Boosie Badazz Triples Down On Kanye West Response: “You Know How Many Rappers I Raised?”

Boosie Badazz is still discussing Kanye West’s recent claim about being responsible for the last 20 years of music. Speaking on his own influence during a livestream, Boosie argued that no one wants to give him his proper flowers.

“You know how many rappers I raised out there bro?” Boosie asked. “Like, who don’t give me my flowers. Everybody quiet bro. They don’t wanna be looked at. They don’t wanna be on my side and be looked at like you supporting Boosie. That’s what I be thinking it is. But, they’ll give Kanye his flowers, people like that. But, Boosie, you know.”

As for the full remarks that set Boosie off, West argued that he’s responsible for every trend in the last two decades while speaking with Big Boy after his Rolling Loud set. “I invented every style of music of the past 20 years, I created the genre. I created Weeknd’s genre. Trav, Drake, everybody. I’mma go ahead and say with all love, Future and Thug also because the auto-tune album, 808s,” he explained, last week. “Everybody thinks about Trav, Weeknd, and Drake but no one thinks about Future and Thug also. The auto-tune album. Now everyone, they added whatever it was to it. But here’s a new genre. It’s called making your own money genre. This music is called, like, take that middle man out.” Check out Boosie’s latest response to the claim below.

NLE Choppa Shocks Fans With NSFW Track And Dance Moves At Rolling Loud

NLE Choppa is an artist who has never truly shied away from being provocative. Overall, he enjoys getting people to talk about him. For instance, a couple of years ago, he said he would stop rapping about violence and would only push positivity. Subsequently, he went along with this new rebrand for a while but he eventually reverted back to his old sound. These days, NLE has been trying to lean into his sexuality. He has made some interesting remarks on social media, and he even has people like Adam 22 trying to film with him.

A great example of this new pivot from NLE Choppa, is his most recent performance at Rolling Loud. In the video down below, you can see exactly what we mean. The artist can be seen gyrating his hips, all while performing an NSFW track about what he wants a woman to do to him. Overall, this is all pretty surprising stuff considering the type of music Choppa used to make. Of course, he could ultimately pivot back to what he used to do, but for now, he is focused on making anthems for the ladies. As for whether or not this is resonating, well, that jury is still out on that.

Sukihana Brings Out OJ Da Juiceman At Rolling Loud Shortly After He War Released From Police Custody

Over the weekend, Rolling Loud Los Angeles took place and some of the biggest names in rap gathered in California. Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, Future, and Metro Boomin served as the headliners. As you’d expect there were guests abound. During West’s listening party Freddie Gibbs, YG, Rich Homie Quan, Quavo, and more joined him on stage. Later in the festival YG was joined by Saweetie during his set. Sexyy Red performed her own set before appearing during Chief Keef’s Sunday slot. And Future closed the festival by debuting new material he has with Playboi Carti and Travis Scott. But one of the guests receiving quite a bit of attention came out during Sukihana’s set.

The provocative rapper and social media figure took the stage on Sunday. The packed crowd in attendance for her performance got something they weren’t expecting when she brought out a special guest. The special guest she delivered was OJ Da Juiceman. It was particularly surprising that he appeared as the rapper was only very recently released from police custody. He was arrested in Georgia earlier this month after a brief chase with police. Following a search of his car he was hit with drug and gun charges. Due to his recent release his Rolling Loud appearance came as even more of a surprise than most special guests. Check out the clip of him on stage below.

Nicki Minaj Cancels ‘Pink Friday 2 World Tour’ Stop In New Orleans Hours Before Show Allegedly Due To An Undisclosed Medical Issue

If you were all dolled up and ready for Gag City to breeze through the Big Easy, you’re out of luck.

Tonight (March 18), Nicki Minaj fans based in the greater New Orleans area had their hearts set on seeing her live. However, a post shared on the Smoothie King Center’s official Instagram page revealed that her Pink Friday 2 World Tour stop for this evening had been postponed allegedly due to an undisclosed medical issue.

