It’s hard to keep track of every Diddy accuser, but it’s going to be difficult to not remember Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith’s name. That’s because he’s hitting the mogul with yet another lawsuit, with this one holding an even larger monetary amount. According to reports from In TouchWeekly and AllHipHop, The Michigan inmate, who’s serving a decades-long sentence for a rape case of his own, is seeking $400 million in damages. Cardello-Smith claims that Diddy invited him to a party at a Detroit Holiday Inn back in 1997. During his time there, he alleges that the Bad Boy Records founder handed him a drink with “a little something” added into it.
Later, Cardello-Smith says it knocked him out and upon awakening, he alleges that Diddy was having sex with a woman next to him. Moreover, the prison mate alleges that the rapper told him, “I did this to you too!” Since filing the lawsuit, Diddy’s legal team has labeled it “baseless,” and that Cardello-Smith mentioned two different locations for this alleged assault. They are also arguing that the claims were filed past the statute of limitations. Finally, Diddy’s lawyer has essentially dismissed the man’s lawsuit.
“Since [Derrick] first filed, his claims, (which were facially implausible to begin with), have ballooned into a massive conspiracy against him, involving multiple high-ranking Wayne County officials. Now realizing that his untimely claims are subject to dismissal, [Derrick] presents the court with a fresh helping of conspiratorial nonsense.” Diddy’s lawyer further added that he’s just now doing this because he had to “invent” facts.
But Cardello-Smith is not backing down. In fact, he’s going to call on a certain witness to help testify the facts he’s presenting. That person is nonother than Jennifer Lopez. He feels due to her dating the embattled figure from 1999-2001, she has information that could help sway the court. As we mentioned earlier, this is not Cardello-Smith’s first go-around with Diddy. Earlier this year, he was seeking $100 million. However, he wound up losing that battle due to the entertainer’s team successfully arguing that he was tampering with key court documents to obtain the money initially.
The explosive allegations against Jay-Z lit a fire under hip-hop culture that hadn’t been felt since… Well, Diddy faced his initial onslaught of lawsuits and accusations a year ago. For those unaware, a Jane Doe accused both men of sexually assaulting her at a VMAs after party in 2000 when she was 13 years old. But DL Hughley doesn’t seem to be as shocked as everyone else is, although it might not be for the reasons you expect. The comedian recently stopped by VladTV with DJ Vlad for an interview, and naturally, they eventually addressed the topic with some strong reflections.
“But, to be honest,” DL Hughley’s remarks on the Jay-Z and Diddy allegations began. “Nobody believed that this wouldn’t touch a lot of very famous people, right? This whole milieu we find ourselves in, [that it] wouldn’t touch a lot of famous people. And all I can say when I saw it is, I didn’t go to none of those parties. No. It never appealed to me. I’m not saying that everybody who did go was wrong. But I’m glad I ain’t got a lawyer asking me to get my story together.”
Elsewhere, DL Hughley compared Diddy’s currently tanking reputation to Jay-Z’s, who has received a lot more industry support defending his reputation. While Hughley still wouldn’t put it past anyone, he also made a comment about how these moves – plus previous takedowns of R. Kelly and Bill Cosby – have taken down the 1990s decade in popular culture. In addition, he also commended Hov’s response to the allegations and posited that everyone deserves the presumption of innocence in these cases until proven otherwise.
Overall, it seems like DL Hughley wants to see everything play out in court before making a strong judgement call, as Diddy made the same denial of wrongdoing that Jay-Z did. Of course, the Sean Combs situation quickly proved to be much more different thanks to that video of him assaulting Cassie that leaked earlier this year. With a whole lot to anticipate in 2025 and surely more legal developments on the way, we can expect hip-hop and pop culture at large to continue discussing this heavily.
An anonymous man accusing Diddy of sexual assault has spoken about his allegations for the first time in an interview with CNN. Concealing his face and distorting his voice, the “John Doe,” detailed his account of being allegedly sodomized by Diddy during one of his infamous “white parties” in the Hamptons. He was hired to work the party through his employment at a private security firm.
