Rome Streetz & Daringer Drop Off Their Touted Collab Project “Hatton Garden Holdup”

Rome Streetz and Buffalo, New York producer Daringer have been reeling in quite a few curious ears lately. This unofficial duo has sneakily had hip-hop heads waiting for their collaboration project to drop. Well, Rome Streetz and Daringer have done just that this weekend, as Hatton Garden Holdup is now here. The London bred underground MC teased that him and his partner and crime had something serious cooking on his Instagram about three months ago. Accompanying a cold picture of them together was the caption, “We Been in the lab cooking up a batch,” Rome began. “Almost that time to put the slab out on the streetz… To put it real simple Rome Streetz and Daringer bout to Drop a Album and it’s a f***in scud missile… Stay tuned!!”

This got some serious attention, especially from fellow East Coast natives such as Conway the Machine, Westside Gunn, and more. Leading up to the tape, “Starbvxkz” and “Sage” featuring ScHoolboy Q just a few weeks before October 4. Overall, we can see why the hype for Hatton Garden Holdup was so real. Daringer is cooking on nearly every beat here. He’s able to create a luxurious, smoky, and grimy environment, which is perfect for an MC like Rome. His braggy and ultra-violent lyrics complement the various soundscapes that his beat maker lays down. Critics and causal listeners are raving about it as well, so be sure to get it on this ASAP.

Rome Streetz & Daringer Preview Their Upcoming Collab Project With Hazy “Sage” Featuring ScHoolboy Q

Rome Streetz is one the most stalwart undergrounders that we have going right now. You can always go to him for solid rhymes and bars, in addition to head-nodding East Coast hip-hop rhythms. Pretty soon, he will almost assuredly deliver one of those listening experiences again in just a few weeks. On October 4, him and veteran producer Daringer will be dropping their joint effort, Hatton Garden Holdup. Given that it’s named after a longstanding London jewelry store, we are expecting a luxurious tape. Part of that expectation comes from the lead single “Starbvxkz”.

The production has a glamorous feeling to it, thanks to its twinkling and soft piano melodies. It’s been making us float since we’ve heard it and “Sage” by Rome Streetz is having that similar effect. With his brags and hazy beat, you can easily lock in, close your eyes, and feel the vibes almost instantaneously. Here, we are also getting the first feature for the eventual release. ScHoolboy Q’s verse and drawn-out vocal delivery perfectly matches up with the mood. Overall, the track really does have a heady quality, and it may do it better than its predecessor. Fans can expect to have 13 songs, with features from Conway the Machine, Cormega, and Meyhem Lauren too. Give “Sage” a try with the YouTube link below.

Rome Streetz Wants You To Get The Memo On “Ya Understand”

If you are looking to add some new hardcore hip-hop tracks into your daily rotation, look no further than the new Rome Streetz tape. The London-bred and New York City-raised lyrical mastermind dropped by a new short project with the help of a talented friend. Producer Wavy Da Ghawd, who hails from the neighboring city of Brooklyn, laid down some fire beats for his wingman to body. Another track from Buck 50 that we have been gravitating toward has been “Ya Understand.”

The consistent rapper lives up to that title on this track, as Streetz sticks to the themes of brags and violence that are all over the six-song EP. “I’m him ya understand? / All them bums in last place, so get behind them, ya understand? / Do the knowledge first, get some wisdom, than ya understand,” Rome raps on the short chorus. It’s bluntness, on top of the fact that it is only performed once, is why this track is so great.

It really embodies the idea of getting his message across and not repeating it a bunch. Rome’s supreme confidence does not need to be overstated, hence the short run time of the song and also his cadence. When you are rapping bars like these, you better be rapping with utmost purpose, and he does that. “The grand champ stomping on the skull of these amateurs / You ants to us anything that got my stamp is cancerous / I crush every member of your clan in my hand of dust with no rush.” Talk about a mic drop.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song “Ya Understand” by Rome Streetz and Wavy Da Ghawd? Where does this track rank amongst the rest of the records on the project? Is this one of the best EPs of 2024 so far, why or why not? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Quotable Lyrics:

The pen poisonous all you peons is second rate
Was selling weight all across state and then I caught the case
Cornered off by the court of law
Now we on quotes for cake make you a corpse
Chalk outline and caution tape won’t save
None of these broads whore get your claws off my cake

Rome Streetz Is Strictly Business On “Runnin It Up”

Rome Streetz has always been an impressive performer and lyricist over his eight-year career. That has especially been the case for the multi-cultural veteran over the last year or so. From features, to singles, and now three projects, he has really been showing out and displaying why he is a respected face in the underground. On his newest outing Buck 50, Rome Streetz put on some dynamic performances, including on the track “Runnin It Up.”

