Quavo Dedicates New Solo Album “Rocket Power” To TakeOff

Quavo has yet another tribute planned for his late nephew. The rapper has revealed that his forthcoming solo album, Rocket Power, will be dedicated to TakeOff. During an Instagram Live on May 11, he played some new tracks from the album for fans. Quavo interrupted the stream briefly to check out the NFL’s season schedule drop but returned to continue playing the music. After the live stream, the rapper posted a picture of TakeOff on Instagram. There, he called him a “king” and used the rocket emoji that TakeOff had previously used to promote his own 2018 solo album, The Last Rocket.

TakeOff, Quavo’s nephew, was shot and killed in Houston, Texas, last November. The rapper has previously paid tribute to TakeOff on social media. He has now dedicated his upcoming solo project to him, as well. The album, Rocket Power, is Quavo’s first solo release since his 2018 album, QUAVO HUNCHO. The Migos member did not announce a release date for Rocket Power. However, he did teased plenty of new tracks during the Instagram Live, which has since been viewed by thousands of his fans.

Quavo’s Heartbreak Over TakeOff’s Untimely Death

On November 1, 2022, TakeOff was fatally shot outside a bowling alley in Houston. The rapper was 28 at the time of his death. According to police, he was an innocent bystander in the situation. He was caught in the crossfire of a dice game that Quavo and other men were involved in. After an altercation, the game quickly turned violent and resulted in a tragic shooting.

In January, Quavo released the single “Without You,” which he performed at the 2023 Grammy Awards with a photo of TakeOff displayed in the background. Later, the rapper dropped another tribute to his late nephew and collaborator called “Greatness.” This new solo project will Quavo’s first since his debut solo effort Quavo Huncho in 2018. That project featured guest appearances from Drake, 21 Savage, Saweetie, and others. The album debuted at No. 66 on the Billboard 200. Stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news on Quavo’s upcoming album, Rocket Power. Are you looking forward to new music from Quavo? Let us know in the comment section!

Quavo Speaks On The Best Gift He’s Ever Received

Quavo has been in the mix as of late. Since the loss of his fellow Migo and nephew Takeoff, he’s been quiet. However, the hook master has been dropping singles sparingly, with rumors of a new tape coming out. Along with that, Quavo recently starred in a new Peacock movie, Praise This. The film follows his co-star, singer Chlöe Bailey, who plays Sam, an aspiring musician who moves from LA to Atlanta after a run-in with the law. Additionally, she’s forced to join her cousin’s praise team before a national competition. Quavo stars as Ty, a well-known rapper in ATL.

Although the film has a slew of mixed reviews from critics, fans love it. With the film receiving a 50% critics rating and an 83% audience rating, there’s no debate there’s something to love about this film. Not only that, the feel-good film sparked dating rumors between the two co-stars. However, it has been confirmed that the two are indeed not dating. Almost a month since the movie’s release, we’re still seeing the pair out and about.

Quavo Reveals His GOAT Gift

Recently, the two appeared on Complex’s GOAT Talk series and gave their takes on different GOAT topics. Moreover, the pair got on the topic of GOAT gifts they’ve ever received, and Quavo gave quite the answer. “The best gift got to be my three-headed Migos chain from Takeoff,” the Migos rapper said. The chain was a birthday gift given to him by the late Migos member. It’s nice to see Quavo outside and in better spirits. Not only that, he also mentioned that Takeoff always gave him the best gifts, every birthday.

It’s been five months since we lost Takeoff. He was a critical piece to the Migos, as both Quavo and Offset have been on the outs well before his passing. However, Quavo has made it clear on his record “Greatness,” that the Migos are done. While that may be quite somber, losing a family member is even worse. How do you feel about the Migos being done? What’s one of your GOAT gifts? Let the HNHH crew know what you think in the comments section below!

Quavo Drops Hoodies Benefitting Takeoff’s Foundation

Quavo has just dropped a new line of hoodies that will benefit Takeoff’s foundation, The Rocket Foundation. This comes just one day after fans accused Quavo of shading Offset for getting a tribute tattoo of Takeoff. The rapper took to Instagram to post some pictures of himself on top of a plane. In the caption, he wrote, “Rocket Power… It’s In You, Not On You!” While that is extremely vague without context, fans saw it as a dig at Offset. Rocket power refers, of course, to Takeoff himself. Offset recently revealed that he got a huge tribute tattoo on his back for the late rapper, hence “it’s in you, not on you.” Whether or not the post was actually about the tattoo has not been confirmed.

