Skepta Drops Braggadocious Bars On “Gas Me Up (Diligent)”

Skepta had the internet in a little bit of a frenzy a couple of weeks ago when he revealed some cover art. It is for his second album single “Gas Me Up (Diligent)” which just dropped today. The song will land on his next highly-awaited studio album Knife And Fork. The reason why some people were so up in arms about it was because the artwork evoked one of the most inhumane events in the history of mankind.

As most music fans are aware, Kanye was dragged through the mud (deservedly so) for his derogatory statements. Those of which were directed at the Jewish community. Fans were jumping to conclusions that Skepta was in on the hate speech as well. However, the UK rapper hopped on Twitter to explain the meaning behind his artistic direction.

Lil Nas X Gets Introspective On “Where Do We Go Now?”

Throughout Lil Nas X’s career, the songs that have helped him blow up are his blockbuster bangers. Go figure though right? But, one of the more underrated talents he possesses is the ability to write thought-provoking tracks. That is what he is bringing to the table this week with “Where Do We Go Now?” This is Nas X’s second single in two weeks. The reason why this one is out so quickly is that his documentary is dropping tomorrow.

This single will be able to be heard in Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero. The Georgia native is showing fans what it was like during the first world tour of his still-young journey in music. His film will be out on Max and HBO on January 27 at 8 p.m. Since we know that this is a song that accompanies this project, it will be interesting to see if his next tape will be a soundtrack.

Heems Returns With Saul Williams And Lapgan For “Accent,” The Lead Single To His Upcoming Project

New York has so many corners of hip-hop, with underground being one of its most prevalent. That is where Punjabi-American rapper Heems has resided for his career. Overall, he has not been extremely active. He has delivered a decent string of singles over the past year as far as Heems’ standards are concerned. But, the last full-length tape we got from him came back in 2015 with Eat Pray Thug.

However, that is all changing after almost nine (!) years. Heems will be dropping a collaboration album with Indian-American producer Lapgan. The tape will be titled LAFANDAR and is due to be released on Friday, February 16. It will be an offering from Heems’ label Veena Sounds which is another exciting project of his.

Tierra Whack Unveils Debut Album, “World Wide Whack,” Coming Soon

You won’t find many MCs in the modern era that are as vibrant, versatile, or viciously sought-after as Tierra Whack. Moreover, her creative blends of hip-hop, pop, R&B, and alternative, all under a cheeky, playful, but nonetheless impactful lens, have captivated fans in the mainstream and underground alike ever since her 2018 project Whack World. However, it’s been a long time since we heard anything from the Philly MC in a long-form capacity, particularly her Rap?, Pop?, and R&B? EPs from 2021. Along with some singles and loose freestyles, this fueled the fire for fans begging for more and more, and she finally took the step to invite fans into her world once more.

Furthermore, Tierra Whack just announced her debut album, World Wide Whack, set for a March 15 release via Interscope Records. “I really took my time with this, so I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do,” she wrote on her social media platforms along with the project’s cover art. Not only that, but the “Chanel Pit” multi-hyphenate (a track which might appear on this LP) also announced her lead single for the project, “Shower Song,” which will come out this Friday (January 26). She had previously previewed this song with a cheeky Internet clip of her in the bathtub with some hot dogs… that she proceeded to eat with some mustard. Tasty!

Of course, fans are incredibly excited to dive into World Wide Whack, and it’s great to see one of the best hip-hop artists working today diving into a new rollout. Hopefully this incorporates the genre blends in more progressive and meaty ways compared to the potential and strong songwriting displayed on previous singles and her 2021 EPs. We can’t really predict what Tierra Whack will do here, but that is exactly what makes this a very anticipated project for 2024’s first quarter. Bizarre Teases Upcoming LP With Mean-Mugging Single “Uncle”

Detroit has been the birthplace of some of the most special talents in hip-hop history. It may not get the same shine as places like Los Angeles, Chicago, and Atlanta, but it deserves to be right up there with them. One of the reasons why is due largely in part to the former rap posse D12. Formed in 1996 by maybe the best to ever do it, Eminem, is no more. The Real Slim Shady talked about it on his surprise 2018 record Kamikaze. He addressed the fallout with his members such as Bizarre, Bugz, Proof, and the rest of the gang.

Bizarre is someone who is still going strong all these years later. Spitting aggressively since 1998, he is continuing his career with an upcoming album. It appears it will be released under Shady Records as opposed to some of his other affiliations such as Redhead. To help promote Ratt Poison, Bizarre is bringing a gritty street banger called “Uncle.”

Sauce Walka is one of the more underrated talents from Texas. He has proven that he can deliver his music in different ways. The 33-year-old veteran is not a one-note kind of guy and he proves that on his newest single. Currently, it is only available on YouTube, so if you want to listen to it, check out the link below. Sauce is throwing things back to the 90s with “Im Him.” It is a three-minute track that flexes his ability to spit with ease. You could say he is rapping like the rent is due on this one. Walka had the song produced by Daringer, who works on the Griselda label.

It may be a bit of an unexpected collaboration, but it works to perfection. Daringer brings a smooth, boom-bap flavor to the table, and Walka feasts on it. Excitingly, this is a teaser to the Houston native’s upcoming project for 2024. When it drops, it will follow up his lone 2023 LP, DAT BOY DEN. It will be tied into the albums named after him.

Benny The Butcher Slam Dunks The Competition On “BRON”
