Saweetie Addresses Viral Teleprompter Mishap

Saweetie’s been the unfortunate victim of some clowning online recently, following her role as a presenter at the 2023 VMAs. Social media users were quick to call her out for stuttering during the pre-show, turning the mishap into a meme. Luckily, the “ICY GRL” performer doesn’t appear to have let the criticism faze her, as evidenced by a new clip posted to Twitter/X by BET. In the clip, she appears onstage shortly after the viral stutter, calling out users for making a big deal about it online. “Hey, what’s up, y’all? It’s me again,” she says. “And y’all better stop making my little stutter video go viral. I see what you’re doin’. Anyways, let’s try it again!”

Sadly, Saweetie’s presentation skills weren’t the only thing fans weren’t impressed with. Social media users had a lot to say about her sparkly pink bone dress, and many weren’t feeling it. Regardless, the hitmaker managed to turn countless heads at the awards show, with many thinking her out-of-the-box look worked to showcase her creativity.

Saweetie Calls Out Haters During VMAs

Saweetie’s bone dress wasn’t the only eye-catching look the performer’s rocked as of late. She also recently showed out at New York Fashion Week, flexing a snakeskin jacket complete with red fur details and a matching snakeskin mini skirt. She broke her fit down in a TikTok with @myycloset, revealing that the look came in at well over $1K.

Nicki Minaj hosted the VMAs this year, performing her new single “Last Time I Saw You” and joining a star-studded Hip Hop 50 tribute. With her somewhat revealing outfit at the event, some fans thought they were catching glimpses at a baby bump. Miami doubled down on the speculation when she retweeted someone claiming that she might be pregnant, sending her fans into a frenzy. Now she’s responding to all the criticism of her outfit choice while sharing pics from the event. “Maybe it gotta grow on y’all idk but I loved it,” she captioned a tweet with four pics of her outfit attached. Yung Miami Claps Back At Haters

This isn’t the only time Yung Miami has had to defend her outfit choices from fans recently. She and JT turned up to a Beyonce show in LA and seemed to have the time of their life. But fans online still took issue with the outfit she wore to the show. Miami didn’t let that slide, clapping back at one fan in particular in a heated tweet.

She also beefed back and forth with fans over a video of her dad. Miami thought people online were a bit too thirsty about the clip and called them out in an Instagram live. Yung Miami Talks Reality Show And Podcast During VMA Interview

The VMAs took place last night and plenty of celebrities were in attendance. That meant that reporters were able to catch up with some of the biggest stars in music. That’s exactly what Billboard did with Yung Miami when they got the chance to ask her about a number of topics. “It means everything… to be a girl from the hood out here just enjoying the VMAs,” she begins the interview before being asked a series of more specific questions.

When the interviewer asks Yung Miami what she has next after a big 2023 so far, she answers right away. “I got a reality show coming out, the City Girls dropping an album, I got a new podcast.” Clearly, people looking for more Miami won’t have to look far as she’s got a lot on the way. Diddy Reflects On The “Diddy Bop” Dance & His Failed NFL Dream During MTV Acceptance Speech

Diddy reflected on the origin of his “Diddy Bop” dance move while accepting the Global Icon Award at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards in Newark, New Jersey on Tuesday night. In doing so, he discussed his original dreams of making it to the NFL and how that failure resulted in the dance move.

“This is a dream come true for me,” he said on stage alongside Mary J. Blige, his son King Combs and three daughters. “I grew up watching MTV like, ‘Man, I wish one day I could be up there.’ I didn’t know I was gon’ be here, I started out as a paper boy at 12 and then I was gon’ be an NFL football player for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Pittsburgh Steelers didn’t know this, but I planned on being a football player and my leg got broke the last year.”

“I got depressed and I would be in the clubs dancing in New York doing my ‘Diddy Bop,’ and then people would see me and they would cast me for videos,” he continued. “That’s how I fell in love with the music industry. I saw the executives and I wanted to chase that dream. So I wanna thank every executive, every producer, every songwriter. I gotta thank the Bad Boy family ’cause without them I would not be up here. NLE Choppa’s “Full Circle Moment” With Nelly At The VMAs Draws Offset Comparisons

The VMAs were last night and music industry stars showed out from start to finish. They were so packed with big names that some even made appearances in the pre-show. One of those performances was a perfect pairing between NLE Choppa and Nelly. They teamed up to perform a medley of Nelly’s classic hit “It’s Getting Hot” and the NLE Choppa song that interpolates it “Hot In Herre.” The two performers blended together perfectly treating fans to a hyped-up performance. On the pink carpet, Choppa explained how the collab came about. “It just simply came about by reaching out to him and just asking. And this was one of the moments he was waiting for — to have with me and we did and we shared the stage and we graced it.”

