Takeoff’s Father Files $1M Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Takeoff's Solo Album 'The Last Rocket' Set for November Release

According to news reports, the father of late rapper Takeoff of the famed ATL trio Migos, has joined the $1 million wrongful death civil lawsuit against Houston’s 810 Billiards & Bowling.

Brant J. Stogner, the attorney for Takopff’s dad Kenneth Ball, announced that Mr. Ball is an Intervenor in the case, seeking compensation from the business where his son lost his life last year. Ball is suing for funeral expenses, psychological and psychiatric expenses, loss of advice, counsel, services, care, maintenance, and support.

Takeoff’s $26 million estate has become the center of this legal battle between his father and mother, Titiana Davenport. She previously filed a lawsuit against the Houston bowling alley, citing inadequate security and the owners’ knowledge of the establishments history of violent crimes prior to Takeoff’s murder.

Takeoff was shot and killed outside of 810 Billiards & Bowling last November. Patrick Xavier Clark, 33, was arrested and charged on Dec. 2, 2022 with the rapper’s murder.

[WATCH] J. Prince Responds To Offset: There’s Consequences When You F**k With Me

Last week, music mogul and the unofficial mayor of Houston, J. Prince, spoke on Takeoff and his relationship with Offset at the time of Takeoff’s untimely death on Gillie and Wallo’s A Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast. Offset contended that Prince’s opinions were offensive to Takeoff’s family, but the Rap-A-Lot mogul claims that Quavo and Takeoff’s family didn’t “really f*** with” Offset.

Prince took to IG today(February 8) to “warn” the Migos member, saying, “This clown Offset suffering from being a fake motherf**** disease. He wanna play victim now, but he was a volunteer when he spoke threats about me and my family name in his mouth about what he gonna do. ‘Why you didn’t call me to talk’ is the twist he wanna use. Tell lies in your woman ear, n****. I don’t have time to listen to weak s***. Now you wanna fake in front of a camera, trying to hide behind Takeoff’s mother when I’ve shown nothing but respect for her and [her] family. See, boy, you acting like you’re a part of a family that don’t really f*** with you because you’re a snake.”

Now you don’t know me from a can of paint. Let me see if I can refresh your memory,” Prince continued. “Remember we talked when you got your a** whooped in Atlanta? You forgot? Remember when you called upon me and I came to LA and met with you because you was nervous about your wife performing because she had them issues about using the word ‘flu’? You forgot? Remember when you and Sauce Walka was beefing and you wanted me to stamp that bulls***? You forgot that too? I can go on, but I think you remember now.”

Prince then added what he alleges is the “real reason” why Offset didn’t join Quavo’s tribute to Takeoff at the Grammy Awards, adding, “See this is the reason I say blood make you kin and loyalty make you family because of motherf****** like you that have stuck a knife in the back of the ones you call your brother. Explain since you’re a real a** n****. Explain to the people the real reason why you weren’t on that stage at the Grammys with Quavo, who you call your brother, for the tribute. You ain’t man enough to do that because you what we call a tender d*** n****. Takeoff, Quavo, and the family wasn’t f***** with you for a while before his passing and still don’t f*** with you because you a rattlesnake n****. Quavo been letting you make it because he gotta good heart. It’s consequences when you f*** with me. I don’t have no heart for no snake, and I give you what you ask for. And by the way, I don’t think I’m no John Gotti. That ain’t who I looked up to. It’s no secret who my OG is — the flag you perpetrate with. Homie, you better go do what you do best. Write some rhymes and quit playing gangsta. I don’t want no trouble, peace.”

[WATCH] J. Prince Disputes Claims That His Son Abandoned Takeoff’s Body After Shooting

After rumors began to circulate about Rap-A-Lot Records founder J. Prince’s alleged involvement in Takeoff’s murder and the mixed feelings surrounding the memorial he erected at the Houston bowling alley where the Migos member was killed, there have been claims that the music mogul’s son abandoned Takeoff’s body after the shooting, but Prince vehemently denies those allegations.

On a recent appearance on the Givin Them The Business podcast, Prince explained that the video which shows his son walking by Takeoff after the shooting was only a small part of what actually happened that night last November.

“You know one of the biggest lies that was told — he walked by TakeOff body as if he was heartless and didn’t care,” J. Prince said. “And in reality, Junior, my cousin Michael that’s here with me, they was there with TakeOff from the beginning to the end. Even when they walked by, they took three seconds of an hour and some situation when Mike and Junior was walking by.”

Prince added on, “He actually went in the restroom to wash blood off his hands [from] when he had reached up under TakeOff head to pick him up and his fingers went in it.”

With the senseless killing of Takeoff still in the minds of his friends and family, talk of Prince’s involvement continues to gain momentum, while his son unfollowed Quavo on social media after the shooting making the situation that much more sticky. J. Prince did not attend the slain rapper’s funeral, but he created a memorial consisting of hundreds of roses outside of 810 Billiards and Bowling.

The alleged murderer, Patrick Clark, was released on a $1 million bond after his arrest and will have to wear an ankle monitor and remain at his parents’ home in Houston. His trial is set to begin in March.

Takeoff’s Accused Murderer Claims His Innocence

Takeoff Releases Solo Song 'The Last Memory'

Last week it was reported that 33-year-old Patrick Xavier Clark had been arrested and charged for the murder of Takeoff in Houston on November 1st. Authorities claim following Takeoff’s murder, Clark had applied for an emergency passport, planned to flee the country to Mexico, and was arrested with a large amount of cash on him.

However, despite claims that he killed the former member of the Migos, Clark said in a brief court appearance on Monday, December 5th, that he is innocent. Clark’s attorney Letitia Quinones stated that her client is “nervous” and “scared” because “he’s being charged with something that he believes he’s innocent of, so how would anyone do in that type of circumstance?”

When asked whether her client knew Takeoff, Quinones said, “We really don’t want to go into the facts at this point.

“There is a lot of investigation that needs to be done,” she added. “So, we just ask that everyone keep an open mind and let the system do its part and let the Constitution do its part and that is, right now he’s innocent until he’s proven guilty.”

Clark is currently being held on a $2 million bond.

Clark’s arrest makes the second in the case. Last month, 16-year-old Cameron Joshua, also known as Lil Cam, was arrested after surveillance footage found him brandishing a gun at the crime scene. However, prosecutors don’t believe that he was the shooter, and Cam was charged with felony unlawful weapon carry.

Stay tuned for more updates.
