‘SNL’ Weekend Update Dragged The MAGA Crowd For Being Inexplicably Mad At Taylor Swift (And Everybody And Everything)

Last week the conspiracy theory-loving wackos in MAGA hatched some next level nonsense: Taylor Swift is conspiring with the “deep state” to rig the Super Bowl and then somehow get Joe Biden re-elected. Makes sense, right? Or does it? MAGA’s latest doozy earned them a whole new level of mockery (while all but ensuring the GOP has lost the youth vote forever). Sure enough, SNL on Saturday gave this one prime real estate on Weekend Update.

After describing the Swift theory, co-anchor Colin Jost simply marveled at the sheer breadth of hate among the Trump crowd, which sounds exhausting.

“Man, MAGA people have so many enemies to keep track of,” Jost said. “You have to hate the NFL, Taylor Swift, Bud Light, Disney, Kristen Stewart for some reason, electric stoves, windmills, the concept of rainbows, and the green M&M.”

Jost then added, “And you have to think that everybody in the government is a secret pedophile except for this guy dancing with Jeffrey Epstein.” Who was “this guy”? Of course it was the famous clip of a beaming Donald Trump dancing with convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

“I mean, isn’t that the happiest you’ve ever seen Trump?” Jost noted. “He’s dancing like nobody is checking IDs.”

Elsewhere during the latest Weekend Update, Jost and Michael Che also dug in on Joe Biden, whose support among Black voters has slipped. “It’s getting so bad he now only has support from Obama’s white half,” Che joked.

Julia Stiles Showed Us She Can Still Nail Her ‘Save The Last Dance’ Choreography In A Surprise ‘SNL’ Appearance

It’s the season of giving, and tonight’s Weekend Update portion on Saturday Night Live was a special gift for millennials. During part of the weekly segment, SNL cast member Chloe Fineman offered some gift ideas “for that special someone.”

To the surprise of Weekend Update hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che, Fineman took to the front of the stage, as she needed the space to show off her dance moves.

“The perfect holiday gift this year is the dance that Julia Stiles does at the end of the 2001 dance movie, Save The Last Dance,” said Fineman.

Fineman then proceeds to deliver the movie’s iconic brand of “street ballet,” while talking about some of the movie’s bizarre plot points. Notably, about Stiles’ character getting a second chance to audition for Juilliard after bombing the first time.

“Her crush, Derek [played by Sean Patrick Thomas], skips a drive-by shooting to come support her,” says Fineman.

“So does she get into Juilliard?” asked Jost.

Seconds later, Stiles herself made a surprise appearance in the Weekend Update newsroom.

“Yes!,” replied Stiles, which prompted cheers from the audience.

Teaming up with Fineman, Stiles reminded us just how exactly her character, Sara, nailed her Juilliard audition.

Draymond Green Parodied On “SNL” After Rudy Gobert Incidnt

Pop culture juggernaut SNL used its most recent episode to address the biggest sports story of the week – Draymond Green choking out Rudy Gobert. Cast member Devon Walker donned a graying beard and Warriors hoodie to embody Green joining the Weekend Update desk. In the brief segment, Walker’s Green jokes about being enraged by the “7 foot baguette” that is Gobert while also addressing his history of on-court violence. “I strangle that trouble. I keep my teammates safe,” Walker argues. However, after WU host Michael Che asked about Green punching Jordan Poole, Green added Che to his “hit list”.

If you missed it, Green, Klay Thompson, and Jaden McDaniels were all ejected less than two minutes into Tuesday night’s in-season tournament matchup between the Warriors and Timberwolves. The brawl broke out after Thompson and McDaniels clashed in transition. McDaniels pulled on Thompson’s jersey while the latter contested for a long rebound and the pair remained tangled up amid the ensuing breakaway. The two proceeded to start fighting, leading to a game-stopping brawl. Amid the chaos, Green was seen putting Rudy Gobert in a headlock. Furthermore, Green was later hit with a five-game suspension for his actions.

Deion Sanders Approves Of SNL Impression

However, Draymond Green isn’t the only athlete to have gotten the SNL treatment this season. Deion Sanders expressed his approval of Kenan Thompson’s impression of him on a Weekend Update segment last month. “I’m a fan of Kenan, let’s get that straight. I love what he’s brought to comedy. I had the pleasure and honor to host Saturday Night Live before and I’ll never forget those moments,” Sanders said of the skit. As for Sanders’ SNL hosting gig, that came in February 1995, a couple weeks after he won Super Bowl 30 with the Niners.

Despite this, there’s not been much for Sanders to smile about over in Boulder. After a 3-0 start to the season, Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes are now 4-7 with one game left to play. They earned their fifth consecutive loss of the year this past Friday after Washington State steamrolled them 56-14. While many diehards will point to how Sanders turned a 1-11 team into a four-win team, it’s far from acceptable from the brightest star in college football. The Buffs close out the season against Utah in Salt Lake City next week.

Deion Sanders Approves Of Kenan Thompson’s “SNL” Impression

Deion Sanders has expressed his approval of Kenan Thompson’s impression of him on a recent episode of SNL. “I’m a fan of Kenan, let’s get that straight. I love what he’s brought to comedy. I had the pleasure and honor to host Saturday Night Live before and I’ll never forget those moments,” Sanders said of the skit at his press availability this week. Thompson brought Coach Prime to life in a Weekend Update segment that poked fun at Sanders’ larger-than-life personality. As for Sanders’ SNL hosting gig, that came in February 1995, a couple weeks after he won Super Bowl 30 with the Niners.

