21 Savage Brings Out Summer Walker For “Prove It” On “SNL”

21 Savage brought out Summer Walker as part of his set on the most recent episode of Saturday Night Live. The pair performed “Prove It” during Savage’s set. Furthermore, the UK-born rapper also played his iconic hit “Redrum”. Did you catch 21’s performance? Let us know what you thought in the comments.

The episode proved to be a controversial one, primarily due to its host. Shane Gillis has found major success as a stand-up comedian over the past few years. However, his host spot on SNL was largely opposed by fans. Gillis briefly joined the show as a cast member in 2019 but was fired after allegedly making racist jokes behind the scenes. Gillis’ flat opening monologue only made tangential references to his infamy beyond an opening line of asking the audience not to Google him.

Fans Think 21 Savage & Adin Ross Faked Card Scandal To Promote SNL

However, fans are starting to question just how real the recent drama between 21 Savage and Adin Ross was following the announcement that the rapper was performing on SNL. Several fans questioned whether the claims that 21 used marked cards to scam hundreds of thousands of dollars out of Ross was simply a way to promote 21’s turn on the popular late-night show. 21’s appearance was overshadowed by the scandal with Ross, as well as the aforementioned issues with host Shane Gillis. This theorizing has resurfaced now that 21’s appearance has come and gone, despite a few weeks’ break between his announcement and his appearance.

Further evidence concerning the idea that it was faked came on 21’s own website. Days after the scandal, 21 started selling branded dice and cards as merch. The set of three d6 dice and a velvet bag costs $25 while a back of regulation playing cards costs $15. At the time of writing, the playing cards have already sold out. The new merch was released with very little fanfare but was clearly inspired by the ongoing scandal with Ross.

21 Savage made a much-anticipated appearance on screen tonight (February 24). No, not in the mythical movie that was said to accompany his American Dream album, but as the captivating musical guest on tonight’s Saturday Night Live. In his first performance, 21 delivered a fire set, featuring “Redrum” from American Dream.

The performance opened with a violinist playing an orchestral intro to the song. Ballet dancers move smoothly about the stage, as 21 emerges front and center. 21 maintains a natural stage presence, displaying his star power as he raps. But the visuals brought back an artistic element that has been missing within the mainstream landscape amid the content and streaming era. If this performance is proof of anything, it’s that 21 Savage is what hip-hop needs right now.

In a piece for Interview, 21 shared that he is having fun playing with fashions for his stage looks.

“Being able to perform is something I am always grateful for, I enjoyed showcasing more fashion looks while I’m on tour,” he said. “I kicked off my tour in Paris at Zenith and wore some looks by brands I like to work with Celine and Prada—I am looking forward to keep building my tour looks with some more amazing designers.”

Adin Ross Confirms 21 Savage Reimbursed Him After Marked Cards Scandal

Meanwhile, during a phone call with Kai Cenat, Adin Ross cleared the air about the ongoing situation with 21 Savage. First, Ross made it very clear that he did not blame 21 for using marked cards during their recent high-stakes gambling stream. Instead, Ross placed the blame on a member of Savage’s crew. Furthermore, Ross confirmed that since the stream, he had received a $250K payment from 21 to settle their debt. Cenat was simply happy that Ross, a close friend of his, had “got that bread”.

It appears the pair settled on $250K after a variety of numbers were thrown around following their stream. 21 initially promised to pay Ross $400K after the streamer discovered that the rapper’s crew had brought marked cards for their gambling stream. 21 denied any knowledge of the cards. However, he said he would honor his debt and pay Ross the full amount he owed. The rapper had been down $400K at one point in the stream before making a miraculous comeback, eventually cashing out with Ross owing him $120K.