“Due to doctor’s orders, Nicki Minaj must reschedule her NOLA show tonight,” read the note. “As Nicki is still sick, our team does not want to run the risk of getting others sick, and Nicki would not be able to give NOLA the show they deserve. We are working diligently to find a new date, so please hold onto your tickets, and we will inform you all soon.”

With just hours to spare before the performance was scheduled to kick off, ticketholders were not thrilled. In fact, they’ve begun airing their grievances in the post’s comment section.

“She ain’t just get sick a few hours ago. This should’ve been announced this morning or yesterday. This is extremely last minute, and I’m very frustrated,” one user wrote.

“Nobody is mad because she canceled. It’s the fact they waited four hours before the event to tell us officially,” another chimed in.

Fans across X (formerly Twitter) defended the “Press Play” rapper, pointing out that Nicki was fighting back a sickness during her headlining set at 2024 Rolling Loud California on Friday, March 15. Nicki hasn’t issued a statement. However, ticketholders are advised to check their email regarding information for the rescheduled date.

Nicki Minaj’s Rolling Loud Headlining Set Brought Plenty Of Frosting But Forgot The Cake

Last year, Nicki Minaj made a pretty triumphant return with Pink Friday 2, her first new album in 5 years. The record came on the back of numerous hit singles, most notably the smash hit “Super Freaky Girl.” It also spawned some new beloved hits of its own like “FTCU” and “Everybody.” Unsurprisingly, she followed it up with a tour announcement on the back of the record. But far from just a celebration of Pink Friday 2, the resulting tour has turned out to be a career-long victory lap for one of rap’s premiere hitmakers.

In a similar fashion to mega-tours in 2023 like the Eras and Renaissance tours, Nicki delivered visuals, set pieces, outfits, and set lists that span her entire 15 years of hitmaking. The potential for her to unpack nearly any song she’s ever recorded clicks perfectly with her rabidly devoted fanbase of Barbz. The pink-clad stan army fundamentally change anywhere they arrive in bulk and Rolling Loud was no different. One main stage act after another during the festival’s Friday schedule couldn’t help but notice the seas of pink overtaking the grounds. All of the built and built into a fevered anticipation for Nicki herself to take the stage. While she delivered all of the bells and whistles fans could hope for, it was delivered in an impersonal and over-rehearsed package that felt far more concerned with seeming grand and elaborate than actually putting on a dynamic performance.

Rolling Loud Los Angeles was officially the 6th stop on the Pink Friday 2 tour. The set got underway 40 minutes late, though that was the case throughout the weekend-long festival and didn’t necessarily have much to do with Nicki. But she did give fans lucky enough to have cellphone service a QR code to explore her Gag City website while they waited. When it was finally time for her to take the stage, she was preceded by a flashy introduction video. The clip features an animated Nicki in the image of her Chun-Li character gearing up to take the stage.

Videos like that one were played repeatedly throughout the performance. Alongside the numerous shifting stage elements, that meant there was quite a substantial portion of the show where Nicki was entirely absent. In fact, multiple entire songs from the set were played while she was nowhere to be found on stage. The combination of constantly shifting set design and repeated outfit changes gave the impression that they were condensing an entire concert into the compacted festival timeline. While the elaborate presentation was larger than life, it came at the expense of some of the intimacy that makes live music so great in the first place.

Nicki Bounces Between Eras

The jittery pace of the show had a lot to do with the ever-changing design of the set. Nicki brought with her numerous props that helped accentuate her various characters. As she jumped between different eras backup dancers wheeled her on stage in boxes labeled “Chun-Li,” “Barbie,” and “Roman.” Those almost always came with outfit changes. While the looks are often the biggest part of a tour of this caliber, the shortened time span meant that a substantial chunk of her time was spent off-stage changing clothes.

If the recapping sounds repetitive, that’s how it felt. Watching Nicki elaborately redesign the entire stage amid a lengthy outfit change was exciting at first. But as she continued to only unpack shortened versions of one or two songs before redesigning everything again, it lost its shine. It was only after she blew through one era after another that the show finally shed its theatrics and opened up the opportunity for Nicki to be the forceful entertainer she’s always been capable of.