One of the things that stood out to fans online was that NLE Choppa was performing choreography on stage. While choreo has been creeping into hip-hop in recent years it is almost exclusively reserved for female rappers. Fans watching Choppa unveil some pre-planned dance moves reminded of another rapper who recently dipped his toes into choreography, Offset. Soulja Boy says that he wasn’t impressed by the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. Taking to Twitter on Wednesday morning, he asked where Travis Scott, Drake, Beyonce, JAY-Z, and more stars were during the night. He also shared a fan’s post about him not being invited to perform.

“VMAs was Wack,” he began in one post. “No Travis and he just dropped best album. No lil baby. Where was 50 cent ain’t this 50 years of hip hop? Fuck this Shit free thug.” He then added: “Why young boy ain’t ever perform at VMAs or BET? Music game Fucked up let the real ones shine,” while retweeting a fan’s post that reads: “Wack without you Draco! All this folks copied you style all day long. I’m hurt.”

Singer-songwriter Victoria Monét offered a moment of transparency this morning following last night’s VMAs. While Monét did make an appearance at the star-studded award show, fans couldn’t help but ask why she was spotted among the audience rather than gracing the stage with a performance. The R&B sensation took to social media to graciously thank her fans and shed more light on why she wasn’t invited to perform at the award show. “I see your advocation for me to have performed tonight and I’m so grateful to you!!,” Victoria began. “Sincerely! My team was told it is ‘too early in my story’ for that opportunity so we will keep working! I’m grateful for YOU, for my tour starting this Friday and for the ability to see some of my favorite people perform tonight and receive the love they so deserve!!!”

However, her fans felt differently and felt as though she’s had a successful year and should have performed. “Thats bullshit she got the #1 song right now and she been makin music for years,” one user wrote. “This exactly why I don’t look at these award shows. Victoria Monét Explained On Social Media

Monét is fresh off the release of her recent album JAGUAR II. The project has been met with industry-wide support, largely thanks to her single “On My Mama” going viral on TikTok, which helped Victoria make her debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Furthermore, the singer seems to have plenty of things that don’t concern the VMAs to keep her occupied, especially in the coming months. She’s set to embark on a nationwide tour in support of her latest album JAGUAR II. She’ll be on the road for 22 dates, hitting major cities such as Los Angeles, Toronto, and Atlanta before closing out in Chicago in October.

Lastly, Victoria Monét has opened up in previous interviews about her creative mindset during the project. In an interview with Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1, she admitted: “I was really having a hard time. I had postpartum depression, I was still breastfeeding, just adjusting to the life, but also in the midst of COVID. So we’re in a pandemic, everything’s a little bit risky, scary to even be in the studio with a child. And ‘On My Mama’ was the first record I did that I actually liked. But it came while I was in a place of disbelief in what I was actually saying. So it’s almost like I had to speak it into existence.”

Sukihana fired back at her haters on social media, Wednesday, after her recent antics at the MTV Video Music Awards. While walking the red carpet at the event, she got down and twerked on all fours. Videos of the moment have since been circulating on social media. Many users online weren’t happy with the behavior.

One person online wrote: “I just had a daughter, I’m sorry I look at things much differently now and I would hate to see her acting like this. Sukihana shot back: “Girl you was sleeping with Flavor [Flav] you ain’t scared of nothing.” From there, Deelishis apologized for possibly offending. “First off let me start off by saying to Sukihana I apologize if my comment upset or offended you,” Deelishis wrote on Instagram. “I should have said ‘you too fine for that flo’ which is a much more precise way of describing what I thought when I saw the post or even better not comment at all.”

While carrying a clutch with the rapper’s face on it, she remarked to PEOPLE: “We’re in a great space, everything is positive, we’re having a lot of fun.” She also teased that they may collaborate on new music together.
