Sexyy Red gave birth recently, and she, Drake, and SZA decided to make that the foundation for their new “Rich Baby Daddy” video that dropped last night (February 14).
The Drake-directed clip starts with himself behind the camcorder, showing off his suburban neighborhood before heading inside to his pregnant wife, Red. The music kicks in at around 45 seconds and shows Drake, Sexyy, and SZA enjoying a holiday celebration in their humble home. The music cuts back out at 2:17 into the video, when Red shouts at Drake from across the house, letting him know that her water broke.
The music returns as the three head to the hospital, where the video shifts away from its VHS style and starts looking more modern, as Sexyy gives birth and friends and family celebrate the new arrival. Before the video ends, we see footage from after Red’s actual, real-life childbirth, as she holds her baby and on-screen text reads, “Congratulations Red!!! We Love You.”
Speaking of hospitals, at a recent St. Louis concert, Drake offered to pay for a fan’s upcoming operation, saying from the stage, “You got a sign out that says, ‘Please help me with my surgery.’ I don’t know what kind of surgery you need, sir. I really don’t, but I’ma let you know: From me to you, St. Louis love, we gonna take care of whatever the surgery is.”
Sexyy Red was one of the biggest breakout artists of 2023. Overall, she has co-signs from a ton of different artists. However, no co-sign was bigger than the one she ended up getting from none other than Drake. She got to be one of the openers on his tour, and there were times when she got to feature on massive songs. For instance, on For All The Dogs, Sexyy Red got to be on the song “Rich Baby Daddy.” This is a track that also features the likes of SZA, and is considered one of the best on the entire project.
Throughout the last few months, fans have been theorizing about when the music video for this song would end up making its way to YouTube. After all, these are three big artists on one song. Well, on Wednesday, Drizzy finally gave us the music video and it boasted a unique DIY aesthetic. Sexyy Red’s water breaks during the video and we get to see her in the hospital as well. Moreover, there is one scene in which Drake kisses her pregnant belly. This led to a hilarious contemplation from Sexyy on Twitter.
“I’m wrong if I put drake on child support?” Sexxy asked. Her fans thought this was pretty humorous. It also feeds into the rumor that was perpetuated by some who claimed Drake was, in fact, the father of her newborn child. Of course, this is nothing to back up such a rumor. Sexyy Red has a pretty good sense of humor, and she definitely knew what she was doing with this tweet. Now, in 2024, it will be interesting to see how she follows up her success. There will be some lofty expectations for her, and there is no telling what she will be able to accomplish.

Last year, Drake released his highly-anticipated new album For All The Dogs. The project features some of his strangest collaborations and song concepts to date and the videos accompanying the era have been appropriately outside the box. The first video from the era was for “8 am In Charlotte” and starred Drizzy’s son Adonis, who also makes his rap debut on the album itself. Tracks like “First Person Shooter” with J. Cole and “Another Late Night” with Lil Yachty also got videos of their own. The EP that followed the album Scary Hours 3 even got a video that featured an appearance from another one of the biggest stars in all of music, country singer Morgan Wallen.
Now one of the most unique and exciting tracks on For All The Dogs is getting a video of its own. That track is “Rich Baby Daddy” which features Sexyy Red and SZA. For the music video, they play off Sexyy Red’s recent pregnancy. Drake and Red play a couple in a series of home video-style recordings documenting her pregnancy. As the video goes on her water breaks and by the time her verse arrives she’s rapping alongside a newborn baby. It’s another stylistically distinct video from this era and perhaps the funniest yet. Check out the full video below.
Drake Goes Domestic With New “Rich Baby Daddy” Visuals
Drake is currently on tour alongside J. Cole for his It’s All A Blur tour. The tour has been going on for months now dating back to the 21 Savage-supported shows last year. Despite claiming last year that he was going on a hiatus, Drizzy teased new music during a recent stop on the tour. While nothing actually concrete has emerged about what he could be releasing and when, he seemingly refuses to let his fans go without new music for long.
What do you think of Drake, Sexyy Red, and SZA’s new music video for “Rich Baby Daddy?” What’s your favorite music video from the For All The Dogs era so far? Let us know in the comment section below.
