Wendy Williams Reportedly In Treatment Facility For “Cognitive Issues”

Wendy Williams has reportedly been in a treatment facility for “cognitive issues” since April 2023, her family has claimed. Additionally, her family has stated that due to a state-mandated conservatorship, it is difficult for them to see the TV icon. “The people who love her cannot see her…I think the big [question] is: How the hell did we get here?” Williams’ sister Wanda said. It is unclear if the move to a treatment facility is part of the family move to Florida that reportedly occurred sometime last year.

This comes amid the impending release of a controversial Lifetime documentary, Where Is Wendy Williams? Airing later this week, Wanda claims the documentary was originally meant to follow Williams’ triumphant return to television. However, things quickly changed course and the documentary is now expected to give a much more sobering look at Williams’ current state.

Wendy Williams Relocates To Florida

Furthermore, the news of the documentary comes around a week after news broke concerning Williams’ current location. Radio host and Williams’ long-time friend Miss Jones claimed that Williams had quietly relocated to Florida with her family “several months ago”. Jones revealed that she had attempted a wellness check on Williams, only to be told by employees at Williams’ former building that she was “several months too late”. The moved reportedly coincided with revelations about Williams’ health, as well as the fact that her family were concerned that her team was “taking advantage” of her. Williams’ son claimed that her team were making decisions on the media veteran’s behalf and had even frozen Williams out of her bank accounts.

Responding to the news, many fans offered their well-wishes to Williams. “I’m not wishing anything on anyone. I’m a believer in God, and I believe God can heal Wendy, and restore her. I pray the will of God for her, and I pray for those who surround her as well,” one person said. “Anyone who grew up in NYC listening to Wendy knows that this is truly sad. Kevin destroyed her. I don’t ever see her coming back to broadcasting. So so sad,” added another.

News about former daytime TV mainstay Wendy Williams has been hard to come by recently. Now according to The Jasmine Brand Williams is trying to reclaim her fortune by opening a secret bank account. “a source close to Wendy Williams, 59, says the media personality has secretly opened up a new bank account to redirect any money she earns moving forward away from Wells Fargo.” Her bank accounts were reportedly frozen at some point last year due to “alleged financial struggles.”

They go on to explain how Wendy Williams found herself in the situation of needing a secret bank account. “Williams’ financial adviser told Wells Fargo she was of “unsound mind,” resulting in the entertainer getting placed under guardianship. The insider also noted that Williams doesn’t know how to use the new bank account.” The Insider also elaborated on the difficulties she’s had putting money into the new account. “but she doesn’t know her account number and refuses to accept checks. It’s a mess!”

Wendy Williams Has A Secret Bank Account

Last year, Williams attorney explained how Wells Fargo was able to seize control of her bank account. “Basically, what Wells Fargo is using is a rule that was promulgated by an organization called FINRA and under that rule, it grants Wells Fargo the right to suspend a transaction in the event they deem that the transaction is of suspicious nature.”

Back in June, Williams son claimed that he feared for her life and wasn’t getting accurate information on her condition. Following that public declaration her manager fired back at her son refuting some of his claims. When Williams was put into a conservatorship last year and lost access to her bank accounts, much of the support her son had been receiving dried up. Updates on Williams from both parties have been far less frequent in the past few months. Wendy Williams’s Son Says He Fears For Her Life

Wendy Williams’s son Kevin Hunter Jr says that her mental and physical health is declining while she’s under guardianship. In an interview with The Sun, Hunter told his side of the story and shed some light on the events of recent months. He accuses various members of her inner circle of taking advantage of her wealth while she battles addiction. Since Williams was put under guardianship last year numerous reports have come out about her declining health.

Among his complaints is a major lack of communication with what’s going on in Wendy Williams’ life. The last time Hunter heard from his mother’s manager was when she was hospitalized last month. Since then, he says he hasn’t been updated on news of her mother’s release at all. He also wasn’t updated when Williams’ was reportedly moved out of New York. Later on in the interview Hunter even goes as far as to say that he fears for her life.

When the subject of his mother’s alcoholism came up, Hunter expressed further concerns. “I know the rate that she uses alcohol isn’t like a normal person- and we’ve spoken about it — and it’s gotten to a point where yes, it could have that effect that it might be fatal because it affects her way worse than a normal person since it stays in her system,” he says. He goes on to clarify that “it could have that effect that it might be fatal.”

Wendy Williams has reportedly been trying to progress her career in recent months. Back in April, she was seen filming at her childhood home for a forthcoming reality show. Just a few weeks ago it came to light that Williams tried to join the cast of The Real Housewives Of New York. Kevin says that his mother should “take a break from trying to progress her career and just be proud of what she’s accomplished.” The situation has already drawn comparisons to the conservatorship of Britney Spears that inspired the #FreeBritney movement. [WATCH] Wendy Williams Ex-Husband Loses Battle For Alimony

Following the fight of her life last year, former daytime talk show legend Wendy Williams was sued by her ex-husband Kevin Hunter who wanted more of his ex-wife’s money. Hunter filed a lawsuit demanding Wendy continue paying alimony despite her being unemployed and not in 100% control of her hard earned funds.

After obtaining new legal counsel to go after Wendy’s money, the judge just ruled in Wendy’s favor.

The Sun reports:

Wendy Williams’ divorce judge has shut down her ex Kevin Hunter’s demand for the host to continue making alimony payments.

According to court documents exclusively obtained by The U.S. Sun, the judge claimed Wendy’s financial guardian will not have to resume cutting his alimony checks.

The judge found that Kevin’s request was “not emergent” and ordered his “application to be dismissed without prejudice.”

The judge also denied Kevin’s request for attorney fees to be paid by Wendy.

Kevin’s fight for Wendy’s payments is not completely over, however.

The judge said while they don’t consider his demand for alimony payments an emergency, he can still take his case to mediation.

“The parties are to participate in binding arbitration,” the judge said.

“The issues surrounding the severance payments, and the QDRO [Qualified Domestic Relations Order] are disputed and therefore need to be mediated.”
