World’s Largest Breaking Competition’s World Finals Returns To NYC

Today, global one-on-one breaking competition, Red Bull BC One, announces its return to New York City, the birthplace of Hip-Hop. Elite competitive breakers and Olympic hopefuls (‘b-boys’ and ‘b-girls’) from all corners of the globe will descend to New York City, where the world’s most highly anticipated annual breaking competition, the Red Bull BC One World Final, will take place on Saturday, November 12th at the Hammerstein Ballroom.

With over 60 qualifier events hosted across 30 countries, the competition brings together the best in breaking for an electrifying battle on the largest international stage, with the final event featuring a line-up of 16 b-boys and 16 b-girls. Last year’s Red Bull BC One World Final was hosted in Poland with B-Boy Amir from Kazakhstan and B-Girl Logistx from the USA taking the belt. Both will defend their titles at this year’s World Final.

Born on the streets of the Bronx, breaking is one of hip-hop’s four foundational elements, as integral to the expansion of the culture as MCing, DJing, and graffiti. Over nearly five decades, the vibrant local art form has broken beyond New York boroughs and become a worldwide phenomenon, evolving into a gravity-defying hybrid of stylized dance and athletic sport now globally recognized, with a sporting debut set for 2024.

In celebration of breaking’s progression, breakers from across the world will reunite in the art form’s birthplace at this unique moment in history to battle for their chance to be crowned Red Bull BC One World Champion.

“There is something special about the Red Bull BC One World Final returning to New York City,” says Logan “Logistx” Edra, winner of the 2021 Red Bull BC One World Final, and the youngest to ever hold the coveted title. “As the next generation of breakers rise, I feel it’s important to honor breaking’s roots while breathing new life into the sport as it continues to amass international and well-due recognition.”

Patrick Mahomes Weds Brittany Matthews in Hawaii Celebration

Patrick Mahomes is officially a married man. Over the weekend, Mahomes married Brittany Matthews in Maui, Hawaii.

According to TMZ, Mahomes’s younger brother, Jackson Mahomes, was the star quarterback’s best man, while his teammate Travis Kelce was a groomsman. Kelce’s girlfriend Kayla Nicole was one of Brittany’s bridesmaids.

“Mr. & Mrs. Mahomes ,” the two wrote in their respective Instagram posts.

According to PEOPLE, Mahomes proposed at Arrowhead Stadium on his wife’s 25th birthday in September of 2020. The two are high school sweethearts, meeting at Whitehouse High School in Whitehouse, Texas.

Jordan Bohannon Banks Insane Desperation Last Minute 3-pointer, sending Iowa to Big 10 Final

It was the shot heard around the world- or at least throughout the midwest. With a tied score of 77, the Big 10 semifinal game between Indiana and Iowa appeared to be heading into overtime. However, with just 1.1 on the clock, sixth-year senior guard Jordan Bohannon tossed the ball from well past the three point line in what appeared to be a wild desperation shot. To the amazement of fans, he sunk the shot, sealing the win for Iowa 80-77.

The winning shot came in the face of a strong Indiana defense that appeared to be relentlessly pressing Bohannan, who happens to be Iowa’s all-time leader in assists, games played and 3-pointers. The Hoosiers had appeared to dominate the game throughout the second half until Iowa made a late fourth quarter rally.fourth-quarter.

Following the game, Bohannon attempted to articulate his feelings about the game-winning shot to the Des Moines Register as “something that can’t even be put into words,” saying, “you dream about it as a little kid, throwing up shots in the backyard, throwing up shots at the local YMCA when you’re a kid and hoping one day you get to this stage. And I was running in circles, I didn’t know where to go because I was so excited. To be in that moment, it’s been so much fun.”

The win will send Iowa (25-9) to its first Big Ten Tournament final since 2006. They will face No. 3 seed Purdue in the Big Ten title bout on Sunday.

On Friday night, Kanye West took a break from promoting Donda 2, but he definitely didn’t take a break from fueling the gossip mill. Ye joined new (reported) girlfriend Chaney Jones to watch the Lakers take on the Washington Wizards at the Crypto.com arena in Los Angeles.

Kanye wore a black hoodie, black jeans and black Balenciaga galoshes while Chaney wore black jeans, a low-cut v-neck shirt, black wrap sunglasses, and black gloves.

