game.

As TMZ reports, the celebs were both in attendance at the TikTok star’s face-off earlier this weekend. The Life of Pablo rapper brought along his new wife, Bianca Censori. They apparently only stayed for a brief moment before making their exit in Ye’s SUV. Kardashian, on the other hand, showed up in some cool athleisure and stuck around for the entire game. Photographers captured plenty of photos and videos of the mother of four as she left the building. Kim mostly stayed quiet as the cameras flashed at her and her daughter. Ever the jokester, the 9-year-old made a quip about the obnoxious lights as she and her friends hopped into a car waiting for them.

Ye & Kim Kardashian Continue to Co-Parent

His oldest child’s basketball game isn’t the only event West and Censori have been spotted at as of late. On Wednesday (April 19), Fear Of God hosted a runway show. The couple attended in lowkey (but still provocative) outfits. Ye was also seen turning up to a Pusha T track at the function shortly after deleting his embattled Instagram account.

While her ex-husband clearly wants to keep things lowkey lately, Kim Kardashian has been in the spotlight consistently. Last week she caught our eye with her Uma Thurman in Kill Bill-inspired outfit. Of course, there was also the news that she’s ready to begin dating again. It’s previously been said that the 42-year-old is hoping to find a partner outside of the Hollywood circle, preferably a man who works in finance. Who do you think would be a perfect fit for the socialite? Let us know below, and check back later for more pop culture news.

Drake Fans Think He’s Trolling Kanye West With “Search & Rescue” Cover

We thought that the long-standing feud between Drake and Kanye West ended when they joined forces for the Free Larry Hoover benefit concert. Though the two were all smiles, walking down the Los Angeles Coliseum together, it seems to be all show. The Take Care rapper seemingly took shots at Ye on Her Loss record, “Circo Loco,” where he suggested that he only patched things up with the Chicago rapper because of J Prince. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the only shot he took at Ye recently.

Last week, The Boy debuted his single, “Search & Rescue” which earned praise from his fans, though there was also a bit of controversy that followed. During the song, he samples a conversation between Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner discussing the SKIMS founder’s divorce from Kanye West. That alone left fans with the impression that Drizzy was trolling his nemesis, though Dennis Graham, the Canadian rapper’s dad, insisted that wasn’t the case. “Drake is not trolling anyone, it’s just a song. Why try and create a Kanye and Drake beef again?” Graham wrote.

Is Kim Kardashian On Drake’s “Search & Rescue” Artwork?

Something seemed familiar when Drizzy shared the artwork for “Search & Rescue.” The cover art includes a photo of the rapper and a woman wearing motorcycle helmets. However, the individual that isn’t Drake bore similarities to Kim Kardashian. A few days after the song debuted on OVO Sound, Kim shared a selfie of herself in the helmet, and many felt that the cover art references the photo.

So far, Kim Kardashian, Kanye nor Drake have commented on the controversy surrounding the single. However, it seems like it could be referenced in the next season of The Kardashians if anything. Still, Kanye previously said that he has no intentions of pursuing the feud any further. After appearing on podcasts and interviews praising the Toronto rapper, he said that he wasn’t going to breed any more issues. Will “Search & Rescue” change that? Who knows but people are certainly losing their minds over the cover art. Check a few reactions below and let us know your thoughts on Drake’s latest single in the comments.
