Black Thought Says He is No Longer Connected to Ye’s Music: ‘His Process Has Become More Assembly-Line’

fugees the roots black thoought

Black Thought pulled up to Pitchfork for a new interview, revealing that he has grown detached from Kanye West’s music.

“I connect with Kanye’s music less now,” Black Thought tells Pitchfork. “Maybe it’s because of the rate at which he’s been putting out art and having to keep up. I think his process has become more assembly-line, which in many ways is the Motown model. It works. I don’t know if anything’s lost, but what is sometimes compromised is the personality. The main person it’s supposed to be about is sometimes overshadowed by all these other writers, producers, and people who are contributing. Kanye is less Kanye now than he was when I was a bigger Kanye fan.”

You can read more from Black Thought, including his thoughts on A$AP Rocky’s LongLiveA$AP album and his friendship with Tierra Whack below.

Bianca Censori Reportedly Grossed Out By Kanye West’s “Stench”

Bianca Censori and Kanye West have been together for a while now. The two are technically married, even if the whole ceremony wasn’t official. Overall, they are quite the power couple. Despite Ye’s missteps over the last year or so, Censori has stood by his side. Moreover, she seems to be helping him when it comes to the rebuilding of his Yeezy brand. In many ways, he has to start from scratch. However, with Censori by his side, he definitely has the support to reboot his empire.

Recently, the two have been in Italy and they have been showing off some unique outfits. Of course, West was in Italy to support Travis Scott during his Circus Maximus show. That said, a new report from Radar Online suggests that this trip is bringing to light an ongoing issue in Ye and Censori’s relationship. A source is claiming that Bianca Censori is being turned off by Kanye’s smell. He has reportedly stopped showering on a frequent basis, and also doesn’t wear deodorant.

“He wears these outfits partly because he genuinely believes they showcase his fashion genius and forward-thinking. But it’s also to cover him having gained a little weight,” a source claimed. “It’s a serious stench when the layers come off and he’s dripping in sweat head to toe — especially as he’s not big on showering — and poor Bianca’s nostrils are on the receiving end. He’s got to be cooking under those layers. His BO is something awful since he rarely uses deodorant.”

Overall, these are some wild claims and it is hard to know their validity without actually being around Ye. That said, we hope Ye takes care of himself and doesn’t let the alleged issue get out of hand. Let us know what you think of all this, in the comments section below. Foot Locker Rumored to Launch Sale of Yeezys in August

adidas yeezy boost v black

Adidas is expanding the availability of Yeezy sneakers into Foot Locker. Sneaker News revealed the sneakers will return to the iconic sneaker chain, and additional sneaker boutiques will carry the line.

Sneaker News notes Foot Locker has not confirmed the eventual sale but cites sources across social media that the sneakers would soon be available.

Additionally, Footwear News reports a company-wide email was sent out after Ye’s initial dismissal. “[Our company does] not tolerate any form of antisemitism or hateful and discriminatory behavior. While we remain a partner with adidas and carry a wide assortment of their collections — we will not be supporting any future Yeezy product drops, and we have instructed our retail operators to pull any existing product from our shelves and digital sites.”

A return to shelves and websites would be a drastic shift from that messaging. The sneakers are believed to launch at Foot Locker in August.

Kim Kardashian Sobs Amid Kanye’s Anti-Semitic Ramblings In New “Kardashians” Clip

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were together for a significant amount of time. However, their marriage eventually took a turn for a whole host of reasons. Eventually, they got a divorce which ended up getting pretty messy. Now, Kim K is enjoying time with her new mystery man, all while Ye is married to Bianca Censori. That said, their newfound love lives do not necessarily mean these two don’t affect one another. Overall, Ye’s actions still can weigh heavily on Kardashian, depending on what it is he’s doing.

Just a few months ago, Kanye was going on an unhinged anti-semitic crusade that had lots of people questioning his sanity. He made appearances on Alex Jones and various other podcasts. Moreover, he even claimed to love Nazis. It was all very bizarre, and no one was particularly happy about it. Of course, this has a profound effect on Kim, who had to watch all of this from afar. In a new preview for The Kardashians, you can see how much this weighed on her.

Kanye West Is Now Facing An Assault Lawsuit Over An Alleged Phone-Throwing Incident With A Photographer

Earlier this year, a video surfaced in which Kanye West told a person to stop filming him. They refused, so West took their phone and threw it. There was a police investigation over the incident, which ended with the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office saying that West wouldn’t face any charges. The story didn’t end there, though, as West is now being sued.

As Billboard reports, photographer Nichol Lechmanik has filed a lawsuit against West, accusing the rapper of assault, battery, negligence, and interference with the exercise of her civil rights. The complaint was filed in California Superior Court in Ventura County on May 31. In the suit, Lechmanik claims the incident caused her “great mental and emotional pain and suffering” and that she “anticipates incurring medical and related expenses.”

The suit says that Lechmanik was driving her car and filming Kim Kardashian as she exited Sports Academy in Newbury Park, California. At the time, she noticed West was “angrily confronting” a photographer on the street. The complaint noted, “Given Defendant Ye’s reputation for violence against photographers, his history of physically harming them, and based on his threatening body language, Plaintiff became fearful for the photographer’s safety.”

Then, West apparently approached Lechmanik’s car and “aggressively” said, “You all ain’t gonna run up on me like that.” When Lechmanik denied she was, West allegedly became “enraged,” “ripped her phone out of her hands,” and threw it “onto the street towards oncoming traffic.”

