Angel Reese Scores 19 In LSU Return

Angel Reese had 19 points and 9 rebounds in her first game back with LSU since November 14. Reese, who started and played 29 minutes, was instrumental in the 82-64 win over Virginia Tech. Meanwhile, Aneesah Morrow had a 19-point, 15-rebound double-double. The Hokies’ Georgia Amoore had a game-high 25 points in the loss.

“How happy are y’all to see me?” Reese greeted reporters after the game. While she did not say much about her absence, she did say that she was glad to be back. “It was a long two weeks to be away from the team. I’m just happy to be back and this place was amazing tonight,” Reese said. The game also marked Kim Mulkey‘s 700th coaching win, making her the fastest coach in both men’s and women’s NCAA history to hit that mark. “Angel is one of the best players I’ve coached. I’m just proud. I’m proud of how she handled herself. She’s back to the Angel everybody knows,” Mulkey said after the game.

Short-handed LSU Look To Persevere

LSU fielded just seven players against Virginia Tech as the early-season drama, as well as some brutal injuries, have begun to take their toll. Kateri Poole remains away from the team and did not make her return alongside Reese. Meanwhile, star sophomore Sa’Myah Smith was ruled out for the season after tearing her ACL, MCL, and right meniscus in the Cayman Islands. That leaves LSU with just 11 players to see out the season. Their December opponents have an average NET ranking of 273, meaning they will likely be little trouble for the 8-1 Tigers. It’s January that will start to cause problems if the Tigers remain short-handed and their stars stay on high workloads. Despite losing their entire starting lineup to graduation and the WNBA draft, South Carolina has re-emerged as one of the best teams in the country. They are 6-0, with half their wins coming against ranked opponents. The Tiger-Gamecocks matchup is currently set for January 25.

LeBron James Will Attend Bronny’s USC Debut, Even If He Has To Skip A Lakers Game

LeBron James has revealed that he plans to be at his son Bronny’s USC debut, even if it means skipping a Lakers game to do so. “Whenever he’s cleared and ready to have his first game, I already told my teammates that if they play on the same day we’re playing, I’m going to have to catch them the next game. Family over everything. But definitely got to see Bronny’s first game whenever he’s cleared and ready to go,” LeBron told reporters after the Lakers’ Thursday night loss to the Thunder.

Earlier this week, the James family announced that Bronny had received medical clearance to resume practice with USC “next week”. Furthermore, the family’s statement said that Bronny’s debut as a Trojan would come “soon after”. Of the Trojans’ next 10 games from December 11 onwards, four coincide with a Lakers’ fixture. If Bronny’s debut comes against Oregon State (December 30), Cal (January 3), Colorado (January 13), or Arizona (January 17), LeBron would be skipping a Lakers fixture. Of the four, only the matchup against Cal is a home fixture for USC. The Galen Center, USC’s home base, is a little over two miles from the Lakers’ Crypto.com Arena.

Bronny Set For Miraculous Return

LeBron James just said that if Bronny makes his USC debut on the same day the Lakers are playing, he’ll miss the Lakers game to attend Bronny’s game. He said he told his teammates on the flight over to OKC.

Bronny has missed USC’s first seven games, in which they have gone 5-2. The Trojans were upset by UC Irvine before losing to Oklahoma at the Rady Children’s Invitational. The Trojans’ next game features their first ranked opponent of the season – No. 11 Gonzaga. However, Bronny has made sure to remain around the team as the season got underway. Bronny made an appearance at the annual Trojan HoopLA but did not participate in the athletic festivities.

Despite this, Bronny’s return is nothing short of miraculous. Having suffered a cardiac arrest less than four months ago, many thought that he was going to miss significant time. Instead, much like Aaron Rodgers, Bronny is now expected to defy the odds and make an expedited return to the sport that he loves. Von Miller Surrenders To Police, Bond Set At $5000

Von Miller surrendered to police on Thursday afternoon after a warrant for his arrest was issued on Wednesday. Per TMZ, Miller was booked around 4pm Central on Thursday and released on bond soon after. According to ESPN, Miller’s bond was set at $5000. He had been wanted by police in Texas since late morning Wednesday after they responded to a “major disturbance call” concerning Miller and his pregnant partner. According to an affidavit, an argument about Miller’s partner’s travel plans had allegedly turned violent. Miller allegedly shoved her, pulled her hair, and placed his hands around her neck on two separate occasions.

Miller is currently on a bye week and returned to his home state of Texas during the time off from the Bills. Both the Bills and the NFL have since released statements, acknowledging the arrest and stating that they were investigating the allegations. Miller was previously investigated on similar accusations in Colorado in 2021. However, that inquiry did not lead to any sort of formal police intervention.

A court date has not reportedly been set for Miller at this time. As a result, his current status with the Bills is unknown. Buffalo is due to face the Chiefs on December 10. Whether Miller will be joining the team for that road game remains to be seen. He played 21 snaps in the Bills’ loss to the Eagles on Sunday. Miller, who signed a six-year deal with the Buffalo in 2022, continues to play limited snap counts as he rehabs from an ACL tear. Across eight games this season, Miller has recorded two total tackles.

