Another Super Bowl Sunday has come and gone, but as per usual, the media isn’t done discussing everything that went down on the field, in the stands, and online this past weekend. At the game itself, Usher crushed his Halftime show with help from Alicia Keys, H.E.R., and others. Meanwhile, Travis Kelce had all eyes on him – not only thanks to his relationship with Taylor Swift but also due to the iron-tight grip he had on Andy Reid’s arm during a particularly tense moment between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. On the internet, it’s Erykah Badu who had fans cutting up over her comments on the big game.

“Perfect day to cheat with a soft dude,” the 52-year-old remarked on Twitter/x, earning upwards of 25K likes. “Men gone be watchin’ football,” Badu further noted of her reason for promoting infidelity. Longtime fans of the genre-bending performer know that she has a great sense of humour and loves to show that side of herself on social media, but of course, at least one user was offended by the joke.

Shaquille O’Neal remarked that Ice Spice is “so damn fine” after posing for a picture with the rapper and her “Karma” collaborator, Taylor Swift. The group of celebrities were all present at the Super Bowl on Sunday. In the caption of his post, the NBA legend thanked Swift for introducing the two. “And @icespice is so dam fine thanks @taylorswift,” he remarked.

In response to the post, fans trolled Shaq for thirsting over Ice Spice. “The last thing I’d expect on my page is Shaq saying ice spice is fine,” one user commented. Another joked: “bro ain’t have no hesitation in that caption.” One user noted the age difference between the two. “Yo bro, is her being the same age as his kids not cr*zy? Taylor Swift and Ice Spice are two people who come from very different musical backgrounds. However, they have become good friends over the last year or so. Taylor got Spice to feature on the remix of her song “Karma.” Furthermore, Ice Spice got to perform at the Era’s Tour which was a huge look for her. At the Grammys, the two spent quite a bit of time together and it was all very cute. Subsequently, on Sunday, they linked up for the Super Bowl and it was all very special.

Ice Spice got to watch Taylor’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, bring home the Lombardi trophy. Overall, the game was extremely close and ended up going to overtime. The Chiefs scored a touchdown thanks to Patrick Mahomes and Mecole Hardman, which ultimately ended the game. Spice and Taylor were extremely excited and it made for a great moment. Although as it turns out, Taylor and Spice also got to meet some massive celebs at the game. For instance, the two ran into Shaq and made sure to get a picture.

Although many were skeptical that the Chiefs could pull it off, they did so in a big way. It was one of the most entertaining finishes to a Super Bowl in recent memory, and fans loved every bit of it. However, there are some interesting narratives coming out of this Super Bowl that have fans curious about whether or not they are true.

One such narrative was espoused by former NFL star Brandon Marshall. While on the Paper Route Show, Marshall claims to have inside information on what went down in front of Taylor’s booth. As he explains, Kanye West bought a ticket that would put him in front of her booth. Therefore, he would be on camera with her throughout the evening. As Marshall explains, Swift didn’t like this and made some calls. Subsequently, Kanye allegedly got kicked out.

“He’s got a mask on with his logo on the mask — typical Kanye,” Marshall said. “Taylor Swift gets pissed off, she boom boom makes a call or two. Everybody’s involved. He gets kicked out the stadium! He was trying to leverage her celebrity … That’s what he tried to do; he tried to sit in front of Taylor Swift.” The issue with this allegation is that Ye was very much in the stadium for most of the evening. In fact, he was in his own box with Ty Dolla Sign and Anderson .Paak. Not to mention, if this actually happened, Ye would be the first to say something about it. Needless to say, the authenticity of the report is questionable.

Usher Delivers Stellar Super Bowl Halftime Performance with Many Guest Appearances

The numbers on Usher’s Super Bowl halftime performance are in. According to Forbes, Usher’s performance pulled in 30.1 million households, a 5% jump from the 2023 Rihanna halftime show. Samba TV provided the data.

“Following Apple Music’s first successful halftime show last year, it found success with fans yet again with an impressive 30.1 million viewers, exceeding last year’s Rhianna-led show Overall, the halftime show drew in 5% more viewers than last year,” said Ashwin Navin, co-founder and CEO of Samba TV.

