Topanga From ‘Boy Meets World’ Appears In Jack Harlow’s Spooky New Album Trailer

Come this Friday, Jack Harlow’s new album, Come Home The Kids Miss You, will be out in the world. And ever since he appeared on Lil Nas X’s “Industry Baby,” Harlow has been continuously raising the bar in promoting the heck out of this wildly-anticipated album. While we haven’t gotten a full tracklist yet, the first single, “Nail Tech,” was a total heater, but Harlow said it was his “least favorite song on the album.” Single number two was “First Class,” and it netted Harlow his first No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100. And while Harlow is also getting his own KFC menu and an official “Jack Harlow Day” in his native Louisville, what he did today might just top everything.

Pandering to nostalgia is totally ok in our book and in a new teaser clip that Harlow tweeted out today, we see none other than ’90s mega-crush, Topanga Lawrence, from Boy Meets World, making an appearance. The creepy video sees Topanga (Danielle Fishel) driving through an LA street on a Halloween afternoon looking like she’s gonna completely lose her sh*t as her unsuspecting kids chill in the back of her black-on-black Range Rover.

Harlow tweeted out the clip saying just, “Friday,” and as the 48 second clip comes to a close, we see the words “Come Home The Kids Miss You May 6th” on the screen. Could this be a vignette to a new music video? Never mind that Harlow isn’t old enough t0 have watched Boy Meets World when it first aired (he was born in 1998 and the show ended its seven-year run in 2000), but the influence of Topanga is eternal. Your move Jack… we’ll be waiting.

‘Yo! MTV Raps’ Is Officially Back With A Trailer And A Premiere Date

Once upon a time, back before we all had supercomputers in our pockets but after video killed the radio star, the place to go to learn more about the then-nascent music and culture of hip-hop was Yo! MTV Raps (at least for those of us outside the New York tri-state area). Airing in the US from 1988 to 1995, the two-hour video block was the first of its kind on the network, airing rap videos, interviews with rappers, and in-studio performances. It was the first time many folks outside of urban America got to see the exciting new art form as it gained in popularity and power.

With the exception of a few anniversary shows, the block has been off the air for over 25 years. However, that’s soon to change thanks to the new streaming service Paramount+, which is relaunching the show with battle rapper/MTV fixture Conceited as the host alongside DJ Diamond Kuts. Like its predecessor, the show revival is set to feature interviews, performances, and, perhaps inspired by the original show’s legendary final episode, live ciphers from some of hip-hop’s hottest rising stars.

The show will premiere on May 24 with Freddie Gibbs and will air weekly, with future takeovers from Latto, Saba, JID, Shenseea, Tee Grizzley, IDK, and Trina. According to Complex, more stars including Baby Tate, Just Blaze, and Maino will appear throughout the season. In addition, Paramount+ will feature archived episodes from the show’s original run alongside past episodes of VH1’s Behind The Music and another pivotal MTV staple, Unplugged.

Pete Davidson Joked About His Issues With Kanye During A ‘Netflix Is A Joke’ Show

The strange, uncomfortable drama between Pete Davidson and Kanye West, that erupted after Pete began a relationship with Kanye’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, had the internet glued to their screens. Throughout the unsettling videos and diss tracks Kanye was releasing, and incessant social media posts, Pete mostly kept his mouth shut, refraining from any response or joking about the rapper on SNL. Since then, Kanye has left social media, canceled his headlining Coachella performance, and reportedly gone off the grid somewhere to seek healing. That’s great!

But last night, during a performance at the Netflix Is A Joke festival in Los Angeles, Davis did discuss what he went through during that time. According to a report from Entertainment Tonight, Davidson kicked off his set with “jokes about the rapper telling Davidson that Davidson had AIDS and that he believed West because West is a genius.” Later on, he mentioned that “being humiliated is weird when you can’t do anything about it.” He also recalled a basketball game with Chris Rock in December 2021, which he referred to as “before life was over,” referencing the very public events that befell both men a few months after.

Finally, Pete noted that he doesn’t have any ill will against his friend, Jack Harlow, for collaborating with Kanye — but joked that if his King Of Staten Island co-star, Bill Burr, attended one of Kanye’s Sunday Services, that would be “a different story.” Some of those jokes sound like they’d be pretty funny delivered in Pete’s signature deadpan, but hopefully the prodding doesn’t bring Ye back with Twitter fingers blazing.

Megan Thee Stallion Is Working With Netflix On A Comedy Series Loosely Based On Her Life

The Netflix Is A Joke comedy festival is gearing up to launch their ten-day event, and even though massive layoffs in their editorial departments this week might put a damper on the fest, it is still continuing as planned. The massive streamer is well-known, at this point, for launching its own original content, and the platform’s head of comedy, Tracey Pakosta, gave an extensive interview with Deadline about future plans in advance of this year’s festival. Though Pakosta has lots to say in the lengthy feature, what might be most interesting for rap fans is a tidbit about the streamer’s current deal with Megan Thee Stallion, which includes a first look clause.

