Jermaine Jackson Hit With Sexual Assault Lawsuit For Alleged 1988 Incident

Jermaine Jackson, brother of Michael and founding member of the Jackson 5, received a lawsuit for alleged sexual assault and battery, according to a Rolling Stone report. Moreover, the suit arrived on Wednesday (December 28) from Rita Barrett, who claims he assaulted her in her home in 1988 when he was around 34. According to this motion, Barrett connected with the artist when she was a music contractor and through Berry Gordy, her husband’s friend who founded Motown records and signed the Jackson 5 in 1968. In addition, it alleges that he arrived at Barrett’s home and, through actions of “force and violence,” led her to “fear for her life.”

Furthermore, Jermaine Jackson owns various companies that the plaintiff named in this lawsuit, including Jermaine L. Jackson Music Productions and Work Records. “[Barrett] suffered severe emotional, physical, and psychological injury, including humiliation, shame, guilt, economic loss, economic capacity, and permanent emotional distress,” the suit reportedly reads. As for the cause of Barrett’s motion, the indicated reason is “sexual assault, battery, sexual battery, and negligence,” and she seeks “unspecified damages” as compensation. It should be noted that this adds to the 69-year-old’s previous legal complications when it comes to relationships and partnerships.

Jermaine Jackson Accused Of Sexual Assault: Report

“Rita Barrett suffered an egregious and violent sexual assault,” her lawyer Jeff Anderson, told Rolling Stone. “This is about her power and the declaration of it when she learned [she could do] something under the law. She found the strength and support to find us and is now standing up for herself and others.” While Berry Gordy isn’t a defendant in this case, Barrett claims that when she reported Jermaine Jackson’s actions to him, he protected his artist for monetary reasons. Entertainment Tonight added that Jackson married to Gordy’s daughter Hazel in 1973, and that they split the year that this assault allegedly occurred. This lawsuit comes under California’s AB2777 Bill, which “temporarily waives the statute of limitations on some civil claims related to sexual misconduct.” Similar laws in New York prompted a lawsuit for similar crimes against the City’s Mayor, Eric Adams.

Meanwhile, Diddy also found himself in the middle of various accusations due to this extension. At press time, neither Jackson nor Gordy’s team have responded to these claims. Surely the coming weeks will illuminate the situation more. For more news and updates on Jermaine Jackson, keep checking in with HNHH.

Diddy Says He Needs More Time To Respond To Jane Doe’s Gang Rape Lawsuit

Diddy and his legal team have reportedly requested an additional three weeks to reply to a Jane Doe’s gang rape lawsuit. He says confidential circumstances beyond his control have made him unable to formulate an adequate response. His lawyer, Jonathan Davis, explained the request in a court filing obtained by AllHipHop.

“Due to circumstances beyond the control of the Combs Defendants, which circumstances are of a confidential nature, we respectfully request that the Court modify the Motion Schedule to extend Defendants’ time to file their opposition to the Motion from December 27, 2023 to January 17, 2024, and extend Plaintiff’s time to file a reply, if any, from January 8, 2024 to January 31, 2024,” Davis wrote.

The case stems from an alleged incident in 2003 at Diddy’s recording studio. Jane Doe says she met former Bad Boy Entertainment president Harve Pierre in Michigan when she was 17. Soon after, he forced her to perform oral sex on him while he did drugs. Pierre then flew her out to New York where she was gang-raped at the studio. Both Diddy and Pierre have challenged the victim’s right to remain anonymous. Her lawyer, Douglas H. Wigdor, has used her age at the time of the attack as well as Diddy and Pierre’s celebrity as reasons his client’s identity must remain private.

The various allegations against Diddy began with Cassie suing him, last month. The two reached a settlement within 24 hours, but several more alleged victims came forward afterward. Diddy finally broke his silence on the matter in a statement on social media, on December 6. “Enough is enough,” he wrote. “For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy. Sickening allegations have been made against me by Individuals looking for a quick payday.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Diddy on HotNewHipHop.