During the event, Diddy allegedly personally gave him two drinks that were laced with GHB and ecstasy. “The first drink started to have some affect on me and I just thought, ‘Wow these are really strong drinks.’ It wasn’t until the second drink — and it was already too late — that I realized that there was something wrong with the drinks,” he told the outlet. “Sadly, Sean Combs was waiting in the wings. He was watching from some sort of vantage point and once I was in a helpless position and he was sure that he was in a position of power, then he took advantage of the situation.”
He then alleges that Diddy pushed him into a vehicle and began sodomizing him. “I was screaming, I was telling him to stop,” he said. “It was incredibly painful, and he was acting like it was nothing and he seemed to be disconnected from it. But it was abusive beyond belief.” The man further claims he found difficulty getting work after complaining about the incident to his supervisor.
Accuser Speaks Out On Diddy
Without giving away a name, John Doe added: “There was one high-profile individual who saw what happened and found it amusing.” Diddy has already vehemently denied all of the allegations he’s faced over the last year. Check out John Doe’s interview with CNN below.
Charlamagne tha God scored a major legal victory on November. The entertainer had charges of sexual assault and battery dropped when a judge decreed that the case was past the statute of limitations. The outlet In Touch Weekly reported that the initial claims were filed too long after the alleged incident took place. Furthermore, the judge denied the accuser, Jessica Nicole Reid, the opportunity to amend her lawsuit. It was determined she had not “demonstrated” enough evidence to justify an amendment.
Reid’s allegations date over two decades. She alleges that Charlamagne tha God invited her to a party on July 8, 2001. She claimed she felt dizzy after drinking something the radio personality gave her. Reid said that she felt like her legs were going to give out, and was helped upstairs by other attendees. Once she was upstairs, though, Reid claims that Charlamagne tha God entered the room in which she was resting. He then, allegedly, assaulted her. “Charlamagne was having sex with Ms. Reid and she could not do anything about it,” her lawyers wrote in the lawsuit.
Furthermore, Reid accused Charlamagne tha God of spreading rumors about her after the alleged incident. “Every time Ms. Reid turns on the radio and hears his voice,” the lawsuit added. “Sees him on TV, and walks past his books in the stores, she is reminded of what Charlamagne did to her.” The media personality’s lawyer, Michael Weinstein, disputed these allegations outright. Weinstein claimed several witnesses saw Charlamagne tha God leave the party before the alleged assault took place. He also said Reid presented a lack of evidence, given the severity of her claims.
Reid previously attempted to bring a case against Charlamagne in 2003. In Touch Weekly states that Charlamagne voluntarily submitted DNA to South Carolina authorities, but it did not match Reid’s rape kit. The charges were then thrown out. When efforts were made to reopen the case in 2018, the South Carolina Solicitor General declined. He claimed it would be unethical to do so. The second case, the one that was recently dismissed, was filed in New York. The aforementioned judge also dismissed Reid’s claims of defamation.
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal issues aren’t slowing down by any means. Currently locked up as he awaits federal trial on trafficking charges, the disgraced music mogul continues to see the lawsuits pile up on decades-old allegations surrounding sexual assault. This week, two new lawsuits emerged that alleged Diddy assaulted two minors including one who was 10 years old at the time of the assault. Below is a breakdown of the latest lawsuits against Diddy.
Spearheaded by attorney Tony Buzbee, a lawyer who said that he planned to file 120 lawsuits against Diddy amid RICO charges, a John Doe filed a complaint against the music mogul claiming that he had been sexually assaulted in 2005 in an attempt to gain some sort of footing in the music industry. Per Variety, the lawsuit claims that Doe’s parents hired a music consultant to aid his aspirations to become a musician. The consultant allegedly helped link Doe and Diddy during a trip to New York City where Diddy held an “audition” for the then 10-year-old.
The lawsuit, which has been filed to the Supreme Court of the State of New York, claims that Diddy asked to meet the boy alone before his family joined them. Doe claims the consultant left him with Diddy at a hotel where he performed a couple of songs for the mogul. However, Diddy allegedly told the boy that he would “make him a star” before asking him how badly he wanted to make it. As stated in the complaint, the boy responded that he would “do anything.”
