T-Pain Explains Why He’d Date A Stripper Over A Bartender

T-Pain recently appeared on Cam Kirk’s Studio Sessions where he provided insight into his biggest records and dating a stripper.

Pain most famously sang about falling in love with a stripper on his 2005 hit single. Two years later, he released “Bartender,” a song detailing how he caught feelings for a woman serving him drinks after a breakup. T-Pain clearly has a thing for women in the service industry but if he had to pick between the two, he’d choose the stripper.

“I would rather date a stripper than a bartender. Strippers are fucking crazy. All of them. You gotta be kind of crazy to be a stripper,” he said. “You could say you’re doing it for school — you’re crazy.”

“Males strippers too. N***as is crazy. Bro, you got to be crazy to do that shit. Can’t have a bunch of strangers tugging at your shit, my n***a,” he continued before theorizing what he’d be like as a stripper. “Throw on that new Drake, n***a, I’m out of there.”

Pain also described Akon’s rejection as a blessing in disguise. T-Pain wrote “I’m Sprung” with Akon in mind. But when the Akon rejected the demo, Pain began testing the waters in the clubs of Tallahassee.

“I had given up and became a writer for Konvict Music. I wasn’t really trying to be an artist anymore because it was too hard and I figured why not just go write songs for somebody that’s already famous?” He explained. “So, I wrote ‘I’m Sprung’ for Akon, Akon didn’t like it. I still liked the song so I took it to the club in Tallahasse. That DJ that played it passed it around a few times. I heard it on the radio and here we are.”

Boosie Responds To T-Pain’s 2Pac Lyricism Comments: “The Lyrics Don’t Touch Your Heart”

T-Pain recently provided one of the biggest hot takes of the year in a recent interview with DJ Akademiks. The “I’m Sprung” artist said that if 2Pac were alive today, he would have gotten “ate the f*ck up” by todays rappers, and probably would have gotten killed sooner because of social media.

“‘Pac would’ve gotten killed sooner [if social media existed] and he would’ve gotten his ass ate the f*ck up lyrically,” T-Pain said. “Lyricism-wise, ‘Pac would’ve got ridiculously murdered. Bro, ‘Pac was a crazy lyricist in our time because ain’t nobody else have no platform.”

After Pain’s comments went viral, Boosie caught wind of the remarks and decided to take to Twitter to refute the controversial takes.

“2Pac was a great lyricist ‼U probably wouldn’t understand him if u never been through the struggles that this world brings‼ @TPAIN I disagree ✅the lyrics n songs these days last a couple years n there gone because they don’t have meaning .The lyrics don’t touch your heart,” Boosie tweeted.

Boosie went on to say that if Pac was still alive, rappers and other critics would think twice before trying to slander his name or disrespect him. “I dont like when y’all sh*t on 2Pac. If he was living YALL wouldn’t step r talk about PAC n them death row n*ggas.”

Boosie then wondered why Pac’s music still hits even nearly 30 years later while people’s other favorite rappers music does not. “Why PAC music still hittin n yo favorite lyricist Not?” Boosie tweeted.

T-Pain has not responded to Boosie’s comments.

T-Pain Claims That He Was “Drake Before Drake” Because Of His “Simp” Anthems

Drake might not have been the first rapper to not be afraid to show his “softer” side on a track. Songs like LL Cool J’s “I Need Love,” and albums like Kanye’s 808s & Heartbreak set Drake up to help him become the artist he is today.

In a recent interview with DJ Akademiks, T-Pain took a little bit of credit for Drake’s career, saying that he was “Drake before Drake” because of his “simp” anthems.

T-Pain first spoke on how he was looked at as “corny” for wanting to sing about love in an era where the “gangsta” persona was more popular.

“I’ve been a real corny n*gga and I love that sh*t because that means I’m not doing the same sh*t as everybody else,” he said. “I’m not camping out in front of these f*cking stores for the same shoes as you n*ggas. I’m not doing this dumb sh*t that’s gonna make me cool to all you n*ggas that’s tryna be the same as each other. I don’t want to do that shit. I’ve been corny from the beginning of my life.”

He went on to say how his hit song “I’m Spring” is about him falling for a woman, before saying that he’s “always been that corny n*gga” and calling himself “Drake before Drake.”

“‘I’m Sprung’ is about falling for a b*tch, being that corny n*gga falling for a b*tch,” he said. “I’ve always been that corny n*gga. I’ve always been the simp n*gga. I was Drake before Drake, n*gga! I was in love before n*ggas was really cool with being in love with b*tches.”

