Lionel Messi Breaks Record For Most Liked Instagram Post

Lionel Messi is feeling pretty good these days after he and his Argentinian teammates won the World Cup on Sunday. They took the game by a score of 4-3 on penalty kicks against France. Overall, it was the greatest final in the history of sports, and fans are still processing what they watched.

If you are a Messi fan, this win has been fantastic as it pretty well solidifies Messi as the GOAT when compared to Cristiano Ronaldo. Furthermore, the win makes it so that Messi has nothing left to prove. Now, he can enjoy the rest of his career, especially as he takes his talents to South Beach.

Following his big win, Messi took to Instagram to celebrate. After a couple of days, the post reached a whopping 62 million likes. Consequently, he now has the most-liked Instagram post of all time. This surpasses the infamous egg which had 56 million likes.

“CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD!!!!!!!” Messi wrote in the post. “So many times I dreamed it, so much I wanted it that I still don’t fall, I can’t believe it…… Thank you so much to my family, to all who support me and also to all who believed in us. We prove once again that Argentinians when we fight together and united we are able to achieve what we aim.

“The merit is of this group, which is above individuals, is the strength of all fighting for the same dream that was also the one of all Argentinians… We did it!!! LET’S GO ARGENTINA DAMN!!!!!”

Messi has never cared much for social media, so he probably won’t celebrate the record anytime soon. Regardless, this is a pretty cool achievement that speaks to how big this moment was for him.

Salt Bae Roasted For Clout-Chasing At The World Cup

Salt Bae gained prominence just a few years ago thanks to the viral clip of him sprinkling salt on some steak. His real name is Nusret Goekce, and his fame has skyrocketed since the viral moment. Overall, he is someone who has benefitted greatly from social media. Additionally, his restaurant has become a hot spot for those who want an exceptionally expensive meal.

As it turns out, Salt Bae was at the World Cup on Sunday where Argentina played France in the Final. Of course, by now you all know that Argentina took the win by a score of 4-3 in penalty kicks. Following this win, Salt Bae showed up on the field where he took numerous photos with the World Cup trophy.

Fans Have Had Enough Of Salt Bae

In numerous videos posted to social media, it became clear that Salt Bae was overstaying his welcome on the pitch. He was pestering numerous players for photos, all while touching and kissing the trophy, which is against FIFA rules. Additionally, players like Lionel Messi seemingly wanted nothing to do with him.

As for fans on Twitter, the reception towards Salt Bae was very much the same. Many seem to think that his fame and success are completely undeserved. Furthermore, others found his insistence on getting a photo to be disrespectful.

“Salt Bae pestering Messi has to be the perfect symbol for all the awful off-field shit hovering around and poisoning anything good about this World Cup. Dismal little character,” one Twitter user wrote. “Who slaps a world cup trophy like it’s a piece of meat? Weirdo!” another said.

Stephen A. Reacts

On today’s episode of First Take, Smith got to speak on the World Cup Final, and just how amazing it was to witness. Typically, Smith isn’t much of a soccer fan. His interests skew towards sports like basketball, football, and occasionally baseball and boxing. However, he couldn’t help but praise the most recent display of soccer excellence.

In the clip below, Smith breaks down how this World Cup was special because it had two superstars going at it. Lionel Messi scored two goals to lead his team to a victory, while Kylian Mbappe scored a hat trick, despite the loss. Stephen A. felt like it was this superstar vs. superstar showdown that made the game so compelling.

Overall, it is very hard to argue with this assessment. When the best players give their best effort, more people are going to watch. No to mention, Mbappe and Messi are teammates at Paris Saint-Germain which made the game that much more fun.

Drake Wins $1 Million Bet On Argentina Beating France In World Cup

Argentina defeated France in the FIFA World Cup today, and Drake won big as a result. It was a nail-biting game between the two soccer titans, going to extra time and a shootout. While France’s powerhouse Kylian Mbappé scored thrice, Argentina’s superstar Lionel Messi scored two of their seven total goals to secure the win. The Canadian artist bet $1 million on the Latin American country’s victory, and casino streamer Roshtein matched it for France.

“@roshtein my bet is in for tmrw @stake,” Drake wrote via Instagram on a screenshot of his bet. While both bet a million, Drake’s payout was $2,750,000, while Roshtein’s (real name Ishmale Schwartz) was $100,000 more. When Schwartz posted his bet, he wrote “Oui monsieur @champagnepapi vive la France @stake.”

While this ended up going great for the 6 God, many thought that he infected Argentina with the “Drake curse.” Moreover, he built a reputation for associating with teams that end up losing, even though there are always exceptions. However, it’s not hard to see why it’s become a thing. In October, Drake bet on FC Barcelona to beat Real Madrid, which was unsuccessful. The team even wore a special jersey as part of their Spotify partnership that featured the OVO owl.

After Drizzy posed with Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero for a picture, they lost the Champions League. In other sports, the trend also lines up. The Clemson Tigers won the 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship, yet Drake wore an Alabama hoodie before the match. Also, there’s the case of once-undefeated boxer Anthony Joshua. He lost for the first time in his professional career against Andy Ruiz Jr. in June of 2019 after getting the Toronto rapper’s support.

What we know for sure is that Drake will keep winning. He announced recently that he’ll be going on tour next year, which is sure to get fans ecstatic.

What do you think of the World Cup and Drake’s bet? Did you put up money for your team and how did that turn out? Let us know in the comments down below. Also, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest in sports, music, high risks, and the highest rewards.

Drake Bet On Argentina For The World Cup Final, Which Has Fans On Edge

Ahead of tomorrow’s World Cup final, Drake has let it be known that he is betting on Argentina to win the closing game against France. Depending on who you’re rooting for, this could be a good thing or a bad thing.

See, Drake doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to making bets or expressing fandom to certain athletes or teams. While he is known to make allusions to professional sports and athletes in his songs, as well as share photos of himself wearing team jerseys. However, his outward support has not always worked out in his favor.

Some examples of teams and athletes who have fallen victim to the “Drake curse” include Conor McGregor, who lost his fight in a fourth-round submission to Russian fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov, after McGregor shared a picture with the rapper in 2018. Just months later, Drake shared a video of him working out while wearing a University Of Alabama hoodie in support of their college football team. Just a week later, the Roll Tide would lose 44-16 to the Clemson Tigers.

Needless to say, Argentina fans are on edge.

Check out some of the hilarious fan reactions above.

The World Cup Final takes place tomorrow at 10 a.m. EST. You can stream the game on Peacock.