Alleged Spiked Sodas
The complaint then details the moments before the alleged assault. Doe said that someone gave him a soda before he began feeling “a little funny.” The accuser’s attorney said something was slipped into the drunk “including but not limited to GHB and/or ecstasy.” Diddy allegedly told the boy “you have to do some stuff you don’t want to do sometimes” after he consumed the drink. The lawsuit claims that Diddy forced Doe to perform oral sex on him, despite resisting, and the complainant fell unconscious. The boy allegedly woke up to Diddy whose “pants were undone, and his anus and buttocks hurt badly.” When the boy complained, Diddy reportedly threatened to harm his parents.
In another lawsuit filed by Buzbee, John Doe claims that Diddy sexually assaulted him during a 3-day audition for the mogul’s MTV show, Making The Band. Doe said the incident happened in 2008 when he was 17 years old, and when he had his one-on-one meeting with Diddy, “Combs asked Plaintiff hypothetical questions about handling situations involving sexual pressure,” per court documents obtained by CNN. “As Combs described these scenarios, he began to sexually assault Plaintiff by touching Plaintiff both over and under his clothing, including groping and fondling his penis and instructing Plaintiff to undress.”
A common theme in the allegations paints Diddy as a fear-mongering executive who leveraged his status and power over his victims. Doe said that Diddy stressed that he could “make or break” his career. According to the suit, the abuse continued over the three days with the Bad Boy founder allegedly demanding the 17-year-old “to demonstrate the ability to embody a ‘sex idol’ persona” before sexually assaulting him again. On the third day, Doe said he was eliminated after Diddy and his bodyguard allegedly assaulted him.” The lawsuit states the elimination occurred “as Combs claimed that Plaintiff was untrustworthy due to his reservations about performing oral sex on his bodyguard.”
Diddy’s Responds
As the allegations began to make headlines, Diddy’s attorney issued a statement to CNN that didn’t directly address the latest lawsuits but denied the claims of trafficking and abuse. “As we’ve said before, Mr. Combs cannot respond to every new publicity stunt, even in response to claims that are facially ridiculous or demonstrably false,” Combs’ attorneys said in a statement, in part. “Mr. Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr. Combs never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone—man or woman, adult or minor.”
The Houston-based attorney has been at the forefront of the dozen-plus lawsuits filed against Diddy. In addition to the two John Does accusing Diddy of assaulting them as minors, 10 others, both men and women (some teens at the time), who accused Diddy of sexual misconduct. Per People, he also opened a hotline for alleged victims, claiming that he received 12,000 calls in one day after his press conference.
Diddy’s Indictment
The latest lawsuit adds to the nearly two dozen filed against Diddy since last November. Following Cassie’s bombshell lawsuit, Diddy faced allegations surrounding heinous acts behind the scenes. Last month, federal agents arrested him on claims that he controlled a “criminal enterprise” that actively engaged in sex trafficking, forced labor, and physical abuse. After appearing in court, he pleaded not guilty to charges of trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The court has set a tentative date for his court hearing for May 2025. We’ll keep you posted on any further updates.
As the allegations emerged in the past year, the mogul’s kids, often by his side, finally broke their silence. In a statement issued to Instagram, they flatly called out the “conspiracy theories” and “false narratives” while showing support for their dad. “The past month has devastated our family. Many have judged both him and us based on accusations, conspiracy theories, and false narratives that have spiraled into absurdity on social media. We stand united, supporting you every step of the way,” the statement read. They continued, “We hold onto the truth, knowing it will prevail, and nothing will break the strength of our family. WE MISS YOU & LOVE YOU DAD,” the statement read.
While Diddy continues to sit in his prison cell at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC), the stack of legal papers stacks taller. According to Rolling Stone, the disgraced hip-hop mogul a new influx of allegations and lawsuits were sent into to Tony Buzbee and then filed by him and Andrew Van Arsdale from California. The former was the one encouraging potential victims to call the Sexual Assault hotline recently and he’s representing over 100 clients.