Drake could be dropping a music video for “Rich Baby Daddy”. At least that’s what fans think based on the rapper’s social media. Images of Sexyy Red and SZA on Drizzy’s Instagram Story have led fans to believe that Drake could be hyping a potential music video for the For All The Dogs track. Featuring the two aforementioned femcees, “Rich Baby Daddy” peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. However, there is no further confirmation beyond the cryptic Instagram posts to confirm the theory about a music video.
Of course, Drake will be eager to steer the conversation around him back towards his music. In recent days, social media has been rife with content relating to a reported leak of an alleged sex tape featuring Drake and adult actress and activist Mia Khalifa. The existence of the tape is largely unsubstantiated but the topic has gone viral regardless. Neither party has openly addressed the rumors at this time.
Meanwhile, Drake recently pressed SZA to drop one of her unreleased tracks. In late January, Drizzy posted a screenshot of SZA’s published Soundcloud snippets of “Joni” to his Instagram Story. “My [goat emoji], pls drop this,” Drake added to the image. The song, first teased in 2020 during a Rolling Stone interview, has been partially released as a minute-long snippet online. The trap beat is written from the perspective of Joni Mitchell, the iconic folk musician. It’s unclear whether Drake’s endorsement will see the song finally come to light.
SZA is currently riding high after a massive win at last week’s Grammys. She, along with Phoebe Bridgers, won the 2024 Grammy for best pop dup/group performance for their track “Ghost in the Machine”. The pair most notably won the award over Taylor Swift, who was nominated for her track “Karma”, which featured Ice Spice. “Holy sh-t THANK YOU @phoebe_bridgers!!!I F-CKING LOVE YOU B-TCH !! Thank you to @RecordingAcad!!!!!!! I’m so grateful and thank you to every producer on this record especially rob and Carter love u gang . WE GOT ONE !! ,” SZA wrote on X after the award was announced. “Ghost in the Machine” peaked at No. 40 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Dee-1, known for his song “Taking a Chance on Me,” has voiced his concern over a viral video featuring a group of young girls dancing to Drake & Sexyy Red’s song “Rich Baby Daddy.” In a video shared on X/Twitter on Tuesday (January 2), the rapper reposts the controversial performance before addressing the public with his thoughts. Dee-1 wastes no time in expressing his disapproval, stating, “This ain’t cool, man, and this ain’t cute.” The video has garnered a mix of praise and criticism. It has sparked a larger conversation about the influence of music and the responsibility of both artists and fans. However, he’s addressing the problem of young children listening to and dancing to vulgar and sexually explicit music.
Moreover, Sexyy Redd’s verse on the track notoriously sings, “Bend that **s over, let that c**chie breathe. Shake that **s, b**ch, hands on your knees. Shake that **s for Drake (yup), now, shake that **s for me.” In his message, Dee-1 raises a crucial question: “What are we going to do about it?” He emphasizes the collective responsibility of artists, fans, and adults in shaping the cultural landscape. “It takes artists to make the music, it takes fans to support the music, and it takes adults to figure out what they’re going to expose their kids to. Right?” Calling on fans to take a stand, Dee-1 urges them to refrain from supporting and promoting such content.
Moreover, he calls on people to be more vocal. “Matter of fact, you really need to be vocal that you’re opposed to this if you really have a problem with it,” he asserts. Highlighting the power of collective voices in effecting change. Addressing fellow artists, Dee-1 emphasizes the need to resist manipulation and to be conscious of the impact their work may have on society. “As artists, we just gotta decide when we wanna stop being manipulated, man, and letting them use us as pawns,” he concludes. “I don’t understand. How MARKETING this makes you any better than the poor unfortunates who are also seeking attention at the expense of these children?” one person expressed on X. “There’s a lot of money in degeneracy and that’s the problem,” someone else said.
Furthermore, others were holding parents accountable. “No, the parents are responsible here because they allow it in their household,” another shared. The rapper’s message carries a strong call to action as he declares, “This is the year of the shift. Happy 2024. Fans AND Artists. Our time is NOW to take the power back. Time to take action.” Dee-1’s words resonate as a cry for a reevaluation of the content produced and consumed in the hip-hop community. He thinks society should bring in a new era of responsibility and accountability. What are your thoughts? Do you agree with Dee-1 on this subject matter? Let us know on HNHH!
SZA and Drake made some great music together this year. Overall, they had the track “Slime You Out” and they also came through with “Rich Baby Daddy.” The latter of these two tracks also came with a feature from none other than Sexyy Red. It was easily one of the best tracks of the entire album, and fans are still bumping it right now. That said the lyrics to the song have been disputed, especially as it pertains to SZA. Luckily, she now has an explanation for all of us.
