Tory Lanez Adds “Skate On Jake” & “Sweat It Out” To His Prison Tapes Collection

Tory Lanez is upholding steadfast promise to his fans as he drops off “Sweat It Out” and “Skate on Jake”. These are the newest additions to his Prison Tapes playlist that he announced on July 24 and started two days later. This is his way of delivering material to his fans while he serves his 10-year prison bout for shooting Megan Thee Stallion. Originally, the Brampton, Canada native was dropping two “Lost Tapes” per week which started at the beginning of last month. These are songs that Tory and his producers recorded throughout various points in his career.

Some go back to 2015, and others are as recent as 2020. They are now a part of this playlist and continue to be this week too. Additionally, though, Tory is recording new music in real time while being locked up and he had been doing that for the past two weeks. Those releases include “Cell 245”, “Wish I Never Met You”, “Shots Come For Free”, and “Know What You Need”. For this weekend of August 9, Tory Lanez is going back to the vault this time around as “Sweat It Out” and “Skate on Jake” are past works from 2019 and 2020, respectively. Also, as per usual with these two packs, Tory is constantly reminding you of his abilities to rap and belt out some singing cuts. You can give them each a spin with the links down below.

Tory Lanez Becomes The First Artist To Achieve This Impressive Streaming Feat

While Tory Lanez is currently behind bars for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, his music and fanbase are still as active as ever. Moreover, he recently dropped some new tracks for his die-hards to enjoy, “Know What You Need” and “Shots Come For Free,” after figuring out a way to record music from prison. But the Canadian artist is also seeing a lot of success with his previously released tracks, with his song “The Color Violet” marking a never-before-seen career feat. The record now has over 1 billion streams across all platforms, thus becoming the first song ever from any artist to do so with zero playlist support.

This description is a little vague, but we assume that it means that platforms like Spotify and Apple Music did not include “The Color Violet” on their curated, editorial, or official playlists. Tory Lanez should be very proud of this achievement, and very grateful to his fanbase for their support despite his actions. This news also arrives amid more curious and odd news concerning him, as his good friend Adin Ross suggested that he would ask Donald Trump to pardon him and set him free if he’s elected.

Tory Lanez’s “The Color Violet” Is The First Of Its Kind In The Streaming World

Elsewhere, Tory Lanez also told Adin Ross via a phone call that he graduated high school while incarcerated and enrolled in college. “I’m great,” he expressed. “I know that a lot of people sometimes when they hear prison or they hear somebody’s down, they think n***as in the corner somewhere bawling his eyes out,” remarking on his “great space” mentally and “bettering [himself] in every single way.”

“A n***a just graduated high school, enrolled in college,” Tory Lanez added. “Never thought I’d do that. But I’m taking this moment and I’m taking advantage over everything that’s good. I’m a f***ing high school dropout that just graduated high school. That s**t matters to me. So, it’s the small things that just have me feeling good about life right now.” There’s still a lot of baggage left over from the Megan Thee Stallion case, but it’s clear that this singular moment will not define his life and career, regardless of whether you support him, like his art, or not.

Adin Ross Wants To Ask Donald Trump To Pardon Tory Lanez

Adin Ross’ upcoming stream with Donald Trump is sure to ruffle a lot of feathers online. In fact, as of writing this article, the two are supposed to go live in about an hour, so make sure to check for updates on that on HNHH if you’re reading this later in the day. Regardless of the controversy behind the 2024 U.S. presidential election and whether or not you agree with these men’s politics, it should make for at least an interesting and pretty significant viral pop culture moment. Apparently, Ross also let his fans know that he would be asking the convicted former president for a very important favor to him: pardoning Tory Lanez.

If you’re reading this from under a rock, you might not know that Tory Lanez is currently serving time in jail for being found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion a couple of years ago. During a recent Adin Ross livestream, the Canadian artist called in, as the two share quite the close relationship. Lanez revealed that he graduated high school while behind bars, and that he enrolled in college to continue his education. This is very heartening news no matter what you think of that case, and it’s great to see him make something meaningful, beneficial, and fulfilling out of an otherwise difficult and contentious situation.