50 Cent Takes Yet Another Shot At Diddy With A.I. Generated Tupac Photo

A few months ago a man was finally arrested over the murder of Tupac Shakur more than 25 years ago. Because of his long-rumored vague association with the slaying, that opened Diddy up to some scrutiny online. Nobody was quicker to scrutinize the rap mogul than 50 Cent, who reignited a beef between the two. But if Diddy thought that was bad, he probably wasn’t ready for what followed.

Last month, singer Cassie filed a lawsuit against Diddy making some pretty serious allegations of abuse against the rapper. Though that case was settled relatively quickly it turned out to be just the first in a series of lawsuits. The very serious subject matter at hand did stop a lot of people from joking about the issue. But one person it hasn’t stopped is 50 Cent. 50 has gone on an unrelenting trolling campaign targeting Diddy with jokes, funny photoshops, and even a few genuine claims on his Instagram. In the best moments of his trolling campaign, he’s expressed interest in making a documentary about the allegations against Diddy with the proceeds going to sexual assault victims. He’s also claimed interest in taking on a role at Revolt following Diddy’s departure from the company in the way of the recent allegations. Check out his newest attack below.

50 Cent Going After Diddy Again

In his newest jab at Diddy, 50 Cent made use of new AI technology. He had an artificial intelligence create a photo of him and Tupac in a studio together taking a selfie. “Karma is a mother f*cker brother love, brother love, brother love,” 50 captioned the post, continuing to not be shy about who he’s taking aim at.

Throughout 2023 50 has been on The Final Lap tour with Busta Rhymes. The massive undertaking has seen 50 travel all around the world playing hype shows. What do you think of 50 Cent’s newest shots at Diddy? Do you think he should follow through on his promise to make a documentary about the allegations against the rap mogul? Takeoff’s Sexual Assault Accuser Wants His Mother To Replace Him As The Defendant In Her Lawsuit

Takeoff tragically passed away in November of 2022. But two years earlier the former Migos rapper was accused of sexual assault by an anonymous woman. In a lawsuit she filed, she claims that the rapper assaulted her at a party in Los Angeles. Her story details advances he made against her throughout the night before ultimately following her into a bedroom and forcing himself on her. The story is detailed and traumatizing but was obviously disrupted by the rapper’s untimely death last year.

Now, after months of legal ambiguity, the anonymous woman is making her next move. She asked the judge in the case if Takeoff’s mother, Titiana Davenport could be made the defendant in the case. Davenport is the acting administrator for the late rapper’s estate. As a result she manages the money he could have potentially owed himself if the court didn’t rule in his favor. A hearing was scheduled for February of next year to determine whether or not Davenport will be made the new defendant in the case.

Takeoff’s Mother Could Become The Defendant In His Assault Suit

In the comments of a new post recapping the case, fans are divided. As you’d expect many come to the late rapper’s defense. “Suing his mother for something her GROWN son might have allegedly done while alive.. the work of the Devil,” and “Wow that’s an all time LOW” two of the top comments on the post read. But elsewhere others debate more seriously on whether she should be allowed to seek some justice. “So he assaulted her and she suppose let it go cause he was in a rap group?” and “It’s so sad how y’all protect these rappers,” two other comments read.

Last month, both Quavo and Offset paid tribute to Takeoff on the one-year anniversary of his death. The two reunited on stage at the BET Awards earlier this year for a surprise performance. They also paid tribute to Take during that performance. Do you think Takeoff’s mother should replace him as the defendant in a sexual assault lawsuit filed against him in 2020? Let us know in the comment section below.

Recording Academy Says They’re “Evaluating” Whether To Invite Diddy

The Recording Academy has released a statement addressing the backlash to inviting Diddy to attend the upcoming Grammy Awards ceremony. The organization says that is “evaluating” whether the disgraced Bad Boy mogul will be in attendance. The decision comes in the wake of several alleged victims suing Diddy for sexual assault.

“We are taking this matter very seriously and we are in the process of evaluating it with the time and care that it deserves,” the Recording Academy said in its statement on Tuesday.