Furthermore, it’s unknown if he will remain in Texas for the time being. The report of his assault by his alleged victim paints a disturbing picture. According to the alleged victim, Miller had demanded that she leave their shared apartment as a result of their argument. However, she claims that as she tried to collect her things, Miller repeatedly assaulted her and smashed her laptop. Miller himself is set to release any sort of statement regarding the matter and his current whereabouts are unknown. Miller and his alleged victim share two children together.

Indigenous Group “Condemns” Viral Chiefs Fan For Headdress And Face Paint

The Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians have condemned the behavior of a young boy who wore a ceremonial headdress and face paint to a Chiefs game last weekend. “We are aware that a young member of our community attended a Kansas City Chiefs game in a headdress and face paint in his way of supporting his favorite team. Please keep in mind that the decisions made by individuals or families in our community are their own and may not reflect the views of the broader tribal community. As a federally recognized tribe, the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians does not endorse wearing regalia as part of a costume or participating in any other type of cultural appropriation,” Chairman Kenneth Kahn said in a statement to Front Office Sports.

The boy, who has not been named in media reports, was spotted wearing a headdress as well as black-and-red face paint to the Chiefs win against the Raiders in Las Vegas. While it was initially erroneously reported that the child was doing blackface, a great deal of outrage has been leveled at the child. Furthermore, many have turned against the Chiefs, who have chosen to remain silent on the incident.

The players even loved it!” Shannon Armenta wrote on Meta, formerly Facebook, alongside several photos of her son. The Chiefs, who have done work in recent years to try and steer their fanbase away from harmful stereotypes of Indigenous Peoples, have not commented on the matter.

However, Elon Musk took to X, formerly Twitter, to take credit for fighting disinformation. Musk claimed X was responsible for helping fight “deception” in the story’s reporting. Despite this, many people ignored Musk’s bragging. X has come under fire in recent weeks for a number of issues, including helping spread misinformation about the conflict between Israel and Palestine.

Mikey Williams Pleads Guilty To Misdemeanor Offense

Highly touted basketball prospect Mikey Williams has pled guilty to a single misdemeanor offense. Prosecutors announced that Williams, who is a freshman at Memphis, will have his nine felony charges reduced to a single misdemeanor. However, he must meet a number of conditions by his sentencing date in August 2024. These conditions include the completion of 80 hours of community service and the completion of both gun safety and anger management courses. Furthermore, Williams is prohibited from owning a firearm for 10 years.

Prior to his plea deal, Williams was facing up to 28 years in prison if found guilty of the nine felonies he had been charged with. The charges stemmed from an incident in April. Williams reportedly discharged a firearm at a vehicle containing six people that was leaving his home in California. No one was injured by police came down on hard on the basketball star. However, the deal means that Williams only pleads guilty to one count of making criminal threats.

Does Mikey Williams Have A Future At Memphis?

However, the legal victory for Williams does little to change his status within the Memphis basketball program. While Williams attends online classes at the school, he is not permitted to engage in team basketball activities until his legal situation is resolved. As his plea is conditional, his status will remain unresolved until he is sentenced. Barring an unforeseen turn of events, this means that Williams will miss the entirety of the 2023-24 season. Furthermore, Memphis will likely wait until his sentencing hearing in August of next year to make a call about his future with the team.

However, even without Williams on the floor, Memphis has gotten off to a strong start to the season. They are 5-1, including major wins over Michigan and then-No. 20 Arkansas. Despite this, their unbeaten start was ended in the Battle 4 Atlantis Championship Game. A late rally by the Tigers was not enough to overcome Villanova. Memphis is next in action on Saturday. However, they have at least one more ranked matchup before the end of the year. On December 10, they take on Texas A&M, currently ranked at No. 14.

Conor McGregor’s Fourth Child Is A Baby Boy

Conor McGregor announced the birth of his fourth child earlier today. “My baby boy is born! Mammy and baby doing amazing, 8.1lbs of prime Irish double champion beef! ,” McGregor wrote on Instagram. Dee Devlin, McGregor’s long-time fiancee, gave birth this morning after McGregor announced she was in labor last night. The pregnancy was announced back in June, with the couple already sharing three kids – Conor Jr, Croia, and Rian. Later in the day, McGregor shared another update. “Another chunky healthy boy into the world. Dee, you are my hero ,” the MMA fighter wrote on social media.

McGregor and Devlin have been together since around 2008, which also marks the start of McGregor’s MMA career. The couple met at a nightclub in Dublin right before McGregor began to pursue his MMA dream. They got engaged in 2020 and plan to have a wedding in Ireland in the coming years. As for their other kids, McGregor has previously said that Conor Jr is already starting to perfect his MMA moves.

The birth comes amid speculation that McGregor is gearing up for his return to the UFC. In October, McGregor officially rejoined the USADA drug testing pool. Returning to the Octagon after two years battling a leg injury, McGregor had previously been reluctant to rejoin the pool. This led many people to believe that he had been using steroids during his rehabilitation. According to the UFC’s agreement with USADA, a fighter who rejoins the testing pool must remain in it for six months and pass two random tests before they can fight again. While appeals were made to eliminate the six-month waiting period for McGregor, the anti-doping agency held firm.

