Ice Spice recently had a ball at the Super Bowl on Sunday (February 11) with her good pal Taylor Swift. However, just like with so many other artists right now, she couldn’t have a good time in peace without facing some satanist accusations. Moreover, conspiracy theorists think that the “Deli” hitmaker displayed satanic hand signs at the event. Particularly, she apparently did some devil horns signs and then grabbed onto her upside-down cross, which some took as an overt sign of satanic worship. Of course, these are mostly more conservative or religious circles talking about this, or ones who just want an excuse to hate on the Bronx rapper.

In fact, it seems like a lot of times artists face claims like these, it’s for pretty innocuous things that are more of a reflection of religious imagery being repurposed for other reasons in pop culture and the media. That hand sign is the same symbol you’d put up during a rock or metal show, for example. In other cultures, it doesn’t have a relation to the devil at all, so folks are probably just exaggerating. If that’s how Ice Spice wants to act now that her newest single “Think U The S**t (Fart)” is her highest-charting single so far, then so be it. That doesn’t make reflect any sympathy for the devil.

In case you didn’t know, Usher was in Las Vegas this weekend. The R&B legend took one of the biggest stages in music on Sunday when he performed during the Super Bowl halftime show. He unpacked a series of hits during a 13-minute show right in the middle of an exciting football game. After his performance the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers played an exciting second half that even went into overtime. Chiefs fans and Swifties alike celebrated when the team scored an overtime touchdown to win the game.

But Usher himself had a pretty busy weekend. It started off with the release of his new album Coming Home on Friday. The project represented his first new release since 2018 and his first new solo project since 2016. He’s also taking it on tour later this year and has been dropping more and more tour dates throughout the weekend. Unfortunately for fans trying to get a hold of tickets, Ticketmaster seemingly had a rough time handling the drop. Fans were met with long queues, sold out tickets, and exorbitant prices while trying to secure their spot to see the “Yeah” hitmaker. Despite his busy schedule, he managed to find some time to get himself a marriage license.

Offset Loses His $1 Million Super Bowl Bet On The 49ers

Over the weekend one of the most exciting Super Bowl’s in recent years took place. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs outlasted the San Francisco 49ers in an overtime thriller. The big game took place in Las Vegas this year and saw the NFL leaning further into the world of sports betting than ever before. That included some major wages from a few notable high rollers. One of the biggest bags dropped on the big game came from Offset.

Video of the rapper showing up to the Super Bowl made the rounds online in the middle of the game. In the clip, he’s rolling up to the stadium in style where he reveals that he’s dropped a million dollars on a bet. Shortly after he shares that he placed his bet on the 49ers. When the video first made its way to the internet San Francisco was winning which led some fans to congratulate him on a good start. Last month, Offset shared some pretty special news. In the wake of his new album SET IT OFF that dropped last year, he’s taking off on his first ever solo tour. The 17-date series of shows will begin in March and stop at many of the biggest cities in America.

The tour will wrap up with a hometown Atlanta show on April 10. The tour announcement doesn’t confirm any opening act and tickets for the show are already on sale. Cardi B revealed that she was rooting for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce ahead of the Super Bowl on Sunday. She discussed the couple in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter ahead of kickoff. She also spoke about her excitement for Usher’s Halftime Show performance and hinted at wanting to take the stage sometime in the future.

“I think it’s cute,” Cardi said of Swift dating Travis Kelce as well as the media coverage around their relationship. “She looks so happy. As for Usher’s set, Cardi said: “I’m not going to say [it’s way overdue] because everything is always on great timing. He came right on time and I’m so excited. He has come back stronger than ever and boom. My choreographer has worked with Usher before and he said that he is very strict [and] takes his routine seriously, and that’s why I feel like his shows are so amazing.” She also added that she’d be interested in performing at the Super Bowl in the future. Usher’s Super Bowl halftime show was a treat to witness last night (February 11), and a lot of people showed out for it. Whether it was other celebrities or legions of fans, it seemed like everyone had something great to say about the spectacle. Not only that, but it seems like folks from his past also showed up to support him, including his ex-wife Tameka Foster. She posted a video of herself at the event on her social media, and an Instagram Story clip even seemingly shows her with another partner there. As such, it was a pretty wholesome and heartening thing to witness, as we’d much rather see supportive divorces than toxic relationships.

Furthermore, Usher and Tameka Foster were married from 2007 to 2009, and a lot of ink’s been spilled on their fling from both parties and even spectators. They had a lot of ups and downs, including cheating claims and other issues, but it seems like they’re in a better place right now. Also, enough time has passed to make their relationship easier to digest in hindsight, so a lot of that discussion wasn’t as toxic as it could’ve been at the split’s inception. Not even romantic baggage can contain one’s excitement from a show from such an amazing performer.

Stars who perform the Super Bowl Halftime Show are usually given a budget with which to stage the show so they aren’t coming out of pocket, but they also don’t get a check at the end of the night (or up front) as they would for a normal concert.

So, why do they do it? Because, simply put, it’s an opportunity to get their faces and work in front of the biggest television audience in pop culture today. For instance, going into this show, some fans were actively questioning whether Usher was someone who should be doing the Super Bowl, wondering if he was “big enough” for TV’s biggest moment.

Now, after the performance, not only have those skeptics largely been converted, but many of them will also be checking out Usher’s catalog, or checking for him in the future. To paraphrase Shaq: They weren’t familiar with his game, but they are now.

In the past, stars have seen enormous streaming increases as curious viewers do their research, including Dr. Dre, Rihanna, and even Spongebob Squarepants. So, even if Usher didn’t get paid, it’s still extremely worth it, as those streaming bumps can result in big payouts when those royalty checks roll in. The Super Bowl is one time that getting paid in exposure is worth just as much as a check.

If you remember some of the wildest gossip from 2023, you may recall an alleged brawl that went down between Chris Brown and Usher at the former’s 34th birthday party. Moreover, this allegedly stemmed from the latter trying to calm Brown down after disrespecting Teyana Taylor, although the actual details are quite muddy. Afterwards, Breezy performed at the Dallas native’s Lovers & Friends festival as planned, so it seems like things weren’t that serious or true to begin with. Now, we have another piece of evidence that gives credence to that idea. It’s in the form of a simple fire emoji that the “Beautiful People” singer posted on his Instagram Story, tagging the Confessions legend in it.

Of course, this is likely in reference to Usher’s Super Bowl halftime show last night (Sunday, February 11). While it wasn’t an absolutely uncontested hit in many’s eyes, the public consensus seems to be a pretty enthusiastic thumbs-up. Yet this reopens the conversation about alleged beef with Chris Brown, even though it’s been almost a year since their supposed altercation. We know that the two still hold a lot of respect for each other as artists and performers, so maybe this was all just a big misunderstanding.