Every alleged victim deserves to have their stories heard, but one of them in particular is catching a lot attention. One of the lawsuits against Diddy involves him allegedly drugging and then raping a 10-year-old boy who had dreams to make it in rap. In the civil suit, the documents say this alleged act took place in 2005 in a hotel in New York City. Diddy allegedly told a consultant that the boy’s family hired that he wanted to be one on one with him during the audition.
The boy performed a few songs for him and after he was done, Diddy allegedly told the Jane Doe he could “make him a star.” Later in the documents, “Combs asked Plaintiff how badly he wanted to be a star, and what Plaintiff would do to get to be one. Plaintiff responded, as might any ten-year-old child, that he would ‘do anything.” Allegedly, after the boy said this, Diddy then handed him a soda and after drinking it he claimed that he felt “a little funny.” “After Plaintiff consumed his soda and began feeling its effects, Combs told Plaintiff to move closer to him, which Plaintiff did. Combs then abruptly pushed Plaintiff down and said words to the effect of ‘you have to do some stuff you don’t want to do sometimes.’” That is when the alleged assaulting took place.

Tony Buzbee continues to launch lawsuits alleging misconduct against Diddy, as he will represent about 120 of the Bad Boy mogul’s alleged victims. Moreover, according to a TMZ report, Buzbee filed six separate lawsuits recently, four of which are from male accusers. One of them is from a man who worked at Ecko Clothing in 2008 and allegedly met Sean Combs as he developed Sean John as a competing clothing brand. The man alleges that the executive and three of his bodyguards ran into him in the stockroom of a Macy’s in New York City. He alleges that someone hit him in the back of his neck with their pistol, and that Combs said “Suck my d**k, Ecko” before orally assaulting him.
Another man alleges that he worked as a security guard for Diddy’s White Party in 2006 and drank a cocktail spiked with GBH and/or ecstasy. Then, he alleges, the former Diageo partner forcibly took him to a van and sodomized him without consent. In another lawsuit filed by Tony Buzbee, a man alleged that he went to one of Combs’ parties in 2021 and that he became disoriented due to a drink. He also alleged that the next thing he remembers is being paralyzed in a room, where three men allegedly sexually assaulted him and sodomized him. The man allegedly “distinctly recalled” seeing a naked Puff standing over him.
The fourth lawsuit in question comes from a man who alleges that he went to Diddy’s 1998 White Party in the Hamptons when he was just 16 years old. After allegedly taking a photo together, the man alleges that Puffy took him to a private area to tell him to take his pants off to see his penis. “Don’t you want to break into the business?” he allegedly asked the man, since they allegedly spoke of turning the alleged then-16-year-old into a star. The man says that he dropped his pants, and that the now-54-year-old squeezed his genitals.
Other stories floating around the Diddy scandal concern Donald Trump allegedly defending him against Aubrey O’Day back in the day. All situations above remain allegations, and the parties involved have not addressed them publicly at press time.
Sage The Gemini is facing a sexual assault allegation from a woman who accuses him of raping her at Chris Brown’s house back in 2017. She had gone public with the allegation in a viral TikTok post from last month, but according to TMZ, has now filed an official police report in Los Angeles. “I was raped at Chris Brown’s house by his friend Sage the Gemini. Yes, I know I should have never been at Chris Brown’s house in the first place,” she alleged on TikTok. She added that she was just 18 years old at the time.
Sage previously denied the allegations in a series of posts on his Instagram Story, last month. “Only people she not Lyin to is the police cuz they don’t give our careers! #FindANewHustle”, he wrote at the time. In more posts, he added: “When I ruptured my patellar tendon I called emergency services the same day!” as well as, “Internet could sell you a foot if they said you could walk faster.”
In the alleged victim’s TikTok post, she also called out Diddy regarding his recent arrest on charges of alleged sex trafficking and racketeering. He’s already pleaded not guilty to those crimes and plans to argue his case in court. He currently resides at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn while awaiting trial. His next attempt at getting out on bail will come later this week.
TikTok User Comes Forward With Allegation
As for Chris Brown, his own allegations are set to be the subject of a new documentary from Investigative Discovery, later this month. It will be titled Chris Brown: A History of Violence and air on October 27. Be on the lookout for further updates on Sage The Gemini on HotNewHipHop.
