TisaKorean Lives Up To The Title Of New Album “In Silly We Trust”

TisaKorean doesn’t take himself too seriously. The biggest advantage he has is the willingness to attempt vocal inflections and say things that his peers wouldn’t. It’s the reason his songs go viral, and the reason that the title of his new album, In Silly We Trust, is so fitting. The eccentric rapper dishes out 12 songs in only 21 minutes, knowing good and well that his schtick would wear thin over a typically bloated rap tape. The sparseness of In Silly We Trust not only makes it easier to listen to, but it makes the material that is here all the more potent.

TisaKorean is not one for dense wordplay. He does, have a Playboi Carti-esque gift for vocal melody that makes everything he says sound catchy. It’s anybody’s guess what the rapper is saying on “IEgs In tHe aIr,” but the beat is infectious and the hook is ridiculously smooth. It’s one of the more subdued songs on the album, but its solid execution still allows it to stand out. “SiLlY SuRf,” conversely, is an absurd piece of snap rap that sounds like it was unearthed from a 2006 D4L session. TisaKorean is able to churn out borderline parody songs, and then turn out a genuinely smooth R&B cut alongside Don Toliver on “lOvE LeTtEr.” The man’s got range.

TisaKorean Ups The Weirdness On “Strut Nation”

TisaKorean continues to prove time after time that he’s a one-of-one MC. Lots of rappers have animated and expressive flows. But the things that the Texas native pulls off is truly something that we guarantee has never touched your ears. Because of this, his song structures can come across as non-existent. He takes his voice to so many different places, it makes it hard to keep track if his on the chorus or a verse. Depending on who you ask, that could be a good or a bad thing. For us, we are sort of in the middle. That is especially true on this latest effort from TisaKorean, “sTrUt nAtIoN”. Based on how he’s delivering his lyrics, as well as the production, this feels like a direct follow-up to his last single, “bEat uP dAt bOy”.

There, TisaKorean sort of sounded like how the Cookie Monster from Sesame Street would if he were to become a rapper. However, we do appreciate the chaotic and aggressive production. It definitely embodies the title of the single, with the pulsing and dirty drums giving off the impression that someone is in fact getting beat down. On “sTrUt nAtIoN”, TisaKorean sounds like a mixture of that same puppet, with some hints of Kermit the Frog at various points throughout the two-minute track. As far as the production, it’s a little less all over the place and has an alien-like quality to it. Given the cohesion between these cuts, even down to the covers (a dog and a cat), there’s a good chance we are in the middle of a new project rollout. Check out “sTrUt nAtIoN” with the link below.

TisaKorean Drops New, Short, Single “Money Happiness”

Texas rapper TisaKorean is back with another single. Since breaking out in 2018, he has been a prolific artist. Fans of his can expect at least one new album a year. Last year, he featured on Don Toliver’s album Love Sick, contributing to the track “Go Down.” This past April, he released MUMU 8818, a 10-track effort that was Tisa at his most Tisa. Instead of the slower, moodier sounds that much of Texas’ rap scene operates in, Tisa goes for the opposite. He prefers high-energy songs, the result of his time in college as a frequent partygoer and DJ. It makes him stand out among his peers, and he has built a dedicated fanbase since first going viral several years ago.

“Money Happiness” is another traditionally upbeat track for TisaKorean. If you’ve heard his music, you know what to expect from him. He does not deviate much from what brought him to the dance, much to his own success. It’s a track designed both for parties and TikTok, clocking in at just 96 seconds. It would not be his first song to break through on TikTok, as he has a collection of tracks that have done so already. The hook is catchy, and the verse is quick. He talks about money, women, his car (which he confirms is not an Acura), and how it all makes him feel better. For some, money can’t buy happiness. For TisaKorean, it only improves his mood. Stream “Money Happiness” below.

TisaKorean – “Money Happiness”

Quotable Lyrics:

It can occur, clean her like a janitor
The most she get up out me is a pedicure
I put my chain away, it was just yelling burrr
I gave the bitch the racks, but I’m the manager
The outside churro, inside cinnamon
Cherokee Indian, bad bitch off the Hen
Jaywalking citizen, like doorbell she let me in
Bad for her like poisonin’, I’m street fightin’ like Ryu, Ken

TisaKorean Is In His Own Lane With “MUMU 8818”

TisaKorean is one of the wildest rappers out in the wild west. The Texas native is doing essentially the opposite of what artists do in the Southwest. Instead of woozy, slow-mo sounds that have moodier tones, Tisa opts for colorful and high-energy cuts. He has done that throughout his six-year career and is doing more of the same on his latest album. Over the weekend TisaKorean came through with MUMU 8818, marking his first record in just over a year. It is a tight, 10-track record with no features.

It is just Tisa being creative and we are all ears for it. Honestly, it makes sense as to why he is riding solo for the second consecutive album. There just are not many rappers out there who mesh well with him. That in and of itself is a great quality to possess as a creator and it makes MUMU 8818 that much more enjoyable.

TisaKorean Goes Absolutely Wild On New Single “UCCI”: Stream

TisaKorean is hopping back into the rap game in 2024 with his first release of the year, the wild new single “UCCI” and its accompanying music video. The “Rando” entertainer -– known for his rapping, his singing, and his dancing -– came through with an above all vibrant song that feels like ear candy in an almost annoying way, like a lot of great and fun rap songs tend to me. This is thanks to a high-pitched, nasal, and fast-flowing vocal performance that pairs up perfectly with the synth-heavy and rapid trap beat. The chorus melody will definitely get stuck in your head for an unspecified amount of time, and it’s a little over two minutes that wastes no time in kicking things off with a bang and keeping the energy on high for the whole duration.

Furthermore, this is exactly the kind of style that made fans fall in love with the Houston rapper in the first place. For example, earlier cuts like “GRoCERIES” or “Spongy” showed off his personality in a big way, and made his impactful entrance in the game all the more colorful. But TisaKorean’s stayed pretty prolific since then, and with cuts like “UCCI” as our example, it’s clear that he’s having as much fun as ever with his current material. As far as the music video below, it’s pretty much your standard rap video fare with a little more effects and aesthetic variations, plus different camera qualities and perspectives. But the real highlight here is just how effectively he was able to make this simple and almost annoyingly overblown song into something engaging.

Meanwhile, it would be interesting to see the 29-year-old collaborate with other artists for more long-form efforts to push his craft a bit forward. After all, Hope v2 with Sunny Galactic was a nice treat of an EP, and it’s always great to see how artists can pull each other into their worlds. Here’s hoping there’s some more evolution on the way for TisaKorean that’s as fun as “UCCI.” If you haven’t heard this new track yet, find it on your preferred streaming service and check out the music video above.