Lechmanik is requesting general and special damages, punitive and exemplary damages, civil penalties, and costs of the suit. She also wants an order enjoining West and “all persons acting in concert with him or acting on his behalf, from touching, striking, annoying, contacting, molesting, attacking, threatening, or otherwise interfering with […] the Plaintiff, and all persons similarly situated, to pursue the occupation of photographer.”

Adidas Is Back To Selling Kanye West’s Yeezy Shoes Months After They Ended Their Partnership With Him

Last October, Adidas ended its partnership with Kanye West, who legally changed his name to Ye, in response to several anti-Semitic comments he’d made. CNBC reported in February — and the likes of the Associated Press and Rolling Stone reported again at the beginning of May — that the abruptly severed relationship left Adidas with $1.3 billion in unsold Yeezy product. On May 11, Adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden revealed the company’s plan to salvage what can be salvaged.

“What we are trying to do now over time is sell parts of this inventory and donate money to the organizations that are helping us and that were also hurt by Kanye’s statements,” Gulden told investors, as relayed by Complex at the time.

That plan came to fruition today, May 31. Adidas’ official website is headlined by Yeezy, advertising that “some of the remaining inventory” of his products are available on the brand’s app, Confirmed, and promising that a “portion from the sale of these items will be donated in support of the fight against discrimination, hate, racism, and antisemitism.”

An accompanying press release details that the benefiting organizations include the Anti-Defamation League and the Philonise & Keeta Floyd Institute for Social Change.

“The release will mark the first time that products have been available to consumers since adidas terminated the Yeezy partnership in October 2022,” the press release explains. “The products will be existing designs and designs initiated in 2022 for sale in 2023. Additional releases of existing inventory are currently under consideration, but timing is yet to be determined. Today’s announcement has no immediate impact on the company’s current financial guidance for 2023.”

“After careful consideration, we have decided to begin releasing some of the remaining Adidas Yeezy products,” Gulden said in a statement. “Selling and donating was the preferred option among all organizations and stakeholders we spoke to. We believe this is the best solution as it respects the created designs and produced shoes, it works for our people, resolves an inventory problem, and will have a positive impact in our communities. There is no place in sport or society for hate of any kind and we remain committed to fighting against it.”

The May 31 Yeezy drop comes one day after Billboard reported that Adidas’ request for an emergency order re-freezing of the $75 million held by Yeezy was denied by a federal judge.

Nick Cannon Says Kanye West Is In “Desperate Need Of Help”

The downfall of Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has been a darkly fascinating spectacle. A controversial figure for years, Ye’s problematic views came to the forefront in 2022. The iconic rapper went on a Twitter rampage in which he spewed a number of anti-semitic conspiracies and sentiments. The biggest consequence of this was the breakdown of the long-term partnership between Ye and Adidas.

In the subsequent months, Ye has doubled down on many of his views. His recent fashion show included several references to white supremacy and he has vehemently refused to walk back his comments from last year. Now, Nick Cannon has shared his efforts to help Ye see the error of his ways.

Nick Cannon Speaks Out On Ye

“Kanye is saying some wild s—, and I don’t know if he really believes it,” Cannon continues. “I tried to talk to him and tried to put him with leaders in the Jewish community. I think it’s a lot more there. I just know he’s in desperate need of help and love and people to not abandon him,” Cannon told the LA Times in a recent interview. Cannon has had his own experiences of being “canceled” after he was fired by Viacom for racist and antisemitic comments on a podcast.

However, Cannon, unlike Ye, later apologized for his comments and spent time educating himself through conversations with Jewish leaders. In Cannon’s opinion, people should continue trying to get through to Ye instead of demonizing him. Furthermore, Cannon doesn’t want to see a reaction like Kyrie Iriving received from the Nets. “You’re going to hang me out in front of everybody and whip me in public — buck-breaking me so all the others know not to do this? That’s a bigger sin and travesty than someone saying something,” What do you think about Cannon’s comments? Let us know below. Follow all the latest music news here at HotNewHipHop.

Kanye West Files Trademark For “YZY Sock Shoes”

Ye, formerly Kayne West, has lost a lot of his mainstream appeal in recent months. His anti-Semitic tirade on Twitter cost him a lot of fans, as well as his incredibly lucrative partnership with Addidas. Despite claiming he wanted to step away from the spotlight, the musician is still finding ways to generate controversy. This comes alongside news that Ye is still co-parenting his children alongside his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.

In terms of controversy, much of it revolves around his various fashion lines. The Yeezy Season 10 fashion show had several elements that commentators noted were linked to Nazism and white supremacy. Furthermore, he just also recently ordered to pay $300k in the lawsuit surrounding YZY SHADZ. Safe to say the fashion side of things isn’t going great. But in the midst of all this, and his Presidential run, Ye is somehow still innovating.

Ye Files Sock Shoe Trademark

According to TMZ, Ye’s Mascotte Holdings Inc. submitted a trademark for “YZY SOCK SHOES”. The identifying information provides the additional description of “Socks; socks with leather soles.” This is not actually a new idea from Ye, who was seen wearing a similar product in 2019. However, little more than the trademark submission and the document identifier exist at this time. Ye and YZY are yet to make a public announcement about the upcoming project.

As for who might sell the Sock Shoes, if they ever hit the market. Addidas is out for obvious reasons. Meanwhile, other major companies and retailers will likely avoid working with Ye if possible. While he could sell them directly through the Yeezy brand, it’s unclear how much operational capacity the company still retains. However, Ye is set to make some money the coming months. It was reported that Addidas will sell off the remaining stock of Yeezys, which is valued at over $1 billion. Ye will make 15% of that sale per his contract with Addidas. How do you feel about sock shoes? Let us know in the comments.