The statement comes after a report from The Mirror suggested that the situation is causing a “logistical nightmare” for the Grammys. In addition to numerous celebrities asking that the organization bar him from attending, the women’s rights group, UltraViolet, also argued against inviting Diddy. “We are deeply disturbed and concerned by the recent allegations of sexual abuse, sex trafficking of a minor and domestic violence made against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs over the past three weeks,” their statement reads. “The gravity of the allegations against Combs underscore the ongoing need for accountability — and that the #MeToo movement is relevant and badly needed more than ever.”

The accusations began with Cassie back in November. Diddy finally broke his silence on the lawsuits on Instagram, earlier this month. He wrote: “Enough is enough. For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy. Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.” Be on the lookout for further details on Diddy attending the Grammys on HotNewHipHop.

Takeoff Sexual Assault Lawsuit Persists, Mother Will Serve As Defendant

Takeoff’s loss was already a lot for his mother to deal with. Now she has to be involved with a separate lawsuit. Titiana Davenport, the caregiver of Kirsnick Ball, is going to be called to court to speak on his behalf for a sexual assault lawsuit back in 2020. According to AllHipHop, the paperwork was filed in August of that year at the Los Angeles Superior Court. A supposed night of hedonism turned sour for a woman who was at a party with Takeoff.

The night of the unwarranted sexual advances took place on June 23, 2020, at an Encino home. According to the lawsuit, the woman claims that the late rapper took quite a few chances to force himself onto her. She explicitly was not interested. But, when they got into a bedroom, that is when Takeoff was supposedly successful. The Georgia artist denied any of his actions.

Now, this evening is being brought back to light. Since Takeoff cannot appear in court, Titiana will replace him. There has been no information on when she will be making her up to the courthouse yet. On top of this, Titiana is still awaiting an answer on the lawsuit she filed against the bowling alley where her son was murdered.

What are your initial thoughts on these latest developments in the sexual assault charges involving Takeoff? Since his mother is seemingly going to act as a defendant, how do you think this will play out? Is the woman who is making these allegations in the wrong, or in the right for still pursuing these original charges, why or why not? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Diddy Loses Ties With 18 Brands Amid Sexual Abuse Allegations

Diddy has lost the support of at least 18 brands associated with his e-commerce platform Empower Global, according to a new report from Rolling Stone. The fallout comes as a result of Cassie and now a total of three other women accusing him of sexual assault. While the Bad Boy mogul has denied the allegations, he’s still suffering a massive fall from grace.

House of Takura Founder Annette Njau explained her decision to cut ties with Diddy in a statement provided to Rolling Stone. “This decision was made on the day that Casandra Ventura filed her lawsuit,” Njau told the publication. “We take the allegations against Mr. Combs very seriously and find such behavior abhorrent and intolerable. We believe in victims’ rights, and support victims in speaking their truth, even against the most powerful of people.”

Ashli Goudelock, founder of the luxury skin-care brand, Tsuri, said: “As a women-owned and-led company, we do not and will not linger in a gray area about the mistreatment of women.” Despite the lost partnerships, a total of nine brands appear to be sticking with Diddy through the storm. One owner from that group told Rolling Stone: “Please leave that man alone.”

Harve Pierre, Codefendant, Calls Diddy Lawsuits “Disgusting” & “Desperate”

Diddy isn’t the only one facing harrowing accusations in the multiple sexual assault lawsuits filed against him. Moreover, some of these alleged victims also accused other members of his entourage or the Bad Boy crew of similar crimes, including the label’s former president Harve Pierre. For those unaware, one lawsuit claims that he enticed a Detroit minor to board their private jet in 2003 to hang out with him and Sean Combs, and that they flew to New York City for a recording session. There, a Jane Doe alleges, various men sexually assaulted her in the bathroom of the recording studio.

