If Saweetie has heard the haters poking fun at her FIBA World Cup performance online, she certainly isn’t letting them get her down. Last week, the Icy Girl took to the stage at the international basketball event in the Philippines, performing a majorette-inspired version of her hit single, “Tap In.” In a video posted to her Instagram page, she revealed what the choreography looked like in rehearsal, comparing that to how things went on stage. While she undeniably gave it her best, some internet trolls pointed out that her skin-tight costume appeared to be causing some problems.

As the unwarranted opinions about her outfit and body continued to pour in, the California native pulled on another curve-hugging fashion statement before heading out for a fun night with friends in Manila. “Ready to play 😈,” she wrote in her caption, kicking off the carousel with a snapshot of the rap diva checking out her glamorous appearance in the mirror. For her FIBA show, Saweetie had long, brown hair flowing down her body, though she later changed that up in favour of a mint green wig styled with bangs and adorable buns on either side of her head.

In the subsequent selections, we see the Grammy-nominated lyricist showing off her bodacious behind in a black leather mini-skirt, notably looking back at the camera from above. Though she didn’t have a set of her own at the California festival, the Icy Girl did join Latto on stage for her set during weekend one, which also saw her posing for photos with Ice Spice. After a brief stint in the desert, she caught a flight to the Phillippines recently, just in time to entertain audiences at the international basketball competition. The innovative dinner experience welcomed illustrious guests like Saweetie, Gabrielle Union, Rose Bertram, Roget, Pearl Thusi, Karreuche, Dj Ruckus, and Seth Green. It paired five dishes with some of Jeeter’s premium strains like a sommelier would pair wine. The event, which Dwyane Wade and Jeeter hosted, included a private comedy presentation by Jay Pharoah. With an amazing drone show featuring Wade’s #3 jersey, Jeeter thanks basketball legend Dwyane Wade for co-hosting the event.

Saweetie Set to Headline FIBA Basketball World Cup Concert

In case you didn’t know, Oakland rapper Saweetie is 1/4th Filipina. Though she has never been there before, she gets the opportunity to visit the Philippines this weekend. The “So Icy” rapper is the headliner for a concert in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. The reason for the concert is the FIBA Basketball World Cup Draw

At the Draw, FIBA will announce players for all 32 teams for the upcoming competition. The FIBA Basketball World Cup will embark on a new path as the tournament will be across three countries. Along with the Philippines, Indonesia, and Japan will also host the event. The last FIBA Basketball World Cup was held in China, and the last time the Philippines hosted the FIBA Basketball World Cup was 1978.

This year’s event will happen at the Araneta Coliseum. Besides Saweetie hitting the stage, fans also get to see hometown favorites perform, such as Sarah Geronimo and Billy Crawford.

Saweetie kicked off today’s Instagram post with a stunning shot of her relaxing in the pool, wearing a white bikini while soaking her legs in the clear blue water. Following that, the 29-year-old let her goofy side shine, including a video of her falling on her behind after attempting to slide on white marble floors in her kitchen. After a brief laughing intermission, fans were pleased to see a mirror selfie of the Icy Girl with the Bronx baddie, who performed at Revolve Festival during last weekend’s Coachella events.

Saweetie Spent Her First Check On Boob Job

Saweetie has received both positive and negative feedback from her peers in the rap industry. Her first official single, “Icy Girl,” was released in 2017, and it features her rapping over the beat from Khia’s well-known track “My Neck, My Back.” Unfortunately, Khia did not think she did it justice. In December 2022, Saweetie unveiled her most recent EP, THE SINGLE LIFE, which she dubbed her most candid project yet. Fans are still anticipating the release of her first full-length album, Pretty Bitch Music, which was originally scheduled to be released in 2021. In the beginning of 2021, a video of her performing an acapella rap went viral on social media, leading to criticism from some who believed that her flow was subpar. Saweetie Wants To Be A Blockbuster Villain

Despite not releasing an album yet, Saweetie has absolutely crushed the music scene. The 29-year-old is seven times certified platinum and will likely reap the rewards of her tireless work when Pretty Bitch Music finally drops this year.

However, she has not limited herself to music. Her repertoire includes acting credits in Grown-ish and a cameo appearance on Bel-Air. Beyond that, she has appeared as herself on several big-name shows. These have included being a musical guest on SNL and appearing on Cooking With Paris. But there’s a role, or a genre of role, that Saweetie has her eye on.

Saweetie Wants To Be A DC Villian

Speaking with Metro in March, Saweetie revealed exactly what sort of acting role she wants to pursue. “I can see myself doing more TV and film projects. I definitely want to be a supervillain in the DC movies. I dressed up as Harley Quinn…I love getting into character and dressing up.” she said. Furthermore, Saweetie’s declaration comes at the perfect time as the DC Cinematic Universe undergoes a significant transformation. In an attempt to move away from the Zach Synder “DC Extended Universe”, James Gunn will launch the “DC Universe” in 2025 with Superman: Legacy. Other films announced for this reboot of a DC shared universe include The Authority, The Brave And The Bold, Supergirl: World Of Tomorrow, and Swamp Thing. There will also be TV projects in the form of Creature Commandos, Waller, Lanterns, Paradise Lost, and Booster Gold.

There are so many fantastic villains and anti-heroes contained within these properties. The Brave And The Bold, based on Grant Morris’ Batman comics, would be the perfect place to introduce Saweetie as Harley Quinn. Alternatively, Saweetie could flex her anti-hero muscles in a role like Bride of Frankenstein, a core member of the Suicide Squad-esque Creature Commandos. Additionally, the Game Of Thrones-esque Paradise Lost is going to need plenty of villains. Overall, there is a wealth of villain roles that are about to become available in the DC Universe. Perhaps we will see Saweetie take up the mantle of one of them.