Adin Ross Wants Trump To Free Tory Lanez

As for Donald Trump’s ability to pardon Tory Lanez and free him from prison if he wins the election, Adin Ross might feel disappointment. Some social media users have pointed out that a president of the United States can only pardon federal cases. Since Tory has a state case, then California’s governor Gavin Newsom would have to issue the pardon, and he and Trump aren’t exactly the best of pals. But we guess that anything could happen in today’s chaotic and grim political climate in the U.S., so we wouldn’t put it past anyone.

Meanwhile, Tory Lanez hasn’t found much success when it comes to reducing his sentence or appealing the verdict of his case. Most recently, an attorney general shut down his legal team’s motion for the court to admit more “relevant evidence” in the case. This, if approved, could’ve led to a chance for the defense to point out supposed issues with the last trial and mitigate his current situation. Whether or not a presidential pardon (if Trump wins) would fix any of this remains a contentious and unlikely mystery… but we’ll see what happens.

Tory Lanez Flexes His Range On “Know What You Need” And “Shots Come For Free”

Tory Lanez is not in an ideal situation. The rapper is currently serving ten years in prison for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot. He has, however, found a way to release new music. Lanez revealed plans to start an ongoing Prison Tapes series, and he treated fans to the second batch of songs on August 2. “Know What You Need” and “Shots Come for Free” are very different in sound and lyrical content, but they showcase Tory Lanez’s range as an artist. He really does have the chops to rap and sing.

“Know What You Need” is the R&B cut, and it delivers. The instrumental is smooth, with its echoing guitar strings and driving drum pattern. Tory Lanez’s vocals fall into a familiar cadence, but he does it well, and the melody is deceptively catchy. It’s a stronger showcase for Lanez’s R&B persona than the previous installment in the Prison Tapes series, “Wish I Never Met You.” That said, “Shots Come for Free” is the standout of the two new songs. Tory Lanez doesn’t bother with a catchy chorus, he just flows from the moment the beat kicks in. There’s genuine aggression in his voice, as evidenced by the cracks and imperfections. “Shots Come for Free” is not as controversial as its title suggests, especially given what the artist is behind bars for. It’s just a hard-hitting rap cut. We’re excited for the next installment.

Let us know what you think of this brand-new track, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.

Tory Lanez’s “Relevant Evidence” In Megan Thee Stallion Case Shot Down By Attorney General

There is a major update in regard to the “relevant evidence” that Tory Lanez was claiming to have. To catch you up to speed, the Brampton, Ontario, Canada rapper recently asked the California court to hear out a statement from his driver, Jauquan Smith. A witness at the scene of the crime, Lanez was hoping that Smith’s explanation that it was Megan’s friend Kelsey Harris holding the gun would be able to end his 10-year sentence. It was one of a few wins for the “Prison Tapes” MC, as the court was willing to hear out the evidence. However, that victory was short-lived, as HipHopDX is reporting that the California Attorney General’s Office is not accepting it.

In Smith’s affidavit, he claims that he did not have good recollection of who actually shot Megan Thee Stallion. Deputy Attorney General, Michael C. Keller, is the man responsible for making this decision to shoot down Lanez’s evidence and he did so in an informal response yesterday. What helped Keller come to this was a previous undisclosed statement from Lanez’s previous lawyer, George Mgdesyan.

Tory Lanez’s Driver Is Not A “Helpful Witness”

Because George didn’t call Smith in 2022, Keller and the state came to the same conclusion. Essentially, they knew how Smith would go about his statements. “Because, obviously, his testimony is gonna be putting the gun in the hands of Kelsey”, Keller said. He also did not feel that because Smith claims to not know who pulled the trigger it “does not directly contradict [Megan]’s testimony that petitioner [Lanez] was the person who shot her”. Furthermore, he also cited that there is plenty of other evidence that goes against Lanez such as a DNA test and texts making it hard to believe it couldn’t have been anyone else but the Canadian.

What are your thoughts on Tory Lanez’s “relevant evidence” not being so according to the attorney general? What will this mean going forward for the incarcerated rapper? Do you still think its #FreeTory? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.