Furthermore, the lawsuit also claims that Pierre did nothing to stop this situation despite its gruesome nature. Rather, Diddy’s associate allegedly smoked crack cocaine out of a Pepsi can while it happened, and thus, he appears in the latest lawsuit as a codefendant for gang sexual assault. Now, according to a statement reportedly obtained by TMZ Hip Hop, Harve Pierre has finally come out and addressed the claims against him and Puff Daddy. Unsurprisingly, it took on a similarly dismissive, staunch, and indignant stance as the label boss’ own public response.

“This is a tale of fiction,” Harve Pierre reportedly stated, according to the media outlet. “I have never participated in, witnessed, nor heard of anything like this, ever. These disgusting allegations are false and a desperate attempt for financial gain. I will vigorously protect my reputation and defend my name. Those who know me recognize that these claims are not true.” Meanwhile, Diddy’s response came from his social media pages. It followed at least a couple of weeks of silence apart from media statements from representatives or legal affiliates.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH,” he wrote on his online accounts, pasting white words on a black screen. “For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy. Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. Diddy’s Latest Sexual Assault Accuser Hires Cassie’s Lawyers

Diddy and his team recently received their fourth (allegedly fifth) sexual assault lawsuit in the past three weeks. Moreover, this whole situation became a PR nightmare for him as of late, and the sheer number of accusations paint a dark picture of his alleged behavior and attitudes. What’s more is that these cases relate to each other in unique ways, especially when it comes to how they might play out in court. Furthermore, a Jane Doe recently accused Sean Combs and two other men of sexually assaulting her when she was 17. According to reporter Meghann Cuniff, the plaintiff hired the same lawyers that worked with Cassie in the settled lawsuit that kicked this wave off.

“This is now the fifth lawsuit filed against Mr. Combs in the last three weeks,” the latest lawsuit against Diddy reads. “Incredibly, the allegations brought by Ms. Doe are in many ways even more egregious than those brought by his prior victims.” Not only that, but we’re also getting rumors and whispers of how this whole situation is impacting the industry. Apparently, this resulted in a “logistical nightmare” for the Grammys, for which he is nominated for this year.

Cassie’s Lawyers Reportedly Helping Diddy’s Latest Alleged Victim In Court

Meanwhile, amid all this speculation and legal action, the Bad Boy mogul finally broke his silence on all this. Rather than state something through his attorneys, he took to social media recently to stand up for himself. “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH,” Diddy posted on Instagram. “For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy. Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.”

However, this situation will likely become even more high-profile in the next few months. That is, if 50 Cent is really producing a documentary on the whole scandal. We’ll have to wait and see if that manifests. For more news and the latest updates on Diddy, check back in with HNHH.

Diddy’s Sexual Assault Lawsuits Causing “Logistical Nightmare” For Grammys: Report

Diddy’s ongoing sexual assault lawsuits are reportedly causing a “logistical nightmare” for the Grammys as the Recording Academy prepares for its 66th Annual Awards ceremony. The UK publication, Mirror, cites several officials within the Academy to report that the organization is trying to remove Diddy from the guest list. Additionally, numerous celebrities are requesting that they sit nowhere near him.

“The formal invitations go out this month. There’s conflict at the academy as several voting members do not think it would be appropriate to invite Diddy,” the report suggests. “Some, including several high profile African-American members, fear that inviting him sends the wrong message to audiences and the charities it supports. Several publicists have asked that their artists aren’t seated by him. It’s a logistical nightmare.”

Cassie was the first woman to file a lawsuit against Diddy, last month, accusing him of sexual abuse. While the two reached a settlement within 24 hours, two more accusers came forward with allegations against Diddy soon afterward.

Diddy has denied all of the allegations against him. In a statement provided to HipHopDX, a spokesperson for the Bad Boy mogul said: “These are fabricated claims falsely alleging misconduct from over 30 years ago and filed at the last minute. This is nothing but a money grab. Because of Mr. Combs’ fame and success, he is an easy target for anonymous accusers who lie without conscience or consequence for financial benefit. The New York Legislature surely did not intend or expect the Adult Survivors Act to be exploited by scammers. The public should be skeptical and not rush to accept these bogus allegations.” Be on the lookout for further updates on the fallout from Diddy’s sexual assault lawsuits on HotNewHipHop.
