Pharrell Williams Stuns Everyone With New Album “Black Yacht Rock Vol. 1”

What a day for hip-hop. We now have not one, but two surprise albums from some of the best in the business. Legendary producer, singer, and rapper Pharrell Williams has just come through with Black Yacht Rock Vol. 1. That is the hyphenated title for this project, or at least one of the three names you can call it. It is also being referred to as Virginia, Black Yacht Rock, or City of Limitless Access.

This is the Virginia native’s first solo album since 2014’s G I R L and it may be coming before a separate project. He has been dropping some singles such as “Cash In Cash Out,” “Down In Atlanta,” and “Airplane Tickets.” Time will tell when all of those tracks culminate into a full listening experience. Ice Spice Debuts Retro Website, Fans Think Album Announcement Is Coming

Ice Spice has debuted an early 2000s-themed design for her official website. As a result, fans are now eagerly expecting news about Spice’s upcoming debut album, Y2K!. The line of logic is that Y2K as a concept is rooted in the year 2000 and that is the internet era that Spice has thrown back to with her website redesign. However, at the time of writing, the website redesign is the only hint that news about the album is coming.

Spice confirmed the album at the end of January while appearing on The Today Show. However, she did not specify a date and instead simply said that the album would be out “this year”. Spice was “born on Y2K” (New Year’s Day, 2000). Furthermore, Spice confirmed there would be plenty of collabs on the album, including one that she called “crazy” at the time of the interview. Meanwhile, the Barbz were out for blood as Nicki Minaj opened her Pink Friday 2 tour in Oakland. Members of the audience heard chanting “F-ck Latto” at several points. The animosity towards Latto likely stems from her beef with Spice, who is considered a Minaj “ally” after several collabs between the two. Furthermore, Latto is considered a Cardi B “ally” after the pair collaborated on “Put It On Da Floor Again” last year.

Latto and Spice have been trading blows for the last few weeks. Spice released the diss track “Think You The Sh-t (Fart)” before going after Latto for using her music video footage in a TikTok. Meanwhile, Latto hit back with “Sunday Service” and also referred to Spice as a “little girl” in a clapback post on social media. Monica is the only act officially listed as supporting the tour. However, maybe Minaj will bring out Spice when she hits up New York at the end of March.

Lil Nas X Launches New “Save Nas X” Website, Also Creates New Interactive Twitter Game

Lil Nas X is someone who is always looking to stir the pot up a bit. Overall, it has been a couple of years since we got an album from him. Of course, he came out with Montero which turned out to be a huge commercial success. He was able to prove that he is not a one-hit-wonder. However, he did create quite a bit of controversy thanks to his satanic imagery that had a lot of Christians upset. Since dropping that album, Nas X has mostly been quiet, but now, it seems as though he is in the midst of a return.

We say this because last night, it was discovered that the artist and Sony Music Entertainment launched a website called SaveNasX.com. On this website, there is a message as well as a timer that showcases how long it has been since the last album. “Has the DEVIL-WORSHIPPING pop-artist finally been sacrificed to HIS MASTER?,” the message reads. “WHY is he SECLUDING HIMSELF???? What is he PREPARING FOR? This site will answer ALL THESE QUESTIONS AND MORE!!!… We will find Montero, and WE WILL SAVE HIM BY RETURNING HIS HEART TO J.CHRIST’S LIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

In the Twitter post above, you can see that Nas X also launched a new Twitter account called @HeavenOrHellOnX. As the artist explains, this is an interactive game in which you play a poll and then eventually you get put in heaven or hell. Overall, it is a unique concept and quite a few people have participated already. This does make us wonder whether or not some new music is going to be dropping in the new year. It certainly would not surprise us given all of these recent moves. Hopefully, we find out sooner rather than later.

M.I.A. Drops Special Collaboration Tape Called “Bells Collection”

London-born multi-talent M.I.A. has been in the music industry for nearly 20 years if you can believe that. She is one of the more idiosyncratic artists of the past two decades. We have seen her collaborate with all sorts of artists from rappers to EDM producers and more. She does the same on her latest record.

She just came through with a very special collaborative effort for the holiday. According to Pitchfork, the tape is called Bells Collection. They also got a hold of the press release from M.I.A. Kodak Black In Federal Prison, Miami-Dade County Website Suggests

Kodak Black’s recent arrest for drug possession apparently landed him in federal prison, according to Miami-Dade County’s website. Moreover, NBC 6 reported that violated his probation terms as a result of this detainment, which has only further complicated this legal process. For those unaware, the rapper already faced a lot of charges in the past, multiple parole violations, and added antics that exacerbate the effects of previous arrests. As such, it is sadly unsurprising to hear that the court has not yet indicated when he will be able to leave, although his next hearing is scheduled for December 19. At least the Pompano Beach native was able to attend Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s Miami rave for their collab album Vultures earlier this week following bond.