This song and project were released over this past weekend. It was a collaborative effort with producer Wavy Da Ghawd that spanned six tracks at a scant 13:14 run time. Across it, Rome is definitely prioritizing all killer and no filler and “Runnin It Up” is a prime example of that. On this cut, the London-born MC is boasting and being at the top of the game.

Running it up, you just running your mouth (Stupid) / Only thing to talk about is the money amount (Money) / That’s really it, I been had the whole world in my fist (Uh-huh).” Rome’s presence also makes his bold claims believable, and that is always an important thing to consider when listening a song like this. On top of just being a lean, mean, rapping machine, Rome also works in some unintentionally funny bars. “The Wonder Woman trying to come and f*** (Yah),” is the one that really got us. All in all, he is rapping his a** off and we recommend you check this out immediately.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song “” by 4batz? Where does this track rank amongst the rest of the records on the project? Has he won you over with u made me a st4r, why or why not? Quotable Lyrics:

Plenty peers here in this rap sphere, but they all suck (These n****s trash!)
At square one, washed up stupid on stuck
Lately I’ve been running it up globally, getting bucks (Uh-huh)
Got a wanderlust, a one on one like Mr. Wonderful
The Wonder Woman trying to come and f*** (Yah)
Your album cover get blunt ashes, dust to dust

Rome Streetz & Wavy Da Ghawd Come Through With Six-Track Set On “Buck 50”

Rugged lyricist from New York, Rome Streetz, is continuing to build off an impressive run in 2023 with Brooklyn producer Wavy Da Ghawd on Buck 50. This is the duo’s first project together and it comes in the form of a six-song collection that shows how in sync these two are. It might stem from the fact that these guys have developed quite the friendship. According to an interview with Throw Up, they asked Wavy Da Ghawd how they crossed paths and begain to develop chemistry.

“In 2018, when I first moved to NYC, the first rapper I met was Rome, Rim, and Sauce Heist in the same vicinity. Ever since then I engaged by giving beats to all of them and relationships were born. These guys and many more grew to be a strong faction to my career,” Wavy said. For the multi-cultural beatmaker this is his second project of the year, following an effort with Passport Rav on Bermuda Triangle.

Have a steady presence like Rome in the studio with you makes his job easier. Together, they have come through with a batch of songs that compete with any other rapper’s EP from this year. The meticulous and aggressive lyrics and flows from Streetz, along with the luscious boom-bap production just make sense.

Joey Badass Launches Mentorship Program Aimed At Helping Black Men

Joey Badass is giving back through his new mentorship program. Fittingly, it’s called MENTorship and seeks to provide black men in the US and Puerto Rico with mentors. The program is open to those over 18 looking for both career and personal guidance. Applications for the program will open in just a few days on October 15. Inspired by my friend @sophchangnyc & @unlockherpotential. I recruited an impressive network of incredible mentors in the areas of ART, CULINARY, FASHION, FILM/TV, MEDIA MUSIC, and SPORTS. Starting with myself, I will be announcing new mentors everyday until applications open on the 15th,” Joey Badass captioned his Instagram post making the announcement. The announcement comes just a few weeks after Joey teamed up with Rome Streetz for a fire new single. The pair delivered “Fire At Ya Idle Mind” which combined Joey’s signature dynamic street raps with witty observations and musings. The track has already racked up more than 550k streams on Spotify amid a chorus of critical acclaim.

Earlier this year Joey Badass pivoted his focus entirely to R&B. He dropped his new single “Fallin’” all the way back in April. The song showcased how far he’s come as an artist and a person despite some of the lows he experienced. Fans were surprised not just by how well his introspective shift worked but also how natural he sounded singing over an R&B instrumental. What do you think of Joey Badass’ new mentorship program? Let us know in the comment section below.