Nicki Minaj Finally Hits Her Stride

Credit: Frankie Perez @sketchyfrankie

Across the final run of songs the show finally slowed down, took a breath, and lived up to everything it was capable of. Shockingly, it took this long into the show for Nicki to address the crowd at all. In fact, it was the first time she actually said anything between songs when she asked the crowd to applaud for themselves. In the lead-up to her sentimental classic “Moment 4 Life,” she gave a speech to the audience about living in the moment and seeking out happiness every day.

For her second to last song, she gave the Barbz in attendance an incredible treat. During a New Year’s performance a few months ago Nicki passed on performing her smash hit “Starships.” She later claimed that she doesn’t perform the song anymore, something that disappointed fans craving to hear it live. That made her surprise performance of the song one of the most special moments of the entire Rolling Loud weekend. Punctuating it by crushing her go-to closer for every tour stop so far “Everybody” ended the set on a massive bright spot despite its frantic start.

Nicki Minaj is a once-in-a-generation performer who has withstood one controversy after another for decades. In moments during her Rolling Loud Headlining Set, she showed exactly why. With bright, fiery, intense performances and a back catalog that can go toe to toe with anybody, Nicki is still an iconoclast. But under the pressure to deliver the grandest moment possible, she turned in a performance that paid more attention to elaborate theatrics than the powerful voice at the center of it all.

Are Saweetie And YG Back Together?

Earlier this year, The Shade Room reported that Saweetie and YG had ended their relationship after dating since at least May of last year.

And this is why you don’t listen to The Shade Room, or any of those Instagram gossip accounts, really. I have harped on the subject of reliable sources for months and months and stuff like this is why.

During YG and Tyga’s set at Rolling Loud California this past weekend, YG brought Saweetie onstage, where they got cozy and exchanged declarations of love.

The two West Coast rappers were rumored to be dating after collaborating together on multiple songs. Then, in May 2023, they were spotted taking a romantic vacation in Cabo. Since then, they’ve been seemingly inseparable, teaming up with Tyga for the Str8 To The Club tour last autumn and collaborating again on Saweetie’s summer single “Birthday” (again with Tyga).

Saweetie has been more actively promoting her solo music this year, releasing the single “Richtivities” and collaborating with fellow Bay Area native P-Lo for the 49ers playoff anthem “Do It For The Bay.” It certainly sounds like she’s rebooting her album rollout, which could mean that her long-awaited debut project is on the way.

Saweetie is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Metro Boomin & Future Hit Rolling Loud Stage With Travis Scott To Tease “Type S***”

To close out Rolling Loud in Inglewood, California this past weekend, Future and Metro Boomin did the honors of being the headlining acts. It seems like it was a huge success for this iconic trap rap hitmaking duo. Some of their standout performances included Quavo joining them to play “Turn Yo Clic Up,” as well as “Mask Off.” However, another one of their surprise guests helped make this segment of their time on stage the talk of the evening. Travis Scott joined Future and Metro Boomin for a live taste of their upcoming collaboration “Type S***.”

This has been the only track that Metro and Future have really promoted ahead of their forthcoming LP We Don’t Trust You. The duo announced the record, along with a second about a week and a half ago. It is scheduled to drop on March 22, with the unnamed follow-up supposedly coming on April 12. This is now the third time this song has been played. Playboi Carti, who can be heard the most in the performance below, previewed the snippet as well.

However, with Metro saying there will be no features on the record, fans are still left hanging on the edge of their seats. This is especially true because there are just four days remaining before we get something from the Georgia icons. There are also some theories floating around that this will be a Carti track for Music. Him and Metro have been reportedly cooking up stuff as of late, so there is that. Wherever it winds up, the song looks to be a hit.

What are your thoughts on Metro Boomin, Future, and Travis Scott teasing their collaboration “Type S***” again at Rolling Loud? Do you think “We Don’t Trust You” will wind up having features? Will this be an album of the year contender, why or why not? Who will do the best on the track? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Rolling Loud California concluded on a high note with an electrifying performance by Future and Metro Boomin. Travis Scott, Quavo, and Don Toliver treated festival-goers to special appearances, and three new tracks from the duo’s upcoming album, “We Don’t Trust You,” were debuted.