Another harrowing lawsuit came forward against Diddy amid his federal case. This time, it’s from an anonymous woman who claims that he drugged, sexually assaulted, and impregnated her, and even added allegations that he continues to intimidate and threaten her. These new court documents were reportedly filed on Friday (September 27) and obtained by TMZ. The Jane Doe claims that Sean Combs assaulted her on various occasions over a four-year period. As for the pregnancy, she stated via her attorney Joseph L. Ciaccio that she suffered a miscarriage, and their lawsuit further details the alleged crimes at hand.
The latest woman to sue Diddy claims that they first met in the fall of 2020 on an all-expenses paid trip overseas. They allegedly saw each other on occasion during 2021 and 2022, as he and his team supposedly arranged for link-ups at his Miami, L.A., and New York homes. The Jane Doe accused Puff Daddy and his entourage of using “coercive and harassing language” to get her to sign onto their travel plans, thus removing her agency in traveling of her own volition. Drivers would allegedly arrive at her home to take her to him and he would allegedly spike drinks to force himself onto her.
One specific instance mentioned in the lawsuit is an April 2022 incident in which Diddy allegedly forced the Jane Doe to engage in intercourse at his Los Angeles property. Not only did she claim that she sustained injuries from their meetings, but she also accused him of forcing ketamine and other drugs onto her in July of 2022, causing a mental blackout. This is when she claims she got pregnant. In addition, the filing posits that one of the Bad Boy mogul’s affiliates harassed her over the phone to get an abortion before she supposedly suffered a miscarriage. After this, the anonymous accuser says she tried to distance herself despite Combs’ alleged constant calls and texts so that they could meet again.
Furthermore, the Jane Doe claims that this behavior persisted through June of this year. She expressed fear for her safety during this time period due to how she allegedly witnessed Diddy attacking and abusing other females. Also, the woman accused him of tracking her location and monitoring her conversations, and of still reaching out to her to this day in an effort to control and intimidate. She seeks unspecified damages for the trauma, financial injury, and physical injury she allegedly suffered. While the executive’s team hasn’t publicly responded to this suit at press time, they have denied almost all allegations against him up to now.
Diddy continues to receive some pretty damning updates in his saga of misconduct allegations, civil lawsuits, and federal investigation. Moreover, a Texas attorney recently announced his representation of over 50 new alleged sexual assault victims who claim to have suffered the crime at the hands of the Bad Boy mogul. On Thursday night (September 26), the Houston-based Buzbee Law Firm took to Instagram to announce their move against him and his associations for their alleged sexual assault and abuse. Furthermore, this adds to Sean Combs’ 11 lawsuits over the past 11 months. One of these was the settled Cassie case. Meanwhile, he denies all the other allegations against him.
“The Buzbee Law Firm has been associated by the Ava Law Group to act as Lead Counsel to pursue claims on behalf of more than fifty individuals who suffered sexual assault and abuse at the hands of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and his cohorts,” their statement reads. “This group of brave individuals include both men and women. Many were minors when the abuse occurred. Some of these brave individuals reported the incidents to the police, others did not. Each individual story is gut wrenching and heartbreaking.
“The acts complained of occurred at hotels, private homes, and also at the infamous P. Diddy ‘Freak Off’ parties,” the firm continued. “The violations against this group of individuals are mind-boggling. [They] can only be described as debauchery and depravity, exacted by powerful people against minors and the weak. I expect the group seeking redress will grow as this case progresses. I expect many other individuals will be implicated. We expect to have a press conference early next week where some of these stories can be told as the nation learns more and grapples with the potential scope of this scandal. Our firm has always been at the forefront of the most important cases in the United States. We are proud to represent this group of brave souls and pray for justice on their behalf.
“My referring counsel, who associated me to lead this effort, has been vetting and performing due diligence on these claims for many months,” Tony Buzbee stated to XXL of his firm’s Diddy case. “These are thus vetted claims that we intend to file in the courts of New York. I expect there will be many more victims who come forward. On behalf of these brave individuals, I intend to sue Mr. Combs along with several other notable entities and individuals who were involved.”