It’s unknown who McGregor’s first fight back will be against. Many assumed that it would be against Michael Chandler after the two went head-to-head on The Ultimate Fighter. Cristiano Ronaldo has been named in a $1 billion class-action lawsuit filed against the soccer star over his role in promoting NFTs for the embattled Binance cryptocurrency platform. The lawsuit, filed in Florida, claims that Ronaldo’s promotion of Binance was “deceptive and unlawful” and led people to make costly and unsafe investments. Ronaldo is just the latest celebrity to be sued over their endorsement of NFTs.

“Evidence now reveals that Binance’s fraud was only able to reach such heights through the offer and sale of unregistered securities, with the willing help and assistance of some of the wealthiest, powerful and recognized organizations and celebrities across the globe — just like Defendant Ronaldo,” the suit reads. Binance is currently under federal investigation for a litany of charges. In short, a years-long DoJ investigation has found that Binance and its top execs willfully ignored US law will knowingly allowing “bad actors” to use the crypto exchange. Charges include money laundering, operating an unlicensed money-transmitting business, and ignoring US sanctions.

Cristiano Ronaldo Could Be Lashed If He Returns To Iran

However, this is not the first legal trouble that Ronaldo has found himself in this year. In October, Ronaldo was reportedly sentenced to 99 lashings in Iran over adultery charges. Ronaldo was Iran in September for an Asian Champions League match. While there, he was seen hugging Iranian painter Fatima Hamimi after she gifted him two paintings. According to Iranian law, it is a criminal offense to touch another woman while in a relationship. However, some outlets have noted that he could be pardoned if he expresses remorse for his actions.

Despite this, Ronaldo is not currently scheduled to play in Iran for the rest of the season. However, the possibility does remain. Two Iranian teams can still qualify for the knockout rounds of the AFC Champions League. If Al-Nassr was to draw either Sepahan or Persepolis, they would have to play a game in Iran. However, Arsenal have one more match in the group stage. The Gunners travel to the Netherlands to face second-place PSV in mid-December. Furthermore, Arsenal currently sits at the top of the Premier League. A late goal at away against Brentford over the weekend moved them one point clear of Manchester City.

21 Savage Performs First London Concert

The visit to the Emirates served as the lead-in for what will be Savage’s first show in the English capital. Immigration issues over the last few years meant that Savage, despite being born in the UK, couldn’t leave the US. If he had, there would have been grounds to deport, and even potentially detain, him. However, Savage was finally able to secure his green card, allowing him to travel back to the UK and the wider expanse of Europe.

Mike Tyson Plane Fight Victim Asks For $450K in Pre-Litigation Settlement

Melvin Townsend, the man assaulted by Mike Tyson on an AirBlue flight last year, has demanded $450K from the boxer, according to pre-litigation documents. Townsend’s attorney, Jake Jondle, claims that the amount of money would cover Townsend’s legal and medical bills, as well as ending any legal claims against Tyson.

However, Tyson’s attorney has dismissed the demand as nothing more than a “shakedown”. “I have received a shakedown letter related to some instigator’s harassment of Mike a year ago and the aftermath. There will be no shakedown payment,” Alex Shapiro said. Tyson has long maintained that Townsend instigated the confrontation by throwing a water bottle at Tyson and “f-cking with me”, in Tyson’s own words. Furthermore, prosecutors declined to charge Tyson in relation to the incident. This remains a developing story and we’ll have any updates as they emerge.

Tyson typically keeps to himself nowadays. However, some of the moments from his podcast, Hotboxin’ With Mike, go viral. Back in May, Tony Yayo stopped by Mike Tyson’s podcast, Hotboxin’ with Mike. They discussed many topics, including the shooting of Yayo’s close friend 50 Cent. However, they also broached the topic of AI art.“Let me tell you how ill computers is takin’ over. You ever heard of AI music?” Yayo asked Tyson and his co-host DJ Whoo Kid. “Do me a favor: play ‘Many Men’ by 50 Cent, 2Pac and Biggie.” The AI-generated song, while not a perfect imitation of the three iconic rappers, was enough to shock the studio.

“That’s f-cked up, bruh,” Tyson commented before simply adding, “Woah.” Whoo also added a similar thought on the track. “Yo! This is crazy! This is insane. That don’t even make no sense.” While Yayo was impressed by the track, it shows the potential of what AI can do – bringing back dead artists. However, with that comes with concern as the industry grapples with the question of whether those artists, their memory, and their legacy, should be left alone.

The announcement came via a statement from the James family earlier today. “Bronny will have a final evaluation with USC staff this week, resume practice next week, and return to games soon after. As for the cardiac arrest that derailed the start of his college career, experts diagnosed it as a congenital heart defect. Bronny has reportedly undergone surgery to address the issue, which will need to be monitored for the rest of his life but is no longer a major concern. However, he is the second USC player in two years to suffer a preseason cardiac arrest.