Wack 100 Responds To Meghann Cuniff’s Comments About Him Allegedly Lying About Tory Lanez Case

Wack 100 talked about the Tory Lanez trial, again. Lanez has been in prison since September 2023. The court found him guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion at a party in 2020. Prior to his conviction, he made several decisions that most would consider poor ones, including releasing an album that addresses the shooting on almost every song.

In February, Wack 100 claimed that there was reportedly a video of the incident that had yet to be publicly released. He also claimed that the video would be the end of Megan Thee Stallion’s career. Fans poked holes in the story. People noted that if such a video existed, a celebrity gossip outlet like TMZ probably would have spared no expense to uncover it. Months later, Wack 100 is reiterating his claims of the existence of a video in his latest appearance on DJ Vlad’s YouTube channel. He claims that it has not been released because an underage Asian person filmed it. He also claims the family is reluctanct to allow usage in court. Wack added that Los Angeles continues to feel the effects of events like the Rodney King riots. According to him, that contributed to the unwillingness of the family to get involved.

Wack 100 Speaks On Alleged Recording Of Tory Lanez

Wack 100 previously asserted that Megan Thee Stallion lied about being shot. In the above clip, he tells a story about how “humble” and “quiet” Lanez was when he introduced him to Kanye West in Miami. He considers Lanez a friend, so him favoring his friend is to be expected. However, it has been almost a year since Lanez began his prison sentence. There is no indication that a video like the one he mentioned exists.

Lanez recently released Prison Tapes, an album recorded over the last few months. Despite his charges, fans of his are still loyal to him. Two people recently yelled “Free Tory” at Megan Thee Stallion, which prompted a funny response from her. Meanwhile, Megan herself has had a successful year. Her latest album, Megan, went over well with her fans. Her Hot Girl Summer Tour started in May, and concludes at Lollapalooza on August 1. We’ll see how Lanez’s appeal goes.

Tory Lanez’s Driver Claims He Didn’t See Megan Thee Stallion Get Shot

The case involving Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion seemed like a done deal. The former was found guilty of shooting the latter in the foot, and sentenced to prison as a result. Evidently, however, there was more to the story. Tory Lanez’s former driver, Jauquan Smith, recently came forward with an eyewitness account. He recalled driving the vehicle shortly before the 2020 shooting, and claimed that he didn’t see who actually shot Megan Thee Stallion. Smith’s testimony was submitted in an attempt to appeal Lanez’s prison sentence.

Jauquan Smith stated that Tory Lanez, Megan Thee Stallion, and a woman named Kelsey Harris were arguing in the vehicle. He added that he saw Harris holding the gun that shot Megan at one point, and recalls seeing Lanez attempt to disarm the woman. “I pulled over to stop them,” Smith continued. “Ms. Pete and Ms. Harris both got out of the vehicle and continued to fight, both verbally and physically. It’s here where the driver’s testimony proves revelatory. He insisted that Lanez attempted to diffuse the situation, rather than escalate it. “Mr. Peterson and Ms. Harris began struggling as Mr. Peterson tried to unarm Ms. Harris,” Smith wrote.

Tory Lanez’s Driver Didn’t Testify During The Singer’s Trial

The driver, notably, did not testify during Tory Lanez’s trial. He did, however, provide some clarification as to why he’s coming forward now. He claims the D.A. was not ready to cross examine him during the case, and was not contacted afterwards. Smith asserted that the eye witness testimony he has to offer would have been immensely helpful to Lanez. “I wanted to present this evidence during Mr. Peterson’s trial but was prevented from doing so,” he explained. “I believe I should have been allowed to present this evidence at trial.”

The California Attorney General’s Office presents a different story. They acknowledged that they knew about Jauquan Smith’s testimony, but felt it wouldn’t have helped. “Recognizing that an independent eyewitness had placed the gun in the hands of Harris prior to the shooting,” explained Deputy Attorney General Michael C. Keller. “Defense counsel explained that it would not ‘do anything’ to have appellant’s friend say the same thing.” It remains to be seen what Smith’s testimony will do for Lanez in retrospect.