According to Uproxx, SZA was on her IG story where she explained that she was dealing with a cold while recording the track. This made it so that her lyrics weren’t as clear. Although she explained the situation to Drizzy, he was more than happy to include the verse anyway. “Y’all lmao I was sick w a fever n couldnt breathe when I recorded this and told @champagnepapi no one would understand me n I sound crazy. He said noooo ur fine anyways here’s the lyrics to RBD once n for all,” SZA wrote on social media.
SZA then had this message as it pertains to the lyrics at hand: “‘You been so good and you deserve to end your suffering, I need good dick n conversation can you comfort me. I got a feeling this is more than what we both say I got a feeling this is more than feelings. I can’t let you get away .. feels good but it can’t be love . Ain’t a damn thing that I’d do ! Ain’t a damn thing oooooo’ just in case lmao love y’all.” It is always cool when artists provide this kind of context. Ultimately, it adds a whole new layer to the art.

SZA has a couple of features on Drake’sFor All The Dogs, on “Slime You Out” and “Rich Baby Daddy” (the latter of which also features Sexyy Red). “Rich Baby Daddy,” though, has apparently caused some confusion, which SZA has now addressed.
In an Instagram Story shared yesterday (December 27), SZA explained the story behind recording her contribution to the song, saying, “Y’all lmao I was sick w a fever n couldnt breathe when I recorded this and told @champagnepapi no one would understand me n I sound crazy. He said noooo ur fine anyways here’s the lyrics to RBD once n for all.”
She then clarified the lyric, writing, “‘You been so good and you deserve to end your suffering, I need good dick n conversation can you comfort me. I got a feeling this is more than what we both say I got a feeling this is more than feelings. I can’t let you get away .. feels good but it can’t be love . Ain’t a damn thing that I’d do ! Ain’t a damn thing oooooo’ just in case lmao love y’all.”
Meanwhile, SZA explained her musical origins in a recent interview, saying, “Some people choose music as a career, and they feel very certain about what they’re doing and why they’re doing it, but I was never quite certain, and I really only did music to prove a point. […] When I started making music, it was to my ex-fiancé because he was paying for everything. My food, my clothes, where I lived, and he was eight years my senior, so I was so co-dependent.”
Without a doubt, Sexyy Red is one of the biggest breakout stars of 2023. While the rapper first gained attention in 2018, it was in 2023 that her career took off. Her uprising has been interesting to witness, to say the least. Moreover, it looks like this is only the beginning.
Despite facing criticism for her “ratchet” musical style and provocative lyrics, Sexyy Red has bloomed to stardom. Considering how she dominated the scene within a year, we can only imagine what the future holds for her. The confident femcee is surely coming into her own. In the meantime, let’s take a look back at the year she’s had and how she managed to dominate rap in 2023.
Between 2018 and 2022, Sexyy Red released multiple singles, as well as her debut mixtape Ghetto Superstar (2021). However, none of these releases had impressive commercial performances, and they did not appear on any charts. “Pound Town” ushered Sexyy Red into an era of success she had long been working towards. The song was released on January 27, 2023, and soon went viral on TikTok following the #PoundTownChallenge.
A Remix With The Queen
On May 26, 2023, an official remix of “Pound Town” featuring Nicki Minaj dropped. Following its release, Minaj sent out an email to her Barbz addressing her decision to jump on the track. “I met with Sexyy Red & found her to be so down to earth and sweet. I couldn’t hear myself on this song at first but once I let go & decided to just have fun with a bad b!ch, I ended up LOVING how it came out,” she wrote.
Naturally, a co-sign from the Queen of Rap would be a triumph for any burgeoning rapper. However, an even greater mark of her blessing is having her make a guest appearance on a track by said rapper. Nicki Minaj’s feature on “Pound Town 2” increased the song’s popularity. Equally, it brought Sexyy Red more fame, as she was recognized by a much wider audience. Subsequently, this remix became Sexyy Red’s first-ever song to appear on the charts. It peaked at number 66 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Sexyy Red’s second mixtape, Hood Hottest Princess, was released on June 9, 2023. It houses “SkeeYee,” the rapper’s highest-charting solo single, and one of her biggest songs. In fact, it was the inaugural chart-topper on Billboard’s TikTok Chart. The song also peaked at number 62 on the Hot 100 chart. In addition to that, “Hellcat SRTs,” “Female Gucci Mane,” and “Born By The River,” which were released as singles, are also standouts from the mixtape. On the Billboard 200 chart, it reached number 62, becoming Sexyy Red’s first project to appear on the chart. A deluxe edition of the mixtape was released on December 1, 2023, containing 11 new tracks and features from Chief Keef, Summer Walker, G Herbo, and 42 Dugg.
