Sexyy Red’s ‘Iconic’ 2023 Rolling Loud Miami Entrance Has Users Online Looking To Put The Rapper In The Dog House

Rolling Loud Miami 2023’s lineup reads like a who’s who of rap. But even with acts like Playboi Carti and Travis Scott headlining the festival, Sexxy Red’s performance is what has set the internet ablaze.

To be specific, social media went nuts over the performer’s “iconic” entrance. As Sexyy Red headed to the stage dressed, it wasn’t her jeweled bra that caught people’s eyes. It was her pretending to walk two men on leashes as if they were animals that shocked viewers. While the festival dubbed the entrance “Iconic,” after uploading the clip on Instagram, their followers had something else to say about it.

“J Balvin did this and got in trouble. She does this and nothing,” wrote one.

Another wrote, “Something about Black men and chains.”

Someone else wrote, “So when NLE Choppa walked her and Suki like dogs in his video, the narrative was ‘Black women gotta do better.’ But now, since it’s Black men, it’s just disrespectful, and every Black man in the world isn’t included? Interesting.”

Although people online were overwhelmingly against the act, there were several people that didn’t take issue with it. One such person wrote, “That’s hard. All y’all saying those dudes are lame is just hating because this is a show. It’s called a performance, just like acting. If you don’t do it, someone else will. If I was them, I would be proud of my moment.”

Another wrote, “Not y’all kink shaming. BDSM is a thing, folks.”

Another agreed, writing, “I know we all still traumatized from slavery and antiblackness and all, but y’all never heard of a Dominatrix? 🥴

This isn’t the first time one of Sexyy Red’s performances was declared inappropriate — not that such furor has impacted her live bookings.

Rolling Loud Miami Teams Up With Prime Video

Rolling Loud Miami is going down next weekend, and it promises to be a truly amazing show. Overall, so many big artists are going to be in attendance. For instance, Travis Scott, Playboi Carti., Lil Uzi Vert, and ASAP Rocky are tapped for the event. Moreover, a recent paid promotion on Instagram claims that Utopia will be performed for the very first time on July 22nd. This is a massive proclamation, and fans are not sure what to make of it. Either way, it is another reason to attend the festival.

In recent years, Rolling Loud has received a bit of criticism for how it had handled streaming. Although many of the sets can be viewed online, the stream isn’t always working to its best abilities. Furthermore, there are some instances where the artists refuse to be streamed. This subsequently leads to issues and a whole bunch of complaints from fans. Now, however, Rolling Loud Miami will be much easier to stream and its all thanks to a new deal with Amazon.

From Friday, July 21st to Sunday, July 23rd, the festival will be available for streaming through Prime Video as of 4 PM EST. Additionally, you will be able to watch the show on Twitch at the Amazon Music and Rolling Loud channels. This is a huge upgrade from previous years, and overall, it is very much in the best interest of fans. This pro-consumer approach is definitely going to be appreciated. For now, however, it is still unknown if every single artist has agreed to a stream.

Hopefully, this ends up being everything fans have hoped for. The festival boasts a truly fantastic lineup, and we’re sure some amazing performances are on the horizon. Let us know if you will be going to Rolling Loud Miami, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news from around the music world.

How Rolling Loud Became The World’s Biggest Hip Hop Festival

Rolling Loud 2023 is fully in stride. Already hosting shows in Los Angeles and Thailand, 2023 has been a huge success. This summer, the festival is returning back to its roots in Miami. Headlined by Playboi Carti, A$AP Rocky, and Travis Scott, this year’s lineup is set to be one of the festival’s best yet. In addition, they have a reputation for following industry trends. Rolling Loud 2023 is ushering in prominent rookies such as Ice Spice, Pink Pantheress, and Central Cee.

Rolling Loud’s journey to becoming the biggest hip-hop festival on the planet started in an elementary school classroom. Tariq Cherif and Matt Zingler would meet, and quickly become close friends. The duo embarked on Rolling Loud after having respective careers in event management in their 20s. The festival quickly blew up, differentiating itself as a hip-hop-focused act. “We were already booking all these Soundcloud rappers month after month in Florida,” Cherif stated. “We were like, ‘Dude, why are there these other genre-specific festivals, like Ultra and Electric Daisy Carnival with EDM, and Stagecoach for country, and how come there aren’t any for hip-hop?’”

Rolling Loud Blends Melodic & Rage Hip-Hop

While a few other hip-hop-centered festivals existed, these events occurred every few years. Additionally, they didn’t contain the differentiating factor of introducing fans to new artists that Rolling Loud contains. Florida was a perfect place to get this initiative off of the ground. Back in 2015, there was a revolution of local acts that were beginning to garner worldwide attention. You had the rage-filled acts such as XXXTentacion, Denzel Curry, and Lil Pump, who were each carving out a new sub-genre within hip-hop. Blending punk, grunge, and emo elements, Rolling Loud quickly became an event associated with huge mosh pits.

However, Rolling Loud is more than solely angry rap. They’re able to blend the poetic and aggressive worlds of the genre, drawing in both types of fans. Darting from J Cole to Action Bronson to Schoolboy Q, a diverse and unpredictable artist skillset is the case for every event. Cherif and Zingler spent long hours establishing their artist base, discovering future big names before they were well-known. For example, they allowed Travis Scott to perform Pre-Rodeo. They also hosted the likes of Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Uzi Vert, and 21 Savage before they were household names.