Takeoff was just 28 years old when he was shot and killed in Houston, Texas. He was apparently present for a game of dice with his brother and fellow Migos member, Quavo. During the game, a heated argument broke out. Comedian Shawty Shawty spoke to the rapper’s cousins about the incident and provided more context. “Quavo dominates in a whole lot of things, basketball, all of this,” the comedian clarified “So, they say they had been shooting basketball earlier, and then they got to the bowling alley, and they said there was a dice game. And they say that Quavo noticed that the dice were not right, and that’s where the argument started.”

Many Are Paying Tribute To Takeoff

Although Quavo and Offset may have been in Migos with Takeoff, they are far from the only people in the industry paying tribute to the fallen star. Many of Takeoff’s friends and collaborators are taking the time to show love. Rich The Kid has done quite a bit in the way of paying tribute, both getting a tattoo for Takeoff and showing off a huge pendant featuring a picture of the late rapper. “Today I lost more than a brother. My twin, my best friend, everything. I don’t wanna believe it, I can’t,” Rich said of Takeoff. “The most humble person I know. We used to share shoes [and] clothes before we made it with no problem! I miss you already. You didn’t deserve that! I can’t stop crying. I love you so much bro, forever.

In addition to the hoodies, Quavo has also announced a fifth annual Huncho Day. Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, and several NFL players are set to appear. As with the hoodies, Quavo has announced that all proceeds from the event will go to benefit The Rocket Foundation. What do you think of Quavo’s efforts to pay tribute to Takeoff? Quavo Seemingly Disses Offset’s Takeoff Tattoo, Fans React

Quavo and Offset have been at odds over the last year or so. Overall, they were extremely close for many years. However, rumors involving Offset and Saweetie reportedly led to them having a falling out. Subsequently, Quavo and Takeoff remained as a duo, while Offset went off and did his own thing. In fact, Offset reportedly has a new album coming out. He has been teasing the project quite a bit, and fans are extremely excited to hear what it is about.

Despite the falling out with the group, Offset took Takeoff’s death extremely hard, which is obviously understandable. Takeoff’s passing was truly shocking, and Offset was never able to give his friend a proper goodbye. Although, he recently got to honor the man by dedicating his entire back to Takeoff. In a recent Instagram post, Offset unveiled his new backpiece tattoo, which is an intricate portrait of Takeoff. It was an incredible gesture that showcases his love for the man. Unfortunately, Quavo doesn’t seem to approve.

Quavo Takes To Instagram

In the Instagram post above, Quavo could be seen standing on top of a plane. In the caption to the post, he wrote “Rocket Power It’s In You, Not On You!” If you know anything about Takeoff, his solo album was called The Last Rocket. Moreover, Quavo plans on naming his album Rocket Power, which is a reference to the late rapper. Needless to say, you can see how fans are saying that this seems to be a not-so-subtle diss. “Offset tattoo diss,” one commenter wrote. “Disappointing and unnecessary caption unc,” said another.

“I hope this isn’t a subliminal message,” another commenter then added. “Set loves Take so it’s in him AND on him. You said you would ask yourself, “What would Take do?” Do you think he would be out here beefing with Set?” Needless to say, fans are not co-signing any of this. However, there is not much the fans can say to bring this beef to a close. Both sides have their own views on what went down. Although it is unfortunate, it is going to take a lot for both sides to mend it. Stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the hip-hop world.

Offset Sent A Heartfelt Thank You Message To Calvin Harris For His Tribute To Takeoff At Coachella

It’s been five months since the tragic murder of Takeoff (real name Kirsnick Khari Ball). The rapper was a pioneer voice in the Atlanta music scene, having had massive success as part of the hip-hop group the Migos. Before his untimely death, the musician had formed the duo Unc & Phew with his uncle Quavo (also a former member of the Migos). Musicians such as NBA Youngboy, former groupmates, and now electronic DJ Calvin Harris have all paid tribute to him.

During his set at Coachella in the desert on Saturday (April 15), Harris made a touching modification to his 2017 song “2017.” Initially, the track appeared on Harris’ album, Best Of 2017: Selected By DJ Shiba Berry, and featured guest appearances by the Migos and Frank Ocean. However, the version Harris played the unedited verse from the fallen Migos member.

Rapper Offset took to Instagram to send Calvin Harris a heartfelt thank you message for his tribute to Takeoff at Coachella. Reposting Harris’ performance video clip, he captioned it, “This so hard man. Thank you,” tagging Harris in the posting along with the rocketship emoji, a nod to his late cousin’s nickname.