According to Pakosta, Megan came into meetings with Netflix with a concept already in place. “It’s very early stages,” Pakosta cautioned, before letting fans know the scoop anyway: “She came in and she pitched something loosely based on her life growing up, and we got very excited about it. We think she’s special.” Based on what we know about what Megan has already gone through in her life, losing her mom right when her rap career was blowing up, a little humor injected into the story will be necessary. But there’s almost no one funnier than the “Plan B” rapper at the moment, and she could easily carry a series. And maybe Netflix could hire back some of those writers to help work on it? Just a thought.

Killer Mike Discusses Nas In A Clip From His ‘Ozark’ Cameo

Last summer, it was reported that Killer Mike would be making a cameo in the fourth (and final) season of Netflix’s Ozark, with Mike saying at the time, “I went from waiting to find out what happens next to being part of it… I’m excited.” Well, that fourth season is currently underway and now Netflix has shared a clip of the Run The Jewels rapper’s appearance.

(Warning: There are potential spoilers below.)

In the scene, Mike (playing himself) is approached by Ruth (Julia Garner) in a diner, who tells the rapper, “I just want to say I really love your sh*t.” After showing gratitude for the compliment, Mike asks what Ruth is playing in the one earbud in her ear. Mike grabs the headphones to listen to a few seconds of the song, Nas’ “NY State Of Mind.”

Ruth offers her interpretation of the 1994 track, saying, “It always feels to me like he hates it and misses it all at once, and he’s only f*cking 20.” Mike offers, “You know, when I listen to that record, his projects are in Queens, and you can kinda see Manhattan. And I’ve always thought it was so hopeful and f*cking cruel at the same time.”

Kim Kardashian Was In Tears After Kanye West Retrieved Her Sex Tape On ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’

Earlier this year, Kanye West claimed in an interview that he retrieved a laptop that contained a second sex tape Kim Kardashian and Ray J had made together. “I met this man at the airport, then got on the red-eye, came back… delivered it to her at 8 a.m. in the morning. I gave it to her, and she cried when she saw it. You know why she cried when she saw that laptop? It represents how much she’s been used,” the rapper said.

A representative for the Kardashians denied there being anything sexual in the footage, but that moment, of West handing the tape over to his then-wife, appeared during Wednesday’s episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. “He got me all of the sex tape back,” an emotional Kim told her mom Kris and sister Khloe, among others. “And he flew home and he got the computer it was on and the hard drive. He met up with Ray J at the airport.” In a confessional interview, she added, “I know Kanye did this for me, but he also did this for my kids. I want to shield them from as much as I can. And if I had the power to or if Kanye has the power to, like, that is just the most important thing to me.”

What was on the tape that West retrieved? “It was just footage of us at a restaurant, at a nightclub. Nothing sexual, nothing weird,” Kardashian explained, “and so now I can take a deep breath and not worry about this right before SNL, right before [taking the “baby bar exam”], right before, like, everything.” You can watch that moment below.

ICYMI: NeNe Leakes Sues ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Production Companies for Supporting Racist Work Environment

NeNe Leakes, a former star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, filed a lawsuit against the show’s producers, alleging that they fostered and tolerated a hostile and racist work environment.

According to The Associated Press, Leakes complained to show executives about racist remarks from white castmate Kim Zolciak-Bierman. Instead of action against Zolciak-Bierman, Leakes was punished. The lawsuit names NBCUniversal, Bravo, True Entertainment, and Truly Original as companies. Show executive producer Andy Cohen is also named.

“NBC, Bravo and True foster a corporate and workplace culture in which racially-insensitive and inappropriate behavior is tolerated – if not, encouraged,” the suit reads.

In the suit, Zolciak-Bierman stated “words to the effect of: ‘I don’t want to sit around with NeNe and eat chicken” when a scene was set to be at a barbecue. In season five, Zolciak-Bierman would refer to Kandi Burruss neighborhood as “ghetto” and suggested Burruss did not need a swimming pool. She also allegedly used the N-word in reference to Leakes, while also referring to her home as a “roach nest” and spreading false rumors of drug abuse.

“As the Black Lives Matter movement swept our nation, Mrs. Leakes — Bravo’s historically most successful Black female talent — should have been embraced by NBC, Bravo, and True,” part of the suit reads. “Instead, NBC, Bravo, and True forced her out of the ‘house she built,’ denying her a regular role.”

Zolciak-Bierman was not included in the suit. Leakes had a seven-season run on RHOA.