West and the 24-year-old Chaney, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Kim Kardashian (the rapper’s estranged wife) have been reportedly dating for several weeks now, following the rapper’s breakup with Julia Fox last month.

Chaney has not explicitly addressed her relationship with West publicly although she did share a simple quote from the ‘Positive Minds’ on her Instagram story, which simply read: “Small circle. Private life. Happy heart. Clear mind. Peaceful life.”

The couple’s appearance came on the same day that Kim Kardashian appeared to make her relationship with Pete Davidson official, sharing a series of romantic pictures of the two of them together.

The Lakers beat the Wizards 122 to 109.

Today In Hip Hop History: The Killing Of Notorious B.I.G In Los Angeles 25 Years Later

On this day in 1997, Brooklyn native and Hip Hop legend Christopher Wallace, a.k.a. The Notorious B.I.G. or Biggie Smalls was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in LA. 25 years ago

Wallace left Puff Daddy’s Vibe Magazine party in a GMC Suburban SUV that stopped at a red light at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and South Fairfax. While stopped a Chevrolet Impala SS pulled up beside him and his entourage. According to witnesses, a black male dressed in a blue suit and bow tie rolled down his window and shot Biggie four times and he was pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

After years of investigations and conspiracy theories as to who killed Biggie and why, no one has been brought to justice to answer for Wallace’s death. Former LAPD Detective Russell Poole fought vigorously, even sometimes against his own peers, to get to the bottom of his untimely death. Poole died from a heart attack on August 19, 2015 while discussing the Tupac Shakur and Wallace cases at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The legacy B.I.G. left behind is embedded in Hip Hop culture officially two decades later and will continue to influence the community as his family and friends share his story.

Fans Guess Cardi B As Rapper On Latto’s Upcoming Single

Clayco native Latto is continuously earning her stripes in her industry as a heavy hitter in the game. The rapper’s consistency, rap flow, and originality have charted her on Billboard and won the rapper several awards.

As Latto is still beating the odds on the mic, the 23-year-old rapper hinted at a new collaboration in the works with a fellow emcee. According to her post on social media, the female lyricist explained that the guest on her single titled “Wheelie” is a parent, has attended the Met Gala, and has a diamond record.

Fans immediately swarmed the comments believing that the guest appearance on the track could be Cardi B. “Probs Cardi. Sounds like a beat she’d use. I can hear her chasing the beat already,” one fan wrote.

“She’s been interacting with Cardi alot and this sound like a Cardi-type beat,” another fan commented.

While some fans believe that the feature could be coming from Cardi, others speculate that the feature could be coming from Nicki Minaj. “We all know Latto a die-hard fan of Nicki and always wanted a collab with Nicki,” one fan wrote.

While many are excited about this upcoming collab, fans are missing that Latto never stated the rapper was a female. This also leaves the options open for a male emcee to hop on the collaboration.

SOURCE SPORTS: Kenny “The Jet” Smith Said Ja Morant Should Be Jack Harlow’s Co-Star in ‘White Men Can’t Jump’ Reboot

Jack Harlow is been showing off his hooping abilities as of late and now he’ll be able to do both simultaneously. Harlow will be starring in the reboot of the 1992 comedy classic film White Men Can’t Jump. Former NBA Player and TNT NBA host Kenny Smith gave a suggestion on who he think should co-star in the up-and-coming film.

Smith recently ran into TMZ where he shared this idea. He said they should grab Memphis’ young talent Ja Morant.

“They should get a current young player,” Smith said. “They should get Ja Morant. They get Ja Morant to do that. No question. Hey, production credit.”

It’s uncertain when the film will begin its production stages but the film will be scripted by black-ish creator Kenya Barris and Doug Hall. Barris and his Khalabo Ink Society banner are also producing. Blake Griffin, Ryan Kalil, and Noah Weinstein are executives producing the project through their Mortal Media banner. Hall and E. Brian Dobbins will also executive produce the film.

Harlow will star in the role originally played by Woddy Harrelson. He got the lead after his first-ever screen audition. If Smith is right in his suggestion, the sequel to White Men Can’t Jump will be one of the most entertaining movies just as it was in the past.