Their Shows Attract Over 100,000 Fans

Back in March, Rolling Loud 2023 was hosted in Los Angeles with a headliner list of Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, and Future. Playboi Carti teased new music at the event, with the sound in line with Whole Lotta Red‘s punk aesthetic. While Travis Scott’s performance was cut by a curfew, one of his first returns to the main stage after the Astroworld incident was met with a significant hype. He performed on a Saturday night in front of a sold-out crowd. While Rolling Loud started at Soho Studios in Miami, it has since morphed into a global and multi-yearly event. After only three years of being in business, their shows had gone from hosting a few thousand fans to over a hundred thousand. The independent duo had officially made it.

Rolling Loud is a Worldwide Powerhouse

The logical next step was for Rolling Loud to go international. By 2019, they had Kid Laroi performing for them in Australia. On the second weekend of this April, Rolling Loud 2023 went to Thailand. This summer, they’re going to Portugal. “For the show in Portugal, we try to bring out artists that are based in Europe or local Portuguese artists. There are different acts that maybe have a larger draw there. We will always show love to where we’re at,” Zingler stated.

Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, Rolling Loud stayed relevant by partnering with Twitch to live stream their performances. The dubbed Loud Stream brought in nearly five million viewers over a two-day period. Before the lockdown, Zingler and Cherif had already implemented live streams at their festivals. Once again ahead of the curve in the event space, it made their transition into the lockdown far more seamless than it was for other major events. Since the pandemic, live streams have become a standard in the live event space. Coachella hosted a live stream throughout their two weekends, which caused much controversy when Frank Ocean’s set was skipped over.

Tariq Cherif and Matt Zingler have been able to differentiate Rolling Loud by identifying underground artists with blow-up potential, merging the worlds of lyrical and rage rap, and keeping the event exclusively focused on hip-hop. In doing so, it’s begun to rival Coachella as the world’s largest music festival. With the festival already hosting a show in Los Angeles before traveling to Miami and Portugal in the summer, Rolling Loud 2023 is set to be bigger than ever.

We’ll be back in New York when the time is right.”

Kid Cudi Breaks Silence On Rolling Loud Bottle Throwing

Kid Cudi is back with a new album. Entergalactic features a plethora of talent, including 2 Chainz, Don Toliver, and Ty Dolla $ign, and it also has an accompanying animated special. The “Pursuit Of Happiness” rapper has been doing some interviews to promote the new project, and in conversation, he finally addressed walking off stage during his performance at Rolling Loud Miami.

The incident was captured thoroughly from various camera angles, and videos of a furious Cudi went viral, showing the beleaguered rapper getting pelted with water bottles. In a conversation with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Cudi discussed the abbreviated show.

“It’s supposed to be an unspoken agreement amongst artists and fans, that you’re supposed to give the utmost respect and not interfere with the performance,” said Cudi. To him, the audience had broken that agreement, and that was why he was so upset.

Cudi also hinted that Entergalactic might be his final album, at least under the moniker of Kid Cudi. “The Kid Cudi stuff, I think I want to put it on the back burner and chill out with that. I think, I want to be done with it,” he said. “I think, closing the chapter on Kid Cudi.”

While he didn’t say he would never make new music again, the rapper emphasized that he wanted to work on other creative endeavors, including writing for TV and working on his clothing line. He also noted he wanted to focus on being a dad to his 12-year-old daughter.

“I’ve said a lot and I have other desires, I have other things I want to do,” he elaborated. “And I do not see me never making music, I’ll always f**k around in the studio, or make something here and there. But, as far as getting in the studio and working on an album, and then going and touring it, I just don’t have it in me. I don’t have the desire.”

Kodak Black Shoots His Shot at Brittany Renner During Rolling Loud Interview

Kodak Black

Kodak Black does not need to be on stage in order to create viral moments.

Yak shut down Rolling Loud as one of the weekend’s best and most anticipated performers. The Florida native took to the stage to perform a number of crowd favorites including his double platinum classic hit, “No Flockin.”

When the “Zeze” rapper wrapped up his performance, he joined one of Rolling Loud’s hosts, Brittany Renner, for an interview.

During an interview, Brittany Renner began by asking Kodak about his recent arrest. Yak did not seem bothered by the mishap as he flexed his ankle monitor.

“When they try to feed you sh*t, you make fertilizer out of it,” he said. “I’m swaggin’ this sh*t. I’m matching with it and it looks good on me,” referring to his ankle monitor.

Renner then switches the subject and entices Kodak by mentioned her fondness for dates and how she would the rapper to show her Florida.

He then offered Renner to “hit the Black” & Mild he was smoking during the interview, but she denied.

“No I like to drink. I don’t smoke,” responded Renner.

Tequilla is Renner’s drink of choice when Kodak asked her preference.

“My name Yak so you gotta drink cognac,” he suggested. After Renner emphasized her drink of choice, the conversation escalated from there.

“You gon drink me so you drinkin’ yak anyway,” added Kodak.

“You want me to drink you,” said Renner.

“I’d drink you,” said Kodak.

The interesting moment lasted for the duration of the interview which featured an exchange in growls as well.

Kodak Black also joined Kendrick Lamar on stage to perform “Silent Hill” as K Dot closed out the weekend with an unforgettable performance.
