Wizkid’s Vibrant ‘Bad To Me’ Is His First Solo Single Of 2022

It’s hard to believe that Wizkid hadn’t put out any new solo tracks in 2022 until now. Instead, the “Essence” singer has been dropping videos for the songs off of his 2020 album Made In Lagos. There have been clips for tracks in “True Love” featuring Winnie Harlow and “Mood” featuring Buju, which have stretched the cycle of the immensely popular Made In Lagos and its subsequent deluxe edition which featured appearances from Burna Boy, HER, Justin Bieber, Tems, and others. But now, we may finally be getting a taste of what comes next for the Nigerian superstar with the release of the brand new single, “Bad To Me.”

Opening with a stretched-out West African guitar and dance floor-ready drum pattern, “Bad To Me” is instantly vibrant. The transportive track features clean production from P2J and it’s a welcome addition to the budding Wizkid canon.

“Bad To Me” comes out just in time for Whizkid’s headlining performance at the Rolling Loud Toronto festival this weekend, where he’ll be joined atop the bill by Future and Dave. From there, he’ll be headlining the brand new Lost In Riddim festival in Northern California, which has a distinct afrobeats focus and also features Burna Boy, Davido, and Sean Paul.

Kanye West Shares His Favorite Songs, Including The ‘Best Song In The History Of Music To Date’

Kanye West has been active on social media over the past few days, but today, instead of calling out Gap and Adidas, or sharing personal conversations between his ex-wife and her mother, he took some time to share some of his favorite songs.

The Grammy Award-winning rapper and producer has collaborated with several artists throughout his two-decade career, from up-and-comers to established heavy-hitters. Though he may be one of the most polarizing figures of our time, he certainly has a great ear when it comes to music.

Oh his Instagram today, he posted a screenshot of a music player playing “Church Girl” from Beyoncé’s seventh studio album, Renaissance. He captioned the post, saying “Favorite song on Beyoncé album.”

In the next post, he shared the title track from DJ Khaled’s 13th album, God Did, which features Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, and a four-minute verse from Jay-Z. In the post’s caption, he deemed the song, “Song of the year next to Wait For You,” presumably referring to Future and Drake’s collaboration, “Wait For U.”

In the following post, he shared “Essence” by Wizkid and Tems, which he deemed the “Best song in the history of music to date.”

Closing out the series of posts, he shared “Fortunate,” a collaboration with The Game from his most recent album, Drillmatic: Heart Vs. Mind.

“Need to shoot a video,” he said in the post’s caption. “Me [and] game have never missed like literally have never missed. Just like me and Pusha.”

Ye’s ear for music drives him toward perfection. In a recent interview, producer Mike Dean revealed West scrapped an album’s worth of material while working on Ye in 2018.

Soulja Boy Responds To 12-Year Old Diss From Wizkid

rap beefs

Despite his hit single “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” coming out 15 years ago, Soulja Boy has always been able to keep himself relevant. Whether it’s through his classic interviews, becoming a meme, or even creating his own game console Soulja will always keep himself a trending topic. Another way in which he’s kept himself relevant is by beefing with other artists.

Over the span of his nearly two-decade-long career, Souja has beefed with Lil Yachty, Key Glock, Bow Wow, Chris Brown, and even Kanye West. Now you can add Wizkid to that list, and not even for anything that was said recently.

A tweet from Wizkid where he called the “Rick and Morty” rapper “wack” recently resurfaced. However, Wizkid tweeted the diss toward Soulja in 2010, years before he would be the international star we know today. “I swear soulja boy is wack!..jeeeezzzzz!” Wizkid tweeted 12 years ago.

It is unsure how the tweet made its way onto Soulja’s feed, but he would go on to respond to the tweet, despite it being over a decade old. “Ya mama Wack. Shut ya bitch ass up,” Soulja responded.