You can watch the nearly hour-long interview below. The conversation starts around the 6:40 mark.

T-Pain Says 2Pac Would Have Gotten “Ate The F*ck Up Lyrically” If He Were Still Alive Today

T-Pain Reveals He Was Depressed For Four Years After Usher Told Him He 'F*cked Up Music'

It’s a long-running debate whether many of the rappers of the 90s would be able to compete with today’s rappers. While many hold the 90s rappers in high regard compared to today’s rappers, some say otherwise.

In a recent interview with DJ Akademiks, T-Pain believes the latter. In the interview he says that had 2Pac survived his 1996 shooting, he would have gotten his “ass ate the f*ck up lyrically” by rappers today and probably would have been killed sooner.

“‘Pac would’ve gotten killed sooner [if social media existed] and he would’ve gotten his ass ate the f*ck up lyrically,” T-Pain said. “Whoa, whoa, whoa. What!?” Akademiks said, heavily disagreeing with T-Pain’s comments, taking for example drill rappers who don’t rely on lyricism as much. T-Pain continued, saying that the reason 2Pac was considered a great lyricist was because nobody else had a “platform” back then. “Lyricism-wise, ‘Pac would’ve got ridiculously murdered. Bro, ‘Pac was a crazy lyricist in our time because ain’t nobody else have no platform.”

“If the platforms would’ve been what they are now, ‘Pac would’ve been ate the fuck up […] I’m just saying what we look at as ‘Pac’s greatest lyrics right is peanuts to what we hear today,” Pain added.

Akademiks went on to say that Pac was a “full poet” to which T-Pain agreed, but said that if social media was around during Pac’s time, more people would have been able to share their opinion and probably would not have called the late rapper a great lyricist.

“‘Pac is a full f*cking poet. Pac was — if not the — one of the greatest lyricist at the time, but if we would’ve had social media back then and everybody would’ve been able to have their opinion, there would’ve been way the f*ck more disrespectful n*ggas at the time. They would’ve been dying to be more disrespectful to ‘Pac.”

Apparently age would have been a factor and according to T-Pain, people would have discredited Pac if he was still alive and in his 50’s talking about the same things he talked about when he was younger.

“If ‘Pac was alive right now, they would’ve discredited everything he said just because he was old. That’s it. He would’ve been saying the same thing as the young n*ggas, but it would’ve been less credit ’cause he’s old. If ‘Pac was alive right now, over 20 years later, and he would’ve been talking that same sh*t that he’d been talking from the beginning, but somebody younger would’ve came and talked that sh*t a little more disrespectful would’ve stepped on somebody’s grave and that would’ve been the new n*gga and then all of a sudden, 2Pac would’ve been out of style.”

You can watch the full interview here. T-Pain’s comments come at the 2:32:00 mark.

T-Pain Tears Up As He Is Given His Own Day in Wisconsin

t pain up dlc tour canceled poor ticket sales

T-Pain held his first “Wiscansin Fest” in Milwaukee, Wisconsin over the weekend. The festival is a nod to one of his more creative and memorable lines where he rhymed “Aspen” and “mansion” with the state of Wisconsin, instead, saying “Wiscansin.” 15 years after the hit song, the line remains memorable to this day and the artist was officially recognized by the state of Wisconsin while on stage at the festival.

During his set, state representative Kalan Haywood surprised the “rapper ternt sanga” on stage with a proclamation regarding June 11 as “T-Pain Day” in the state of Wisconsin. T-Pain even got a plaque and teared up and fell to his knees while he received it.

The official Wiscansin Fest Instagram page shared a post of the special event, with a caption that read:

“The Mayor of Milwaukee, @cavalierformilwaukee has proclaimed June 11th as ‘T-Pain Day’ to be celebrated annually throughout the state,” read the caption. “State rep @kalanhaywoodwi surprised @tpain on stage at #WiscansinFest to present him with a proclamation from the state office.”

“The proclamation recognizes ‘Wiscansin Fest’ as an annual event acknowledged by the state of Wisconsin. Thank you @cityofmilwaukee and the entire state of Wisconsin for this incredible honor.”

Aside from T-Pain receiving his own day during the festival, concertgoers enjoyed performances from Lil Jon, Bleu, Erica Banks, Kid Ink, Hannibal Burress and others.