Sanders and the Buffs are back in action this weekend following their bye week. The 4-3 Buffs take on #23 5-2 UCLA, who have traded wins and losses for their last four games. The Bruins enter coming off a big 42-7 win over Stanford, a team that stunned Colorado two weeks ago. With five games and three ranked opponents left, every game is a must-win for Colorado if they want to stand a chance of playing in bowl season this year.

Sanders Wants To See Both His Sons On The Falcons

Elsewhere, Sanders recently expressed a desire to see both his sons, Shedeur and Shilo, drafted his first NFL team – the Falcons. Sanders made the suggestion while Falcons scout Rich Sanders was visiting Colorado earlier this month. “We ain’t coming back unless we bringing the Sanders boys to The A,” the scout was seen saying at Deion’s behest.

Of course, Deion spent the first five years of his NFL career as an electrifying presence for the Falcons (and Braves). Shedeur has been widely considered QB4 in the 2024 draft class after a white-hot start to his Colorado career. He has over 2400 yards through seven games for the Buffs. Meanwhile, it’s hard to say where Shilo, a safety, will fall in the draft. He has 36 tackles and an 80-yard pick-six on the season so far. Meanwhile, Atlanta’s current QB is Desmond Ridder, who is in his first year as a full-time starter. He has 1630 yards and a 6-6 touchdown-interception ratio through seven games. The Falcons are 4-3 so far this season.

Will Smith And Jada Pinkett Smith Roasted On SNL

In recent years, Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith have found themselves at the center of public scrutiny and jokes. This is partly due to Jada speaking out in various interviews regarding her relationship with her husband, Will. One of the most prominent platforms to weigh in on Jada Pinkett and her newly released memoir, Worthy, was Saturday Night Live (SNL). They featured a funny skit on their most recent episode. During SNL’s “Weekend Update” segment on October 21, Michael Che interviewed Ego Nwodim, who portrayed Jada Pinkett Smith. The skit delved into the topic of her book tour and the countless revelations she’s shared with the world since its promotion began. Nwodim, in character, humorously recalled a moment from her wedding, saying, “The day we got married, I knew there was going to be trouble. At our wedding, someone stood up and objected.”

Che, intrigued by this revelation, asked, “Who was the person that ‘objected’?” To which the fake Pinkett Smith responded “It was me. Yeah, it was me. Twenty-three years later, Will and I are still a unit. And it’s because we have learned that the secret to a successful marriage is never to go to bed happy.” However, despite the occasional rumors and speculations surrounding their marriage, both have maintained that divorce is not an option for them. Instead, they choose to confront their challenges head-on and navigate the complexities of their relationship. In the skit, Nwodim’s character humorously remarked, “If we got divorced, he could mess around and end up happy. And I can’t have that.”

SNL Pokes Fun At Will And Jada

This satirical comment encapsulates the essence of their relationship – a bond built on love, commitment, and a shared journey through life’s ups and downs. Moreover, Jada Pinkett Smith’s memoir, Worthy, has been an eye-opener for many, as it dives into her personal experiences and growth. In fact, the two are considering writing a book together now. In a world where celebrity relationships often face intense scrutiny and public opinion, the enduring love story of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith reminds us that relationships require effort, understanding, and a willingness to evolve together.

Their willingness to share their journey and vulnerabilities with the world, even in the face of humor, is a testament to their unwavering commitment. In conclusion, Jada Pinkett Smith’s recent appearance on SNL, although as a joke, showcases the way the world is watching things unfold between the two. In other news, Jada Pinkett Smith expressed her belief that if 2Pac had survived the 1996 shooting, he and Will Smith would have developed a strong friendship. She shared her thoughts on her connection with the late rapper in a recent interview with Jay Shetty on his podcast, On Purpose. During the interview she said she felt her and Tupac were soulmates. What are your thoughts on the SNL skit? Let us know on HNHH!

Pete Davidson Mentioned Kanye West And Ariana Grande During The ‘Weekend Update’ On ‘SNL’

Last night’s episode of Saturday Night Live was also the last ever for Pete Davidson. Before the episode aired, the comedian announced that he would not be returning for the show’s 48th season along with other cast members including Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, and Kyle Mooney. For his last appearance on SNL, Davidson went out with a bang. He conducted one last rap parody sketch, which was eventually interrupted by Eminem who asked demanded that he stop them. He also stopped by Weekend Update to deliver a sweet and self-deprecating farewell to SNL, but not without mentioning a couple of music names he’s been tied to.

Davidson sat with Weekend Update co-hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che and kicked things off by acknowledging the “millions of people only watching to see if I bring up Kanye.” This is of course in reference to his new relationship with Kim Kardashian following her divorce from Kanye West whom she was married to for seven years. Next, Davidson ran through some events that took place in his life during his time at SNL. One of them includes a phone call he made to SNL producer Lorne Michaels about his engagement to Ariana Grande.

“He always gives the best advice,” Davidson said. “I said, ‘Lorne, I just got engaged to Ariana Grande after dating for two weeks.’ He said, ‘Oh, hold on for dear life!’ It’s a true thing he said.”