A Myriad Of Guest Appearances
In 2023, Sexyy Red established herself as a queen of remixes. The rapper made multiple guest appearances on tracks and remixes by several artists. From NLE Choppa’s “Slut Me Out” (Remix) to DaBaby’s “Shake Sumn” (Remix), Sexyy Red was everywhere this year. Her appearances on That Chick Angel’s “One Margarita (Margarita Song) [Ladies Remix],” and Young Nudy’s “Peaches & Eggplants” (Remix) are also notable.
While Red’s features on all these tracks are worthy of note, one song in particular stands out. Drake’s “Rich Baby Daddy” ft. Sexyy Red and SZA is the rapper’s most successful song yet. It was released as the third single from Drake’s eighth studio album For All The Dogs on October 13, 2023. Subsequently, it peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and appeared in several other charts across the world. In addition to its commercial success, the song has also been praised by listeners. Sexyy Red’s hook is widely referred to as one of its most memorable parts.
In conclusion, the rapper is just getting started. From “Pound Town” to “Rich Baby Daddy,” she evidently opened and closed out 2023 on a high note. Overall, it’s been a wonderfully successful year for Sexyy Red. It’s only right to expect bigger things in the coming years.
Sexyy Red’s virality has been off the charts this year. She has quickly become one of the most popular names in rap. Whether it be for her raunchy bangers or her funny videos of her online, everyone has “Sexyy fever.” The Missouri native has been able to work with some of the biggest names in hip-hop due to these reasons. One of her hallmark collaborations this year is her work with Drake. For All The Dogshad some massive songs on it, including “First Person Shooter,” “IDGAF,” “Slime You Out,” and more.
Another one of those is “Rich Baby Daddy,” which has another SZA feature on it as well. Both Drake and Sexyy were photographed throughout the year, with her even joining him on tour. The track was a big talking point for a lot of people and it seems it is still a favorite. In the hilarious video below, these Christmas carolers decided to perform her portion of the song.
You can hear some Ulta customers in the background of the video in utter shock. These cheerful performers put their all into it as they sang Red’s verse with great pride. It is certainly one of the more bizarre videos you will see. Some people left some funny comments under the post. One goes, “Baby the ulta workers already tired I know they were debating on clocking out with this” Another adds, “Ole dude singing it with his WHOLE CHEST ! ” Hopefully, Sexyy sees this and reacts to it sooner than later, but we sure she would approve of this.

Sexyy Red recently took to social media to drop off a flirty new clip. In the clip, the “Pound Town” performer is seen sitting on what appears to be a tour bus flaunting her figure, as well as a fat stack of cash. “Rich Baby Mama,” she captioned the fun snippet, which was accompanied by her track alongside Drake and SZA, “Rich Baby Daddy.”
The hitmaker rocks a black pair of cat ears in the new thirst trap, which she paired with a glittering silver bodysuit. Fans are sounding off in her comments section, praising the eye-catching look. Her baby bump is also on full display, showing fans that even her second pregnancy won’t be slowing her, or her cash flow, down anytime soon.
While fans have, as expected, flooded her comments section with compliments, one of her peers also took to Twitter to chime in. City Girls’ Yung Miami shared the sweet clip, showing the “SkeeYee” rapper some love. “You look so pretty,” she wrote alongside a series of heart-eyed emojis. Supporters are here for the two ladies’ friendship, and note that her newfound “pregnancy glow” might be to thank.
Yung Miami’s not Sexyy’s only peer on her team these days, as she also recently got a shout-out from Boosie Badazz. The Louisiana native responded after she called herself the “modern day” him earlier this week, making it clear that he was flattered. “I feel like she giving me my flowers,” he noted. “I don’t get my flowers a lot and I’m a ratchet hood n***a who still getting money, who getting a bankroll … “She on top of the game right now. We both from the trenches. People can relate to us.”