The Usher moment we all have waited on delivered. The R&B icon took the Super Bowl LVIII stage, bringing in Alicia Keys, H.E.R., Jermaine Dupri, Ludacris, Lil Jon, and Will.i.am. for guest appearances.

During his set, Usher performed everything from “Caught Up” to “Love in This Club” to “U Got It Bad” during his 15-minute set. Also present were men of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and the Good Time Brass Band.

Users Online Are Calling Out The NFL For Allegedly Editing Alicia Keys’ Vocals From The Super Bowl Halftime Show

Although the Kansas City Chiefs managed to pull in the historic victory in overtime, Super Bowl LVIII was painstakingly lackluster. Thankfully, the same cannot be said of Usher’s record-setting Halftime Show performance.

The “Ruin” singer’s rollerskating set not only featured some of his biggest hits (view the full setlist here) but also a few of his notable collaborators. Lil Jon, HER, Ludacris, and Alicia Keys headed to Las Vegas to join the fun. Today (February 12), users went back to rewatch the clip on the NFL’s official YouTube but quickly noticed a slight modification.

According to viewers, Keys’ vocal slip-up while opening with her 2003 song “If I Ain’t Got You” had been edited. Now, folks are calling out the NFL for allegedly correcting the vocal crack as a professional courtesy to Keys.

“Alicia Keys said, ‘Sike.’ Lol. Mandela effect happening right before our eyes,” joked one user.

“The way they fixed her vocals before uploading this on YouTube, LOL,” wrote one user.

“No way they fixed Alicia Keys’ voice online 💀💀,” said another.

“It be the non-music mfs on here like, ‘Alicia started in the wrong key.’ 😂😂😂 Terminology all wrong. She just cracked, babe😭,” penned another.

That isn’t the only thing users are up in arms with from Keys’ cameo. When Usher embraced Keys during their debut of “My Boo,” viewers began tagging her husband, producer Swizz Beatz demanding that he have a word with Usher. However, he laughed it off as the unbothered cool guy he’s always proven to be.

Alicia Keys hasn’t issued a response to the audio scrubbing. She’s probably just as unfazed as Swizz.

There’s A Reason One Of The Sets In Beyonce’s Super Bowl Ad Might Have Looked Familiar

As per usual, there were a ton of pricey ads during Sunday night’s Super Bowl telecast. Some were good! Some weren’t! One featured presidential candidate and Curb Your Enthusiasm cast member spouse Robert F. Kennedy Jr. being his weird self. And there was one Beyoncé did for Verizon, where she repeatedly tried to break the internet…only to do that for real by releasing new music. If one of the sets in the commercial seemed familiar, you’re not crazy.

Per Entertainment Weekly, early in the ad Beyoncé sends up her album and accompanying “visual album” Lemonade, taking her “Hold Up” dress and baseball bat to the suburbs, with her standing in front of an expensive McMansion by a lemonade stand (of course). That’s not just any home. It’s known as Colonial Street, and it can be found on the Universal Studios lot, where it’s played set to many a film and TV show.

One of those was Desperate Housewives. That’s right: Beyoncé relocated “Hold Up” to Wisteria Lane, where the titular ladies got into eight seasons of shenanigans.

Desperate Housewives is far from the only show that used Colonial Street. You can see it on The Munsters, Providence, Malcolm in the Middle, even Housewives alum Eva Longoria’s show Telenova. It’s also been used in movies like Deep Impact and the 1989 Tom Hanks satire The ‘Burbs.

So welcome, Beyoncé, to Colonial Street. You’re amongst august company indeed. Everyone else can visit the street at the Universal Studios Tour ride.

One of which was Coi Leray, who showed up in the barely there combination of ultra short jean shorts and a tiny white top. This became even more common once folks noticed that the NFL apparently tried to edit it out of their YouTube upload of the show.

As such, fans are now taking to social media to debate whether this is that serious, or if Alicia Keys deserves the criticism. There is such a thing as tough love, but the good intentions behind a lot of that fall flat when filtered through social media.