‘SNL’ Weekend Update Dragged The MAGA Crowd For Being Inexplicably Mad At Taylor Swift (And Everybody And Everything)

Last week the conspiracy theory-loving wackos in MAGA hatched some next level nonsense: Taylor Swift is conspiring with the “deep state” to rig the Super Bowl and then somehow get Joe Biden re-elected. Makes sense, right? Or does it? MAGA’s latest doozy earned them a whole new level of mockery (while all but ensuring the GOP has lost the youth vote forever). Sure enough, SNL on Saturday gave this one prime real estate on Weekend Update.

After describing the Swift theory, co-anchor Colin Jost simply marveled at the sheer breadth of hate among the Trump crowd, which sounds exhausting.

“Man, MAGA people have so many enemies to keep track of,” Jost said. “You have to hate the NFL, Taylor Swift, Bud Light, Disney, Kristen Stewart for some reason, electric stoves, windmills, the concept of rainbows, and the green M&M.”

Jost then added, “And you have to think that everybody in the government is a secret pedophile except for this guy dancing with Jeffrey Epstein.” Who was “this guy”? Of course it was the famous clip of a beaming Donald Trump dancing with convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

“I mean, isn’t that the happiest you’ve ever seen Trump?” Jost noted. “He’s dancing like nobody is checking IDs.”

Elsewhere during the latest Weekend Update, Jost and Michael Che also dug in on Joe Biden, whose support among Black voters has slipped. “It’s getting so bad he now only has support from Obama’s white half,” Che joked.

Jennifer Lopez Debuted A New Song, ‘This Is Me…Now,’ In A Rosy Pink ‘SNL’ Performance

In her second performance of the night, Jennifer Lopez debuted new music on the Saturday Night Live stage. Ahead of her upcoming album, This Is Me…Now, Lopez premiered the album’s title track.

The song, which serves as the opener on This Is Me…Now, is downtempo ballad, on which, Lopez basks in the joy of her rekindled love with her now-husband, Ben Affleck.

“You met me halfway / Growing pains, broke some chains in every chapter / Now we know what it takes for our ever after / Took some lefts, now we’re right here where we are,” sings Lopez in the song’s opening verse.

Having made a loving reconnection, Lopez realizes that Affleck has helped her love herself even more.

“This is me now / And I took my time / Lot of winters summers baby / And I healed my heart / But I love who I am lately / This is me now,” sings Lopez on the song’s chorus.

While on stage, Lopez was dressed in pink roses, symbolizing a blissful new chapter — a brand new era of love and happiness, with the person she never stopped thinking about.

Ayo Edebiri Seemingly Addressed Her Resurfaced Comments About Jennifer Lopez During A Game Show Sketch On ‘SNL’

In the modern day of technology, many of us have learned the hard lesson that past posts and comments can come back to haunt us. Such was the case for Ayo Edebiri on tonight’s episode of Saturday Night Live.

During a sketch, Edebiri, along with SNL cast members Andrew Dismuskes and Chloe Fineman, play contestants competing on a game show called Why Did I Say That?, hosted by Kenan Thompson. During the game show, Thompson retrieved past comments left on people’s posts by the contestants. The comments range from sexually objectifying to threatening death. The rules of the game entailed each contestant explaining why they left such comments on the posts.

After being forced to revisit those comments, Edebiri’s character decided she had enough.

“We get it,” Edebiri said. “It’s wrong to leave mean comments, or post comments just for clout, or run your mouth on a podcast, and you don’t consider the impact because you’re 24 and stupid. But I think I speak for everyone when I say from now on, we’re gonna be a lot more thoughtful about what we post online.”

Perhaps Edebiri’s character is referring to a guest appearance she made on Laci Mosley’s Scam Goddess podcast back in 2020, during which, Edebiri alluded to rumors that Jennifer Lopez — who was tonight’s musical guest — uses ghost singers on her track.

“She thinks she’s on multiple tracks, but it’s not her,” Edebiri said at the time. “I think she thinks that she’s still good even though she’s not singing for most of these songs.”

Though tonight, it seemed that Lopez and Edebiri were both in good spirits. Perhaps they’ve put their differences aside?

You can watch the sketch above.
