Big Sean Is On Point With New Single “Precision”

Big Sean’s career took a nice turn in 2020 with the release of Detroit 2, a sequel to his acclaimed mixtape. He was more focused and hungrier than ever before, placing some of his best rapping on that project. However, the prideful Detroit MC has been low-key since then. He did put Detroit and the deluxe version of the second installment on streaming, but there has not been anything separate from them.

Luckily though, Big Sean seems like he is back in album mode once again with the release of “Precision.” He is quickly capitalizing on the “Anderson Estate Freestyle” that was gaining lots of positive feedback on social media. Sean was bringing some bars over a late great J Dilla beat “Drop.” For this latest cut, FNZ, Zacari and others give the technically skilled rapper a nasty trap beat.

It was another solid entry for Kota the Friend and today he is back with a new single “PNW.”

This single is a delicate love story that sees Kota wanting to stick around with a love interest even through all of her changes. Another layer behind “PNW” or “Pacific Northwest,” is that this woman can be complicated just like the weather in the region. The final fun detail about this single is that it dropped March 19, which is also the first day of spring, a change in the seasons. The veteran posted this announcement on his Instagram moments ago and it is safe to say people are amped. 42 Dugg Drops Off Grim Single “Wock N Red”

If there is a rapper that embodies the city of Detroit, it is 42 Dugg. Sure, there are plenty of others, but his pit bull-like mentality in his music really drives that point home. The gravelly-voiced MC has been enjoying these last several months as a free man. He was serving a one-year sentence for failing to surrender himself in what was supposed to be a six-month bout after a 2020 federal gun investigation. One of the ways 42 Dugg has been relishing this time has been through dropping singles like “Wock N Red.”

This is now the 29-year-old’s third solo single and fourth total release following his time behind bars. That outlier is a feature appearance on a deluxe Sexyy Red track “Perfect Match,” which also saw G Herbo on it. Probably the biggest success for Dugg so far has been “SpinDatBac.” Part of the reason for that was because there a was a video that was making the rounds on social media.

He was seen in the studio with J. Cole playing the track for him and he was digging it. It has become a fan-favorite since its release in November, receiving 5.5 million views on YouTube. Ski Mask The Slump God has always been a fun, experimental, and hilarious figure in hip-hop. He is immensely talented and is someone you can count for some speedy flows and creative bars. There are not too many rappers like him, but unfortunately for fans, he just does not drop much. However, with Ski Mask’s new single “Shibuya,” hopefully this a sign that he is ready to release more material.

This in the Florida native’s first solo single since October 2022 with “OOGA BOOGA!” On that track Ski Mask sports an easy-going flow over a bouncy beat. Rumors had it that this was going to be a single for his eagerly-awaited sophomore album 11th Dimension. His debut, STOKELEY, dropped all the way back on November 30, 2018.

Trippie Redd Teases Forthcoming “LIFE’S A TRIP 2” With “LWRW”

Canton, Ohio multi-hyphenate Trippie Redd is certified hitmaker. We have seen it time and time again over the course of his prolific career. He is never afraid to experiment and has pretty impressive range in general. However, it seems some of that magic has been a little trickier to recapture over the last couple of years or so. While there are some quality tracks sprinkled throughout his past several releases, the consistency looks to have faltered.

Trippie Redd is looking to bring back that hype with a new single “LWRW.” It will take about a couple of weeks to see if this effort resonates. However, for us, it comes across as a little to repetitive. We never like saying any music is mediocre, but it just falls a little flat.

Homeboy Sandman Pens A Thoughtful Track About Relationships On “Do It Right”

Fans should be excited about this, as the talented lyricist is kicking everything off with a brand-new single. “Do It Right” is Homeboy Sandman’s follow up to his February 10 release “Real Good.” According to the press release, “[It] serves as a vibrant anthem, encouraging a mindful approach to love. Homeboy Sandman states, “[Do It Right] is a fun jam about trying to have the discipline to take relationships slowly as a precaution against backsliding into despicable behavior.” From what we know both tracks will appear on his upcoming LP, Year of the Dragon.

However, this is not where the hype train stops for the underrated rapper. Sandman’s team has also revealed that two other albums are on the way. Those will be Rich II and Rich III, and they were hinted at in the music video for “The Riches.” Lastly, the veteran will be hitting the road for a spring U.S. tour.

Maxo Kream Gives A Touching Tribute To His Father On “No Then You A H*e”

These past couple of weeks have had to be tough for Maxo Kream. The longtime Texas rapper recently lost his father, Emekwanem Biosah Sr., on Sunday February 25. He shared a sad but thankful post on his Instagram, appreciating everything he had taught him throughout their relationship. The rap community came out in droves to support the mourning Maxo and it was great to see them come together and reach out. After letting this settle, he had decided to return by dropping a tribute to his pops with a single. “No Then You A H*e” is a spectral-like track, but it is also beautiful at the same time.

Maxo raps, “Real street legend, to me you was my papa though / Heart attack, a couple stroke, blood pressure, dementia / Papa Maxo was a soldier and through me forever livin’.” “No Then You A H*e,” as we mentioned, has a haunting feeling but it fits the tone to a tee. With its very faint drums and choral-esque vocals, it helps you get lost in the lyrics in a good way.

However, this is not the only solid drop from Maxo Kream lately. He and rising star evilgiane have been cooking up some stuff in the studio. “Bang The Bus” was about what the title says, but it had some inventive production. Furthermore, tracks like “Whatchamacallit” and “Bonecrusher” were both fun collaborations with Luh Tyler and Key Glock, respectively. Hopefully, Maxo can keep this up and deliver an album soon.