Tory Lanez Kicks Off The Prison Tapes With “Wish I Never Met You / Cell 245”

Tory Lanez’s voice remains to be heard regardless of his current situation and it sounds pretty damn good on these new “Prison Tapes”. These are an extension of the Canadian hybrid’s “Lost Tapes”, which are older recordings spanning from 2015-2020. Pretty much all of them see Mr. Lanez on his R&B vibes, but on these tracks from behind prison walls, he is giving is a dosage of his aggressive rapping style too. The 31-year-old artist announced this on his social media a couple of days ago through a prison phone. Usually, when rappers release material from behind bars, the quality takes a hit. However, Tory claimed that his engineer was able to work some magic to make it sound like he laid these down in a studio.

Well, Tory Lanez did not a tell, because the first “Prison Tapes” installments sound extremely crisp. Like his “Lost Tapes”, there will be two new releases weekly. Additionally, the hitmaker is now giving both a home on his “Free Tory Playlist”. Starting this new string of songs are “Wish I Never Hurt You” and “Cell 245”, and like we said, these are showing the duality of Tory. The former is sees him struggling with the loss of a lover as he goes as far as to say he wishes they never met so he could have avoided the pain altogether. Conversely, Tory is rapping like the rent is due on “Cell 245” while getting introspective in the process. Both kick off the “Prison Tapes” to perfection and we can’t wait for the rest.

Tory Lanez Hater Goes Viral For Sparking Debate Around His Music

It seems like Tory Lanez’s new “Lost Tapes” singles inspired a refreshed conversation around his music as a whole, and not everyone’s a fan. Moreover, a tweet recently went viral for claiming that his music was never good, prompting millions of clicks and a whole lot of contentious and fiery debate in the replies. Many of the Canadian artist’s biggest fans linked their favorite material to counter this argument, whereas others completely agreed and led die-hards into an even more defensive position. Of course, a lot of people also brought up the Megan Thee Stallion situation as either a point to separate from this conversation or as something that goes beyond it.

Furthermore, we know that Tory Lanez’s conviction for shooting the Houston femcee continues to cause debates online and in person. Megan Thee Stallion was recently exiting a venue when a group of men exclaimed “Free Tory” in her direction, which she reacted hilariously and disrespectfully to. But plenty of folks arguing over the quality of the music don’t take into account that controversy when making their assessments. On the flip-side, a select few would rather use that ammunition to make artistic arguments for or against, which is always a losing battle.

Tory Lanez Hater Has His Viral Day In The Sun: See Replies For Reactions & Debate

Speaking of that shooting case, at least Tory Lanez got a relatively heartening update when it comes to his legal process. The California court of appeals posited that they will consider his requests for “relevant evidence”; in other words, evidence that would help him in his appeal process. In addition, the court’s decision was a direct answer to the prosecution opposing the motion. As such, we don’t know whether authorities will actually side with Lanez here, but there’s at least a chance that they will improve his chances at a way out.

Meanwhile, this comes amid more disheartening updates when it comes to Tory Lanez’s current situation. His wife filed for divorce during his prison sentence after less than a year of marriage. A lot of ink already tried to speculate on what happened here and why this seemed like such a quick decision during Lanez’s legal process. But it seems like we can’t know for sure yet, at least until somebody sheds more light on the debacle.

Tory Lanez Brings Sad & Steamy Vibes On Newest Lost Tapes Entries, “Girls In The Room (2020) / L.M.B.B (2018)”

Since the start of July, Brampton, Ontario, Canadian native Tory Lanez has been dishing out some unreleased recordings under the “Lost Tapes” moniker. He has done so every weekend and their existences range from 2015-2020. All of these releases see the multi-hyphenate using his auto-crooning style, which means that R&B is the name of the game. Fans of his continuously debate which side of him they prefer. But with him serving 10 years of prison time, any “new” music from Tory is going to be a welcome sight for now.

The topical focus for these now six different tracks has centered around falling in and out of love and getting absolutely freaky in the bedroom. That remains to be the formula on Tory Lanez’s two latest “Lost Tapes” installments, “Girls In The Room (2020)” and “L.M.B.B (2018)”. On the former, Daystar Peterson is drunkenly singing to a girl who has he has felt strongly about for some time. He tries to snake his way into her heart by telling this woman that she is messing around with the wrong guys. Conversely, “L.M.B.B” sees Tory losing “baddest b****” after she played with his feelings. Listen to these new tracks and let us know if these are your favorites from the series so far in the comments.