Furthermore, the last update we got on Kodak Black’s legal case was his attorney Bradford Cohen clearing up the aforementioned drug bust. While many reports indicated that he had cocaine at the time, his lawyer denied these claims and said that it was Percocet, instead. This suggests that this will be a pretty contentious and conflictive legal battle if the “Roll In Peace” MC decides to fight for his side of the story in court. After all, this conflicts what the official arrest report read, so there are a couple of moving parts here which could prove to be misdirections.

In other news, Kodak Black denied messing with cocaine, admitted to lean use, and blasted people calling him a “junkie” during a recent Instagram Live session. “I was on the lean,” he expressed. “I was asleep in front of my family house. That’s it. That ain’t illegal. To be talking about cocaine? Hell no. F**k no. Bogus as f**k. [Percocet] was my medicine prescribed to me,” the 26-year-old shared before going into his rehab stint and his addiction habits.

Meanwhile, Yak has another baby on the way, which is at least a big sliver of joy amid a difficult time. Hopefully he’s able to clear up all these issues and get any help he wants before his life as a father takes another step. Kanye West Creates Yews Platform Ahead Of “Vultures” Release

Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign are gearing up to drop a brand-new project on Friday. This new album is called Vultures and overall, fans are a bit confused as to whether or not it will actually be released. For two decades now, Ye has had a history of delaying his releases. Oftentimes, he will host a listening party in which his project sounds unfinished. From there, he makes adjustments that can take quite a bit of time. Consequently, fans get frustrated and it leads to one giant and tired cycle.

On Monday night, Kanye West had his aforementioned listening party. It was a huge gathering of artists, with Kodak Black, Lil Baby, and even Freddie Gibbs in attendance. Furthermore, new songs were played, and while the reactions are not great, there were still quite a few fans paying attention. Now, it would appear as though Kanye has launched a website called Yews.News. This new platform boasts a name that he had previously filed a trademark for. Now, it is coming to fruition.

Based on pure sales projections, general fan reception, and all the support behind her, we’d argue that this has been a pretty satisfying release so far. However, given that the Trinidadian MC is always one to surprise and please her fans, then it should come as no surprise that she’s not done yet.

Moreover, Nicki Minaj just released a new remix of the album cut “Beep Beep” with none other than her fellow legendary Queens MC, 50 Cent, which they previously announced on social media. It’s available exclusively on her website for digital purchase, and hopefully it lands on streaming services soon– which is something that she’s already hinted at. Unfortunately for international fans, this version is currently only available to purchase for U.S. residents. Playboi Carti Updates Website Hinting At New Music

Playboi Carti fans have been waiting a long time for new music. His last studio album Whole Lotta Red dropped back in 2020. The rapper is often quite reclusive and doesn’t often make public announcements. Instead of the conventional methods of rolling out an album, many fans are expecting a surprise. Given that Carti is heading out on tour with his entire Opium label later this year, it stands to reason that he might release some new songs to play.

Now Playboi Carti is once again giving fans reasons to suspect new music is on the way. He made a simple update to his website, but one that has fans’ imaginations spinning. The addition of a “Music” tab on his site led many to believe that it will soon be filled with new material. Earlier this year he appeared on “Popular” alongside The Weeknd and Madonna. Hints about new Playboi Carti music haven’t been hard to come by recently. DJ Scheme released a short video that featured a snippet of new music from the rapper. In the video, he’s doing a “deep voice” on the song which he’s done often recently. That included his performance on Travis Scott’s “FE!N,” from his smash hit new album Utopia. The song itself has been a pretty big hit as well. It debuted at number 5 on the Hot 100 and has stuck around on the chart ever since landing at number 44 this week.

Last month, snippets leaked that featured even more of Carti deploying his deep voice. The song hit the internet through an unknown source but gave fans a taste of what the rapper could be cooking up for his new album. Drake Gives Away Free Tour Tickets With Website Scavenger Hunt

Overnight, fans visiting Drake’s website found themselves looking at a scavenger hunt. “Letters are hidden in every room in the house. Find all the letters and enter the word below,” some text on the website reads. It asked fans to travel around the various pages of the artist’s website looking for secret letters that assembled a code. It’s not the first time the “Search & Rescue” rapper had done something similar. The last time he set up a website exploration event it was to give fans the opportunity to win free tickets and that seems to be the case once again.

Fans online who managed to crack the code reported just that. According to a few Twitter users who managed to get in, the website gives you the opportunity to enter a drawing for tickets to Drake and 21 Savage’s “It’s All A Blur” tour. Including tonight’s show in Vancouver, the tour has 24 stops left on its remaining run. The tour wraps up in Columbus on October 9. While specific details on the giveaway haven’t emerged yet, it seems that some lucky fans who took part in the online search could be rewarded with the chance to see one of the shows.

Drake’s Website Gives Fans A Secret Code

While 21 Savage has served as the opener for much of the “It’s All A Blur” tour so far, a new face emerged for a recent show. During a trip to Vancouver for the tour, Savage couldn’t make the trip but his replacement by Travis Scott certainly didn’t leave fans disappointed.

Earlier this week Drake dropped some new merch that had fans excited. The merch features references to his new album For All The Dogs. After teasing the project all summer many believe it could be arriving soon. Last week, the rapper shared the album art to social media.