The setlist featured fan favorites like “F*ck Up Some Commas” and “Thought It Was A Drought,” igniting the crowd with non-stop energy. Future and Metro Boomin delivered a scorching performance, culminating in the classic hit “Mask Off.”

Adding to the excitement, the duo debuted an unreleased song titled “Cinderella,” leaving fans eager for more. Their electrifying set showcased their undeniable chemistry and left a lasting impression on Rolling Loud attendees.

We Don’t Trust You, the new set of collaborative albums from Future and Metro Boomin, is on the way.

Hitting X, Metro teased one of the songs, “Typeshit,” which would bring Future with Travis Scott and Playboi Carti.

Earlier this month, Future and Metro Boomin officially announced their latest collaboration. The two albums are announced in a trailer where the two ride twin Rolls Royce trucks into the desert.

The first is We Don’t Trust You, released on March 22. A second album will then be released on April 12.

On Instagram, Metro Boomin delivered a simple statement: “Great things come to those who wait.”

Post Malone & Quavo Perform “Congratulations” At Rolling Loud

Post Malone brought out Quavo for a performance of their iconic collaboration, “Congratulations,” at Rolling Loud in California on Saturday night. Malone was the headliner for the third night of the festival. Earlier in the festival, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign kicked things off as headliners for a controversial set on Thursday night, while Nicki Minaj took over the event on Friday night. The festivities will continue Sunday with Future and Metro Boomin headlining the final night.

Post Malone and Quavo released “Congratulations” back in 2016 as the fifth official single from Malone’s debut studio album, Stoney. The song peaked at number eight on the US Billboard Hot 100. The RIAA has since certified it Diamond (11× Platinum).

Metro Boomin previously detailed how the collaboration between he two came together during an appearance on the Full Send podcast in 2022. “He called me, and so I came to the studio one day,” Metro said at the time. “The same day, I was supposed to pull up on Quavo, on the same night. So, he called me while I was [working] with Post and said, ‘Where are you? What are you doing?’ So, I pulled Post to the side and said, ‘Man, you ever did a song with Quavo?’ He said, ‘Nah, but that would be dope though.’” Check out a clip of Malone during Rolling Loud below.

Sexyy Red Continues To Deny Sleeping With Adin Ross

Sexyy Red has re-upped her refutation of Adin Ross’ claims that the pair had sex. “I don’t know why he play like that but he felt the need to come on in there and play with me. I’m just like let me play along with him. He full of sh-t,” Red said when asked about the claims after the Rolling Loud show.

Ross made the claims last week while streaming with DJ Akademiks. “I wanna announce something but I dunno if I should say it. I did fuck Sexyy Red. It was good. It was really good. She was kinda being the dominant one. I jerked off to it [Red’s sex tape] and that’s what made me hit her up. I’m being for real,” Ross claimed. Red’s initial response was comedic, claiming that Ross had paid her to take his virginity. However, she quickly followed up by denying Ross’ claims.

Sexyy Red Claims She’s Under Surveillance In Mexico, Earns First Solo Apple Chart No. 1

Elsewhere, Red has accused Mexican law enforcement of surveilling her ever since she entered the country. Red has claimed she was pulled over multiple times and there have been drones spotted over her hotel. Mexican law enforcement is yet to comment on the claims. It is unclear why Red would be under surveillance. However, the rapper is clearly agitated by the alleged attention.

Meanwhile, Red also secured her first solo No. 1 on the Apple Music charts with her new single “Get It Sexyy”. It is the second time she has hit No. 1 on the chart, with the first being as a feature on Drake‘s “Rich Baby Daddy”. “Get It Sexyy” is yet to debut on the Billboard Hot 100. However, its strong performance on the Apple chart should be a positive indication as to where it could land with Billboard. Red is expected to drop an album later this year amid a big summer of music releases.
